Description

Last year's best selling BBCOR bat is back with an impressive new design and mind-blowing new graphics! The Voodoo's supremacy begins at the handle where DeMarini introduces a new composite material this season called TR3 Strut Composite. With TR3, DeMarini seeks to replicate the triangular structure of a crystal, as that is what helps make crystals one of the toughest and most stable compounds on earth. TR3 Composite is strong, stable, and predictable - without any unnecessary weight. This handle is designed to efficiently transfer power from your hands to the barrel giving players balance and consistency with every swing. The barrel of the Voodoo is constructed with DeMarini's SC4 Alloy. This alloy provides a thickness tuned wall that extends the entire length of the barrel contributing to a wickedly hot and insanely durable sweetspot! The Voodoo also gets help from DeMarini's newest technology, called Taper Ring, that allows BBCOR bats to perform at the very top of the standard. Weight placement closer to the taper rather than in the barrel allows DeMarini to maintain the integrity of the sweetspot and keep swing speeds at their fastest! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The Voodoo is BBCOR Certified and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Very scary looking bat. The looks though are just as sinister as the pop from this bat. Balance is great and doesn't feel as endloaded as most BBCOR bats do. Love the half ounce lengths and weights

Pros: Bat Balance. Bat Grip. Ball flies off this bat just like a BESR bat. Make sure when you first use it spread out you hits on the bat. Bat design.

Cons: Just one minor thing I don't like bats with deep inbeded end caps but I don't like this ones end cap either it sticks out to much. But nothing really major.

Pros: Great balence, nice grip, nice feel to the bat. Just got the bat and went two for three with hard line drives

Cons: I think in my own opinion that you can deffently tell the difference between BESR and BBCOR. it doesnt have as much jump of the bats as the besr. but that is how it was supposed to be made. the bat does scrath easy.

Pros: Great pop and has a HUGE hitting zone. i got jammed and it sent the ball to the outfield for a bloop single. I was nervous about this bat at first but it was worth the money. Feels like the red BESR voodoo to me! best bbcor by far!!!!!!

Cons: scratches easily.... who cares

Pros: Excellent weight distribution. The ball explodes of the barrel in an obvious large sweet spot. Hitting the ball to all fields is naturally reinforced by the driving power up and down the barrel. Never feel like your giving something up by going the other way on outside pitches.

Cons: High demand will keep prices high until something better comes out.

Pros: This bat has great balance. The half composite, half aluminum alloys for great balance and pop. The look is amazing and the grip is phenomenal. This is definately the next bat I'm getting. I'm amazed that it is BBCOR approved with such power and balance.

Pros: I used to be an Easton person but now Easton has let me down. Demarini has stepped up to the challenge and has blown me away. They are now producing such high quality bats that they are now the only bats I will buy. This bat has great balance, power, and obviously the coolest looking bat out there. This is the bat at the top of the market. Get the VOODOO!

Cons: There will Never be a problem with this bat.

Pros: Good Grip, Sweet Graphics. Good POP for BBCOR really isnt there anymore. It is the best BBCOR i have swung better then the omen, and surge. Cool Sound

Cons: Slightly Top Heavy Better than most BBCORs. Compared to all other previous Voodoos this one is definately a few steps down on performance. Small Sweet Spot. Stings Bad if not hit solis on the sweet spot. Also my bat speed is much slower with this bat than all of my BESR bats.

Cons: Doesn't feel good at all and is out performed by the other white Voodoo.

A real review

Pros: Very well balanced. Performs as advertised. Decent pop, even for a BBCOR bat. If you have the money, I would reccomend this bat. Glad it's made in USA. p.s. Most fears over using BBCOR bats are psychological. If you start out thinking you'll hate the new bats, you will. Have a positive attitude and make the bast of the BBCOR standard

Cons: When UPS dropped off the bat, the box had massive dents and look as though it had been kicked up the front steps to the door. Luckily, the bat didn't dent or get scratched. Just goes to show the duribility of the Voodoo I guess.

Pros: It feels pretty good swinging it, evenly balanced. Out of all the bbcor bats I've swung, this has the most "pop"

Pros: Will hit the ball hard if you square it up and hit it on the sweet spot, almost like a BESR. If you miss it is not going far. It is one of the best if not the best BBCOR.

Cons: It is a little more end loaded than BESR Voodoo and therefore slows bat speed a little

Pros: When my 15 year old got this bat it seemed to have good pop in the cage, but in the field you could see ball was not traveling as far as with the old bats. I thought the homeruns were over with, but surprisingly he hit one out on a 320' field with this bat.

Cons: Sound. When my son hit the above mentioned home run the bat made very little sound, just a dull thud. Sometimes if you hit it right on the sweet spot it makes a decent sound. Sweet spot is small.

Pros: The looks are cool. The end weight gives the bat momentum when you swing the bat.

Cons: Horrible pop compared to other bbcor's like the new marucci, demarini cf5, and easton power brigade series. Personally, I hate end loaded bats so it didn't suit me unfortunately.

Pros: Big bat head, nice graphics, ball goes if you can square it up.

Cons: All of the weight is in the barrel and handle flex is not stiff at all. Doesn't really matter what bat you use. Balls that are squared up jump same off this bat as they do on the 5150 and new Eastons. its a matter of feel. if you like endloaded and a lot of handle flex this is good. If you prefer a stiff flex (like me) then this is not recommended.

Pros: love everything about this bat. what some people in these reviews dont get, is that obviously it wont have as much pop as a BESR would because the new BBCOR bats have to be more like wood for safety issues.

Cons: none

Pros: Good Pop and a little better balance than last years model. I would say it is the best alloy bat I have tried. It felt better than the 5150, Rip it, and just as good as most of the alloys in the power brigade (S1 excluded)

Cons: I have the 2011 model and had an opportunity to demo this one. I will give DeMarini props on a little better balance. However, the bat still has the same bad feel on contact. In my opinion after sampling most of the BBCOR bats composite is the way to go. I haven't been a big composite fan but after trying the prototype, omaha, all of the power brigade (6 bats), Voodoo, and 5150 I have come to believe the Easton S1 or XL1 is the way to go. I believe it is $100.00 better than the Voodoo. However, if you do like the new alloy feel in BBCOR then I would recomend this.

Pros: Have hit with Marucci, Rip-It, EXO and Easton BBCOR's at the college level. The 2012 VooDoo is my choice for overall pop, durability and feel. Easton's have great pop but I have seen 4 break during games this year and I have yet to see a VooDoo break. I hit 1,000+ balls a week and I am very happy with the consistent pop and lack of problems! Highly recommended by a current college hitter that has tried every bat out there.

Pros: paint scheme technology balance (for power hitters...real men) pop end cap I got this bat in August and loved it ever since. Hit with just about every BBCOR out there and my unbiased opinion is that the VooDoo outperforms all the others. The paint scheme and the pop are high quality. If you hit it good, the balls gonna go. its no BESR but maybe now we wont get 5'4" chumps hitting 300 footers.

Cons: scratches a bitt, but its a bat. flex is a little more than id like but i think itll help with power. traditionally i swung an Exogrid and i liked the once piece feel. pop is less than a BESR for a reason, so quit complaining if you cant hit it out of the infield. thats all i got to say about that

The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece bat that provides more flex than a one-piece bat. Two-piece bats are generally preferred by line drive hitters.

The 2012 DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece full composite bat. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece hybrid bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The CF5 will require a 150-200 swing break-in period before it's game ready but the Voodoo is game ready as soon as you buy it.

My son will be a freshman this year and has to use a BBCOR this summer. He was hitting 350' bombs with the Easton Surge XXL BESR that is also a composite handle. Does this bat flex more or less than the 2011 XXL Surge? At 14-15 I don't know if he is strong enough to need a one piece handle. What do you think? General
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and Easton Surge BBCOR are both two-piece hybrid bats and will have a similar flex. Both are popular models and either would be an excellent choice.
Brett
I can't make my mind up between this bat or the 2012 DeMarini CF5, what do you think is a more powerful/better bat? alex

The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel. It does say "composite" on the handle.
Brett
Are there ANY differences between this and the 2011 BBCOR Voodoo, other than color? Nessie

I am in in 8th grade and will be trying out for my middle school baseball team this spring. Would I need a BBCOR bat and if so, is this this a good bat for me?(I am about 5'6 or 5'7 and 125 i hit anywhere from lead off to 3rd i usually hit singles and doubles with occasional power). A guy with a question
First thing I would do is check with your middle school. Most middle schools have to abide by high school rules, which would be a -3 BBCOR bat. But, some middle schools allow the transitional size of the -5. Before making a selection, I would find out exactly what is allowed in your area.
lkh
Last year I used the BESR 2011 Vexxum and I loved it. But I tried out the new Vexxum and I hate it. Would the CF5 or the BBCOR Vodoo give me the similar feel and performance? CuriousGeorge
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat like the DeMarini Vexxum so it is going to be the most similar in feel and performance.
K.B.
2012 DeMarini Voodoo or CAT 5, which is the better bat? Which is a hitter bat? Ken
They are both good bats. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat, the CAT 5 is a one-piece. The CAT 5 is lighter weight and more balanced. Both have great pop.
K.B.
CAT 5, 2012 DeMarini Voodoo, or DeMarini CF5? I had the 2010 Voodoo and that was (in my opinion) the best Voodoo ever and I also had the 2011 reddish one (not BBCOR). I know that the CF5 is composite but do composite BBCORs have the same pop as they used to? Does the new Voodoo make more of a ping sound rather than the sound of broken glass like the white 2012 Voodoo(BBCOR). And about the CAT 5, I hear it's the best pop for BBCORs, so would that be a better way or would the DeMarinis because I am used to them. Please don't say that the CF5 is all composite and the Voodoo is half and half because I know this. baseball bat kid
The new BBCOR standard has put a restriction on the performance levels of all adult baseball bats (not just composites). These BBCOR bats will not be as high-performing as the old BESR or non-BBCOR bats. The CAT 5 is one of our best sellers and it does offer quite a bit of pop. It is a one-piece bat that will be stiffer than the CF5 or Voodoo. The CF5 and Voodoo offer more flex which is often preferred by contact hitters looking to add more pop. In terms of sound, the 2012 Voodoo will sound very similar to last year's Voodoo. I don't think I'd compare the sound to broken glass, but more of a muffled "ping". There is actually an audio link on the product page if you look to the right of the main product image. This way you can hear what the bat sounds like when it's hit. The CAT 5 will have a higher pitched "ping" sound than the Voodoo. Based on my personal experience, I would give the CF5 a slight edge in perfomance over the Voodoo. I've hit with the CAT 5, and although I've always preferred two-piece bats like the Voodoo and CF5, I would put the CAT 5 right up there with the CF5 in terms of performance. Ultimately, if you're used to using DeMarini's I would stick with the CF5 of Voodoo. That's always my recommendation for someone who's been loyal to one brand over the years.
Tyler
Looking at the new Voodoo and the CF5. What are the pros and cons between them? Have always been a Voodoo person (Loved the 2009 BESR model), but now first year in college being forced to use the bboc bat. The new Voodoo seem a little top heavy comparded the past BESR models Ice
Both are similar in construction, but the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has an alloy barrel with a composite handle. The CF5 has a composite barrel and handle. The Voodoo will feel slightly more end loaded than the CF5. Based on customer feedback and first hand experience, the CF5 will have a little more pop and perform slightly better than the Voodoo. The Voodoo still performs great and if you're used to using one, then I would say this year's Voodoo would be a great option.
TJ
Which bat is better for a contact hitter, the Voodoo or the Vexxum? Barracuda
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and DeMarini Vexxum are two-piece hybrids that are good for a contact hitter. The Voodoo will have a little bit more pop than the Vexxum.
K.B.
Does the BBCOR make the bat have less pop than previous Voodoos? Nick
Yes. BBCOR bats have less "pop" than the previous BESR bats.
K.B.
Will this bat be allowed in high school with a 3.5 drop? Jeff
All BBCOR bats are only a -3 drop. There are no -3.5 drops.
K.B.
What is the best non-composite adult bat with no price limits? z
Based on customer feedback and first hand experience, I would say either the Marucci CAT 5 or Rip-It Prototype II. Both are two of the highest performing alloy bats on the market.
John
What is the best non composite bat that is also very balanced? Zach
If you need a balanced bat, check out the Marucci CAT 5. It has a nice balance. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is an excellent bat, just a little end loaded.
LKH
I'm a leadoff batter, therefore I'm looking for an evenly balanced bat that's good for quicker swings and line drives. Is this bat good for this or would you recomend a different bat. Joe
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo would be a great bat for quick swing speed. The Easton S2 would also be a good choice.
K.B.
What bat is more balanced - the 2012 VooDoo or 2012 ExoGrid2? Joe
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and 2012 ExoGrid2 are evenly balanced bats.
lkh
What is the rotation index and does it work? ktice15
DeMarini's Rotation Index is designed to help you rotate the bat evenly to help distribute contact throughout the barrel.
John
My son, 12, used to swing a 30" 20oz bat. What size would be comparable to a BBCOR or USSSA approved bat? Slugger
If he is required to use a BBCOR bat, which is a mandatory -3 length to weight ratio, compared to the -10 he was using with the 30-20. The adult bat is 7 ounces heavier. If he is not required to use adult size bats, then my recommendation is to drop him to either a -8 or a -5, to gradually prepare him for that big jump to the -3.
Linda
What's the differentiation between the Voodoo and the Vexxum? Would we be talking different turning models if these were wood bats? twoseam
They are basically the same bat. Both use the same composite and alloy technology. We have received feedback that the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly heavier than the DeMarini Vexxum. Both are very good bats.
K.B.
Comparing the Voodoo and the Combat B3 - durability, warranty, and performance. Looking at both bats having trouble deciding. 5'9" 120lbs with some pop. Worried about cold weather with spring games. Need some solid decisive feedback. VOODOO OR B3? Help. ry
In terms of performance, I like the COMBAT B3. It was one of the better feeling and highest performing BBCOR bats I've hit with. The Voodoo may hold up better in colder weather though. The B3 is a stiffer, one-piece bat that is often preferred by stronger hitters. Both have full warranties through the manufacturer.
Derek
Voodoo, 5150, or Easton S3? What is more recommended or has more "pop"? wineing7889
I really like the Rawlings 5150 and the Easton S3, but I would say the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has just a little more pop. The Voodoo is also a two-piece bat that offers a little more flex that typically give contact or gap hitters more pop.
Derek
I am a power hitter, which BBCOR bat would you reccomend? 2012 Voodoo, 2012 Exo Grid2, or 2012 easton SxL3? win3
Either the Louisville Slugger ExoGrid2 or the Easton XL3. The XL3 is end loaded and better suited for a strong power hitter.
Derek
I was wondering, is there any composite on it? And what is taper ring tech? Hollywood
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a hybrid bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The taper ring technology helps keep the bat evenly balanced and not feel end loaded.
KG
I'm 14 and play in on a premier select team. I am required to use a BBCOR next season and I'm thinking about getting this bat or the TPX Exogrid. Could you please give me a direct answer. If you need any extra information, I'm a leadoff hitter who likes to go opposite field and hits line drives. Dr. Swag
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Louisville Slugger EXOGRID2 are very good options for a contact hitter. The Voodoo may have a little more POP than the EXOGRID2.
KG
I am looking for my son for Christmas. This is for High School baseball and my son is 5'8 185 pounds. What would you recommend? Suzy
I would recommend a 33" 30 oz bat based on his height and weight.
K.B.
Will it change my swing with the weight and does it hurt to use in under 65 degrees? lcbking
This is a balanced, two-piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. We recommend not using it when the temperature drops below 55 degrees.
K.B.
Hey. I have swung the DeMarini Voodoo and have noticed and liked the heavier handle and more balanced feel. Are there any more bats that compare with the Voodoo? (pop, balance, performance) slugger
Most of the DeMarini two-piece bats are going to have a similar feel to the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo,
Sean
Do you think this bat is the best BBCOR bat available? ERIC
Currently, the hottest BBCOR bats are the Easton Omen, COMBAT B3, and the Louisville Slugger Z-1000.
Derek
Would you recommend the Voodoo or the Rip-It Prototype 2 for BBCOR 2012? nick
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and RIP-IT Prototype II are both excellent bats but very different. The Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Prototype II is a one-piece alloy bat. Both are nicely balanced and have great pop.
KG
What is the difference between the DXVDC and WTDXVNB? taehyung
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo uses different composite materials in the handle. Both are going to perform very similar.
K.B.
Will this be legal for PONY in 2012? Bob the best
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is legal for 14 & under or 15 & over PONY play. You can also use a USSSA 1.15 BPF stamped bat to get a lower bat weight, if needed.
Linda
What is better the Marrcui CAT 5 or Voodoo? zibell
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has similar pop to the CAT 5. Both are very durable and popular BBCOR bats.
KG
We live in Oregon. Play in a lot of cold weather beginning of the year. Would it be a bad idea to purcahse the CF5 considering the all composite? Would the Voodoo be a better choice for us? Do you have a link for a fitting chart? Thanks. Scott
We don't recommend using any bat, composite or alloy, in temperatures below 55 degrees. The cold makes the baseball very dense which can lead to dented alloy or cracked composite. In appropriate temperatures, either bat is a great option. Here is a link to our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/ I would suggest going with the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo because it will perform better in the colder weather with less durability concerns than the Cf5
John
What's the improvements over the 2011? mudbug
They upgraded the composite used in the bat, added the taper ring technology and changed the end cap on the bat
Sean
Is this approved for high school baseball in Colorado? BB
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a BBCOR bat and approved for Colorado high school play.
Linda
I'm looking for a BBCOR bat for my 13 year old son who's 6'2" and 135#. They play about half their season in cool weather. What would be the best bat for him? Would the Louisville Slugger Z1000 or DeMarini Voodoo be good choices? tmb
The Louisville Slugger Z-1000 and the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo are both great bats that will perform well in cold weather. However, we do not recommend using any bat when the temperature drops below 55 degrees. At that temperature, baseballs become very dense and can damage the bat.
Sean
Is this bat definitely approved for the 2012 high school ball John
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is approved for high school baseball
Sean
My son is 12 and will be trying out for Middle School baseball in the Spring. We have been told that he must use BBCOR but has the option of using a -5 or -3. Why are there not any -5 BBCOR bats for him? He is about 5'3" and weighs 115. I am afraid the -3 are a bit much for him now. LORI
All BBCOR bats are a -3 and will not come in a -5. Senior League bats come in a -5.
Kara
I am a freshman and a line drive/singles and doubles hitter. What bat would you prefer for my type of hitter: the 2012 VOODOO BBCOR or the LS Z-1000 BBCOR? I know what size I'm getting already, so please only specify which bat. cubsfan51
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid and the Louisville Slugger is a one-piece composite. Line drive hitters typically like to use two-piece bats so I recommend the Voodoo.
Shelbe
Would you recommend the new 5150 or 2012 demarini voodoo? Joe
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and the Rawlings 5150 are great, balanced bats. The difference is that the Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid and the 5150 is a one-piece alloy.
Shelbe
What is the difference between this bat and the Nike MC2. i know that they are both have composite handles and alloy barrels. Is one more topheavy than the other? buckeye
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Nike MC2 are balanced bats and going to be very similar in the box.
Sean
Which is better CF5 or the Voodoo? Voodoo hitting
It really depends on if you want a two-piece composite bat or a two-piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo would be better for a contact hitter.
K.B.
Is this a good bat for Slow Pitch Softball Jeff
No, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is not approved for slow pitch leagues.
Linda
This bat, the CF5 or any of the power brigades? I hit a lot of doubles and singles but I can also hit some out if I get a hold of them. Liked the Voodoos in the past but this bat seems really top heavy? And how is the pop for a BBCOR? So if you do say power brigades which model (XL or S) and what specific model(1,2,3). Thanks so much. thbaseball guy
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is not end loaded, it is balanced, as is the Easton S series and DeMarini CF5. The XL series is the only end loaded bat that you referenced. Because you are a singles/doubles hitter, I recommend either the Voodoo, S series or CF5. The S1 is a two-piece composite, the S2 is a two-piece hybrid and the S3 is a one-piece alloy.
Linda
Would you guys prefer the 5150 or the Voodoo? Thanks dodgerfan340
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Rawlings 5150 are both great bats but very different. The Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid and would be a good choice for a contact hitter. The 5150 is a one-piece alloy and would be a good choice for a power hitter.
Linda
My son is looking at this bat versus the 5150 Velo. He would be considered a contact hitter. Which would be a better fit? Marc
Generally contact hitters prefer a two-piece bat like the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and power hitters prefer one-piece bats like the Rawlings 5150 Velo.
Alex
Does this bat meet the "Qualified BBCOR Bat" rule beginning in 2012. If not what would be the best bat for both USSSA and Jr High? Ann
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is BBCOR certified.
TJ
Is this 2012 Voodoo DXVDC approved for use in 2012 USSSA league? scott
No, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo DXVDC is not USSSA 1.15 BPF approved. The Voodoo DXVDC is a BBCOR bat. If you're looking for a USSSA Voodoo, check out the Senior and Junior League Voodoos. http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-voodoo--dxvdr-senior-league/13533/. http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-voodoo--dxvdl-youth/13532/
Kara
I got last years BBCOR Voodoo, and I understand that this isn't it, but it went off because it sold out, but it doesnt have the Voodoo end cap, should i get a refund for this? conor
There is a 12-month manufacturer's warranty for the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo. If there is something wrong with the end cap, contact Demarini at 1-800-245-5454 for warranty details.
Reed
Will this bat be legal for high school baseball in 2012 season? scott
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is approved for high school play in 2012.
John
Is it going to be worth the money everyone says it is but I want your opinion? jtsredsox
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is an excellent bat and has great pop.
Linda
Does this bat have a BPF 1.15 rating? We are being told that the league is going to require this rating. Son is in between select and high school. I know it is lagal for high but not sure about the league Earnie
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo DXVDC is not USSSA 1.15 BPF approved. It is a BBCOR bat. The Voodoo DXCD5 and DXVDR are USSSA 1.15 BPF approved.
Sean
What advantages does end loaded bats have over a balanced bat or vice versa. kai
An end loaded bat will provide more pop whereas a balanced bat will help increase swing speed.
Sean
Can the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat be used in cold weather? Dave
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a good bat for cold weather. However, we do not recommend using any bat under 55 degrees.
Linda
Is a drop 3 BBCOR bat legal in USSSA for 2012? There is a lot of confusion on this new stamp. ET
Yes, you can use a BBCOR bat in USSSA leagues. However, you can not use a USSSA bat in high school or college play.
Derek H.
Is this bat durable? Also does it have good bat tape and does this bat chip easily? KB13
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a durable bat with good bat tape and we haven't heard any complaints about the paint chipping.
KB
Does this or the Easton S series have more pop? Does the pop change if it's like a S3 or the S1? Which on feels lighter? dave
The Easton S series is more balanced than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo. Both the Voodoo and S series have excellent pop.
KB
I am a contact hitter and I am looking forward to buying this, EXO G2, or the S3. which one would you recommend? It will be great if you name the best one. beng
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo, Louisville Slugger EXOGRID2 and Easton S3 are all great choices. They all have great pop, balanced feel and large sweet spots.
KG
The DeMarini Voodoo or the Marucci Black? BigNasty
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Marucci Black are two-piece hybrids with an alloy barrel and composite handle. Both are great options and will come down to your own personal choice.
John
Compared to the 5150 is it more top heavy than the 5150 or the same? Spartans
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has a slight end loaded feel when compared to the well balanced Rawlings 5150.
Josh
Trying to decide between the Easton S2 and VooDoo for High School team. Pop, Vibration, Size of sweet spot are factors. Help. bob
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Easton S2 are two-piece hybrids and will have similar performance. It comes down to player preference.
John
Is this bat available with a drop 3 rating for a HS player? Is this approved for N.C. Highs School play? Rod
Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is a drop 3. Drop 3 refers to the difference in the length and weight of the bat. Since it is BBCOR certified, it will be legal in high school play.
Nick
i am looking at two BBCOR bats this one, and the Easton S2, and I was wandering which one you guys recommend? I'm not a very powerful guy so which would be better suited. Alex
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Easton S2 are both two-piece hybrids. The Voodoo is slightly more end loaded than the balanced S2 but both bats have very good pop and would be good options for a line drive hitter.
John
I am a 5'9" 140lbs line drive 2 hole hitter. I am trying to decided between the Combat B3 or the Voodoo. Which is the best bat for me in YOUR OPINION (Don't say they're both great bats, pick one). 23
The COMBAT B3 has a composite barrel and the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has an alloy barrel. Picking between the two will be more on what you like to hit. If you like composite bats, get the B3. If you like hitting alloy, get the Voodoo. These are very good BBCOR bats and the reviews have been great on both.
KG
I'm looking at two BBCOR bats for next year in high school and it's between the Easton Surge and the Voodoo. Any recommendations? (I'm 5'10" playing on a very short but high fence too if it matters). PJ
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a very good bat and has good pop. Both the Voodoo and Surge are two-piece hybrids and it will be more of a personal preference.
KG
Hey, I'm a 13 years old, 5 '8 and about 120. I'm a linedrive hitter with some power and considering this and the Easton Omen. I would like a durable bat with POP. Eagles2016
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and Easton Omen are both two-piece hybrids and good options for a line drive hitter. Both are durable, will improve once they are broken in and have great pop.
Shelbe
Can't choose between this and Omen. I'd be playing year round, but I like the composite sound of the omen. which bat would PERFORM better? Eagles2016
The Easton Omen will have a break-in period of 150-200 swings but would have similar pop as the Voodoo. The Omen's composite barrel will improve over time as the composite continues to break-in but the Voodoo's alloy barrel will be at its hottest the day you buy it.
Shelbe
Would you reccomend using a wood bat over BBCOR? They both seem to have the same pop. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? naj
BBCOR was meant to level the playing field and make alloy and composite bats perform more like wood bats. There are great BBCOR bats out there that still have a lot of pop. You would end up going through a lot more wood bats in a season instead of going through one BBCOR bat.
Ryan
Is it top heavy? Also is the BBCOR Easton Omen -3 top-heavy? big cat
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded. The Easton Omen is a balanced bat.
KB
Which bat is better for a contact hitter this one or the Nano Tek? freefit22
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat which is usually preferred by contact hitters. A two-piece bat offers a more little flexibility and pop for the hitter. The Anderson NanoTek is a one-piece design which is typically preferred by power hitters. A one-piece design makes the bat more stiff and really helps with the power. Here is a link to all of our two-piece BBCOR certified bats in case you need any more suggestions: http://www.justbats.com/products/baseball%20bats~adult/approved%20for~bbcor/material~half%20and%20half/
Jennifer
Do they make a 35"? tom
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is currently only made in a 34" barrel.
Brad
The longest size available in the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a 34".
Kara
What bat is balanced better Voodoo or Easton S2? none
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded and the Easton S2 is very balanced.
Shelbe
How is the weight distributed? Ram
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a slightly end loaded bat. For additional information on Demarini bats contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
Which bat is better, the Voodoo or the CF5? Blt
Composite barrel bats like the DeMarini CF5 tend to perform better over their lifespan than an alloy barrel bat. It will take some time to break in, unlike the Voodoo which is hot out of the wrapper. Both are very high quality bats.
KB
I am 5'6" 135lbs 13 years old. stronger than most 13 year olds. I like this bat. I have had another voodoo before and I like it. I'm very interested in purchasing this bat but don't know whether I should get it in 32in 29oz or 31in 28oz. Thank you for your time. Camo
At 5'6", I recommend a 31" bat.
Tyler
Deciding on a 31/28 and heard good things about the DeMarini Voodoo, Rip-It, also Easton's series Having trouble deciding can you provide input? dpak
All three are great bats. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat that may be better suited for contact hitters looking to add some pop. The Rip-It's are great bats for players with good swing speed and above average strength. The XL Series from Easton are slightly endloaded and better for stronger hitters where their S Series is better for players who don't hit for as much power.
Tyler
Besides the price, what are the differences between the Voodoo and the Vexxum? Nick
The main difference is the materials they are made out of. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is made out of a higher grade alloy, a different composite material in the handle and a different end cap than the DeMarini Vexxum. Other than these differences, both bats are two-piece hybrids and will perform just about the same.
Jennifer
What size bat would you recommend for my 13 year old son who is 5'8" 135lbs. none
A good size BBCOR bat for your son will be a 32-33" bat. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo DXVDC has been a very popular bat and will have good pop.
Kris
Is there a difference in performance from this bat and the -5 because this bat is bacon? Double H
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a BBCOR bat and designed to perform like a wooden bat. The -5 is a USSSA certified bat and will have a little more pop.
Tyler
Would it be worth it to get this bat for my first year in Juniors Little League and hope it lasts until high school or should I get the -5 which would last better but wouldn't be legal for high school? Double H
That depends. If you have never swung a Adult -3 bat before, it may be a difficult transition. I recommend going to a local sporting goods store and taking a few hacks with some adult baseball bats. If you feel comfortable swinging an adult bat and do not see a drop in swing speed or control, you should be good. If not, go with a -5.
Tyler
What size bat should i get for high school? I'm 5' 10" and 200 pounds. hunter
Based on your height and weight, a 33" 30 oz. bat would be the best option.
Tyler
Whats the difference between the 2012 Black Voodoo and the White one? Mbyrne159
Not much has changed. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a little more durable and will have a similar performance.
Tyler
How do you gauge what size bat is proper for a player? My son is 6'3 and 205 and is 16 years old. He's currently using a 33-3, can he go up to a 34-3? Chief
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 34" bat. A good tool to use is our Bat Coach; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
KB
I'm a contact hitter, would you recommend this bat or the Exo? Nick
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat with more flex. It will be better suited for contact hitters like yourself.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Voodoo and the Vexxum? Doug
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR has a slightly longer barrel and will feel a little more end loaded than the DeMarini Vexxum.
Kara
What is the difference between the Youth and Adult? big mike
Youth bats will be 2 1/4" bats that come in various weights. Adult bats will be 2 5/8" bats and come only in a -3 weight.
Kris
Is the DeMarini Voodoo great for power hitters and light for a fast swing? pete
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid and better suited for contact hitters. Power hitters typically prefer a one-piece bat design.
Jennifer
About how long will it take to break in? murph on the mound
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR has an alloy barrel and doesn't require a break in like a composite bat.
Tyler
How would you compare the pop and balance between the Voodoo and Rawlings 5150 Velo? JMS
Since both bats have alloy barrels, pop will be similar for each one. As far as balance goes, the Voodoo is slightly end loaded and the 5150 Velo is more balanced.
Jennifer
How would you compare the DXVDC with the BB12Z? The Detroit Tigers
I would start by pointing out the differences in construction. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Louisville Slugger Z-1000 is a one-piece bat that is all composite. The Voodoo will offer more flex as it is a two-piece bat. The Z-1000 is much stiffer as it is a one-piece model. Both bats have tremendous pop for a BBCOR bat and both are well balanced. The Z-1000 may be better for a stronger hitter with above average swing speed. The Voodoo I would like if I was a contact or gap hitter looking to improve my power.
Tyler
Is it USSSA approved? chad
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is not USSSA approved, it is BBCOR certified. Adult bats will not have the same USSSA certification as youth and youth big barrel bats. If you are looking for a USSSA approved bat you will need to look for a youth, youth big barrel, or a senior league bat.
Bobby
How balanced is the Voodoo BBCOR? Is it balanced throughout our more top heavy? Big Nate
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR has a slight end load feel.
KB
How does the BBCOR Voodoo compare to the BBCOR CF5 or Easton Surge? contacthitter
The DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece, all composite bat and is DeMarini's top of the line model. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton Surge is similar to the Voodoo as it too has an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Tyler
I have had the Voodoo for about 5 months now and about a week after I got it I noticed that if you turned the bat over I would hear a noise that sounds like beads rolling around on the inside. I always thought this was normal but another player on my team with the same model does not have this problem. Coud you tell me if that means it is cracked on the inside or it might have any other problem? Biggum Dylan
Sometimes little pieces break off as the composite breaks down and make a rattling sound. This shouldn't affect the performance of the bat, but if you feel the performance has been comprimised you can utilize the 12-month manufacturers warranty. You can contact Demarini at 1-800-937-2287 for warranty details.
Derek
I am a gap hitter should I get the voodoo or the rawlings 5150? Tigersfan
Both the DeMarini Voodoo and the Rawlings 5150 would be great options for a gap hitter. The main difference between the two bats is the DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid (composite handle/aluminum barrel) and the Rawlings 5150 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/

What would be the best bat or bats for a 13 year old 5'8" 150 lb power hitting player? I'm thing 32/29 is that good? Also looking at Voodoo, Prototype II, and XL bats? Thanks for your help. Frank
Based on the height and weight of the player, a 32" 29oz. would be the right size to use. If you are looking for a power hitter, the Easton XL3 or the RIP-IT Prototype II are great options to consider. Both are one-piece designs that will be very stiff and help generate more power.
Jennifer

My son is 14. 240lbs- 5'8" curently uses a 33" Voodoo and is very comfortable with it. Is there much difference in the 33.5" bat? He is hitting his growth spurt and needing to buy a BBCOR bat for school. Little Bear
Per our Bat Coach tool on our website, your son should use a 33"-34" bat, so the 33.5" 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR should work fine for him. Since he is hitting his growth spurt and getting stronger, moving up a 1/2" and 1/2 oz. should't negatively affect his swing speed.
Derek H.
I'm 240 and 6 feet age 16. I usually destroy the ball. What size should I have? I don't want to sacrifice any bat speed. Al
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest going with a 33" 2012 DeMarini Voodoo. If you need more help trying to find the right size of bat for you, feel free to use our bat coach feature located on our webpage. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jennifer
My son is undecided between the Voodoo, the Rawlings 5150, and the Easton S3. What are the primary differences? Seems hard to pass up this price on the Voodoo but he seems like a contact hitter but would like to be a power hitter. Hit with the Easton Reflex last year and liked it. ladybird
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel whereas the Rawlings 5150 and Easton S3 are both one-piece alloy bats. Two-piece bats are generally preferred by contact hitters and one-piece bats are generally preferred by power hitters, so your decision should be based your son's personal hitting style.
Derek H.

I'm about to purchase a baseball bat for my son. Which is a better bat the Marrucci Black or the DeMarini Voodoo. He is more of a contact hitter with some power and already has great bat speed. cal
The Marucci Black and the DeMarini Voodoo are both great bats that would be a good choice for your son. Both of these bats have alloy barrels with composite handles, have great pop and will last quite a while. You can't really go wrong with either!
Jennifer
I just recently bought both the Voodoo and the Vexxum, both -3 BBCOR. I heard that BBCOR bats need to be broken in, but I've also heard that the Voodoo is only good for about 1000 hits, and I planned on using it more than the Vexxum. Is this true and what should I do? evan
All BBCOR bats, as a whole, do not need to be broken in. Composite-barreled bats need to be broken in, and neither the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and the DeMarini Vexxum have a composite barrel. They are both two-piece hybrids with a composite handle and alloy barrel and are game ready the day you got them.
Derek H.
Is this bat legal for 15u travel ball and what is the performance difference between this bat and the 2012 Demarini CF5? scott
The DeMarini Voodoo is legal for 15U travel ball. This bat has an alloy barrel, while the DeMarini CF5 has a composite barrel. With that being said, composite bats do tend to offer a little more pop due to the trampoline effect the composite material creates.
Jennifer
Does this bat require a break-in? Jason8a
Since the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo has an alloy barrel, it will not require a break-in. Only composite barrel bats will require a break-in.
Jennifer

Kara
I'm debating whether to get a Combat Caliber 52 or a Demarini Voodoo... Any Suggestions? HomerunHitter25
Both the COMBAT 52 Caliber and the Demarini Voodoo are tremendous bats. The best advice we could give is weather you like the stiff feel of a one-piece fully composite bat which is the 52 cal. Or if you like the flex of a two-piece bat with the half alloy barrel/ composite handle Voodoo. Which ever is most suited for you as a hitter would be the option you should go with.
Ryan
I have one of these bats in a 32" and I was just wondering how long they last? I've had it for about a year and have used it year round except some days in winter. b.i.g.
There is no standard time frame on a bat life. There are a lot of factors that play into the longevity of each bat. But typically a bat should last you a couple of seasons with proper use. The more it is used the less life expectancy it will have.
Ryan

TR3 Composite is strong, stable, and predictable - without any unnecessary weight.

That all comes down to your own personal preference. I can tell you from years of experience, players definitely have different preferences when it comes to bats. Neither is considered "better" than the other, and since both are two piece bats, they do a good job of dampening vibrations.

I am 5' 3", and 130lbs what size should I get? I'm more of a contact/line drive hitter, not a power hitter, would you recommend this bat for me? cosmo
the 2012 Demarini Voodoo is going to have an end loaded feel to it. It does have a two-piece design which is preferred by a contact hitter, but the Easton S2 might be a better bat for you.
Noah
I understand that the Easton XL3 is more of a power bat, and I would like to get a power bat, and a bat for faster pitchers such as the Easton S3. Is the Voodoo more of a power bat or speed bat? Would it make more sense to get the Vexxum and Voodoo Bat Pack, or Voodoo and XL3 Bat pack? Sam
The DeMarini Voodoo has a slightly end loaded feel making it a good choice for hitters with above average strength and swing speed. The DeMarini Vexxum will be more of a balanced bat compared to the Voodoo and Easton XL3.
Tyler
My son is 5' >100 lbs. Needs a -3 for high school. What size bat should I get (he has been using a 30" -9 Voodoo)? jeff
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is slightly end loaded. We would recommend a more balanced bat like the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC for the transition to a BBCOR bat. We suggest a 30" 27 oz.
Kara
Is it appropriate for my kid? He is 14 years old, 5'9" tall and 165 pounds. charly
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat would be fine for a 14 year old high school player. Using the Bat Coach Feature on JustBats.com I was able to determine that he should be swinging a bat length of 32".
Brandon
Our daughter is 13 and plays on a softball team that won PA state title last year. She is 5'6" and 140 pounds. What bat do you recommend. She's strong, athletic, and plays 3rd base. Wiesbaden
Using the Bat Coach Feature on JustBats.com I was able to determine that your daughter should be swinging a bat length of 33". The Bat Coach also recommends bats. Check these out: The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch, 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFS Fastpitch, and the 2012 DeMarini Vendetta C6: DXVCF Fastpitch bat. These are the top three selections that your daughter should be looking at.
Brandon
Out of these bats which one should I buy? It's my first BBCOR bat ever. I'm a power hitting 13 year old. brummie21
Yes, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat would be a good choice for your first BBCOR model. Since you are a power hitter and like the slightly end-loaded feel, this bat would work well. It will be a two-piece hybrid design. It will feature a composite handle and an alloy barrel. This bat will require no period of break-in.
Brandon
Which one is better the CF5 or the Voodoo? I want to buy one of them. mario
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat will be a two-piece design. It will have a composite handle with a alloy barrel. This bat will have a slight end-load typically favored by power hitters. This bat will require no period of break-in. The 2012 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat will also be two-piece but will be 100% composite material. This bat will be very Balanced in swing weight and not be End-Loaded at all. This bat will require a period of break-in of about 100-200 swings. You can break-in the barrel by hitting balls from a tee or soft toss. Just be sure to rotate the bat 1/4" after each swing. Be sure and do this before any game use. Both bats come with a 12-month warranty through DeMarini.
Brandon
I really like the reviews of this bat. I'm trying to figure out if it is suited for a smaller player who is a contact hitter with pop. MIRR
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat has weight placement closer to the taper rather than in the barrel which allows DeMarini to maintain the integrity of the sweetspot and keep swing speeds at their fastest! It should work well for either a power hitter or contact hitter.
Jeff
Aside from the color design, is there any difference between the 2012 and 2013 DeMarini Voodoo? Baseball Dad
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo has upgraded alloy that increases the durability and performance over the 2012 model.
Aubrey

Tyler

Kara

Tyler
I am looking at getting this bat at 32.5", 29.5 oz. and and the Easton XL3 33" 30oz. Are these correct sizes for a 15 year old who's 5'9? John
Our Bat Coach is a great tool to help determine bat size: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
What are the differences between this bat and the Nike Adult MC2? 123456789
Both the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat and the Nike Aero MC2 BBCOR: BT0633 baseball bats are very similar. They are both two-piece half and half bats, however; the Voodoo is slightly endloaded and is not quite as balanced as the Nike MC2.
Jeff
Looking for a BBCOR Voodoo bat for a 15 year old who is 140lbs and 5'10. Should I go with 32 inch? Shanna
We recommend the 32" 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult.
Kara
I'm 15, 170 lbs. and 6'1" and need a new bat that is similar to the Demarini Voodoo. What bat should I get and at what length? Ben
At your size I would recommend swinging at bat length of 33". The most popular bat in the adult BBCOR size is the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult. There is a 33" and 33.5" available. Something similar to the Voodoo's make up and feel would be this bat: 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult.
Brandon
Why does DeMarini put numbers on the bat cap that go in the order 1,3,5,7 going from the right to the left? collin
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat does have numbers on the end cap of the bat. This is to help you as a hitter. You can keep track of what side of the bat you are hitting on. It will keep you from wearing out one side of the bat.
Brandon
What bats are similar to the DeMarini Voodoo? Joe
The Easton XL2 and Easton S2 would be comparable bats due to their two-piece hybrid design.
Zach
Is there a 2013 model out yet? Todd
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC has been on the market since April 2012: http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-voodoo-bbcor--dxvdc-adult/15470/
Tyler
My son is 5'9" 148 contact hitter, would this bat good for him and what size? baseball mom
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat should work well for your son. I would also recommend looking at the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC White Adult bat because it is a more balanced bat better suited to contact hitters. A 32" 29 oz. bat would be just about right for him.
Jeff
What's the difference between the Voodoo and the Exogrid BBCOR bats? Big Mike
The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and aluminum barrel. The Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID is technically a one-piece aluminum bat but it does have composite inserts in the handle.
Tom
What is a good size bat for a 13 year old power hitter? mr.frank

Noah
Will this be legal for 2013? In high school league? JHS
Yes. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is BBCOR approved and legal in High School.
Tyler
Should I get the Voodoo, Easton S2, or the Z-1000? I am a 5'10" 145 pound contact and power hitter. Ernie
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat and the Easton S2 are both two-piece hybrid designs. They have an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000 BBCOR: BB12Z Adult bat is a one-piece composite design and will feel more stiff than the previous two bats. The DeMarini Voodoo has a slight end load feel and the Easton S2 and Louisville Slugger Z-1000 have more balanced swing weights. Choosing between the three will be what you think is the best fit.
Aubrey
What will give better performance, the 2012 Voodoo or the 2013 CF5? I'm 6' 175 and am a power/line drive hitter. niko
Both bats are great options. For best results, it's recommended a player swing what feels best to them. The difference between these bats is found in the materials. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a two-piece, alloy barrel/composite handle, end loaded bat, that is best suited for power hitters. The CF5 is a two-piece composite bat with a low swing weight which gives the player a faster swing speed. Either one is good for you.
Kara
I am 13, 144 pounds, and I am 5' 3", and I wondering what size DeMarini Voodoo I should use? Andrew H
Our bat coach is a great tool on our website to find out which size is best for you, but I would recommend going with a 31" bat,
Noah
Our son just turned 17 he is 6 feet tall and weighs 185. Has medium strength. Hit a couple of home runs over fence last year coaches really emphasize batting average and on base percentage, he has been the 3 and 4 hitter in the line up on both varsity and the Babe Ruth teams last year. He has fairly long arms. Wondering which Voodoo bat size you would recommend? We think the 1/2 sizes are very interesting. microdad
That is hard for us to say without knowing what the length and weight of his current bat is. Also, our Bat Coach is a great tool to help determine what size is best: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
I am currently using a 32/29 Voodoo. I need a bigger size. I am thinking about getting either another Voodoo or a CF5. I can swing my Voodoo just fine with a really good bat speed. I hit more for power. I am wondering which bat would benefit me most, or which one would have more pop. Bandits
Both have excellent pop. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is more end loaded than the CF5, better for a power hitter with good bat speed.
Kara

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC uses upgraded composite and alloy materials for a better durability and performance. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC will be more end loaded than the 2012 Voodoo and the 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR. If you need to increase your bat speed, the 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR would be a better choice.
Kara

Frank
How much of a difference is the 29.5 oz and the 29 oz (size and weight wise)? Could it affect my bat speed? Jack
A 29.5 oz. model will be .5 oz. heavier and .5" longer. Any increase in weight has the potential to slow a player's swing.

Noah
I am 5' 5" and weigh about 148lbs. Would a 33" 30oz. be good for me? joey

Does this bat run out of pop? I've had this bat for a year and a half and I want to know if there is an indicator that forebodes me purchasing another bat. DK
The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) bat has consistently been one of our top sellers and a high performing alloy barrel bat. Unfortunately, with all bats there is a finite lifespan. The lifespan varies based on how the bat is used. Factors such as cold weather use, frequency of use, whether the bat is used by multiple players, and whether the bat is used for both practice and games can affect the lifespan. We suggest not using the bat in conditions under 55 degrees and using the bat to hit only approved baseballs (yellow dimpled cage balls can affect durability).

The biggest difference is that the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR: (DXVDC) will incorporate D-Fusion Handle Technology to help eliminate vibrations, and extend the sweet spot on the barrel. This extra technology will ultimately be the biggest difference between these two models.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
