Description

DeMarini wood bats have developed a reputation as some of the highest quality maple wood bats on the field. With a barrel made from pro grade maple wood, the D110 has the strength and durability one might expect from a DeMarini bat... nd then some. Known for its hardness, maple wood is usually pretty durable. However, DeMarini takes this durability a step further with the addition of a composite wood handle. This combination of materials creates one of the strongest wood bats you'll find anywhere and makes the D110 nearly unbreakable. The handle is also coated with a synthetic finish that drastically improves the grip and feel of the D110. This maple/composite design provides players with an ever so slight amount of flex that is not typically found in a maple-only wood bat. The 110 turn also produces a nicely balanced feel and a larger sweet spot for more trampoline than your conventional wood bats. If you're tired of suffering through broken wood bats that just don't get the job done, step up to the plate and try a DeMarini Pro Maple Composite wood bat today! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The D110 is BBCOR Certified and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Three (3) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: The bat is very well balanced and is comfortable in my hands. Perfect for any highschool or adult league that requires wooden bats and allows a composite handle.

Cons: My first one broke within 2 weeks. I took less than 100 swings and it broke right where the maple meets the composite. I have not run into this problem with my newest replacement.

Cons: NONE! and I have purchased just about every bat made wood and alloy for my boys.

They are the same bat. The DX110 is just the newer model.

Is this bat BBCOR certified? Am I able to use it at the high school level in Georgia? Is it top heavy? Robby M
Yes, this bat is BBCOR certified. This will be a well balanced bat for a wood bat.
John
Which is better dx110 or dx271? This is the first time that I will buy a maple bat, so please help me out. Makanero
Believe it or not they are virtually the same bat. The only difference I see is that the DX271 is identified as BBCOR certified.
Bodie
My son is unusually large for an 11 year old. He plays on a travel team most of the year, however they shut down for little league. I have recently purchased this bat for him and I would like for him to use it during the little league season. Is there any reason why this bat would not suffice for little league? Paul
This bat should be okay for play because it is a composite wood bat with a BBCOR certification, but always check with your coach of league official.
Shelbe
Is this BBCOR certified? bob
This bat is BBCOR certified. If you look at the small group of pictures at the top of the webpage, and enlarge the bottom left picture, you will be able to see the BBCOR certified stamp on the bat.
Jennifer
My son plays junior high school ball in New York. They have to use BBCOR bats. Is this one legal? Rino
The DeMarini Maple Wood Bat: DX110 is BBCOR certified.
Kara
Is this bat classified as wood? I need to use a wood bat in a couple of upcoming tournaments. -
Yes. But you might check to see if the tournaments will allow wood bats with composite material in the handle.
Damon
According to DeMarini, the DX110 is balanced and the DX243 is end-loaded. What other composite bats would you recommend that are balanced? AT
The DeMarini DX271 would be balanced as well. Any bat with a 271 or 110 turn will be a balanced wood bat.
Tom

The Demarini Maple Wood (DX110) has an approximate -2 to -3 length to weight ratio. If you are using a 31" the approximate weight would be 28oz-29oz.
John
What bat has a bigger barrel/sweet spot? This bat or the DeMarini 271 wood bat? derek
Both the DX110 and DX271 have the same size sweetspot. All Adult wood bats will have similar size sweetspots because wood is a solid material in which consistency and sweetspot size cannot be adjusted.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for Legion? J
Yes, the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX110 Adult is legal for legion play because it is BBCOR certified.
Frank

If I order a 32 inch, what will the weight be? I play high school, and need a -3 so would it be a 32" 29 oz.? SammyB
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX110 has an approximate -2 to -3 length to weight ratio. This means a 32" model will weigh approximately 29 or 30 oz.
Tyler
Does this have a lot of pop, I use my DeMarnini Voodoo and want to know if this bat has lots of pop? And will it break easily? SammyB
It's hard to compare a wood bat to a hybrid bat. A DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX110 Adult will have much less pop than a Voodoo. Additionally, wood bats don't need to be broken in.
Kevin
Whats the difference between this wood bat, the DeMarini DX243, and DX271 wood bats? Patrick
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX110 Adult, DX243, and DX271 all have different turn models. The turn model dictates characteristics of the bat like barrel diameter, handle thickness, and balance. For specific information on all three turn models, check out this link to our JustBats blog: http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3452/wood-bat-series-part-2-turn-models
Mac
The DX110 is BBCOR. The older model D110, often advertised as 2008 model, is BBCOR certified. I understand that the D110 therefore has more pop. Can you confirm this? innermarker
As a general rule, bats that do not have a BBCOR stamp will be hotter, or have more pop. However, the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Bat: DX110 Adult is still a very high performing bat.
Kara
Whats the difference between this bat and the B45 141? I know they have different turning models, but is that the only difference? Brady

Bobby
On Amazon they have the 2008 model of these comps. How would they compare to the BBCOR models sold here? SammyG
the 2008 model will be very similar to the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110). However, since the older model does not carry a BBCOR stamp it may not be legal for play. You can give DeMarini a call directly at 800-937-2287 to learn more.

Ben
What is a "turning model"? baseball dad
Wood bats such as the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110 Adult) will all feature a turn model. The "turn model" of a wood bat can be considered a 'blueprint' for various characteristics that affect its swing weight and feel.
Joe
I have a question regarding the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult and the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX243 Adult. I currently own a 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and I am looking for something similar to it but not overly top heavy. Between these two bats which one is better to go with and which one will last the longest? Baseball King
The Voodoo, by design, is end-loaded or "top heavy" so a wood bat that would be like it would have a end-loaded feel like the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX243). If you are wanting something more balanced, I would go with the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110). Both bats should have similar durability.
Patrick
Can I use his bat for high school varsity? mikey
Yes, the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110) Adult is BBCOR certified, so it is legal for high school play.
Chinyere
What is the actual weight of the 34 inch bat? andy
The actual weight of the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110) in each size is not listed because it can vary slightly based on the density of the maple used to construct each bat.
Patrick
What size should I buy? I am 5'7" and 115 lbs. shortstop57
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult.
Jason
What size should I get? I'm 5'4" and 179 lbs. otero baseball
We would recommend a 32" for a player with your height and weight.
John
Is this bat as durable as a BAUM bat? jason
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult is a very durable composite wood baseball bat. Will it be more durable than the BAUM bat? This is something that we would highly doubt just do to the construction of the BAUM bat.
Cameron
Son is 5'7" and 125 pounds. Should he use a 31 or 32 inch wood bat? dew
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 31" DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult.
John P.
What is the main difference between this bat and the other models such as D271 and D243? Doogz
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110) Adult and the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX243) have a composite handle and maple barrel, whereas the DeMarini Pro Maple Wood Baseball Bat (DX271MB) is all maple. Additionally the numbers 110, 243, and 271 refer to the turning models which are the different specs of the bats in regards to handle, barrel, taper, etc. Visit our website for a description of the specs of these turning models: http://www.justbats.com/buying-guides/baseball-bats/wood/
Damon
Is this bat legal in the MLB and minor leagues? Alex
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult is not legal for the MLB or the minor leagues. Bats need to be fully ash, maple, or birch to be legal for play in the MLB or the minor leagues. Composite is not legal for play for those leagues.
Jason

Ben
I am 63 years old. I stand 5'10" and weigh 240 lbs. I am joining a senior league and I am a power hitter. What would you recommend for me? Wayne
If you are playing in a senior baseball league that requires use of wood bats, then I would definitely recommend this bat for use (it is a very popular bat as it is well balanced / both power hitters and contact hitters can use it). Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend thinking about a 33" bat.
Ben
I have a 32 inch D110 DeMarini and sometimes when I hit it makes a buzzing sound. Does that mean it's broken? JC1515
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult features a composite wood handle that will help this bat last longer from off-centered hits. The bat, if it were broken, will typically begin to separate from where the handle and the maple barrel connect. If this part is still in tact and there are no visible breaks along the handle of the bat then the noise you are hearing should have no bearing on the bat's performance.
Cameron
DeMarini 110 or 243? daniiel
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat (DX110) Adult is going to feature the 110 turn model.
Carter
I'm 21 years old, 5'10" and 180 pounds. May I use a 33 or 32 inch DeMarini DX110 bat? Bob
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model of the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult.
Jason
My son is 11 yo. He is 5 ft and 92 lbs. Is this a good size practice bat? He is currently using a 30" CU26 and I'm looking for something to bridge this season to next as he moves up in size and weight. rocky joe
The DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult would be a good practice bat. The composite material will offer better durability for the many reps taken in practice, and is a well balanced bat for moving up in size.
Logan
Does the ball travel further than if hit with a regular wooden bat? chooch
The ball doesn't necessarily travel further with composite wood bat like the DeMarini Pro Maple Composite Wood Baseball Bat: DX110 Adult, but the composite material offers more durability so the bats do not break as easily, and this particular bat would carry a 3 month manufacturer's warranty.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
