I've been absolutely crushing 44 Cor balls with the black Aftermath. However, after about 150 swings, I'm noticing major peeling of outer skin along an increasingly visible "seam" (or is it a crack?). I've heard this problem is due to "harder" 44 Cor ball and wouldn't be as prevalent with new 52 Cor ball. True? Also, is the newer green Aftermath more durable?
Asked by Kenny
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath (DXFLS Slow Pitch) has a multi-wall barrel designed for high COR low compression balls. The 44 Cor balls would most likely not help the durability of this bat in the long run. The peeling you are seeing could be a seam or crack, I am uncertain. I would call DeMarini at 1-800-937-2287 and let them know. This bat has a 12 month warranty from DeMarini so a replacement can be shipped directly to you.
Why did this bat get discontinued?
Asked by T
The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath (DXFLS) was replaced by the 014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14). The design is the only difference.
Is there a difference between the 2013 & the 2014 Flipper? Is it just the graphics?
Asked by JR
The 2013 and the 2014 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath (DXFLS) use the same quality composite and alloy materials. Both are very high performing and durable.
Two years before founder Ray DeMarini started his own company in 1989, he was hired by ESPN as the advisor and host of a series of instructional softball videos. To this day, Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System is still ESPN's most successful home video.
Taking his expertise and credibility to his self-named company, DeMarini made headlines in 1993 with the world's first multi-wall bat, the Doublewall. Innovation hasn't let up since, as the company continues to be a trend-setter in baseball and softball bats.
