I loved this bat when I first got it. If you are confused on wether you should get the insane or just the regular -10, just ask yourself how you like the weight distributed. If you like it endloaded go with the insane. It's a great bat, and also if you are a parent buying one for your kid, I would get the CF4 even though there are CF5's there is not a big diffrence and you could save up to a hundred dollars some places. This is coming for the girl who has a CF4 insane and a CF5.

Solid bat; looks nice. Now that it is somewhat broke in it has excellent distance. Expect much more as it racks up hits.
2010 CF4 did not require near as much hitting to break in. Compared to other brands it seems like it doesnt need break in...but in reality it does. About 100+ hits in batting practice, making sure to rotate each time, and the bat was performing great!
Bought it for my 12 year old niece and she loves it. From the time I took her to the cages and watched her knock the plastic cover off to four games later, she is absolutely driving the ball! The length and weight is perfect for her and she is getting her hands through the hitting zone faster than ever with lots of pop. Her favorite color is yellow so that makes it even better.
A little vibration on mishits. Strictly my assessment, however, she says it's minimal compared to other bats she has had (this is her first top tier bat).

There is not a set time on when bats will loose their "pop". DeMarini has improved their technology every year to increase durability and lasting performance.
Is this bat going to be illegal next year?
If you play in USSSA the DeMarini CF4 Insane will be illegal next year. The DeMarini CF4 Insane doesn't have the new 2013 USSSA stamp.
Is this bat or any other bat you have going to be accepted in all leagues for girls fastpitch next year?
It's always a good idea to check your league's rulebook before purchasing a bat. This bat is ASA certified for the foreseeable future, as are nearly all of the fastpitch bats on our website. Most leagues will use ASA as a guideline.

You guys are awesome! My son broke his bat Friday evening and we couldn't find a composite anywhere locally. After breaking 2 bamboo bats in just a couple of months, we had to find a composite. We placed our order Friday night and paid for Monday delivery. It arrived early Monday afternoon - in time for him to practice... that night and for it to be passed around as a team favorite for Tuesday's game.
