Pros:  This bat has a rly good pop!!!! Just like my b1 and b3 gear! The only difference is that the weight feels more sturdy and less flimsy like the b1! It makes me feel more confident to swing more!

Cons:  Almost none! Just dont hit it on the neck!

Pros:  Inexpensive and legal, nice paint job

Cons:  Nothing spectacular about this bat, definately not what you would expect from a combat after using one of their composit bats. An average alloy bat with the combat name. My son is using the -10, 30-20.

Pros:  LL banned my sons NEW B3. So I got him the B1 for his majors tryouts / season this weekend. WOW he hit just as well as if he was using his B3!He's using the 31/19. No sting, nice pop and outstanding distance!Combat HAS NOT missed a step with this new bat.

Cons:  None so far!!

Pros:  Not Expensive.

Cons:  I ordered the -12. It states the bat is a 29" 17 oz. on the label and on the end knob. After receiving the bat we notice it felt just like a the Mauricci CAT 5 29" 19 oz. that we have. I got out the digital scale to weigh them and found that this "17 ounce" bat actually weighs 19.45 oz. It's actual weight is .1 oz higher than the CAT 5 that says it's a -10 and 29 in 19 oz. Either the manufacturer misprinted this bat as a -12 when it actually came off the -10 line or Combat thought the way you make a -12 bat is simply changing the sticker. Glad I bought from Justbats so I can return it hassle free. But until Combat figures out what weight bat they actually have I'd avoid even if it is a good price for a combat aluminum.

Pros:  Decent value, quality paint job, very balanced, long barrel.

Cons:  Stings on off center hits same as all alloys bats. Decent pop for an alloy bat but this WILL NOT replace your B1/B3, the reviews stating otherwise are misleading.

Pros:  Good quality build, nice pop. My son is 6 and this is his first season in Machine Pitch. He's using this for practice but its still a bit heavy for him.

Cons:  Feels slimmer than other bats through the handle area. Less "forgiving" than other bats on off center hits, especially for kids at this level because of the slim taper. Would like more barrel.

Pros:  Great little bat at a great price. I have paid twice the amount at retail stores for lesser quality. My six-year old hit a home run in his third game using this bat.

Cons:  None, I wish we had bought this bat sooner.

What kind of sound does this B1 make? Just curious. Which is legal for Little League play after the 2012 season the B1 or B2? Or will both will be illegal for play?

The COMBAT B1 Alloy: B1ALYB1 -12 Youth bat will have a "ping" sound. The bat is a One-Piece all Alloy design. As for the 2013 year regarding the B1 or B2 I would say that they do not have the updated USSSA stamping. I would check with a League Official or Coach before purchasing.

Does it or doesn't it have the 1.15 stamp on it?

The COMBAT B1 Alloy: B1ALYB1 -12 has the old BPF 1.15 stamp but not the new USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp that USSSA will require on youth bats beginning in 2014.

What temp do I not use it in?

Since the B1ALYB1 is an alloy bat there is no temperature restrictions on it. Composite bats are the only bats with a minimum temperature they can be played in.

My 11 yr old is a great contact hitter who hits for a pretty high average. Which bat between the new Easton S3 or Combat B1 would be better.

These are both great bats. They are both one piece, 100% alloy and great for contact hitters.

KG Expert

Both the COMBAT B1 and the Easton S3 are going to be one piece alloy bats, so they are going to perform very similarly and both bats are good choices. The COMBAT B1 is going to have thinner walls to help maximize the trampoline effect, but is still going to be pretty durable. The Easton S3 is going to be a pretty evenly balanced bat and a lower moment of inertia (M.O.I.), which will help with a faster swing speed. Both bats are good choices, and I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

What would be a better bat, (has more pop, bigger sweet spot, etc,) the B1 or the Grifter. I'm looking for something in the $100-$200 price range alloy barrel or full alloy bat. If you could recommend othe bats also something that has a 27" -12.

The B1 and the Grifter will have good pop and very durable barrels. COMBAT makes great bats that have huge sweet spots and tons of pop.

will this bat ever break? and is it better than the b3 and the b1 Thank you

This is an alloy bat. The original B1 and B3 are composite bats. This bat has pretty good durability. As for whether or not it's better than the B1 and B3, really comes down to personal preference. The original B1 and B3 may perform a little better, but this is still an excellent bat.

John Expert

Most bats have a life span on them, and come with no guarantees that they won't break. However, all our bats come with at least a one year manufacturers warranty. They will replace that bat one time if anything happens to it within a year.

is this a bat for home runs? and is the price good for the bat because people say the higher the price the better? thank you

The bat by itself has warning track power. If you muscle up I'm sure you'll get it over. Since the bat is alloy, it is a little cheaper due to the manufacturing process. It is a high quality bat that has been a high performer.

Is it best for the new little leauge rule?

This bat is approved for little league, and it would be a fine bat. As for the best, I wouldn't be able to tell you. But, it is a popular bat manufactured by an excellent company.
