Pros:  This is the first time i have hit with any two-piece bat ( i am 12 4 foot 11 1/2 and 90 pounds). I had been using a 30/18 demarini vx2 (2012) but outgrew it and wanted to try the new and special Power Brigade. after much debate and considering the voodoo, vexxum, xl2, s1, convert, reflex, and s3, we decided on the s2. Although i am still getting used to hitting with a 31" bat it is very easy to get around and perfect for a 2 strike contact hitter. i feel no vibration when i hit and have hit some rockets to the gaps. Takes no time to break-in and is great for any batter in the line-up. I hope this bat lasts forever because it is AWESOME!!!!!

Cons:  It no longer feels the same to hit with a one-piece bat and the barrel is shorter than the s1. the composite handle is way too long in my opinion. You need a practice bat for the batting cages because the rubber dimpled balls make your bat dent, scratch, smear, and overall shorten your bats durablility. The pros out number the cons??

What is the difference between YB13S1 and YB13S2? Little League says S1 is approved but S2 is not listed as approved?

The Easton S2 (YB13S2) Youth is a two-piece design with a alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton S1 (YB13S1) is a two-piece full composite design. Both models will be approved for Little League play. Little League has a "Approved Composite Bat List" which the S1 will be on. The reason why you are not seeing the S2 on the list because it features an alloy barrel.

is it okay to use this bat in a league that allows composite handles but aluminum barrels?

Yes. The Easton S2 (YB13S2) will incorporate a SIC Black Carbon Composite handle and will have a THT100 Scadium Alloy barrel. Therefore, this will be a hybrid design and will be approved for play that allows composite handles and alloy barrels.

We just purchased the Easton S2 (YB13S2) for my 8 year old son. He is in AA Little League. Will the bat get damaged if the ball is hit off the handle section? These younger players sometimes do that.

The Easton S2 (YB13S2) Youth bat will be durable and should not have any issues with breakage if the player hits a ball off the handle. If an issue with breakage does occur, the S2 does come with a full year warranty through Easton.

My son is 5 ft. tall and 130 lbs. I ordered him the 32 inch but am now starting to second guess myself. Do you think that will be ok?

For someone the size of your son we would recommend a 31" bat in general, although you can certainly go up or down 1" depending on things like if he likes to choke up on the bat, how far he stands from the plate, how strong he is for his size, etc. There are many outside factors to consider when choosing a length, but in general we would recommend a 31" bat.

I want to locate a Demarini CF5 (DXCFL) 30 inch 19 ounce -11 and I can't find one. I was wondering if you had one or knew of someone that did. My daughter plays travel softball and I am dying to buy this bat for her.

Unfortunately, we are out of stock in the Demarini CF5 (DXCFL) in the 30"/19 oz model. This model is discontinued and I was unable to find this size on our competitor's sites as well.

Description for Easton S2: YB13S2 Youth
New for 2013! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S2 is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Description for DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth
New for 2013! What happens when science meets psychosis? A chaotic design, chaotic speed, chaotic power... and total anarchy! The new CF5 uses all new technology to produce a finished product that can do some serious destruction on the diamond! Constructing the CF5 using their new TR3 F.L.O. Composite, DeMarini has successfully created their lightest swinging bat yet. TR3 F.L.O. (which stands for Fused Layer Optimized) is a cutting edge material that is the result of the random and naturally chaotic fusing of carbon fibers. This creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF5 lighter and stronger than ever before. The stronger design allows for more even weight distribution, which in turn produces faster bat speeds! This two-piece fully composite design uses Doublewall technology to give it maximum trampoline effect with the largest sweetspot possible! DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The CF5 also features a Geo End Cap that's focus is on keeping the barrel stiff and not letting energy escape through the end of the bat. This gives each and every hit an extra blast of energy. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The CF5 is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Pony, Dixie, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
