Pros:
My 8 year son is hitting the ball harder and further than he ever has. Switched from an Easton SV12, and I see a noticeable difference in his power.
Cons:
Expensive bat for a Little League player.

Pros:
looks nice good grip nice pop to it
Cons:
During the second game of the season my son hit a triple and left it with a ding it didn't seam like a very hard hit or anything. Afterwards remembering about the warranty I wanted to trade it in but if you read the FINE PRINT ''it doesn't cover small dings and there bats are made of ultra thin walls to maximize performance''. By the way YOU pay shipping for a chance that it might be exchanged. In the end I say it's an ok bat if you got the money to keep buying a new one. cost too much and didn't last very long.

Pros:
Our 9 year-old love this bat. He is hitting the ball harder and further than ever this year. We were looking for a CF4 (youth) and the negative comments made us go with the TPX EXOGRID2.
Cons:
A bit pricey for a youth bat.

Pros:
i'm a contact hitter and this bat gave me the edge that I needed to hit the ball hard...I hit my first grand slam with this bat.
Cons:
half and half style makes it hard to hit the really close inside pitches...its a great bat though

Pros:
My son has been using this bat his last 4 games now. He has never been a power hitter before. But now he is crushing the ball with this bat. It is unbelievable. I am so Impressed. Thank you DeMarini!!!!! Wow...............
Cons:
None at all. This bat is hott, hott, hott...........

Pros:
Just holding this bat, you can tell it's made with high quality material. It's a far cry from the $50 bats in sporting good chains. While expensive, you definitely get your money's worth. My 10 year old son has been using (30in/17oz) for a few weeks with great success. No question, the ball jumps off the bat. He's a contact hitter, but has been sending the ball to the outfield with every solid hit.
Cons:
none so far

My 13 year old son had a Easton Speed bat when he was 10, what bat would be comparable today? I am looking for my 7 yr old who weighs 60 lbs (not sure of height). He is strong, athletic, and has a strong swing. He will be hitting off a pitching machine.

The Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 2: YB12EX2 Youth bat would not be very comparable to the old Easton Speed. A comparable bat is the 2013 Easton S1: YB13S1 Youth bat. This bat would be good for your younger son also.

Is this bat approved for Little League? I did not see it on the approved list - http://www.littleleague.org/Assets/forms_pubs/2012LicensedBatList.xlsx, so I wanted to make sure before I purchased it for my 10 year old. Thanks for your help!

The Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID2: YB12EX2 Youth is approved for Little League. It is the third bat listed on page 4 of the assets/forms link.

Does this bat come with a USSSA stamp?

No, it will not have the new USSSA stamp, but USSSA is not requiring youth bats to have the new stamp until 2014.

Can you tell me what DXVDL and WTDXVDR mean for the Voodoo?

The DXVDL in the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth description is just a model number for the bat.

My son just turned 11 and he weighs 100 lbs and is 5 Feet tall. He has the power to hit the ball over the fence, but at the same time he is a good line drive hitter. He has been using the 2010 Louisville TPX Omaha 30" 20 oz. for the last two years and I would like to buy him a new bat. Would you recommend the DeMarini Voodoo or the DeMarnini CF5? I was thinking about the 30" 22 oz.? He likes the CF5 LE color scheme.

The DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded, which can be a bit different. It is for a power hitter. The DeMarini CF5 is very balanced and is more for a line drive hitter. It really comes down to if your son has the bat speed or experience to swing a end loaded bat. Both are amazing choices.

I'm trying to decide between the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2013 Easton XL1 2013. Both bats are within price range and both have very slick design.

Since both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo Youth and the Easton XL1 Youth are end loaded and both great bats. They will preform very similar. It would really be decided by personal preference.

About Louisville Slugger
Louisville Slugger

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime. Here's a short video promo from Louisville Slugger. After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were bo.... read more

About DeMarini
DeMarini

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater." In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini.... read more

Description for Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 2: YB12EX2 Youth
Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has been on the cutting edge of bat technology. This year the TPX line brings a new dimension in performance technology to the table. The EXOGRID 2 is one of the most innovative bats to ever hit the market. This bat starts out with Louisville Slugger's SC21 Scandium Alloy which is one of the most durable and responsive alloys on the market. Moving toward the handle you'll find that the metal is trimmed into a grid-like pattern and replaced with carbon composite inserts. These inserts are several times stronger than the metal they replace which gives the EXOGRID 2 not only it's name, but it's unwavering durability. Inside the bat, the heart of the EXOGRID 2 can be found in the form of an internal carbon composite sleeve. This provides greater handle stiffness than alloy alone ever could. All of these parts are brought together using Louisville Slugger's EXOGRID Bi/Fusion Process, where a combination of heat and extreme pressure bond everything into a single, solid unit. The EXOGRID 2 has a 2 1/4 inch barrel and 7/8 inch standard handle with a synthetic grip. It is topped off by Louisville Slugger's patented Pro Cup Endcap. Louisville Slugger: Intimidate at the Plate! The EXOGRID 2 is approved for play in Little League, Pony, Dixie, AABC, Babe Ruth, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Description for 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth
New for 2013! The DeMarini Voodoo has become the bat of choice for thousands of players all over the country. This year's Voodoo is perhaps the best yet. With a hybrid design featuring an X10 Alloy barrel joined with a TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle, DeMarini has created a baseball bat that is beyond good. DeMarini's brand new alloy, X10, is designed with a proprietary blend of alloy agents that when put together create a barrel with optimal strength. This unique strength allows for finely tuned barrel walls to create the ultimate sweet spot, no matter what regulations may exist. The TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle further enhances the Voodoo's strength, while creating a lighter swing weight than ever before. DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The Voodoo's exclusive Ion V End Cap has two layers. One to keep the barrel stiff, while the other transfers energy from barrel to ball with pure over-the-fence power. Constructed with an ever-so-slight endload, the Voodoo feels like you've harnessed the power of a thousand black suns to sacrifice the soul of the fastball. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Voodoo is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

I rarely shop online at places I have little knowledge of. I was very, very pleased with this purchase experience, and my 12 year old is in love with his new bat!
