First impression, WOW! Chad Player

Pros: I just received this bat and couldn't wait to take a few cuts but no game, so BP it is! I take BP often with a Tee using a Miken Patriot Balanced 27oz and an 2014 Easton L1.0, both great bats! This bat, with the plastic still on it and 10 cuts, was 10-20 feet farther than either of those bats. Early assessment is great and anxious to see if it opens up with more cuts. Can't wait to get some game time cuts on it and will follow up another review!

Cons: Too early for any cons!

Did I get a lemon? William Johnson Player

Pros: None yet

Cons: Tried it a half dozen times and have only hit weak ground balls not getting out of the infield. Switched to last years model and hit one off the fence the first swing. Can I trade it in for last years model?

Best $300 I ever spent. Chris Player

Pros: Instant pop out of the wrapper. Grip feels great. Best bat I have ever bought. 2 games, 2 300 ft plus shots over 8 foot fence in center field. Weighting feels perfect, barrel has the largest sweet spot on any bat I've owned. Shaft flex. You get some great technology for the price. Not all bats are created equal, this one's the best.

Cons: Color and paint scratches easy.

The available lengths are all 34” but varying weights. Why? Are all the weights end loaded? Jeff Bullock
Slow pitch softball bats are almost exclusively made in a 34" length. This bat is end-loaded because a lot of slow pitch softball players like an end-loaded bat, so Miken and other manufacturers make bats to suit those players. If you want a balanced model, look for the term "Balanced" in the title of most softball bats that have this feel.

Love the dc 41! I'm 65 years old. I play gcssa. I am 6'1" & 230 lbs. In good shape. Only been playing 5 years. I'm thinking 30 oz.? Dave cross
I think there is a good shot that you should be able to handle the 30 oz size of this 2019 Miken DC-41 14" SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MDC18U) since you are taller and stronger. However, if the 30 oz weight had you concerned at all, I might consider stepping down to the 28 oz size of the bat. [NP]

Is the 26 oz SuperMax actually a 27 oz. bat? Is it a one oz. end load and that makes it a 27 oz bat? Ken
A 26 ounce Miken DC-41 14" SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC18U weighs 26 ounces, but more of that overall weight is shifted into the barrel to give it that SuperMax end loaded feel.
Logan
What is the recommended break in for this bat? I've seen some that were 1/4 turn every hit and only half swing the first 150 swings. Dale
The Miken DC-41 14" SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC18U would be best served with a break-in like the one you have recommended.
Cameron
I’m 6’, 190 and have decent power. I don’t hit bombs all the time but usually to the fence though. I have been borrowing bats in the 27oz-28oz range. Which one would suit me better to be more consistent? I was swinging the KP23 freak. Jacob Drain
The Miken DC-41 SuperMax has a 1 oz end load so it is recommended for power hitters only who think they can handle the very top heavy feel of that amount of end load. For a doubles/average power hitter, you might want to look at a Miken Maxload model such as the 2019 Miken Freak Primo 14" Maxload USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPRIMU which has a .5 oz end load.
Kyle
What's the difference between the 2019 Miken DC-41 USSSA and the ASA version? diego
The Miken DC-41 14" SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC18U is designed to offer top performance for USSSA softballs, which are a little harder than ASA softballs. The Miken DC-41 14" SuperMax ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC18A is designed to offer peak performance with the softer ASA balls.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
