Great bat Joe parent

Pros: Nice feel. Sounds similar to wood just a little duller. Like the new standard. Should be much safer and more realistic to wood. Nice balance. Vibration not an issue.

Cons: Changed the grip to Lizard Skin. Aprox. 10 yard shorter difference from last years Beast.

My son's bat. Dad parent

Pros: He say's it has a great feel to it when he swing's it. Almost no sting on good and bad hit's. It's well balanced (he has 1 new S750 it's a little bit more end weighted tho). More hit's. Bigger sweet spot. Perfect fit for my son.

Cons: Break in, not sure what that will be at. Should have a better handle wrap and a bat cover for the price you pay. A bit expensive for a kid's bat. (Still the best bat I could get him tho) Don't forget to order the bat cover to protect your investment. Gave this bat 2 star for durability cause we just got it but Easton makes good bats so I imagine it could be a 5 star if it last 2 seasons (From what I've read composite bats don't last more than 2yrs. on avg. besides he's going to out grow it in less than that time anyway)

Thanks Snowflakes Weston's Dad parent

Pros: My son hit it pretty well. He did complain about sting so, I left the factory wrap on and put a lizzard wrap over it and added a power pad...not a single sting after that, through several buckets of balls.

Cons: If youre looking for anything like the performance from bats of years past, temper your expectations because you will be dissappointed, regardless of what bat you choose.

new review after long break in period daddycoach parent

Pros: lots of contact, great feel, pop will inrease, vibration diminishes after long break in period. good line drive bat. the funny sound still there. sounds like hitting baseball with a guitar. but much better results now that its breaking in. Read below how to break in.

Cons: Price. Very long break in period. Not great in cool weather. I wrote a very critical review of this bat after after several sessions of what I thought was a good break in perod. I compared it to LS Solo 618. I was very dissapointed with the ghost x hyperlite. No pop and lots of stings. To be fair to easton and its product after several sessions with my ten year old I thought bat was broken in. I was wrong. I took it myself and hit over 100 baseballs off tee into net hard with 1/4 turn every time. it loosened bat up substantially. Son likes bat much more now. gets good contact with big barrel. Less stings but weather has been warmer. still has slightly less distance than LS Solo -11. But LS is a little heavier, and ghost x seems to be getting better. Slightly less misses and foul tips with ghost x bcz large barrel. changed my review and keeping bat in use for now.

Daddycoach

Pros: Good feel, big barrel, lots of contact, lite. Good line drive bat. Be patient with break in period- read below how to quicken that process.

Cons: Very long break in period. After several sessions with my ten year old I thought bat was broken in. I was wrong. I than compared to LS Solo 618 and was very disappointed with ghost x. To be fair to Easton I wanted to make sure bat was broken in. I took it myself and hit over 100 baseballs hard off tee into net. It loosened bat substantially. He likes much more now wants to continue using it and has similar results to LS solo. Maybe slightly more distance at this time still with LS, but less misses and foul tips with larger barrel. Still a tough go in cooler weather, and $100 more than other -11 USA bats with similar results. Also, still sounds like hitting baseball with a guitar, but solid hits.

So far so good... Nate coach

Pros: He likes the bat a lot, he's getting use to the 29/18 I went a little bigger in weight so he can use it a few years(he just turned 9). We've had 4-5 hitting sessions with it indoors and he's had little to no sting at all. Obviously not the same pop as his Combat but I think the difference is minimal.

Cons: I think the true test of this bat will come much later.

COMFORTABLE SWING is the key Yogi parent

Pros: Gone are the days of buying a hot bat and making your kid look like an all-star. On par with all other USA bats in terms of distance. My son is on the smaller side so I needed a bat he is comfortable swinging and this is it. Yeah it had some stingers on mishits but so did the other USA bats I've bought. I put a knobcuff on and it seems to have fixed the vibration issue when hitting off the end or handle.

Cons: $$$ for a made in china bat with a terrible grip, but if you need the lightest bat on the market without giving up barrel size this is your bat.

Terrible Keli parent

Pros: looks nice. light weight

Cons: kills my sons hands, every hit. It's got him to where he don't even want to swing hard because it just kills his hands. We've switched to lizard skin, bought better batting gloves and purchased the rubber that you put at end of bat to help absorb some of the shock. This bat was way to much money for him not to use it. I'm calling Easton to try find a resolution. He has been using his friends $89 Rawlings bat and it has great pop and there is little to no vibration. VERY disappointed in this bat. Three other kids on his team have all experienced the same thing.

Would NOT recommend!!! Coach coach

Pros: light weight and durable

Cons: There is absolutely NO pop off this bat!!! We have three different baseball teams between city league and travel ball and this is by far the worst investment of all equipment we have ever purchased. There are numerous USA bats throughout all our teams and would hands down recommend the Beast (2pc) or even the simple, aluminum, Rawlings Prodigy. Do NOT waste your money!!!

overall excellent bat 4.5/5 retroclemson parent

Pros: My son is only 7, so we needed the lightest bat we could find. This is the lightest weight USA composite this year, believe me we tried them all. All alloy USA bats are at least 2 oz over swing weight, some 2.5. (USA 5150 27/16 weighs 18.6, DEMARINI VOODOO 28/18=20.4). Most all of the USA composite bats are 1.5-2 oz over listed weight. However this bat is only 1.2 oz over listed weight. 28/17 weighed exactly 18.2 oz) compared to pre USA composite bats which had longer breakin period, this bat is more ready to go. I do recommend changing to a lizard skin on all 1 piece bats for kids 8u.

Cons: Balanced bat with minimal end weight results in heavier rattle when hit off end of the bat.

Save your $ Travel Coach coach

Pros: Initially, the name

Cons: Hand Sting, No pop - Coach both LL and travel baseball and purchased 2 of these bats for both kids. Not happy with the decision. Kids constantly shake hands from 'Bat Sting' and not much pop. I understand the USA bat standards, however this bat is inferior to others. They now sit in my son's bags while they use other bats. The worst part is when I attempted to contact Easton they were not much help and very unresponsive.

Pros: The only good thing i can say about this bat. Is that looks good and thats about it.

Cons: Zero pop even for a USA bat. Zero feedback when hitting! Vibration and sting worse than swinging a wood bat. you littlery could go to Walmart and buy the cheapest USA bat you could find and it would out perform this bat. Easton you screwed the pooch on this one and in return are duping people into making people pay almost $300 for a garbage product.

Very Disappointed John parent

Pros: My son liked this bat a lot when he swung it in the store and it was more affordable then the other Ghost 2 piece bat.

Cons: The sting is so bad. batting gloves do not help. No pop what so ever. The ball goes no where. When my son used another bat the ball goes 10x further. I have seen much cheaper bats out perform this bat 10 times over. Been breaking it in since winter clinics and it still stinks middle of the season. I want my money back.

Pros: Balanced swing, weight, huge sweet spot. Once broken in the hand sting is gone. You really need to get through the break in to appreciate this bat.

Cons: Break in time - took 150 good hits off a tee, rotating the bat 1/4 turn each time to break it in. Hand sting is gone and sweet spot is huge. Good pop for a USA Standard bat but nowhere close to last years models.

Dad of P DWR coach

Pros: It looks nice.

Cons: I have two boys. I have purchased at least 10 Easton bats over the past 7 years - all of them the top of the line. This bat without question has the least pop and the most vibration of any we have ever purchased. My 12 year old has the 31/21 and unless you hit it absolutely perfect the ball just dies. Pros: Well balanced and probably durable

Cons: When compared to other USSSA baseball bats this bat under performs. During ball contact the bat sounds like you hit it against an aluminum pole. There is no bounce, again this is understanding that most of the new standard bats also the same way and comparing apples to apples. Pros: I can't think of one. It's a drop 11? The general feel was ok?

Cons: I know what the mentality behind the new USA bats is. But this bat... OMG. Bought it for my son for Christmas. He goes to use it at the start of rec ball in February and it sounds like the ball is bouncing off a log. Couldn't hit a ball out of the infield (my son is 10 and a 3 years running all-star). Kept using it hoping that maybe it hadn't been broken in just in use at our house. Eww, no better. Ended up getting an Easton S550 for like $80 and it was 20x better (one went over the fence with that bad boy). Sold this one to the local sports resale store.

Pros: I had won this bat online and got it for free on a giveaway from Easton. I was very excited to use it. It takes a little bit to break in and pretty light. Had decent pop since it's a USA bat.

Cons: It has a lot of vibration. A few of my teammates have used my bat or have their own, and whenever we use our bat our has hurt from the stinging. Like when you first get the bat, that's when it stings the most. I wore batting gloves on both hands and had a somewhat thick wrap, but I would still feel the vibration. Also end cap can be broken when ball hit's it, but I'm pretty sure every Easton bats like that.

Perfect Big Tuna Coach

Pros: Skeptical that it could deliver any noticeable returns for the price tag even considering the insane discounts in this site. First thing you’ll notice is your kid stop making faces when hands sting or vibrate. Also notice bat speed and control, bat is well balanced and light. You’ll also notice ball jump off bat and at least in my kid confidence really improved. I’m old school in saying the bat doesn’t matter and this bat changed my ways...I got to try out a bat I could never afford due to this awesome site. BIG Up to justbats.com!

Do Not Waste Your $’s Toby Thunberg Parent

Pros: For parents on a budget, pricing is low for an Easton product

Stay away Pete kelly Coach

Pros: Bat looks nice and feels nice in balance and grip

Cons: Worst vibration even after significant break in period. We will not buy Easton again. Try Louisville Slugger Prime or DeMarini zen if you can spend a little more. Those bats have serious pop for USA bats and no vibration. I’d like my money back on this Easton purchase.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will this bat need broken in? How do you suggest doing so? Andy D
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one-piece composite bat and will benefit from a small break in before using. Hitting balls off a tee or soft toss would be the best way while rotating the bat to even the break-in across the entirety of the barrel. Amount of swings can vary but 100-150 would be a rough estimate.
Cameron
I am looking for a good bat for my son. He plays 10U baseball in CT, and the fall season will be getting cold. Will the Ghost hold up or would you recommend another bat? Nicky G
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) will hold up as well as any other composite bat. However, typically aluminum bats perform better in cold weather (weather 55 degrees and below).
Mick
Is this bat legal for USSSA tournaments? Mike
Yes, the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) is approved for play in both USSSA and USA divisions.
John
Will this bat come in a 29?" Ben
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL will be available in 29" and will be live on the site once we have that size in stock.
Logan
My son is 6 years old, 46" tall and plays coach pitch. Is the 27"/16 oz size good for him or are they going to come out with smaller bats that don't say tee ball? H
To get a USA Baseball bat that is not a teeball model, you will have to go with the 27" length (everything that has a 26" length and USA Baseball stamp will be a teeball bat). Because of that, I would recommend looking for a bat in the 27"/16 oz size for a smaller 6 year old that is playing coach pitch.
Ben
My 8 year old is 4' 7" about 75 pounds. I was wondering what size bat would be ideal for him. He has been swinging a 27in 16oz. JGuillory
I would suggest a 29 inch bat for your player.
Dan
Isn't one of the benefits of a composite bat to generate more pop and cause a "trampoline effect" once broken in? With the new USA Baseball specifications, has this effect been engineered out of composite bats making them more like alloy and/or wood bats? Dave
Yes, composite bats once broken in will create some what of a trampoline effect. The USA Baseball stamp will make it perform closer to how a BBCOR bat would perform. Typically this is compared to the performance of wood bats.
Dan
My son has been using a 30" drop 12 bat with a 1" choke up spacer for the last two seasons, he is 5' tall and 98 lbs. Do you think the new bats at a 30" & 20 oz weight will be too heavy for him? He just turned 10 yrs. old. AJ
Someone of his height and weight typically use a 30" bat. The added weight may cause him to have a slower swing in the beginning. But a 10 year old usually swings a drop 10. Its natural to have a slower swing when adjusting to a new weight. Your player should be fine after a couple visits to the cage as he will get more comfortable with the weight.
Mick
Are these bats legal for USSSA and GrandSlam Events? Ball Dad
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is legal for USSSA and GrandSlam events.
Cameron
My son is approaching his last year of Little League - league age 12. He is 105 lbs and 5'3". What size bat would you recommend him swinging next spring? Josh
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My son 10 and is aging up to Pony Bronco instead of getting another year of Mustang. He is 55 inches tall and weighs 68 pounds. I think he needs bat speed next year to match the bigger kids. What do you recommend? Mel
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 29" Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL.
Logan
My son just turned 9 years old. He is 4'5" and weighs about 70 lbs. With the new standards, we need to buy him a new bat. What bat would you recommend for him? Jrod
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) in the 29"/18 oz size. As long as you think your player will enjoy the one-piece, all-composite build and can handle the 18 oz weight; I believe that this bat would suit him extremely well in the size suggested.
Ben
My son had success with a 28 in 15 oz 2 1/4 S500 speed brigade last season. I hesitate to go with heavy bats as he is right handed but bats from left side. He is about 4'5 and 65 lbs. Would you recommend the Ghost X hyperlite in a 28/18 or a 29/19? drock
I would recommend a 29 inch bat for this player. The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a 29/18 and would be a good option.
Dan
My son is 8, 4"7' and is 86 lbs. He uses a 28 inch 16 oz bat now. We are looking at the Ghost X Hyperlite. He plays on a U10 travel ball team. aimee
Yes so this would be a very good bat for your son because it is a very high performing bat. The only thing with this bat is that it doesn't come in the 28 inch 16 ounce size that you were looking for. It comes in a 28 inch 17 ounce which will just be one ounce heavier.
Cade
My son is 46" 43 lbs and we must use the new USA bats. In your opinion which bat, which brand of bat, and weight should we go with? lil e
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 27"/16 ounce size.
Carter
This says it is a "USA" bat but when I go to the littleleague.org website with the list of approved bats, it isn't on the list of approved bats. phreaux
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) contains the USA stamp on it. That is how others know that the bat is legal.
Mick
Is the USA stamp the same as a BPF 1.15? JB
The USA stamp is not the same as the BPF 1.15 USSSA stamp. The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL will perform at lower capabilities when compared to a USSSA 1.15 BPF counterpart as the USA Baseball bats are designed with thicker barrel walls.
Cameron
My son is 7 years old. Swings a 28"/16 oz Combat. We need a USA bat now. The player is 4"3' and 56 lbs (tall and thin). Which would you recommend and what size? top speed
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be the most comparable option to the Combat he is use to. I would suggest the 28" 17 ounce size.
Logan
For an 8 year old, 4'3" and 71 pounds, what length and drop would you recommend? Would this be a good bat for him? baseball mom
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) would be a great bat for your 8 year old. As for the recommended size, I would suggest a 28in. 17oz. bat.
Tyler
Wondering what is the actual weight of the Ghost X (-11) bat in 28" length? Brandon
If you were to get a 28"/17 oz model of this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) and were to place it on a scale, the weight that will register will be approximately 0.5 oz to 1.5 oz over the listed amount.
Ben
Comparing the Louisville Solo 618 to the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite. Which bat has a longer barrel? Which bat would have a lighter swing weight? Tim
Both of these bats are quite similar. They each have a balanced weight which will feel lighter than the other market end-loaded bats. As for barrel size, the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) implements the X-Tended barrel design to create a large sweet spot on the barrel.
Tyler
My grandson is 4 feet 6 inches tall and 110 pounds and just turned 9. I bought him a 5150 at 30/19 but he always uses 2 bats. What size Ghost would be best for a slump breaking bat? K C
Based on your grandson's height and weight, as well as the other bat he currently has, we would recommend getting the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 30 inch 19 ounce model as well.
Cameron
Which Ghost X bat has a longer barrel in the 30 inch size, the Hyperlite drop 11 or the drop 10 model? Joe
The Ghost X -10 has a longer barrel. Its not a major difference roughly 1/4 inch.
Mick
My son is 11, weighs 82 lbs and plays Little League. He needs a USA stamped bat. He is use to swinging a lighter bat and had a -13 DeMarini Raw (30"/17 oz). I am hesitant to go with a heavier bat. Can you a recommend a bat that he can use for the next couple of years that he won't outgrow and that won't be too heavy? Kidd
For most 11 year old players, we are recommending a 30" bat. Since we will not have any 2 5/8", USA Bats that are lighter than -11; I would suggest getting a 30"/19 oz bat for him. I think this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) would be an excellent selection in the 30"/19 oz size. If you wanted something a little longer and heavier to help as he grows, you could look to the 31"/20 oz size.
Ben
My son is 9 yrs old, 5"2, 110 lbs. What is best size for him? babooshka
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My grandson is 12. He is 5' tall about 100 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for him? charlie
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model of the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL.
Jason
My grandson is 5'5" and over 110 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for him? Sharon Ruhe
I would recommend going with a 31'' 21 oz. The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a oz lighter than suggested.
Max
Last year was my son's first year playing kid pitch in Cal Ripken. He had a Rawlings Plasma 29" and struggled greatly with bat sting. The bat also felt a lot heavier than his friend's bats so he sometimes struggled getting it around. We want to invest in a bat that he can get around easily but also are concerned about bat sting. For these reasons we are torn between the Ghost X and the Hyperlite. Thoughts? vdog
Both are good options. I would most likely recommend the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 as it is still extremely light but the two piece design will greatly reduce vibrations.
Carter
Is this bat right for my 11 year old? LL24
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL could be a good choice for an 11 year old player needing to use a USA approved bat. The correct length to weight ratio will ultimately depend on his strength and how well he is handling his current bat.
Cameron
My son is 11 years old and will be 12 in June, 5 ft and 100 lbs. He is not a power hitter yet and is still working on proper mechanics and contact. Would the 31 inch be a good fit for him? LL24
I would recommend the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 30 inch bat for a player 5 foot and 100 pounds.
Dan
My son is 9 years old and 95 lbs. However, he has slow hands. He was using a 29"/18 oz. What size do you recommend? gman hitter
Based on your player's 9 year old age, I would recommend sticking with the 29" length or moving to a 30" length if you want something longer. To get another one-piece, all-composite bat like your Catalyst; I would recommend looking to this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) in the 29"/18 oz size -or- the 30"/19 oz size.
Ben
I have an 11 year old grandson who is 4'4" and 63 lbs. Good, hard swinger, been playing baseball all his young life. Out hits players taller and bigger than him. Looking at the Ghost X Hyperlite. What size should I buy him with the idea that he may hit a growth spurt? Jesse
I would recommend the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 28 inch bat length for a player that is 4'4" and 63 pounds.
Dan
My son is 11 year old. He is currently using a easton Typhoon 30 in 19 0z bat. If reading the Q&A correct the new bat standards are heavier. Do you recommend going down on oz? Rebeca
I would recommend going with a 31'' 20 in the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL, the light weight feel of the Hyperlite will be a good fit for your 11 year old.
Max
My son is 10 years old and is 5'4" 70 lbs. Last year he used the MAKO 29'-10, which size Ghost X Hyperlite do you recommend? Rf
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" bat. However, if you feel like that is a big jump, moving to a 30" would be perfectly acceptable as well. This is a suggestion based on his height and weight but the player should swing what he is most comfortable with.
Mick
Is a 27/16 going to weigh 16 oz or will it weigh more? wade
Typically, baseball bats get weighed prior to the manufacturing process. I tend to see bats weighing one to two ounces heavier once that process is complete and the bat is ready for sale. The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in a 27 inches and 16 ounces will most likely weigh closer to 17 ounces.
Dan
Should the Hyperlite be used in cold whether? If not, what is the temperature that you should avoid using this bat? AJ
It's really not ideal to use any bat in temperatures below 60 degrees, so I would just recommend limiting the use of the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL in those temperatures as much as possible.
Logan
My son is 8 years old, and weighs around 65 lbs. What size bat is recommended? KKE
Based on your son's age, I would generally recommend getting this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) in the 28"/17 oz. size. If your player is 4'5" or taller though, I think you would be safe to move up to the 29"/18 oz. size.
Taylor
Would you recommend a 26" or 27" for a 6 year old who weighs 50 lbs and plays coach pitch? Beth
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 26"/17oz. Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL
Tyler
Some reviews are saying no sting and some are saying it has a lot of sting when hitting with this bat. Could you give some more clarification as to why this maybe an issue? Have there been any other issues with this bat? Danny
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL features new type of composite that is designed to help with vibration reduction. However, new USA certified bats have thicker barrel walls which is resulting in players needing to square up the baseball even more to reduce the sting.
Dan
Why do you have to warm up with the Easton Ghost X before you use it in a game? Mad Max
Composite bats require a break-in period before game use in order to loosen up the carbon fiber materials that make up the bat. Taking a bat straight to the game has a very high risk of causing durability issues since the carbon fibers have not been loosened up at all, making the chance of cracking/breaking much higher.
Kyle J.
My son is an average hitter. Always had a 2-1/4 barrel but always ended up using a bigger barrel on the team. With the new bat requirements we are looking into getting him a 2-5/8 barrel however not sure what option would be the best. He is roughly 4'2" and probably 55-60 lbs. Zs mom
Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend a 28"/17 ounce Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL for his first big barrel bat.
Carter
Was looking at this bat that my friend bought his kids, and he had the same bat that was YAA18GXHL. Is there a difference? Also, are you going to be getting in more of the 30/19? Eric
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one-piece bat. The other Ghost X that you are referring to is a two-piece bat. The one-piece bat will have a stiffer feel.
Tori
My son is 11 (league age 12) and entering his last year of Little League. I just bought the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11, but now I'm hearing that there's quite a bit of vibration. He's had the Easton 2 piece bats in the past and liked them well enough, but I didn't find any at Dick's Sporting Goods. Should I be looking to spend more and get a two piece? Devin
If you're concerned with vibration, the only way to alleviate that would be with a two piece bat, such as the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 or the slightly end loaded Easton Beast X Hybrid -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BXH10.
Logan
What is the barrel size of the hyperlite? Am I correct in assuming it is a 2 5/8"? Thomas
The barrel size of this Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is 2 5/8" and will be approved for USA sanctioned baseball.
Tyler
Does this bat come in 2 1/4" barrel? Kelly
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is only offered with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Logan
Would changing the grip to lizard skin help that much with the sting/vibration? Diamondback
If you replaced the grip on the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL with any type of thicker grip it could definitely help with vibrations.
Carter
My son is 8 and he's about 3"9" and weighs about 60 pounds. Would this bat be good for him or what would you recommend? Andrew
Yes, the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a great option for your son. We would recommend a 27"/16 ounce for him.
Carter
What is the difference in this bat compared to the Easton Ghost-10 model ybb18gx10? mike
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL features a one piece composite design while the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is a two piece design. The Hyperlite is also one ounce lighter than the two piece Ghost X.
Carter
What impact does the cold weather have on sting from these bats? My son is swinging a 28" version and we went out in about 50 degrees and he has refused to swing the bat since because of how much it hurt. He seems to suffer most when hitting at the end of the barrel. It seems that this bat is not designed well for the price since my son has always hit well without sting in the past. Any thoughts? Should we wait out the cool weather? Shakes
We've heard that the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL does vibrate quite a bit due to the one piece construction. The cold weather and hitting off the end are also things that would amplify those vibrations. We've actually heard that after quite a bit of use, the composite fibers loosen up and the vibrations dampens over time.
Logan
I have twins that just turned 8. They each weigh about 52LBS. I had bought an Easton S450 27" with 2 1/4" barrel. However, there is absolutely no pop with that bat and it has a lot of vibration. I have noticed that the 2 5/8" barrel bats seem to have more pop. Would you recommend this bat in 27" length for my twins? MM
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one piece composite bat. Composite bats do require a break in process before you see its true performance. This process can take about 150-200 swings off a tee rotating the bat every 10 swings. Alloy bats on the other hand, do come out of the box game ready which helps explain the difference you are seeing. A 27" bat would be a good choice for 7-8 year old players.
Daveron
Can this bat be used in drills with total control balls? C's mom
We would not recommend using your bat with any sort of weighted ball, as the bat was not designed with weighted balls in mind.
Kyle J.
Is this Little League approved? Jauquina
Yes, this bat has the USA certification stamp as indicated by the "USA" in the title. You can also find all the certifications our bats have by looking under the "Features" section of each bat on our site.
Kyle J.
Looking for a 27'' 16 oz that has the USA stamp on them? Bill
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a great option for a 27'' 16 oz for a bat with a USA stamp model. The balanced swing weight of the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL will give the player a light weight swing great for a younger player.
Max
What leagues can this bat be used in? Dale
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) will feature the USA certification and can be used in the following leagues: AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League and Pony.
Taylor
Can this bat be used in IESA JR High Baseball? TC
The Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be legal as long as the bat being used is 30 inches or less. With that said, for someone in JR High a heavier bat would be better.
