Pros: I just bought this bat last week and my daughter used it Saturday for the first time.... Straight out of the plastic first pitch, first swing, and it was a over the fence home run. Her first ever home run. Needless to say we love this bat!
Cons: None so far!
Pros: recieved the bat on friday, hit 2 singles 3 doubles and 2 homeruns on saturday. big improvement from the 2016 lxt
Cons: none yet
Pros: Early results are good. This new model feels more solid and balanced through swing and contact. Really liked previous versions, but like the 2017 even more.
Cons: grip is a tad slick
Pros: It does swing light
Cons: Demarini has more pop, zero imagination with the graphics, it's like they just gave up on the quality of graphics , Consider the Demarini they look better and have more pop.
Pros: The bat appearance, weight / general feel and pop are all very good
Cons: Quality concerns - I am returning after only 3 weekends of use. The plastic tape securing the grip began to unravel during the FIRST weekend of use. We put some athletic tape around to keep that in check only to have the actual grip begin to separate at the overlaps, discolor and begin to fray during the 2nd weekend of use - only to get very bad by 3rd weekend of use. The Grip is VERY POOR and not at all what I would expect for $350. Put another way, our 2015 LXT grip after 2 years of use is in better shape than the grip on our 3-week old bat.
Pros: Loved this bat straight out of the plastic. Waiting to play my first game with it but batting practice has been awesome!
Cons: The grip could be better but an easy fix.
Pros: good balance, graphics
Cons: not even close to the pop the 2015 had
Pros: good bat has given my daughter 10 extra feet on each swing. Good pop out of the wrapper has gotten better after a few games and t swings as the wrapper says 25 swings and rotate the bat and loosen the composite fibers. Prior to this she had a 2014 xeno. The difference in these bats is that the is no vibration in the LXT.
Cons: none so far
Pros: waited a few weeks before giving review ... long user of Easton Mako bats and finally decided to give Louisville LXT a try. Love its pop right out of wrapping. great balance. definitely seeing greater distance on hits! Keeping fingers crossed for giving durability a 5 for now.
Cons: definitely agree with others regarding bat's grip - could have been made better for $350! otherwise happy with purchase.
Pros: Has a lot more pop than her 2016 Xeno. She says it feels more solid on ball contact. Swings light, we went up 1 oz. size and she said she could hardly notice any weight difference.
Cons: Had to put a new Lizzard Skin grip on it after 2 weeks. (Cheap factory bat grip). Took about 200-300 soft toss pitches to Really break it in, ** My major gripe is the big MADE IN CHINA stamp on it ** If I would have known where it was made; I would have never bought it . I thought I was buying an American Made product.
Pros: Good pop out of box, daughter loves it
Cons: None
Pros: great pop
Cons: none yet
Pros: Every game we play all we see are LXT and Xeno bats...for three years our team has been buying these bats and everyone is now pursuing college scholarships...Most of my team prefers the LXT, but the Xeno is solid as well
Cons: Our Pitchers don't like seeing them come up on all the opposing hitters every AB because the ball rockets around the field if they don't hit their spots
Pros: After breaking it in had really good pop. was a great bat while i had it.
Cons: It took about two months to break it in, a couple weeks ago the handle started moving and then just two days ago the indide of the barrel broke and you can hear bits and peices of the inside of the bat moving. It was my second bat this year after breaking the 2016 lxt in just weaks, wouldn't recommoned it.
Pros: Great Bat. She has the DeMarini CF9 and that's a great bat as well, but the Hyper took her hitting to a new level... my wife is a big DeMarini fan but she had to bow down to the old slugger as my daughter was swinging 2014 Xeno.. anyway. great pop, further distance, well balanced..
Cons: I changed the grips to lizzard skin for a better feel because the handle is pretty slick.. actually I've put it on her DeMarini as well and her Xeno for better grip and more cushion..
Pros: Bought this bat for my daughter, which plays varsity, she will be taking this bat with her to college, she does not know why we didnt get her this brand of bat from the start...this bat comes out of the plastic hot, grip is good and she says who cares about the graphics lol. I will definently recommend this bat to anyone who wants to have a bat that has a ton of pop, how hard the ball is hit is up to the individual swinging the bat, this bat does make a big difference!!!
Cons: N/A
Pros: Bought this bat in April 2016 for my 12 year old daughter and it was great for about 3 months.
Cons: After 3 months grip came apart and the bat started rattling and it lost all of its pop! Don't recommend!
Pros: Well, My daughter say's she loves this bat, that it feels real good. I can tell. She hasn't hit one over yet but it's coming. The bat has made her placement hitting so much better and defiantly harder hit balls. I can tell her confidence has risen due to the feel of the bat. To me, the balance is perfect and the sound of a good hit is clear, it doesn't sound like a doubled up piece of pipe when she drives the ball. Sounds more like a solid car wreck. So far, we are completely satisfied with it. Time will tell on Durability.
Cons: None yet
Pros: great bat and pop my daughter had for 2 days amd hit 2 homeruns and some doubles
Cons: my daughter had beem hitiing great but with in a Month or so the barrel has busted twice
Pros: this bat is so amazing i love using it
Cons: NOTHINFG
Pros: This is a really amazing bat i have been using it for a while now and the results have been great!! The pop and sound is really nice, and this was a great purchase.
Cons: The bat grip could be a little better and sticker, and I wish nit was a little bit cheeper!
Pros: Junior daughter making contact but ball just not jumping off older composite c6. Play time dropping due to average. Picked up a demo LXT to try out - 2nd at bat against good pitcher took a 3-2 pitch deep over center field fence. Swing was always there but the bat pop has been missing. I'll doubt she'll let me return that bat.
Cons: I'll let you know - heard there are durability issues but only 2 AB's on the charts.
Pros: I like the previous reviewer am a coach. We have had a multitude of bats over the years. We have had Demarini, Combat, Easton Mako's and by far the LXT is the best bat on the market today. The old orange and black CF5 DeMarini was the only bat we have had that came close to the pop the LXT has We started three years ago doing away with the other bats and only use LXT bats now. We have never had an issue with a bat in three years of using the LXT brand
Cons: starting last year the grip was slick But that's an easy fix I would not call it a con. People get hung up on the decals and the fluff. Bats are tools, and LXT is a great tool to have.
Pros: My daughter and I attended a LSU camp back in January of 2017 and was amazed at the sounds radiating all around the stadium during batting practice. We quickly realized that it was the sounds of the LXT. We were using a DeMarini at the time which didnt sound like what we were hearing when it was her turn to bat. The pop off the LXT was something incredible and we both knew that we were going to invest in that bat when we got back to the north. Funny thing is that many people don't swing Louisville up here and her first high school practice with it came with "is that a legal bat". But she loves it so far and rocked a double in her first varsity softball game. But as far as durability, I gave it a 5 because of its feel and structure but only time will tell. I never do reviews so please take my experience serious and get this bat. It will definitely give your child more confidence in her swing and power in the flight of the ball.
Cons: none yet.
Pros: bigger sweet spot, great looks and well balanced
Cons: rough finish wears off
Pros: I bought this bat for my 12 year old daughter and in the very first day of using it she hit three triples, a double, and a home run. I would highly recommend this bat for power hitters and anyone who wants to buy a bat.
Cons: The barrel is a little unbalanced, but it's not that hard to get used to.
Pros: Great performance right out of the box.
Cons: Bat cracked after three months of use. I have no idea if Louisville slugger will stand behind their bat.
Pros: bat has good pop when new. after 12 months the bat is showing its wear and losing that lxt sound. the bat does have a ton of hit on it from practice, hitting with the hitting coach and then all the games and tee work at home.
Cons: We went through 3 broken bats when the lxt came out and this last one has lasted for 9 months so far. I think they fixed the issues since the other teammates are also done having issues.

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
