Description

New for The leader in fastpitch is back and better than ever. Not only does it feature a new number but DeMarini has improved the most popular model in its class and continues to lead the pack with its advanced features. There is a reason more top college programs choose DeMarini than any other bat. The DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is the most balanced swinging bat on the market so it's no wonder it is DeMarini's most popular stick! It all starts with the brand-new Paraflex Composite Barrel which offers 22% stronger carbon fibers compared to the Paradox+ Composite on last years model. This makes for less composite material needed allowing for the lightest swinging DeMarini bat ever! Additionally, it allows the composite material to lay more consistently creating a more responsive barrel, a massive sweet spot, and hot out of the wrapper performance. The D-Fusion 2.0 Handle Technology is back with a vengeance and still eliminates vibration on off-center hits while redirecting more energy into the barrel. This allows players to not worry about the possibility of sting and increases their confidence tremendously at the plate. With a two-piece composite design, a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter, and a -10 length to weight ratio, the DXCFP will be approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. The DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS is also covered by a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. DeMarini: Only the best... For the best! Get yours today with Free Shipping!

Pop and dud. Matt parent

Pros: Hot out of the wrapper. Ball flew out of the park. Great look Was a great bat while it lasted.

Cons: Handle was a bit thicker. Lost pop quickly!!! Used the bad for School ball, summer ball and fall ball. I would say toward the end of summer ball, about 35-40 games, the pop was gone and the bat had a rattle.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Can you get this bat in a -5? Ripper
Unfortunately, 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is not made in a -5. The smallest length to weight ratio that fastpitch softball bats come in is a -8.
Cooper
My daughter has an LXT Plus and I noticed the CF8 and CF9 both in -10 seem more balanced meaning the LXT seems to be a touch more end loaded. Will this be the same in 2017 with these two bats? Can't find a good comparison of the two. thaase
Both the CF lineup from DeMarini as well as the LXT models from Louisville Slugger will be balanced bats (DeMarini does make an end-loaded model - the Insane). As for whether the 2017 model of the LXT will be as evenly balanced would be solely the opinion of the individual player or customer as everyone may offer a difference of opinion on the matter.
Cameron
My daughter currently swings a Worth Legit 2014 33/23. She's looking to switch to something with a familiar feel as the Legit. Can you help me reference to the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP? Christi
Both the Worth Legit and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP are two-piece fully composite bats with balanced swing weights. Although both bats will not feel the same due to the different design structures and technology used (composite fiber, end cap, etc) one looking to make a switch will be pleased with the performance of the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. The new ParaFlex Composite will allow this bat to be hot out of the wrapper and the light swing weight feel will allow for greater bat speed.
Cameron
My daughter is a second year 14U player and has loved the CF6. I searched high and low for them and unfortunately I can no longer find them. She is becoming more of a power hitter but has never hit it over the fence. What would you recommend? She currently swings a 32" 21 oz. happy hitter
The drop -10 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) would be an excellent option for your daughter. The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFS) is the drop -11 model and it will feel familiar to the CF6 that she enjoyed so much, but will feature a higher quality more durable Paraflex composite material.
Jake
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? Jason Lann
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP has a balanced swing weight.
Jason
Why do all of the 2017 DeMarini softball bats have -17 on them? Surely that doesn't mean they're a drop 17? Kathy
If you are referring to the "CFP-17" on the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP, that is what DeMarini uses to identify the year the bat was released. The 2016 DeMarini CF8 models will feature "CFA16". It does not mean that the bat has a length to weight ratio of -17.
Angelique
My daughter is 11 years old. What is the difference between the DXCFS and DXCFP? greg
This 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) will differ from the DXCFS bat in regard to its cosmetic look and the length-to-weight ratio (the DXCFP will be a -10 bat and the DXCFS will be a -11 bat).
Ben
What is the difference between this bat and the hope CF9? Taylor
The only difference between the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) and 2017 DeMarini CF9 Hope Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFH) is going to be the color scheme. The Hope model is a limited edition colorway. Portion of the Proceeds from Each of the Hope model Sold is Donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Carter
Does DeMarini make a balanced bat that is a drop 9 or are they all end loaded? sclem10
Yes, the WTDXCFF is a balanced version of the DeMarini CF9, available in a -9.
Kyle J.
What is the difference between this bat and the WTDXCFS? My daughter is 12 years old, 5'1" and weighs 101 lbs. Which DeMarini bat would you recommend for her? Kristy
The difference between the two bats is that the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP has a -10 length to weight ratio, and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS is a -9 length to weight ratio, other than the size, they are very similar bats. Based on your daughter's height and weight I would advise going with the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS.
Sean
The barrel on the CFP seems shorter and even the diameter seems smaller on this bat compared to the CFS. Is this correct? mike
No, the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS are going to have the same barrel diameter.
Sean
Can you all re-wrap this bat for a left handed hitter. Like the wrapping on the slapper bat? And if so how much is that to have done? Lrm
Yes, you can re grip the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP). You just need to take off the grip that comes on the bat and get a new grip, such as a Lizard Skin, and follow their directions on how to put the grip on the bat.
Carter
My daughter is just now 10, 4 ft 8 in tall and 72 lbs. She now swings a 30 in Worth but we used a friend's CF8 and she can hit it out in the grass now. So we are wanting to buy her a new bat. What is the difference between this one and the WTDXCFS? Which would be better for her and to get the most pop from? She is left handed and I looked at the slapper but not such for distance hitting with it. lrm
The only difference between the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS is the weight of the bats. For example, a 30" WTDXCFP would weigh 20 ounces, and a 30" WTDXCFS would weigh 19 ounces. If she can handle the added weight of the WTDXCFP, she would see greater distance with the heavier bat.
Logan
What height and age do you recommend a child to use a 31" bat? lrm
There is no certain age to get the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 31 inch model. The length of the bat will be more the result of the height of the player. For someone needing a 31 inch bat, their height would be around 4'10" to 5'.
Cameron
My daughter is 5'6.5 and currently has a 32/22 - thinking of increasing her to 33/23? Thoughts? Milo
Just based on her height, she could very easily swing a 32" or 33." If you feel as though she could maintain great bat speed with the larger bat, she would see a little more power with the added mass of the 33" 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
Logan
What does it mean by hot out of the wrapper performance? lanie
Hot out of the wrapper means that the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP does not require a break in period.
Tori
What bat length/weight ratio would you suggest for a 15 year old who is 5'2" 105 lbs and an advance club team and high school player? JJ
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 32" bat. The length to weight ratio is tough to suggest as that more depends on the players bat speed and strength. However, most 15 year olds are swinging a -10 like the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
Jason
My daughter is 12 years old 5 foot tall and weighs 80 pounds. She is a contact hitter, is this a good bat for her? What length should she use? Z
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is an excellent option to consider for your player. Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 31" bat.
Jason
My daughter just turned 10 and was using a 30" drop 12. She's 4'9" and weighs 87 lbs. She is a lefty hitter and hits up the middle/opposite field hitter. Would this be a good bat for her? Also, what size would you recommend? ness
Yes, I would recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in the 31"/20 ounce size for her.
Carter
We were at Scheels yesterday and the worker there recommended the DeMarini 33 inch for my 12 year old 5 foot 3, 125 pound daughter. Thoughts? Kelly
Your player could use a 33", we suggest a 32". But if your daughter is able to swing a 33" or adjust to it, that is fine as well. The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) being a drop 10 would be a nice bat to make the transition due to it being balanced
Mick
My daughter is 12, weighs 135 and is 5'. I think her current bat is a bit heavy for her. She is a power hitter. What size would you recommend? JerseyGirl
We would recommend a 32" length of bat for her height and weight. We can't really recommend a weight for the bat as there are too many variables we can't know, such as swing efficiency, strength of the player, etc.
Kyle J.
Daughter is 12 years old, 5' and 165 lbs, would you recommend 32 or 33 in this bat? mkwiecozrek
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
Can my daughter use this bat in the batting cages for practice or with weighted balls? 33 inch 23 oz. j
No bat is supposed to be used to hit dimple balls. The weighted balls damage the bat.
Mick
My daughter is 10 years old and 4' 9". I've been debating between the 30" and 31" CF9 balance/Insane, but I don't want her to out grow out of it too soon. She currently swings an Axe 31/19. What do you recommend? bryan
If your player is already swinging a 31" bat, I wouldn't suggest going down in length. If you feel like she can handle the weight, I would go with the 31" 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP not the Insane model, which is end loaded.
Logan
My granddaughter is a pitcher. She's 12 years old, weighs 130 and is 5'5". What bat would you recommend for her? Nana
Based on your players height and weight, I would suggest the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 33 inch.
Dan
My daughter currently has the Demarini Uprising 31" 19oz bat. She is just not getting the pop off the bat anymore after only a few months so we were looking at the CF9 Insane. Softball travel mom
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP would be a great upgrade for your daughter.
Max
My daughter is 14 years old, 5' 4", 129 lbs and is a power hitter. She has been out of softball for three years, but wants to try out for high school. Currently swinging her younger sister's CF8 (31-20) and nearly hitting the HS fence. What size and drop do you recommend? ed
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) in the 32" length as long as you feel she can handle the subsequent 22 oz weight. If she is strong enough to swing the 32"/22 oz bat, I would recommend getting that size because it will help maximize her power.
Ben
My daughter is 5' 5" and 85 lbs. She has a powerful and fast swing. Wanted to know which bat would be best for her. Deb
I would recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP or the 2017 Louisville Slugger XENO Plus Fastpitch Softball Bat: FPXN170 with a 32" or 33" length.
Dan
I have an 8 year old who is 60 lbs 42 inches tall. What bat do you recommend? K B
Based on the player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 27 inch model. Unfortunately this bat is not made in that length. The 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS in a 28 inch length may be a better fit.
Cameron
My daughter is 12 years old, 5"3' and weighs 102 pounds. What size would you recommend? Erik
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
What does CF9 mean on the bat? Debbie
The CF on the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP stands for carbon fiber(composite) which is the material that the bat is made out of. The 9 is in reference to this being the 9th version/edition of this particular bat that they have made over the years.
Jason
Most other bats list the certifications present on the bat. Why does this bat not have that list? Wader
The bat page for this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) has the stamp certifications listed in the "features". The stamps on this bat are the following: (ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF).
Ben
My daughter is 16 years old. She is 5'1" and 150 lbs. (1) What sized bat should I order? (2) Also, does the bat have all the required stamps that will make it eligible to be used for varsity games? Sue
(1) Based upon your player's height and weight, we would recommend getting a fastpitch bat in the 32" length. As long as she can handle the 22 oz weight, I would recommend this bat in the 32"/22 oz size. (2) Yes, this bat has all the needed certifications for use in a varsity high school game.
Ben
Is the outside temperature important when using the bat or do you have to keep it warm when it's cold outside? beast
Its more about the balls. The balls get denser when the weather is cold. The denser the ball, the more damage it can do to the bat.
Mick
My 11 year old daughter is 5'4" and 151 pounds, play travel softball. What size bat do you recommend? Marvelous
Based on her height and weight, it is suggested that your player swings a 33"/ 21oz bat.
Mick
My daughter is 5"3 140lbs. What bat size do you suggest for her to use? Also, will this bat be allowed for high school players in cali? sam
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend the 32"/22oz. size of the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP. Furthermore, the CF9 is approved for ASA (which includes high school and NCAA) play.
Tyler
What is the difference between the 2017 CF9 and the 2018 CFX? dozer
DeMarini uses a new 3 Fusion handle and endcap technology in the new CFX model, hoping to improve vibration dampening, overall durability and weight distribution. These are the major changes between the two models.
Kyle J.
What length bat should my daughter be using if she is 5 feet tall and weighs 103 lbs? Mooch
Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend purchasing a bat that is 31" in length. Unfortunately, we are sold out of the 31" size in this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP) and we will not be getting that size back in stock. The 2018 version of this bat, the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP), will be available in the 31" length.
Taylor
My daughter is playing on 14U. She is 5'3" tall and 148 lbs. What size bat should she be using? Also which is better the Louisville Slugger Xeno or the DeMarini CF9? She is left handed. Dana
We would recommend a 32" or 33" length for her height and weight. Both of these bats are excellent models and have been top sellers for us in the fastpitch category, so I don't think you could go wrong with either model.
Kyle J.
Age 11, Weight 95, what weight bat does she need? Her length of bat is 30. MB
The weight of the bat will be determined by the player's strength. Generally at that age and bat length you are looking for anything in the range of an 18oz - 20oz bat. (NP)
Tyler
Daughter is 11. About 5'3" 100 lbs. What size bat should she be using. Currently using a 32' considering moving to 33" RJ
A 32" length would probably be the most common size for her height and weight. You could certainly go up to a 33" length if you think that might be better for her, as both sizes could work. It mostly comes down to personal preference.
Kyle J.
My daughter is 5"7" and 125 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? Also other daughter is 12, 5"2" and 85 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? Tina
We would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 33 inch model for your first daughter mentioned (based on her height and weight) and a 31 inch model for the 2nd daughter.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
