Average Ratings Based on 10 Customer Reviews
Pros: Hot out of the wrapper. No break in time like the previous Black Widow model. Great pop, sweet feel and no sting.
Cons: The Black Widow cracked early in the season, but Mizuno customer service stepped up quickly and replaced it with this latest model which much improved. That said I question the durability but only time will tell and Mizuno stands by their products.
Pros: My daughter loves this bat. It's hot right out of the wrapper and has continued to improve. The sweet spot is huge. She can still get the ball through the infield on mishits that have no business getting past the pitcher. It's very balanced and swings incredibly light. I almost wish I would have gotten the heavier one.
Cons: None so far
Pros: We don't have much experience with composite bats, but this one seems to be a good one. It definitely helped my 9-year-old to hit the ball a lot farther than with a metal bat. She really likes the colors of the bat.
Cons: None but only have had a couple weeks.
Pros: We bought this to replace a DeMarini and have to say that it was a good investment. The -13 drop on a 32 inch bat allows my daughter to have that extra reach but not sacrifice bat speed. So far, the bat has incredible pop right out of the box so I am sure that with use it's going to get dialed in even more. We'll keep updating over time because I expect this one to last for 2 or more years.
Cons: Hoping this is as durable as Louisville Slugger Xeno bats are. We've never gone wrong with Mizuno before and this seems to be their latest technological offering.
Pros: Very soft feel when hitting the ball. This bat has excellent pop on par with the CF8/9 and the Xeno. Save the money from those other bats and play the Mizuno.
Cons: None
Pros: Very light weight makes quick hands through the zone, at 8U my thought was the pitcher (or machine, or coach pitch) doesn't supply the power the hitter does, so I went heaviest bat my daughter could swing... she was not cranking them the way I hoped, labored through her swing... so to boost her confidence I went light with the Black Widow -13 which was so the way to go, she was fast through and hitting to the outfield. She was providing the power with her bat speed / not bat weight... The Black Widow didn't last a season and cracked. I looked everywhere for replacement Black Widow to no avail... Mizuno tried to help but was out of those bats themselves, finally they did my warranty through Just Bats and gave me this Silhouette -13 and so far so good. Hope it last the rest of Fall Ball and into Spring Ball '17 and beyond. I have two girls playing fastpitch and my older daughter was swinging a Xeno -10, tried the Black Widow -13 didn't like it went back to Xeno, so try different bats.
Cons: I worry how fast the black widow cracked if this will last... that being said even with the Black Widow cracking I looked to buy a new one from how well it worked for my daughter.
Pros: Great handle and durability. Pop off the bat has been better than expected
Cons: None so far
Pros: We just had our first hitting session with the new Mizuno bat and im very impressed. My daughter is one who cant handle any sting to her hands and she didnt say a word about it today.
Cons: not sure graphics will hold up
Pros: Everything I said positive in my earlier review was true but the dark side of this bat has revealed itself. See the CONS.
Cons: This model of bat is not made properly and it doesn't last more than 4-5 months. We bought one (32"/19oz) in May 2016 and it cracked after 4 months of use and was replaced by Mizuno in Sept of 2016. Now 5 months later in Feb 2017, the "replacement" bat is also cracked. This bat was NEVER used with machine or cage balls or below 55 degrees. The bats were only used in practices, league games and in tournaments. Two cracked (split & delaminated) bats within 9 months is absolutely pathetic for a $200 bat. Save your money and don't buy a Silhouette. I have sent the second cracked PoS back to Mizuno. We'll see if they will stand behind their products. My 11 year old is a power hitter but she's not strong enough to be shattering bats!!!!
Pros: Bat has fantastic Power just like LS Zeno and LXT. Our 10U team has 3 of these drop 13 bats and we have been thrilled with the performance of these bats for over six months.
Cons: None
