Freak Black Softball Dad parent

Pros: Breaks in quick. Plenty of pop. The ball comes off at least as nice as other popular bats like LXT or CF. Extremely balanced bat, which is great for my daughter.

Cons: First one we got cracked within a week. All we hit were regulation balls in a climate controlled facility. Miken quickly replaced it with another with full warranty. Everybody wants hot out of the wrapper these days, and I think that there will be durability issues that come along with it. The replacement has lasted for some time, but we had to put a lizard grip on since the grip started to fall apart after a couple of months. Once it's broken in, which happens fast, quit using it for BP. That's our solution to the durability question.

Miken Freak Black dadofsoftballer parent

Pros: Has excellent response to ball contact, it just jumps off of the barrell. My 14 year old daughter loves the feel of it, no sting on those mis-hits that everyone hs now and then. So far she and her teammates love it!!

Cons: Have not noticed anything. If the grip falling apart as the other review states is the only problem, that is rather easy to fix.

WOW!!! Hot out of the Wrapper Austin coach

Pros: First swing out of the wrapper the ball goes 300+ feet, after that, keep in mind we are in a one homerun league, we hit 10 homeruns in 2 games!

Cons: If their is any, I have not found them

How would you compare the explosiveness of the Freak Black to the Chill? Also, It doesn't do any good if the Freak Bl doesn't come in a 34". big Ern
The 2016 Miken Freak Black Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPFKBK) and the 2015 Miken Chill Fastpitch Softball Bat (CHILL10) are extremely similar in feel and performance, so there is not really one bat that will be more explosive than the other. The 2016 Freak Black is not currently available in a 34" 24 oz. model, but will be available at a future date yet to be determined.

What temperature can you use this bat safely? Carol
We recommend not using the 2016 Miken Freak Black Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPFKBK) in temperatures below 55 degrees. At 55 degrees or below, the softball becomes denser. A denser softball can cause damage to the barrels of the Freak Black.

Both bats are going to have similar performances. The main difference is the technology incorporated within the bat. How does the Miken Freak Black compare to the Louisville Slugger LXT? JR
Both the 2016 Miken Freak Black Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPFKBK) and the 2015 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX150) are going to be fully composite designed bats that feature a bigger sweet spot, while still maintaining a balanced swing weight. The Louisville Slugger LXT however is going to be a TRU3-3-Piece bat with an extended barrel design. Whereas, the Miken Freak Black going to be a two-piece designed bat made using Tetra-Core, which extends the sweet spot and durability of the barrel.
