Description

For 2016, Easton has brought the most expansive line of power and performance to the market with the all-new Power Brigade Series!

TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO TORQ's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. This innovative material comprises both the barrel and handle which are united by Easton's patented 2-PC ConneXion Technology. By isolating the handle from the barrel with the connection joint, energy transfer is maximized while simultaneously eliminating any unwanted vibration. The MAKO TORQ's foundation is then optimized with a lower Swing Weight Index for one of the lightest swing weights on the market. Sounds like exactly what every ballplayer is searching for, right? Well, the team at Easton has taken this design to a whole new level with the inclusion of the TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology. Last season, the TORQ Handle surpassed all expectations and more-than-delivered on its promises:

Own The Inner Half: The TORQ Handle frees up your hands, allowing hitters to barrel-up the inside pitch and avoid the dreaded "jam sandwich".

Stay Inside The Ball: By getting your hands inside the ball, the TORQ promotes the best swing mechanics for more consistent, powerful contact.

Power To All Fields: TORQ Technology helps you keep the barrel on-plane longer through the hitting zone, so you can drive the ball with more backspin (to all parts of the yard).

The TORQ features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, -3 length to weight ratio, new TORQ TAQ Performance Grip, and is BBCOR Certified for High School and Collegiate Play. Amplify Your Power and pick up the Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT today at JustBats.com. The shipping is always free, and we're always here for you - from ClickToHit!

torq it Ry guy parent

Pros: picked this up because it was cheap and its a mako. It has pop right out of the wrapper and im exited to see what my son can do with it after its broken in.

Cons: The sound the bat makes is a ping rather than a crack. We tried the torq thing but i think it creates bad habits that will be hard to fix later, so its de-torqd. My son didnt seem to like the handle even tho i made him try. Cant talk about durability as we have only hit about 250 balls off easy bp. Oh and come on, the word mako is a sticker? Must have run out of paint

Based upon your height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting a 32" option of this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT). As long as you like the rotating handle technology and can handle the 29 oz weight of the 32" option, I would recommend this bat in that size.

Based on your height and weight, I would recommend that you swing a 32" length.

What does the rotating handle do? lallllll
The handle on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT rotates 360 degrees to promote a fully extended swing, with the top palm facing up, and the bottom palm facing down. By allowing the wrists to move freely, the MAKO TORQ technology gets the barrel to the zone faster and keeps it in the zone longer, allowing the hitter to square up more pitches, more often with explosive power.
Marcus
Is this bat end loaded? Jimmy
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT has a balanced swing weight.
Jason

What bat would you recommend. My son is 5-10.5" weighs 185 pounds, a junior in High School. Also what bat drives the ball the farthest in tests? I want maximum exit velocity. Rex
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT is a very high end BBCOR Baseball bat and will high as high of an exit velocity as you can have with BBCOR certification.
Carter
I'm 5'10" and 180 lbs. Looking for a bat with lots of pop. What bat do you suggest? digger55
Based upon your height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting an option of BBCOR baseball bat in the 33" length as long as you feel comfortable swinging the resulting 30 oz weight of the bat. This 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) has received solid reviews so far and if you are comfortable swinging the TORQ handle on the bat, I would recommend this bat very highly.
Ben
My son is a 6' tall slender (135 lb) soon to be 8th grader. He just turned 13 years old. What size bat do you recommend. His current bat is a 32' drop 10. He struggles with heavier bats, but needs to go to a drop 3 next year. Dan L
Ideally he would probably want to be swinging a 32" or a 31" -5 bat. That would be the ideal way to transition into a -3 BBCOR bat. However if he is just not that comfortable with a -5 bat at this time he could try to use a -8, and then in the winter before high school ball starts find a -5 to use to help that transition.
Carter
Are Easton making a 2017 Mako Torq model and if not why? Corey Helmick
Easton is discontinuing the Torq line for 2017. This could be for any number of reasons and I would not be able to specify exactly why Easton decided to go this route.
Carter
I'm 5'10.5" and 155 lbs. What bat size do you suggest? Sportspro24
Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 32"/29oz option.

Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) in the 31" length. As long as you can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" length, I would recommend that size of this bat.

Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 32"/29oz 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT).
Carter

Based upon your height and weight, my general recommendation would be to get a BBCOR bat like this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) in the 32" length as long as you can handle the resulting 29 oz weight.

Linsey
My son is 14 and swings a MAKO TORQ -5 32 inch bat. He has to go to a -3 this season. He is 5'11". Would a 34" bat length be ok? Baseball mom
We would not recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT in a 34 inch length. Based on his height and age a 32 inch bat would be a better option to consider (depending on strength of player a 31" bat may be better).
Cameron
Which is better for a 5'10, 205 pound freshman? The 2015 TORQ or the 2016 model? bhube54
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT and the 2015 models are equally good. One is really not better than the other, and the only difference is the cosmetics.
Jason
My son is 5'4" and 120 pounds. He will be a freshman this year. What size do you recommend? Joe Marquez
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" bat. Unfortunately, we do not have the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT in that size.
Jason
Why is there not a 32"/29 oz version? Silky
Unfortunately, we have sold out of this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) in the 32"/29 oz size. That is the reason why that size is not being offered any longer at JustBats.
Ben
What is the difference between this bat and the Mako Torq XL? Blaise
The XL is an end-loaded version of the Mako Torq, while this is the balanced model.
Kyle J.
Is this bat OK for Babe Ruth Baseball? Sody
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT is legal for play in the 13-15 year old division and 16-18 year old division of Babe Ruth.
Jason

The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT is pretty hot out of the wrapper, but we feel taking about 100 swings will help break the bat in.
Jason
Can one use this bat for fastpitch? double h's
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT is designed for baseball, and features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, so it will not be legal for fastpitch softball.
Logan
I am 11. Should I use this bat? Nico
If your middle school requires a BBCOR bat we would recommend the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT). If they do not we would recommend going with a -10 or maybe a -8 option.
Carter
My son is 6ft 150 lbs. and is looking at switching to a drop 3 bat. What size should I get him? Dueces
We would recommend for your son to swing a 33" bat, but it truly comes down to what length your son feels the most comfortable with. You can also take a look at our bat coach on the justbats.com website to give you some advice as well. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Cade
Is this bat legal for Iowa High School baseball ? Rick
Yes the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT will be BBCOR certified and be legal for high school play.
Max
Can you explain why there seem to be a lot of complaints about the "handle twist" on this model? BulldogPrez
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) is going to have TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology where the bottom of the handle is going to rotate with your hand. it is a personal preference thing if a player would like that or not.
Carter
I am 5'9 160. What bat length would you recommend? Does this bat need break in? RC
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT features a composite barrel and thus would benefit from a break in before using it in games. To accomplish this we recommend hitting off a tee and doing soft toss, rotating the barrel during the course of the break in to make it even across the entire hitting surface. As for size to get, based on your height and weight we would recommend a 33 inch model.
Cameron
Will this bat be legal for 2017 high school in Tennessee? Scott
To our knowledge there are no restrictions on the use of the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT for TN.
Cameron
My son is 5'7' about 120 lbs, what size bat would you recommend in the Mako Torq? Also is this USSSA approved? I know there are new guidelines and he needs the drop -3 so we need to be prepared for Spring ball and winter practices. Perla
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT is not going to be USSSA certified (BBCOR stamped) and I would go with a 31'' or a 32'' drop three.
Max

The barrel on this Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16MKT) will not feature any decals that are removable like a sticker.
Ben
Would you recommend taping the bat handle so the TORQ does not twist? Most players love the bat but not the TORQ feature. SB
The best way to hinder the TORQ twisting handle on the Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT would be to tape over the handle of the bat.
Cameron
