Description

BALANCE + POWER. An Elite Design for the Elite Hitter - the DeMarini CF8.

DeMarini has done it again - an insane amount of tech comes together to create their most powerful, lightest-swinging bat - the CF8. Like all of the CF Series designs, this one is a two-piece fully composite model that utilizes the Half & Half technology that helped put DeMarini on the map. But this bat just keeps getting better! In the barrel, you've got their newest Paradox +Plus Composite material. This premier blend of carbon fibers gives you Hot Out of the Wrapper Performance that only continues to improve each swing. The CF Series bats have always been extremely light-swinging, but this year, DeMarini was able to extend the barrel profile for their longest fully-comp sweet spot ever. Another advancement from last year's design lies in the addition of the D-Fusion 2.0 Handle. This upgrade offers a stiffer flex for max energy transfer to the baseball, but it simultaneously reduces any negative vibration - freeing hitters up to swing for the fences every time they step in the box. Anyone who has said "You can't have it all." obviously hasn't swung the DeMarini CF8.

The DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTDXCFZ features a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, -10 length to weight ratio, USSSA BPF 1.15 Certification, and it is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. You can pick yours up today at JustBats.com - where the shipping is always free, and we're here for you from Click To Hit! DeMarini: Power To The Player!

Best bat yet Notch66 parent

Pros: This bat is the best bat my sonnhas hit yet. anazing balance, and feel. Mu son is on the small side for a 12u player, and has played all the big name bats, Mako, Combat and now the CF8. Right away you could see the increased bat speed through the zone due to the amazing weight balance for a smaller hitter. The ball comes off this bat like a rocket. For him this is the BEST BAT YET!

Cons: none so far

Satisfied Dad Brian Kramer parent

Pros: Lighter than the Mako by 1oz at the same drop Cool Graphics Great sound when contact is made Have had nothing but Mako's in the past and decided to give the CF8 a try this time around for my 9 year old son. Almost instantly after getting this bat and breaking it in my son's power dramatically improved. I am very happy with this bat and his whole team wants to use it now.

Cons: Everyone wants to use it on the team!

Pros: The ball jumps off this bat and the extended sweet spot helps square pitches up... Every hit is hard! The bat is very balanced and has zero sting even on balls hit on the end of the bat! The bat is hot out of the wrapper but I noticed a significant performance Jump at about 250 swings! So far this bat is amazing...

Cons: Piece of crap right out of the wrapper. My son used the bat less than 10 times and the barrel cracked / spider web. I wouldn't have spent the time putting in this review but this is the 3rd bat on our tournament teams that have had the same issue. A waste of $350.00

just a freak bat!! bulldawg coach

Pros: This is a freak bat and will either sell out soon or will be made illegal...I couldn't believe my 10 year old son who hit it over in practice the first time he used it. It flies off the bat...I've seen reports the ball comes off the bat 8mph faster than other bats. not a believer in composite bats but after seeing my son hit bombs I am now..

Cons: can not share with team...this needs to be broken in correctly 200 hits off the tee at 50%. do not use below 70. do not roll This bat has an expiration date so use it carefully. what I mean by that is that every time you use it, it is getting closer to going dead or breaking it will crack easy with a hard swinger... probably pushing it with a 10 year old

First and Last DeMarini!!! AG coach

Pros: I've always been an Easton guy... I hear about this amazing DeMarini Bat that has a ton of pop, so I purchase this $350 bat, 29/19 for my 11 year old. We received it on a Wed and it cracked on Friday. I call DeMarini and have to go through the warranty process... I have to spend another $38 for 2 day shipping and then wait MORE than 10 days to receive a replacement. They have the worst customer service department that are unwilling to help in any way. They are like robots and all say the same exact thing.

Cons: 1st and Last... I will always buy Easton. They send out a shipping label for you to return the bat and have SUPER QUICK turnaround on warranty replacements. I have had close to $400 tied up in this bat that we were able to use for 2 days. QUALITY!!!

Pros: The bat is very hot. Seems to be true to size as far as weight is concerned.

Cons: Bat broke after a month of use. Demarini is a joke. I sent the bat to them two weeks ago and they have not even looked at it yet. I just get the answer that they have seven to ten days to look at it. They do not care that it is baseball season. If you buy an Easton or a Dirty South bat you will never have these problems.

Pros: Hot bat with a lot of pop

Cons: Broke in the first month. Spoke with DeMarini and they are out of this bat for warranty replacement. I'm going to the 2 5/8 barrel because it has been holding up better so they say. I understand they maxed out performance but a month...for $350 and they only replace it once. I'll go back to Easton.

game changer B Phillips coach

Pros: My 8 year old son uses this bat on his travel / tournament team and absolutely loves it. Has significant pop right out of the wrapper and has made a big difference in the power of his hitting and his overall confidence. This weekend we played a team in the championship game that had the same bat and you could tell that it just had more jump than the other bats both teams were using. It is a very balanced bat that feels a bit lighter than the listed weight. With that said, it is good for power hitters as my son used and end loaded bat last season and raves about how much better the CF-8 is. It is pricey but I don't believe there is a better bat out there in terms of pop.

Cons: Durability is the only con with this bat. We had a CF-7 that cracked last year even though we were extremely careful - so we really watch the amount of use we put on this one and use it mostly only in games (my son takes half to three quarters of BP with a Easton bat).

First time buyer, last time buyer Todd parent

Pros: Hot bat out of the wrapper.

Cons: As long as you are wealthy and don't mind spending about $50 per hard hit ball, this is a great bat. Go ahead and buy 3 or 4, you will need them while you are waiting for the replacement. Had this bat for exactly 36 hours and the barrel cracked. Followed break in instructions precisely, and this bat still failed. Nothing like going in to two important tournaments with a $350 paperweight.

Pros: My son plays on a 12U AA travel ball team and loved this bat. With it being a balanced bat, he had better performance than with his Mako. The pop/sweet spot was unbelievable.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is there any difference between this bat and the DXCFX besides the barrel diameter? Is the Swing weight the same? Is this bat end loaded or balanced? Billy k
The differences between the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFZ) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX), besides the barrel size, are going to be the technology used in the handle to reduce vibration and the composite material used in the 2016 model will be lighter to allow for better swing weight feel.
Cameron
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? warrior 17
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ is going to feature a balanced weight distribution.
John P
How many swings is needed during the break-in period? Horsetrader
While a break-in period for the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFZ) is not necessarily required, it can definitely help get the bat more game ready. We would recommend about 100-150 swings of soft toss or tee work while rotating the barrel of the bat a quarter turn between hits to get it nice and broken-in.
Patrick
Does this bat come with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter? gregg
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ is going to feature a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. I have included a link below to the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX which will feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. http://www.justbats.com/product/2016-demarini-cf8-senior-league-baseball-bat--dxcfx/22943/
John P.
My son will play 11U this year. Would you recommend the 2 3/4" barrel or 2 5/8"? DCB
If the 2 3/4" barrel diameters are allowed in your league, I would recommend getting this 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFZ) as the 2 3/4" barrel diameter will allow your player to cover more area of the strike zone than a 2 5/8" barrel option would cover.
Ben
Has there been any noticeable performance difference in the 2 3/4 and the 2 5/8 CF8? Or any difference in the feel of the swing with the barrel difference? My son hit the 2 3/4 barrel this morning and loved it. The 2 3/4 is legal in his travel ball league, but not in his local rec league. DD
The only difference between the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ and the DeMarini CF8 with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, besides the cosmetics, will be the slightly larger hitting surface that this bat has to offer. Other than that, the two models are essentially the same.
John P.
Would the 2016 DeMarini CF8 28" bat be too large for my son who is 8 years old and playing on an 8U USSSA travel ball team? (Would like something he can use in 9U also) baseball mom
To get something for your player that will last him through his 9 year old season, I would recommend looking at a 28" or 29" model of this 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFZ). As long as he can handle and perform with the respective weights of the CF8 models in those lengths (through his 9 year old season), you should be just fine to make a purchase of the bat in either of those sizes.
Ben
How does the CF8 compare to the Louisville Slugger 916? Arsenal
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ and the 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 Senior League Baseball Bat: SLP916X are very similar in the sense that they are both fully composite constructions. This particular CF8 features a new, extra-long barrel profile that offers a massive sweet spot. All in all, these two models are very comparable.
John P.
I have been looking at the reviews and they say that the bat has bad vibration. Is this true? Rey
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ features the upgraded D-Fusion 2.0 Handle Technology which is said to help reduce vibration and redirect more energy into the ball.
John P.
How does the DeMarini CF8 compare to the COMBAT MAXUM MAXSL112? Todd
While both the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ and COMBAT MAXUM are both well balanced composite bats, they are are built slightly different. The MAXUM is a one-piece bat and the CF8 is a two-piece bat. One-piece baseball bats use the same material throughout the entire design. The advantage of the one-piece design is that you get a stronger, stiffer bat that is generally favored by power hitters looking for as little flex as possible. In two-piece baseball bats you'll find that the handle is a separate piece from the barrel and that the two are bonded together. The advantage to a two-piece bat is that its design allows the barrel to flex at the point of contact creating a trampoline effect off the barrel. Two-piece bats generally have less vibration in the handle due to the separation of the handle and barrel.
Marcus
Is this an end-loaded or balanced bat? johnny baseball
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFZ) is going to be balanced.
Jake
My son is 10 years old and uses a 29" 19 oz. CF5 but wants a 2 3/4" barrel now. Would this bat be too big for him? baseball mom
The bat size a player should use is based on their height and weight. The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ is currently available in a 32" 22 oz. Typically 12-14 year old players use a 32" length. Going up 3" in length and 3 oz. in weight will be quite a bit of an adjustment for him. Please refer to our Bat Coach in order to see what size bat is appropriate for your son's height and weight.
Angelique
Is this bat going to be easier to break since it is a two piece? RY Guy
The 2016 DeMarini CF8 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFZ is not necessarily easier to break because of its two-piece construction. Unfortunately a bat can break at any time whether it is a one-piece or a two-piece. One design is not more likely to break than the other.
Angelique
Does DeMarini CF8 come in 29 inches? Mickey

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
