Pros: This bat is the best we have swung all year. We have and the Mako, the CF7 - both bats have become and after thought. The ball screams off the barrel... and you've got to love that "CRACK" when making contact. Snake skin crap is great, love the color... this bat is sexy.
Cons: none.
Pros: Pop off this is crazy! My son had been using the XL1 youth and the ball junps off this even better! Stronger then the Mako and XL1 Big Barrels! Great buy!
Cons: Expensive but worth it!!
Pros: My son is 11 and weighs 119 lbs, he has been swinging the Easton xL1, 31 21. He used this combat last night, and hit two "bombs" and one single for for 5 total RBI's. The really crazy part, he claims this 31/23 Combat feels lighter then the 31/21 XL1!!! Mega pop right out of the wrapper, best bat ever purchased and I have 2 boys that have been playing competitive baseball for 5 years.
Cons: Price is a little chunky, but worth it.
Pros: The pop in this bat is just crazy. Probably is the closest thing to an illegal bat that they'll let you play with in usssa ball. Like most of combats composite model's this has huge sweet spot too. Also feels way lighter than a -8, which can be a great thing. Probably neck and neck with 2014 -8 xl1
Cons: Nothing really, if you're looking for a heavier bat, just get the -5 xl1. I wouldn't recommend for kids who have to use bbcor next year since it has a the swing feel of a little league bat...... very light!
Pros: My son has a CF7 and this Combat Maxum. The CF7 has slightly more pop but only in the sweet spot. The sweet spot on the Maxum is huge! Hit it anywhere on the barrel and the ball flies. The bat is far more balanced vs the CF7 as well.
Cons: none so far
Pros: I chuckled at the warning sticker until my son almost took the coach's head off during BP. This bat is nasty!
Cons: Price...blame the fed!
Pros: Great all around bat, more pop than the Easton XL1 and Mako bats. No other bat the team has came close to the performance of this bat.
Cons: Price.
Pros: Pretty bat.. outstanding weight distribution for a 'speed' bat.. little to no vibration.
Cons: No pop.. none. Nada. They say there is no break in period required - it's hot out of the box. The barrel material sounds like aluminum, the bat says composite. The ball goes nowhere. Sending it back.
Pros: My son used it in a game for the first time and hit two shots to centerfield. Good bat!!
Cons: nothing
Pros: Pop right out of the wrapper - First day out, he hit 3 out of 10 swings HR and then hit 1 in his scrimmage! That was on a chilly February day. Large sweet spot Balanced - swings lighter than the weight 500 day warranty helps me feel better about the price (see con)
Cons: Price No issues noted
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop out of the wrapper. This the first swing may sting, but other wise this bat is golden. it has great weight distribution, and has a HUGE barrel.
Cons: The price is a bit big
Pros: First tourney and two off the fence. He is 108 pounds and swings the 31 inch bat. He swings it very well. The sweet spot is very large as it has the largest barrel surface of any bat in the -8 category. We were either going to go with the Prime 916 or the Maxxum. Glad we paid the extra money for the Maxxum.
Cons: A little vibration if not hit square. Doesn't happen very often due to the size of the barrel. One piece construction bats have a tendency to have a little more vibration than the 2 piece constructed bats. Nothing a little bp can't fix.
Pros: nice pop, great balance, extremely light for a drop 8
Cons: Cracked within 2 weeks. Not what you expect to see from a $400bat
Pros: Swings very light, has great pop right from the start and will get even hotter as its broke in. The barrel is huge and so is the sweet spot, its hard to mishit with this bat. The entire team is using the bat now after the first tournament and they saw this thing is dropping bombs !!! We have Mako's, Demarini CF and Voodoo's and this bat has become the team favorite in a hurry.
Cons: None, its in the same price range as other top composite bats.
Pros: • Hottest bat out there • Great transition towards 2 5/8 from 2 3/4 • Barrel is crazy (almost resembles fastpitch softball) • Combat honors warranty.......once.
Cons: • First bat lasted a couple months before it cracked • Bought a backup while waiting for warranty return • Second bat lasted a couple months and cracked • These don't "spider" or "split" but CRACK • Replacements are engraved "NO WARRANTY"
Pros: The bat is crazy as soon as you use it. The pop on the bat is great. Got it for my son's U-12 traveling team and now his teammates are all using his bat. THEY ALL LOVE IT!!!!!
Cons: NONE AT THIS TIME....
Pros: awesome bat. has great pop and is well balanced. recommend this bat for a 12 or 13 year old that prefers a lighter balanced bat. little vibration if hit closer to handle, but that's expected.
Cons: none at this time. only used the bat at 2 batting practices so far.
Pros: Haven't used it in games yet but my 12 year old loves it and it definitely has a lot of pop. Good choice if you are searching for a good big barrel to get.
Cons: None yet but might be after a game or two!
Pros: purchased in may of 2016. son loved the contact he made. initially thought it would be a great purchase.
Cons: as of 7/2016, it has cracked. not great durability for a single player who has played in 2 tournaments and cooperstown. have submitted warranty form and am waiting to hear from combat about replacement.
Pros: my son is 12 and before he got this bat he had 17 homeruns and now he has over 35 great bat (my son plays on 225 feet fields
Cons: none
Pros: I bought this bat for my son and he plays at williamsport Pennsylvania and the fields are 225 and he has 34 homruns just with this bat i strongly reccomend
Cons: none
Pros: Great Pop and Feel...
Cons: None so far...
Pros: Grip weight distribution hits ball further
Cons: None so far
Pros: has tons of pop. hard to get jammed with bat cause of the massive barrel.
Cons: the grip on the bat started to tear after 20-30 games.
Pros: the bat had amazing pop i was smashing the ball with it
Cons: this is the second comabt i've had... it's the second one i have broke. i've broken them both the same way both times. the knob of the bat is HORRIBLE. its has snapped into pieces on me twice.
