Amazing Bat Albert player

Pros: Tons of pop, WOW. It feels very balanced and comfortable and I tend not to like end-loaded bats. Ready out of the wrapper. GREAT look - the pink really stands out.

Cons: Nothing.

Nice Stick Brandon Grimes player

Pros: The pop.... barely swung and hit one out last game I had. Took a little bit for the bat to break in and find its sweet spot, but once you do it's a wrap!

Cons: The break in time, and the color. If this same bat came in red, I'm buying 2 more. Since it's just pink, i'll stick with the Bubba Watson.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SBL5AJ? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would it be better to purchase a ASA approved bat or USSSA approved playing with .44/375 balls that has no bat restrictions? Ryan S
The bats that are approved for only ASA such as the 2014 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA (SBL5AJ) are tested with the softer .52 core balls. We recommend to use a bat that is USSSA approved to withstand the harder, .44 core balls. The 2014 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload Flex Fifty USSSA (SBL5UJ) is a good option.
Kara
What is the difference between the 2015 Worth Mutant Jeff Hall Signature Series 2-Piece ASA ONLY Slow Pitch Bat, the 2014 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA, and the 2014 Worth Sick HD52 Jeff Hall Reload ASA? They are all priced the same and carry the same weight and end load. Hobo with a Shotgun
The 2014 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA (SBL5AJ) and the 2015 Worth Jeff Hall Mutant Reload 2-Piece (KSMJHA) will be the most similar of the three. They are both two-piece fully composite bats. The main difference between those two is that the KSMJHA has Flex Fifty technology, which allows up to 50% more flex on contact. The last model, the 2015 Worth Sick HD52 Jeff Hall Reload ASA (SBSJHA), is a one-piece fully composite bat and is engineered to maximize performance with a Hot Dot .52 COR ball. All three models are high performance models, however, there are some key technical differences between them.

Does this ASA version of the Jeff Hall Legit Reload feature Worth's Flex Fifty? Hobo with a Shotgun
The 2014 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA: (SBL5AJ) will not feature Worth's Flex Fifty technology. However, it will feature HMF TECH, to help provide greater strength and performance.
Merritt
Does the HMF TECH keep the bat more stiff through the handle than the Flex Fifty Technology? How stiff is it compared to a one-piece bat? sizzle
The 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA (SBL5AJ Slow Pitch Softball Bat) will not feel as stiff being a two-piece design. The HMF TECH will add greater strength and performance.
Brandon
How does this bat fair with 52 core balls? jb1990
The 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBL5AJ) was designed to work with the new .52 core ASA balls so it should perform well and be very durable with those type of softballs.
Patrick
Can you hit the old ASA 44 core 375 compression balls with this bat? mountain
The 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBL5AJ) would see durability issues and would break if used with the harder 44 core balls.
Patrick
What is the temperature restrictions for this bat? David fear my pitch
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload (SBL5aJ), in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.

My JH Legit 2015 has a pink end cap with black outline. Most pictures I see are pink end cap with white outline. What is the difference? breezy hoov
The 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBL5AJ) is the ASA certified bat, which features the pink end cap and white piping, depicted here (http://goo.gl/mNPzkl). The 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload Flex Fifty USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBL5UJ) is the USSSA certified model that features the pink end cap with black piping, depicted here (http://goo.gl/Ehm10f). The main difference between the two (other than their respective certifications) is that the USSSA model features the Flex Fifty technology, which will allow for more flex on contact.
Tessa
Which is a hotter or better bat for an ASA league using .52 core balls, the SBL5AJ or the HD52? Steve
Both the 2015 Worth Legit Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBL5AJ) and the 2015 Worth Sick HD52 Jeff Hall Reload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBSJHA) are both nice options. They will both perform very similarly at their peak. The preference would come between whether you like a two-piece design with more flex or a one-piece design that will have a stiffer feel.

About the Brand

Worth, Inc. can trace its beginning back to the year 1912, when George Sharp Lannom, Jr. purchased a tannery in Tullahoma, Tennessee and established the Lannom Manufacturing Company. Initially, the firm tanned leather for harnesses and horse collars they manufactured. However, as the automobile grew in popularity, the demand for the company's harnesses and collars declined, so Lannom shifted its manufacturing resources toward production of leather covered baseballs and softballs under the "Worth" brand, and men's leather dress gloves under the "Craig" brand.

Charles (Chuck) E. Parish joined Lannom in 1930 as a salesman and married G.S. Lannom, Jr.'s daughter, Martha Lannom several years later. Following Mr. Lannom's death, Parish acquired controlling interest in the company, which led to a division of company assets between himself and Lannom's son G.S. Lannom III. Lannom maintained the glove works while Parish, "The Baron of Baseballs," built the Lannom baseball business into the world's largest manufacturer of baseballs.

Upon graduation from Vanderbilt University in 1959, Chuck Parish's son, John, joined the Lannom organization. He persuaded his father to expand the company's Caribbean operations and enter the baseball bat business in 1970. In 1975, following the death of his father, John Parish took over the reigns of the company. Under his leadership, the company diversified and expanded its production line and developed the personnel, technical know-how, and physical facilities to become one of the largest and most financially sound manufacturers in the entire sporting goods industry.

The WorthSports Company was formally organized in 1975 as the sales and marketing arm for all sporting goods products and divisions of Lannom. In addition to the normal marketing functions, Worth also emphasizes and provides new product research and development. In fact, the emphasis placed on this development is largely responsible for Worth's leadership role in the sporting goods industry.

When Worth entered the bat business all bats were made from Northern White Ash. Worth then established wood mills in Pennsylvania and New York to provide the strong but relatively lightweight ash wood stock. Then directions were shifted to aluminum and other composites and in 1968 Lannom Manufacturing produced its first aluminum bat. The company's Jess Heald was primarily responsible for its development. The sale of aluminum bats to amateur baseball and softball players mushroomed in the 70's, helping Lannom achieve record results. In 1994, because of market demands, more emphasis was placed on the aluminum division and an expansion was completed in Tullahoma.

One of the first and most significant results of the R&D program was the development of the Polyurethane (Poly-X™) core for baseballs and softballs. This one innovation revolutionized the entire softball world; up to this time, the traditional softball core was constructed of cork and latex. Worth, through the use of "petrochemical" formulation, created a softball that was more consistent in performance and demonstrated extended durability, thereby setting the stage for the establishment of formal specifications and standards for the industry. More recently, the expanded research and development team has made another revolutionary addition to the aluminum bats called the SuperCell EST (Exterior Shell Technology) Bat.

One product Worth is very proud of is its RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) baseballs and softballs. Introduced in baseballs in the late '80's, the RIF design features a polyurethane center that makes the ball softer than the traditional yarn wound ball, while keeping the weight, size and liveliness. The balls are used mainly in youth leagues, where safety is of major concern. The technology is now being used in Worth softballs as well. New technology is constantly being developed to revolutionize the softball industry as we know it today.

In 2007, Worth was acquired by Jarden Corporation and is now a division of Rawlings and Jarden Team Sports.
