Description

New! The Rawlings VELO BBCOR Bat! The BBRVE is the end-loaded version of the original VELO. The Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat BBRVE is designed to give hitters a slightly end-loaded feel and more power behind the bat. Ever since Rawlings released one of the first BBCOR bats on the market, they've been working hard to perfect the science behind creating the best BBCOR bat possible. This begins with the VELO's Comp-Lite End Cap that is fused to the alloy barrel using Bi/fusion Technology. It features a one-piece design crafted from Rawlings' VELO Alloy that has unmatched durability and trampoline effect. As a result of precision manufacturing VELO bats are consistently hotter than other leading alloy bats and perform at the maximum level allowable by today's standards. Precision Optimized Performance (pOp) Technology is applied to the VELO to isolate extra weight into smaller regions on the barrel to further improve barrel flex and eliminate the need for annoying rings found inside some BBCOR bats. Rawlings: The Mark of a Pro! The VELO is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. Free Shipping!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat: BBRVE? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is the barrel on this bat extended more than the regular balanced Velo 2015? What is the difference between the two? naks
The barrel length between the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) will be similar. The main difference is the way the weight is distributed. The weight on the End-Loaded model is more focused to the barrel giving it a slightly heavier feel to the hands of the player.
Patrick
Does this have a similar swing weight compared to the Voodoo? Joey
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) is going to have an end loaded swing weight like the DeMarini Voodoo.
Frankie
Is the 2015 VELO similar to the 2014 VELO? lion hearted
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) is a new end loaded model of the VELO. The 2014 model was only available in a balanced option. The 2014 model and the 2015 model have the exact same design. The only difference is the cosmetic appearance from the 2014 model and the 2015 BBRVB model. The BBRVE is the end loaded model.

I have had the bat for about two weeks and have been using it every day at practice for bp. The ball still doesn't seem to come off the bat as fast as I would expect. Is this because it is not fully broken in yet? KLJ
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) is an alloy barrel bat and it does not need a break-in period. If you feel that the bat is not performing due to a defect of some sort, the best course of action would be to send the bat to the manufacturer so they can test it. The VELO should be hot out of the wrapper. BBCOR bats are a bit dulled down from senior league bat performance so that may also be a difference you are noticing.
Patrick
Does the end load version of the VELO come in a 32"? Mashin
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) is manufactured in a 32" and 33" model. Unfortunately, we are currently out of stock on the 32" model.
Joe
Will this bat have a similar feel to the Easton S3 2013 model? BDOG
No, the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) will have an end loaded swing weight while the 2013 Easton S3 will have a balanced swing weight. The VELO (BBRVB) model which is the balanced design will have the most similar swing weight to the S3.
John
Will this bat be easy to control during your swing and be quicker through the zone? BDOG
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR End-Loaded Baseball Bat (BBRVE) has an end loaded swing weight. This can slow down your swing since the weight is primarily located in the barrel. If you were wanting a bat with a light swing weight then I would take a look at the balanced design of the VELO. The model number for that VELO is BBRVB.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
