GREAT bat! Chad parent
Pros: Great POP & Massive Sweet Spot. You won't be disappointed!!!! Our team LOVES the new Mizuno!
Cons: None so far!!!
mizuno generation broke ryno player
Pros: love the grip had awesome pop at first with no vibration what so ever.
Cons: broke after a couple of days and went completely dead
Generation vs. Mako Ricky parent
Pros: This bat has great pop and the ball fly's off the barrel. In fact my son put down his Mako and is now swinging this every at bat. My son is 11 years old and hits to all sides of the fields and mixes in a home run on occasion. In his words, "Daddy, I feel like I have more control with this bat than any I have had before." Very consistent at the plate.
Cons: None
Great pop and control ... while it lasts :( YankeesXV parent
Pros: Awesome pop, very easy to swing for my 10U son. Great control, very balanced bat.
Cons: 11 days in and bat started showing dents, and a huge dent after a solid hit. Only used real baseballs. Great bat, hope the denting is a fluke and not a manufacturing issue. Great service from JustBats.com as always!
Nice Cub Fan parent
Pros: Got this bat for my son only because we love Mizuno gloves. It did not disappoint. Great balance and a ton of pop right out of the box. Seems to have a real wide sweet spot. My son is not a power hitter yet but he has hit over the fence it practice with this bat. He has never done that in the past with any other bat.
Cons: Not sure that I have any cons yet on this one.
Nice Job Mizuno Pete player
Pros: My son loves his new Generation. Says it has great pop. He's hitting the ball like never before. We haven't had any durability issues. Great bat Mizuno!
Cons: We had to regrip the bat after a couple weeks. Not a big deal because my son wanted lizard skin anyways.
Great bat JR coach
Pros: Balance Pop Sounds like a wood bat crack Nice grip Son moved up from 2-piece S2 and he is hitting all over the outfield.
Cons: None so far
A steal for $180 MarK parent
Pros: Out performed my son's other bats for a fraction of the price. I definitely would recommend and encourage everyone to give Mizuno's Generation a try. So far we haven't had any issues with denting or performance and she's been swinging it since Sept.
Cons: So far so good. Will probably have to redo the grip in a couple weeks.
Generation vs Rawlings 5150 TG parent
Pros: My 8-year old demo'd this bat (28/18) after starting the year with a Rawlings 5150 (also a well-rated bat). After hitting the Generation for two practices, he said to me, "Dad, this bat is awesome." He even offered to use some of his allowance to pay for it. Great bat from what we've seen so far.
Cons: Can't find any yet.
Great Bat Kelly parent
Pros: My son has always used Louisville's Omaha but decided to give this bat a try. He started hitting it before Christmas and has had great success. His hitting instructor said this bat is more balanced giving him more control. I like it and would recommend it.
Cons: No issues so far.
A steal at $180 James coach
Pros: GREAT GREAT GREAT BAT! My son demoed it a couple weeks ago and we decided to pick one up. Now the whole team is swinging it and we are crushing the ball. I'm probably going to get another one. Tough bat to beat at $180!
Cons: Zero
Nice Pop Coach Dad parent
Pros: I thought this 30"20oz was going to be a little heavy for my 10 year old in his first tournament, but he handled it very well. This bat has some real major pop. He belted a couple of Deep Flyballs, but no HR yet. Only doubles so far.
Cons: I have nothing bad to say
#MIZUNO GENERATION RULES Ryan player
Pros: Everything about this bat is great! Ever since I've been using this bat I've been hitting line drives every single game! Doesn't vibrate at all but I've had a few dents in my bat but I'm still able to hit great so the dents don't really matter. Thanks Mizuno for making this awesome bats
Cons: No cons
Ok, but not a super star Coach Wes coach
Pros: great feel, big sweet spot, looks great
Cons: not a ton a pop with out a big strong swing. hits like a BBCore
pretty good dfvcwdcedvcervrf other
Pros: this bat has sooo much pop its crazy and scary everthing feels so good about this bat its super balanced and it looks hecka cool
Cons: this bat had a giant dent after my first hit with it so its not used very long but a 9 or maybe 10 year old can use this bat and it will be the best bat ever to them
Amazing pop Cody parent
Pros: Ball literally jumps off this bat. My 9 y/o was a hard groundball hitter before this bat. Now he is driving liners deep into the outfield.
Cons: Need to see how it holds up on durability.
Great price, son loves this bat Justin parent
Pros: My 9yo moved from a 28/18 Marucci One to this Mizuno 29/19 and absolutely loves this bat. He's putting the ball in the air more and to the outfield so I couldn't be happier. As mentioned in other reviews, you don't get the ping when the ball is hit, sounds more like a wood bad. Little to no vibration issues and it has good balance.
Cons: Nothing yet, he's been using it for about 6 weeks now.
Great big barrel MC Patriots Dad coach
Pros: My son loves the feel and minimal vibration on contact. Good distance off the bat.
Cons: None yet.
Great balance and pop! Eric S. coach
Pros: This bat has great pop from the very first swing. The ball shoots off the bat and goes further then the other bats my son has used. It is well balanced and is seems to be much better then the Easton and Rawlings bats my son has used.
Cons: None
Great bat playball parent
Pros: Nice pop, great balance, looks great.
Cons: none so far
Awesome bat for the money gman coach
Pros: Awesome bat for the money. No high ping sound, solid feel, hits very well, ball goes as far as the higher priced DeMarinis and Easton, very balanced. Haven't had it long enough to know it's durability but it seems like it's holding up very well to team use.
Cons: Sweet spot just a bit smaller than the competitor.
Hot right outta the wrapper! EricMcJ31 coach
Pros: I ordered 27/17 for my 8 year old. The ball sounds funny coming off the bat but man its got crazy pop! I hope it holds up like this all summer long (we play a ton of ball).
Cons: Bat has a weird sound when you hit the ball with it, but doesnt seem to affect its performance.
great bat for the money sounds diiferent looking for something different parent
Pros: The bat seems to have great pop and control for 8yr old. Although, the bat has plenty pop, it does not sound the same as Marrucci. It almost sounds dead or like a wooden bat, but has the same or similar pop off the bat.
Cons: sounds different like a wood bat personally I prefer a ping
Mizuno Generation 28/18 George coach
Pros: My 8 year old son who is 4'5 and 75# swings this bat (28/18) very well - he could probably swing a 29/19, but I think the 28/18 was the right choice for now. He switches between this bat and a 29/16 DeMarini Overlord 2 1/4" barrel, which is also a great bat. Overall, he has only been using this bat for a month, so durability is yet to be determined, but so far so good. And for $49, this bat is a steal.
Cons: Not a huge fan of the grip, but that is easily replaceable.
great bat. Dale parent
Pros: Son was swinging a mako but tried this after I picked this up for so cheap. Noticeable difference on pop and distance. He wont swing his other bat now.
Cons: not sure on durability yet. hope it lasts.
Mizuno Coach Garcia coach
Pros: My son the way the bat feels and the ball comes off the bat well.
Cons: none
Great bat for the money big daddy coach
Pros: Lots of pop and wont break the bank. Mizuno has done a good job with this bat.
Cons: With all the other reviews Im just worried about the durability. Being a 1 piece bat your going to get vibration that's with any make or model
Mizuno Generation South Texas Dad parent
Pros: Great pop. Use it for my 9yr old son and ge loves it. He won't use any other bat!
Cons: None so far
Garry Saffold-Coach Garry Saffold coach
Pros: I purchased this bat a couple of weeks ago and my 12 yr. old son loves it. He says he loves how it feels when he makes contact with the ball and there is no sting. So far, the Mizuno Gen, SL is living up to it's claims.
Cons: None so far.
Muzino Dennis coach
Pros: Pop out of the box. My whole 12u travel team swings them.
Cons: none
Mike H
Pros: Pop and look of the bat
Cons: Durability, My son is contact hitter on 11 yo travel team. Used the bat for 3 practices ... In 4th game of first tourney very top of bat near cap cracked. Very disappointing and annoying.
Good practice bat Marc parent
Pros: I bought the bat strickly for practice. Good price. Decent pop.
Cons: This is not a gamer, its has some vibration.
Great bat Caleb coach
Pros: For the price, great bat. Plenty of pop, good feel. Very pleased. Put durability at 4, because it hasn't been used very long. Would recommend. 12U team using 30/20.
Cons: None so far.
power hitters beware Earl Loftus parent
Pros: Excellent all around performance
Cons: Dented after a few indoor practices. Used by a 13 yr old. 32/22
disappointed in bat Don phillips parent
Pros: Son loves bat good pop
Cons: First bat dented in half a season 2nd bat dented after 3 games
mizuno gen sl captainmat coach
Pros: Bat has excellent pop, but sounds dead off the bat..My son and his team love it. Prefers this bat over demarini
Cons: Grip doesnt laat long
Great Bat For Price & Overall Jackson Five parent
Pros: Got the 2015 model of this bat on clearance. Bought it for a batting cage bat so my son's composite Demarini Paradox didn't get ruined. My son likes the sweet spot of this bat better than his Demarini. Bought a 30" bat and he normally uses a 29". It is 1" longer and 1 ounce heavier so he only uses when pitchers are on the slow side, but when he uses it this bat hit bombs. The way it is constructed makes it sound like no pop, but this bat has a huge sweet spot with lots of pop and no vibration per my son.
Cons: The new color is much better than the 2015 version. 1 month of use and no dents or complaints so far. Our opinion, this bat is a hidden gem for the price.
Son loves this bat! Liz Murphy parent
Pros: This is the first year he has been allowed to use a bat bigger than 2 1/4" and is SO excited. I thought there'd be no big difference but there is....when he makes contact that ball is FLYING! He hit a triple today & is beyond thrilled with is new bat.
Cons: I think he was a little disappointed at first with the "boring color" (he's 12), but he's gotten over it quickly and is loving the big hits he's getting!
So far so good Parent reviewer of 12 year old player
Pros: Sound of the pop of the bat is quite distinct when you hit the sweet spot, and I agree with others who have said it almost sounds like a wood bat. It helps a kid reinforce where to hit based on the sound. First time my son used it in a game he hit a couple of hard shots and got game MVP. Can't comment on durability since the bat is only 3 weeks old, thus only giving 3 stars.
Cons: None so far.
Good pop, Dead Sound, Cracked after one season Rayo coach
Pros: Jumps off the bat right out of the box
Cons: The dead sound is perplexing because for the entire season we weren't sure if the bat was actually supposed to sound like that. The ball popped pretty well, but not as well as the Louisville Slugger we purchased along with it as part of a bat pack. We played 36 games last season, and now through 7 games this season the barrel is cracked and the cap came off. I'm afraid we're out of the warranty period, too, so now we're stuck with a useless bat. Ultimately, we got one good season out of it, and it was used only sparingly because my son used the Louisville Slugger as his primary bat.
