Description

When the CAT 5 burst onto the baseball scene, it became one of the top aluminum bats on the market. This year, Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the CAT 6 (MSBC68) bat. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT 6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced. Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat features the USSSA 1.15 BFP Stamp. The Marucci CAT 6 carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2015 Drop 8 Marucci is an excellent bat Yardman player

Pros: Sweet bat! HUGE SWEET SPOT!! Very balanced for a drop 8. Easy to swing form the very first swing. Powdering the ball to the all fields! 12 yrs old, appx. 150 lbs and hammering the 31/23. Very minimal vibration felt even on cold days. Love my new Marucci !!

Cons: None that I can feel.

great pop Swing4Fences parent

Pros: my son just received the CAT6 and loves it. Great pop out of the wrapper and very balanced. He had to switch to all aluminum and -8 for the middle school team but the transition from a drop ten half/half has been seamless. In fact he has the CAT6 as his number one bat.

Cons: None so far.

Boom! Scott D coach

Pros: Just bought the 29" for my 9yr old son and wow! I have never seen him hit so well. The -8 weight means the user needs to be physically strong enough to swing hard but the balance makes it much easier. One of the best I've ever seen in 5 years of coaching and that includes all of the expensive composites. Looks great too.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Cat 6, not what I expected from Marucci David parent

Pros: I purchased a Cat 6 bat for my 12 year old son after having loved his 30" -8 Marucci Black 2 . Within 3 weeks of purchase the Cat 6 31/23 -8 had dented and cracked in several places. Had to return the bat for replacement but there were very few options in the -8

Cons: Soft bat, dents easily.

Great Bat Pranav Sundar player

Pros: The bat handle is amazing and you dont even need any batting gloves. The bat also is a balanced bat and wherever you hit it it feels great.

Cons: If you hit the ball on the barrel of the bat there is some vibration and painful enough for you to shake your hand a few times.

Kid loves it. Chris Parent

Pros: My boy (9U) says the bat has a bit more pop than his previous stick. I’m not going to say it’s improved his hitting, he’s getting it done the same. He might have a little more confidence though and we all know that’s as important as anything.

Cons: None so far. However, being asked to review on a product’s durability after owning for only a few weeks is a little silly.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

When will this Cat 6 Senior Bat (drop 8) be available for purchase? Smiley
The release date on the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is not official at this time, but it should be released around the first part of October.
Jason
Better bat: CAT 6 -8 or Easton XL3 -9, for an 11 year old contact hitter with power? JR
That will be a matter of preference. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters. The XL3 features an end loaded design, which is normally preferred by power hitters. Since the player can hit for both power and contact, it will truly be up to them and if they can handle the additional end load of the XL3, or if they want to stay with a balanced model like the CAT 6. Both are great options to go with.
Tessa
I am 4'9",104 lbs, and I am 10 years old. I am swinging a DeMarini Voodoo 2014 and it is working well. I am wondering, which length do you think I should get? Connor Fahy
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68).
Jason
Is this bat as balanced as the Black and will this bat last me about two years? Clack
Given the countless ways and situations a bat can be used in, it is impossible to predict how long the bat will last for a player. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a durable model and it does come with a 12 month warranty to protect against breakage. The CAT 6 will be similarly balanced to the 2014 Marucci Black Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBB148).
Patrick
I only buy Marucci bats for my 12yo. for the last 3 months he has been swinging a drop -3 Team Marucci. It's made him stronger, and he's hit a few shots, but he's not ready for it yet. What kind of results are reasonable to expect from his new Marucci CAT 6 drop -8? League Bound
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a great bat for a player that age. It is a one-piece all alloy design like his TEAM model. The CAT 6 will be more balanced but with a larger sweet spot. I think you will see better results with this CAT 6 due to the larger sweet spot and the lighter weight which will help him get through the zone quicker with faster pitching.
John
I have twins that play 9 year old travel ball (kid pitch). They are about 1" and 5 lbs. of each other. The tallest is 54" and is about 68 lbs. We are currently using the Cat 5 27/17. One is the lead off hitter and the other is around 5th. They both are home run hitters. What would you suggest for the Spring? Would the CAT 6 be good for both? Should they have separate bats? Brenda
The 28" or 29" 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) would be ideal. It is great for power or contact hitters. The balanced design will allow for fast bat speeds. Also, the fully alloy design will not require any period of break-in.
Brandon
I'm 9 years old, 5'1" and weigh 148 pounds. I've been using a DeMarini Voodoo 30" 21 oz. How will it compare to the new Cat 6? Rome
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is a one piece full alloy model featuring the AZ3000 Aerospace grade alloy. It will feature a more balanced swing weight than the Voodoo. Additionally, it will be quite a bit more stiff through the zone than the two-piece Voodoo.
Joe
Does this bat come with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter? Twins 14
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) is only available in a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. Marucci only makes the CAT 6 with a 2 3/4" barrel for the Coach Pitch version, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC6).
Jason
Is this bat allowed for the Intermediate 50/70 division of Little League? Sundar
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) will have the USSSA certification stamp and a big barrel. If your league allows big barrel bats, this would be perfect!
Brandon
I am 12 years old. I am 4"11 and weigh 90lbs. What size should I get? Rj
We would recommend a 30" in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) for you.
John
Is it legal in the Babe Ruth 13-15 division? Wetz
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) features a fully alloy design with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. These features make it legal for play in the Babe Ruth 13-15 year old division.
Jason
I am 66" (5'6) and 125 lbs. What size bat should I get? METTE
I would suggest a 32" 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) based on your height and weight.
Jake
What is the weight distribution? Is it balanced or end loaded? tiffdl
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) has a -8 length to weight ratio and has a balanced weight distribution.
Jason
My 13 year old son is 5'4 and 110 lbs. What size bat would you suggest? Thanks. Mary
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 31" Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68.
John P.
How long will this bat typically last? Kairos
The lifespan on the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 will vary. Depending on the usage (bat used for all practice, games, batting practice, only one player using, etc), the weather (weather under 70 degrees can diminish the lifespan of a bat quicker) and whether or not the ball is hit on the barrel versus the end cap or towards the hands will all affect the bat's durability. With that being said, the average lifespan will be tough to pinpoint.
Cameron
Can this bat be used in Little League Junior division? Kevin
Yes, this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) would be legal in the Junior Division of Little League Baseball.
Ben
I am looking at the Cat 6 and the XL3. I would appreciate any thoughts in comparing the two. Rodg
The Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 and the 2016 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16X38 are both one-piece alloy bats. These two bats will feature different swing weights though. The 2016 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16X38 will feature an end-loaded swing weight while the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 will have a balanced swing weight. The Marucci and its balanced swing weight will be beneficial for the player that is more of a contact hitter. It will feature a larger sweet spot but less concentrated in weight (sweet spot that is). The XL3 will benefit the power hitter more as the sweet spot on this bat will be smaller but more concentrated in weight. What this creates, is more of a pendulum/whip effect with regards to the barrel; thus creating more distance on balls that are centered on the sweet spot. A top heavy bat can cause top hand lag though. This barrel lag will lead to a slower swing and a bat path that is less ideal for making consistent/quality contact.
Cameron
My son is 12 and is 5'3" and 135 pounds. Would you recommend the 32" bat? MrkingWB
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would recommend going with an option of this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68) in the 31" or 32" size. If you are feeling better with 32" option that will be just fine for use by your player as long as you feel he can handle the 24 oz weight of the 32" option.
Ben
My son is 13 years old 5'1" and 110 lbs. Would the 32 inch -8 be a good bat for him? astros baseball
Based on his height and weight, we would suggest the 31" model in the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68. If you feel that your player has good bat speed and strength though you could certainly jump up to the 32".
Jason
My son is 13 years old, 5' tall and 95 lbs. He has been using (and really likes) the Adidas EQT 30" 22oz, but we can't find that bat for sale anywhere, even on your site which we have purchased over 10 bats from your company due to selection, price, and trust. Would you recommend the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (this would need to be USSSA certified as well) as an excellent alternate to the Adidas bat? Rob
First off, we certainly appreciate your business and kind words. As for the recommendation, I believe this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 would be a great option as an alternative to the EQT. The Cat 6 will provide you with the same 30" 22oz. size, as well as an improved AZ3000 alloy for season-long durability and proven performance. This bat is USSSA certified.
Tyler
My son is 4'8" and 70 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? Ryan
Based on his height and weight, would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 in a 30 inch model as this bat is not made in a 29 inch.
Cameron
These appear to be different than the original CAT 6. The graphics are different and I believe the original had a taper at the knob. Are these a newly designed CAT 6? How else are they different from the original? Joe
The Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 we now have in stock do not have a flared knob style, and "Marucci" on the barrel is in grey instead of red. Other than that, these models would be the same as the previous model.
Logan
Do you get two bats for the price? madbadger
Any bat packs featuring the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68 would get you the bat(s) listed at the one listed price.
Cameron
If we order the bat grip with the bat, will you put it on the bat, or will we have to do that? Mickey71
We do not put on the bat grips; they are sent as an accessory. The customer would need to apply the grip to the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC68.
Daveron
What's the main difference between the Marucci Cat 6 and Cat 7? Nick
While the overall design of these bats will be similar, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC78) will feature several updates. The CAT 7 is made with an updated alloy material as well as the second generation AV2 Knob. The sweet spot found on the CAT 7 will also be larger than the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68).
