Louisville Slugger 715 Mike McCarville player
Pros: The balance and pop of this bat is off the charts. With my old marucci my hands would hurt every time i made contact towards the handle. With this bat i hardly feel a thing, i think it is because of the composite handle. I like the aluminum barrel mixed with the composite handle i think it is great enginuity.
Cons: Slightly barrel heavy but nothing i can't deal with.
Never had a better bat CKnowles player
Pros: The vibration is almost zero, if you couldnt see where the ball hit there would be no way to tell if it hit the endcap, handle, or barrel because as long as the ball meets the barrel it feels like you hit the sweet spot. The pop is amazing even fresh out of the wrapper i was hitting stingers down the lines and bullets into the outfield. The design is awesome and looks amazing. Even my coaches were impressed with the bat.
Cons: The grip is a little slick when you have batting gloves on. Other than that the only other con is having to constantly stop your teammates from trying to use it when youre not looking. All my coaches lined up to take a few swings in the cages as well
Still not the same.... Johnny baseball player
Pros: Great bat. Descent weight distribution. Good pop can definitely drive the ball with this bat. Has a great feel and cool graphic. Louisville slugger did a good job with this bat.
Cons: This bat should not have replace the exo. They need to bring it back
Disappointed in Louisville Slugger Shane G. parent
Pros: Son like the bat, very limited use (<75 swings) so far he like the feel. Haven't been on a field or game with it so too early to tell, it's only been a month.
Cons: The paint is chipping already. Bat has the three spots, about 1/4" size, near the end of the bat where the paint is chipping off. It's flaking off back to the metal. Louisville Slugger calls this normal cosmetic wear, warranty denied? My son has used Easton and Demarini bats since he was 9, none have chipped like this. Stuck with it now.
Select 715 Dinger player
Pros: Absolutely no vibration anywhere, EXTREMELY EASY TO CONTROL, great for the player that gets singles and doubles. Great for stronger contact hitters.
Cons: Paint scratches easily, pop is a little better than average, can't feel the hit, not the most balanced bat, not for the home run hitter.
Mark Mark player
Pros: This bat is great for hitting liners. You may accidentally get a couple of singers with it though, so just be on the look out.
Cons: Get scratched easily.
Son LOVES it John Weaver parent
Pros: My son was a big fan of Marucci before he got the Select 715. Color of bat matches his HS team and you can hardly feel vibration if hit off end or handle. Balls hit on the sweet spot you cant feel. Good pop out of wrapper but probably the same compared to other high end bbcor bats. Sounds more solid compared to other metal bats and has slight end load. Cant go wrong with this bat. Two of his teammates purchased one. I would say the best thing about this bat is the non- vibration. Better than Marucci
Cons: None so far
Lotta pop J player
Pros: Great pop anywhere on the barrel. Love the paint and the decals. No vibration
Cons: NOT AS BALANCED AS ADVERTISED. Be aware still has pop tho
best bat ever michael broughton player
Pros: Great pop great feel. Ball flies off the bat
Cons: Nothing at all!
Really Nice END LOADED BAT 15 player
Pros: I was looking for an end loaded bat, I looked at many. This bat has a very nice , wood like swing feel to it. This is not a balanced bat, this will seem heavier than other bats its weight and length. If you want a balanced bat look at the 915. You need to know what you are looking for. I have not had this long enough to comment on durability, but after a session or two of hitting a few hundred balls, the bat looks like it just came out of the wrapper. For that reason I gave it 5 stars, but truly, only time will tell. Everything else was great about it and I really liked the feel. Tip to all, know what you are looking for and stop buying bats based on the color, look, or gimmick. Also, most bats are weighed pre grip wrap, weighed this and it came in at 30.14 oz on a 32 inch bat. I also swing a Marucci Elite which has a more balanced feel, but since I have been working with wood all off season, I wanted the more end loaded feel. I think I found the right bat for me.
Cons: None so far, but again, not enough time to really give it a full test. Note to all, this does not have an extended barrel like you may find on a lot of composite bats. I think this is a hitter's bat, it has a good taper until you get to the barrel, thus making the end load feel. If you are looking for a balanced bat or a singles hitter bat, this is probably not it. If you need an XL sweet spot, this bat is probably not it. To reiterate from above, buy the right bat for you, not what your friends consider to be a good bat. Bats are bats, some are made better than others, but none possess the magic to make you suddenly hit the ball. You need to put in the work, with work will come knowledge, and then you will know what you want.
Terrible Bat ballplayer player
Pros: Had good pop and feel for the first seven at bats I used it for.
Cons: Hit one square on the barrel and the bat just died and broke on the inside.
Awesome Ball Player player
Pros: Great bat for the contact hitter that needs a little pop to stretch those singles into doubles.
Cons: Little paint chip, but that comes with the territory
Really good Travis Lee player
Pros: The pop on this bat is unbelievable! Better pop than the easton mako, and demarini cf series, any other bat. You can hit it anywhere on the bat and the ball will just shoot off your bat. It has the biggest sweet spot ever made! Also well worth the price.
Cons: Paint chips easily, and it is very top heavy/end loaded. Gotta be able to get the bat head out quickly.
best bbcor I've swung Ashton player
Pros: End-loaded bat that has a nice wood-like crack sound when you line it up. Overall great pop, most of my varsity team loved it and used it all year
Cons: chips easily, don't let everybody else use it (i made that mistake) I'm now looking for a new bat just over a year later

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
