Description

Every year, Easton unveils the latest game changing technology that revolutionizes softball bats to enhance player performance. Expect nothing less from Easton this season with the new MAKO TORQ. The MAKO TORQ combines power with a new genius twist: a 360 Degree TORQ Handle. This never before seen handle rotates to promote a fully extended swing, with the top palm facing up, and the bottom palm facing down. By allowing the wrists to move freely, the MAKO TORQ technology gets the barrel to the zone faster and keeps it in the zone longer, allowing the hitter to square up more pitches, more often with explosive power. There is no doubt the MAKO TORQ is way ahead of the competition, providing players with an increasingly important edge to stay on top! Easton added the 360 Degree TORQ handle to their high end MAKO softball bat. The two-piece, composite design is equipped with the same powerful technologies such as Easton's TCT Thermo Composite Technology and their ConneXion Technology. TCT Thermo Composite is engineered to provide top-notch players two major benefits: unmatched bat speed and a massive sweet spot. ConneXion Technology maximizes energy transfer for an optimized feel. To provide fastpitch softball players with a world-class feel, Easton also included their no slip gauze grip. There is a reason why champions swing Easton as they never settle for the ordinary! Easton is Sports Engineering! The Easton MAKO TORQ is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

MAKO Savannah player

Pros: This bat has a lot of pop and it is hot out of the box. I have a lot of success hitting lately as my old DeMarini went dead. I've hit more triples this past tournament then I ever had with any other bat. The grip is very comfy and overall the bat feels good.

Cons: The only thing that really concerns me is the handle. Although it is neat to have a rotating grip, I think it teaches bad mechanics. If you have your knuckles lined up how they are supposed to be then the handle wont rotate. Therefore, having a rotating handle is teaching us girls to turn over on the ball.

GREAT BAT Tom parent

Pros: My Daughter loves this bat. Seems to have a lot more pop than her old DeMarini . I spent the extra hundred to help teach her and her teammates good vs bad mechanics and challenge her to keep the handle from rotating. If the handle rotates, BAD, if not then she is doing the correct grip.

Cons: NONE SO FAR.

Wont turn. Senior softballer player

Pros: The pop is great, and I love the rotating handle.

Cons: I used a team bat and then decided to buy my own. The bat that I bought, the handle would not turn. If I am paying $500 for a bat that is different for one reason, and that reason isn't valid on the bat I bought. Needless to say, if I were able to get a refund I would.

Softball Mom Softball Mom parent

Pros: I purchased this bat for my daughter. She has always swung the Stealth & will continue to play college ball...so we updated. She said it has good pop but doesn't notice the rotating grip at all. She has excellent batting mechanics and has never had a problem with rolling her wrist. So the grip was not an added bonus for her.

Cons: None...Have always loved EastonBbats!

Do what is best for YOUR player, ....Great bat! Radbear parent

Pros: Daughter broke both forearms last year at the same time. Was possibly the end of her softball career. Over the winter she did strength training, but wrists were still a concern. After seeing this bat, we purchased it, thinking it would help take some of the strain off her wrist and allow her to come around faster to contact the ball. Boy has it ever!! She has been hitting minimum DOUBLES ever time. The velocity she is getting is incredible and she refuses to try any other bat..NOT EVEN ONCE. She is a hitting leader on her team. There were many detractors, old school coaches and parents , who either didn't understand the technology..or would never give up their daily Lattes to buy there child what they need to succeed. When my daughter steps into the batters box with this very recognizable bat...the other team knows she is serious. This bat has been worth every penny and we are glad we decided on our own to take the risk and try it.

Cons: None so far..other than teammates keep trying to "borrow" it when they come up to bat. [Told my daughter - NO SHARING THIS ONE!]

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP15MKT? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My concern is the rotating TORQ handle. When the player hits the ball and throws it down to the ground on the dirt, I see dirt getting in the groove of the handle. Has this been tested by throwing the bat on dirt? Will dirt get in and stop the rotation? Genny
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) has been tested for this very concern. Easton has gone to extensive measures to make sure dirt will not affect the ability of the TORQ handle. This is something that should not occur, but if it does, you are covered under a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
Jason
How is a moving part on a bat going to stay legal? If they allow this, what moving part is next? Joe
Most bat restrictions and rules deal with the performance capabilities of the barrel rather than other parts of the bat. The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) has been approved by all major softball associations and the baseball models of the bat have been approved as well. I cannot speculate as to future technological advances for future bats.
Patrick
I know other people who have the MAKO 2014, and they said they had to break it in. Is that true with the TORQ, as well? julia
Yes. I would recommend taking the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) through a break-in period prior to game use. This will ensure the bat offers the best performance possible and has the best shot at lasting durability.
Mac
I have a XENO 2014. I feel it has lost its pop. How long will the pop in the MAKO TORQ last? softball70
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) will hold its pop for a similar time period when compared to the 2014 Slugger XENO. Both are full composite designs and will swing very balanced. 2-3 years is a good estimate of how long the pop and performance will stay high.
Brandon
How does the MAKO TORQ compare to the CF7 DeMarini? 14U player
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) and the CF7 will both be fully composite designs. They both will feel very balanced in swing weight. The MAKO TORQ will have a handle piece that rotates 360 degrees. It will help the player square up the ball more efficiently. Either bat would be a great choice.
Brandon
Is the MAKO TORQ end loaded? juju
This 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) has a balanced swing weight.
Mac
Is the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ a multi-wall designed bat? Coop
Most composite barrel bats like the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) could be considered "multi-wall" designs due to the many layers of composite material used in the construction but would not have two independent wall sections.
Patrick
Does the rotating handle teach bad mechanics? Will it promote my daughter to roll over her hands? Ripper
Roll over is actually one of the things the rotating handle on the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) is intended to correct by always keeping the knuckles and wrists in proper alignment to hit. This will keep you shorter to the ball and enforce good hitting habits by getting the player used to how it should feel when they adjust the lower hand slightly during the swing to keep their hands in proper alignment.
Patrick
Is the moving handle and the awesome color the only difference between this bat and the 2015 white and orange mako? J.Ro07
Yes, the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) and the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MK10) will be the same bat except for the moving handle and the cosmetics in the MAKO TORQ.
Ben
I am 14. I weigh 116 lbs. and am about 5'5". What size bat would you recommend? s
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MK10) in a 32" 22 oz. model.
Joe
My daughter is 11 years old, 96 lbs and 4'5". She is playing 12U for the first time. What size and model would you recommend for her? Mario
For a player of your daughter's size, our bat coach is recommending the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) in a 31" model. However, the drop 10 on the TORQ is likely to be quite a bit too heavy for her, so we would recommend a 31" 19 oz. model such as the 2015 Louisville Slugger X12 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXL152).
Joe
I'm a highly competitive high school player. I sometimes have a tendency to rotate or roll my hands my hands during my swing. Would it be a bad idea to get a bat with a rotating handle? Laikin
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) helps with the rotation of the hands and wrist with having that rotating handle because the handle moves with your hand.
Frankie
Is this bat legal for NSA, ASA, and other sanctions? Tyrone
Absolutely. The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) features the USSSA, ASA, NSA, ISA, and ISF performance certification marks on its barrel.
Mac
Is the MAKO TORQ a balanced bat or an end loaded bat? Is this bat better for contact hitters, power hitters or both? T
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) features a balanced swing weight and would be a great option for any type of hitter.
Tom
I'm 13, and turning 14 soon. I weigh about 135 lbs and I'm about 5'7". What size would be good for me? nyi
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model in the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT).
Jason
How is it better than the original bats? BOB
The major difference between the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) and the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14MK) would be the modified handle. This rotating handle piece is designed to keep the player's hands and wrists in proper alignment to drive the ball and prevents rollover of the hands.
Patrick
My daughter plays 10U softball. She is 100 lbs and 5' tall. What size would you recommend? little joe
Based on her height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT).
Jason
How does the Easton Mako Torq compare to the CF8 DeMarini? jaclynnicole_14
The performance of the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) would be very comparable to the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFP). The major difference would be the modified handle on the TORQ which allows the player to keep their hands in proper alignment to drive the ball and prevents rollover.
Patrick
I am 116 pounds and 5 feet 5 inches tall. Which size bat would you recommend? kennah
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 32 inch size of the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT).
Patrick
My daughter is 5'7" and 150 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? softball22
For a player of her size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) 33" 23 oz. model.
Joe
Is this bat end loaded my daughter swings a rocket tech now. Or should i be looking at a different bat? jim
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) is a balanced bat. If you are looking for an end loaded bat I would consider the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFI).
Damon
My daughter is 5'3" and 130 lbs. what bat do you recommend? Escalade
I would recommend a 32" 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) based on her height and weight.
Jake
Will this bat stay legal for high school and USSSA play? I've heard they are considering making it illegal. Dburg
This 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) will feature the same TCT Thermo Composite material used on the regular MAKO models released from Easton. As far as the composite material is concerned, I don't think that it should present an issue for legality. As well, we haven't heard any rumors recently that this MAKO TORQ will become illegal for use in the near or distant future due to the 360 degree rotating handle.
Ben
What is the difference between the fastpitch 2015 Easton Mako Torq and the 2016 Easton Mako Torq as the 2015's are selling for much less? Sam
The main differences between the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MKT) and the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10) will be slight cosmetic differences. The reason the 2015 model is running for so much less cost than the 2016 line is because the only 2015 we have left in inventory is a used option that comes with no warranty.
Patrick
My daughter had a teammate this past weekend that told her she couldn't use this bat because of the recent updates to the ASA non-approved list. I can not find that this bat has been added to that list. Have you guys heard or read any different? Needra
I have not heard that the Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP15MKT has been added to an ASA non-approved list. This particular model, to my knowledge, is approved for play within ASA.
