The 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15S110) is a -10 model so it will come in a 30" 20 oz. model. Easton will also offer the 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15S111) which be a -11 model and come in a 30" 19 oz. model.

Does this bat replace the MAKO in Easton's 2015 line up? Will there be a MAKO or same type bat? Also does the TORQ take the MAKO's place in Easton's 2015 line up? Big D
The 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: (FP15S110) did not replace the 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK). The new 2015 Easton line up will include the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat: (FP15MK10). As for the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat: (FP15MKT), this model will be very similar to the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch (FP15MK10). The biggest difference will be that the new 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Fastpitch Softball Bat: (FP15MKT) will incorporate a 360 degree turning handle, that is designed to help players square up to pitches easier.

The 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15S110) features an IMX Composite barrel and SIC Black Carbon Composite handle while the 2015 MAKO Fastpitch bats are made from the newer TCT Composite material. The TCT Composite allows the MAKO to provide a larger barrel and sweet spot, while still retaining a balanced swing weight. Both bats have that balanced swing weight, and would be solid bats for contact or power hitters.

Can this bat be used in temperatures below 60 degrees? Jeff
We actually do not recommend that any of our composite or alloy bats are used in temperatures under 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This is due to the fact that the materials used to compose softballs and baseballs actually become more dense in cooler temperatures. The bats are not rated to hit objects of this density, and will be damaged more easily.

The 32" model of the 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15S110) is also 22 ounces. It has a length to weight ratio (drop) of -10. If a drop -10 is too light, you might try looking at a drop-9.

We have a FP13S3 but I think the one-piece design is the wrong bat as my daughter is more of a spray line drive hitter. I think we should have gotten the FP13S1 so how does this compare? Is this a two-piece design? karl
The 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15S110) is a two-piece model that would compare extremely well to the Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP13S1). It is basically the newer version of that same bat and it features enhanced technology for a better feel. This would be a great model for her style of play.

The Easton FS1 ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP15S110 and the Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP15MK10 are very similar in structure and both are comparable to the 2016 Easton FS3 CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16S312. The Easton FS1 has an IMX composite barrel like the Easton FS3 which optimizes the sweet spot and compression. The Easton MAKO has similar TCT technology that provides a massive sweet spot and unmatched bat speed. Other than the difference in composite technology, these three bats are roughly the same.

For your daughter's age and height, our general recommendation is a 31" bat length. However, bat size is largely dependent on a player's weight as well.
