Another GREAT bat from DeMarini Shane G. parent

Pros: Great bat, we had the 2014 Overlord and it was great. Son carries confidence to the plate with him with this bat! Only had it a week, two hitting lesson and two practices, he loves the bat!! Plenty pop, great feel and balance!

Cons: None yet!

2015 Voodoo Jackson DeAngelo player

Pros: This bat is great. I recommend it to everybody. Not just power hitters, but to everybody. The balance is perfect, end loaded enough power hitters will take advantage enough, and balanced enough weaker players will lose a little bit of swing speed but the added mass with the D Fusion handle more than makes up for the loss of speed.

Cons: Absolutely none.

LOVE THE BAT Kevin L. player

Pros: THIS BAT IS THE BEST BAT OUT THERE TODAY. I went to the field as soon as it came in. Im a sophomore, I went out on a 335ft field in the corner, 370ft power alleys, and 405ft to center, and I was driving balls out like crazy! I have never done though before and I've used the new 5150, xl1, mako, and the old overlord. Nothing compares! The closest is probably the old overlord than the xl1, but this bat still blows those out of the water! Great Bat! Out of a 1-10 rating I would give this a 11. ITS THAT GOOD!

Cons: The bat is almost to pretty I didn't want to hit with it.

OMG!!!!! Brad D. player

Pros: This bat dude. I don't know what it is. The pop and power you have, the feel, no vibration, its all amazing. I feel much more confident stepping up to the plate and balls on average are going about 30-40ft farther than they were with my old 5150 and 2014 5150. Its great! Using this you can tell why Bryce Harper hit that 502ft bomb with that old one, that bat is still in this bats blood. This bat is incredible!

Cons: None! Grip can get dirty but who really cares. Its white, it'll get dirty, if you don't like it get a lizard skin. It wouldn't look as pretty though.

Pros: i just got the bat today and it is amazing. the pop is outstanding and the feel is great. no vibration on almost any hit. i used to swing the 2013 voodoo but this bat is in a whole new league. it swings much faster as well.

Cons: you dont want to use in a cage because it will get scuffed easily

AMAZING BAT!!! braydon G player

Pros: i got this bat 2 days ago. i fell in love with it when i saw it, the bat is so nice i almost didnt want to hit it! i went to a park close to my house and was hitting bombs with this bat! even though im a little smaller i still love this bat, people say its for more of a power hitter, its for anyone really who likes a bat that is a little end-loaded. i am a sophomore in high school and i will be looking forward to hitting with this bat!!

Cons: only thing that was irratating with this bat has nothing to do with the bat itself it was very poorly gripped and it started to come off the second day i purchased it, it might have just been one that they didnt put much time into gripping.

Voodoo Overlord Brave#34 player

Pros: This bat has a great overall feel. The way the ball flies off the bat is amazing. To truly be honest the end-loaded barrel is very unnoticeable, the Overlord reminds me of the old BESR voodoos. I had the 2014 Mako and if you want my opinion then yes the Mako is more balanced but with the voodoo you get more bang for your buck.

One of the Best Bats Ive Used in a While Jake Randa player

Pros: It is a very balanced bat, unlike most bats. It is a great bat initially, my first couple swings the ball just flew off of the bat. one other Pro to the bat is that you get minimal vibration if you hit the ball off of the end of the bat. It almost feels lighter than a -3 because of how balanced out the bat is.

Cons: White grip can get dirty, but thats it.

Best of the Demarini line up Ethan Sloane player

Pros: I had a bat demo the other day and got to swing all of the new demarini lineup including the voodoo. It was insane I was aveagly hitting the ball with the other two bats but as soon as I hit the voodoo it was like I was a new hitter just crushing the ball. Its a little endloaded and stiff which I personally love. I promised myself going in that I wasn't buying another bat but couldn't help myself from getting one.

Overlord FT Cart player

Pros: This bat has so much pop. I switched from the 2014 Velo and I love the Overlord alot more. I'm more of a contact hitter but with this bat I can hit gap to gap. It does require time to get used to the end loaded feel compared to the balanced feel of a one piece. I'm still getting used to it but so far I'm 6-9 with the Overlord with 2 Doubles and 4 RBI. This bat is truly a great bat!

Pros: AMAZING Bat. huge pop for an aluminum barrel im about 5 foot 8 hitting balls close to 400 ft and im averaging 1 home run a game with this bat. I let no one else even touch it. I hit one out the other day and told the opposing catcher to be careful when he touches my bat because its pretty hot. balanced is perfect over all a perfect bat and you cannot beat the price

Good but with some drawbacks George in NH parent

Pros: Nice feel good pop nice looking bat Good sweet spot

Cons: Have had the bat one week and the handle is already unraveling. The grip after one week is coming apart. I read this in the review prior to purchase, but assumed something so simple would be address and fixed. Apparently not. Too bad as the bat seems great, but this makes the purchase seem disappointing as I have to replace the grip less than one week after purchase.

way better than the CF6 Alex parent

Pros: my son loves it much more than his 2014 CF6. Better pop. Nicer feel and sweeter sound. Plus his CF6 is now dead in less than a year and sounds strange too. His first at bat with it this week he hit a 300' double one hop to the fence as a 13 year old. he couldnt be happier with it. Plus the added bonus is that this model comes is available in a 32.5" also which is great since he wanted toove up from his 32" to a 33" but i worried that it would be too much bat for him so this was a perfect compromise.

Cons: I assumed that justbats.com shipped things from their mailing address in PA so inthought the free UPS shipping would have reached me in a day, but they ship from a warehouse in Missouri so it took almost 4 days. not their fault as it was clearly stated in their shipping policy section, but my son was disappointed when it didnt areive for one of his games.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Where can I try this bat out before I buy it? Mr. C daddy masta J
The **PRE-BOOK** 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will not be available until the first week of September. Unfortunately, you will not find it anywhere until then.
Brandon
This bat is made with the new X12 Alloy. What exactly will that do? And is it worth the extra money, or should I just get the 2014 Overlord? john
The X12 Alloy in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) provides a more responsive barrel for more power and will offer better durability/longevity. The 2014 Voodoo is still a great bat, and both are ultimately regulated by the same BBCOR certification.
Mac
Since all BBCOR bats are regulated by the same standards, how does the X12 Alloy give you more power? Wouldn't that be against the rules of BBCOR? Johnny Baseball
The alloy on the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be a higher grade alloy compared to some older DeMarini's. A better quality alloy will not only help pop but durability as well. The overall performance will be very high. All BBCOR bats must abide by the .50 BPF certification.
Brandon
Is this model going to be the best BBCOR bat? 764 L daddy masta J 4 shizzal
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXVDC) is expected to be one of the highest quality, top of the line models for 2015. Unfortunately, due to the fact this is brand new, we do not have to many reviews in regards to performance. However, the alloy has been changed from 2014, and the pop and durability has been improved. Therefore, I think this model will be one of the top contenders for the new 2015 models.

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT (DXVDC) will be a two piece, end loaded design.

How does the new X12 alloy compare to last years X10 alloy? Also what does the flame tempered handle help with? westmorlandjesus
The X12 alloy featured in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an upgrade from the X10 because it is designed to create optimal strength at the thinnest points. They also have upgraded the D-Fusion handle, so now it is flame tempered (FT). The new handle helps to make a stiffer feel on contact while providing protection against sting and vibration.
Tessa
How is the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) different from the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC)? KT Ripper
The X12 Alloy featured in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an upgrade from the X10 Alloy used in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord because it is designed to create optimal strength and performance at its thinnest points. Mac
Does the Voodoo have more of a one-piece or two-piece feel, even though it's two-piece? oso blanco
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has a stiffer flex than other two-piece bats with the D-Fusion Handle Technology. It still eliminates negative feedback better than a one-piece design, however.
Mac
My son is left handed and the grip doesn't last long. Is there anyway to get the grip wound in the opposite direction? baker
The grip on the **PRE-BOOK** 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is put on from the DeMarini factory. You could always add your own personal grip by using tape or Lizard Skins batting grip is also popular.
Brandon
Does the BBCOR have less pop than the senior league drop 5? Is the senior league bat BBCOR certified? john
BBCOR bats like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) have more restriction on the batted ball speeds and trampoline effect they are able to produce. Senior League bats like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVD5) adhere to a 1.15 BPF standard which allows for more trampoline effect but means that the bat is not BBCOR certified. BBCOR certified bats can also not be lighter than a -3.
Patrick
For 9th grade freshman baseball, does the bat have to be BBCOR certified? john
All levels of high school and collegiate play require BBCOR certified bats like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). If it is play that is not affiliated with high school regulations, they may be able to use other bats.
Patrick
Is the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT the same thing as the 2013 Voodoo? zach_ary873
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is fairly different than the 2013 Voodoo. They are both two-piece hybrid designs with end loaded swing weights. However, the 2015 OVERLORD FT has an X12 alloy barrel and Paradox composite handle. It also has a D-Fusion FT handle to help eliminate vibration.
Jason
Would this bat have a similar feel to the Easton XL1? Which bat would have a more balanced feel and which would have more pop? BombSquad
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be very similar to the Easton XL1, since they both feature a two-piece design as well as an end loaded swing weight. The main difference between the two is that the OVERLORD features an alloy barrel, whereas the XL1 is a fully composite design. They will have the same pop, since they both have to meet the same performance standards set by the BBCOR certification they both feature.
Tessa
I am a Senior in high school and a clean up hitter. Last season I swung the Rawlings 5150, and it had a good feel but not enough pop. Would this bat have more pop to it, and for a 6' 1", 220 pound clean up hitter, what would you recommend? JC042
The "pop" that a high-end bat offers is relative to the player. All of the bats in this category are capped in performance by the same BBCOR performance certification. Any difference you would see would come down to your preference in design and swing weight. That said, if you have high enough swing speeds already, the slightly end loaded swing weight of the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would create more momentum in your swing and could lead to more power. This Voodoo is definitely a high-end bat, but I couldn't say it would be the best fit for you; especially if you haven't swung an end loaded bat before.
Mac
How does the swing weight on this bat compare to the swing weight on the CAT 6? jake
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has an end loaded swing and the CAT 6 has a balanced swing weight. The OVERLORD FT will swing heavier than the CAT 6.
Jason
How does the swing weight of the 2015 voodoo compare to the swing weight of the 2014 Voodoo? Are they both equally end-loaded? Mike
The swing weight on the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be very similar to the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). The end-loading will be the same.
Patrick
Does this bat have the same amount of end load as the 2014 Voodoo OVERLORD? jose
Yes, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have the same type of end load as the previous year versions.
Brandon
How will this bat (as far as performance) compare to the 2014 CF6? Which bat will have the most pop and send the ball farther? Tyler
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features an end loaded, hybrid design, so it will feel different from the 2014 DeMarini CF6. The CF6 features a balanced swing weight and a fully composite design as well so unlike the OVERLORD, it will have to go through a break in period before it will see its top performance. With regard to pop, both bats feature the same .50 BPF stamp, which restricts the performance or "pop" that the bats are capable of; because of this, factors such as sweet spot size and feel at contact are often the biggest difference between bat models.
Tessa
Is there a difference between the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT bat and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD bat? If there is a difference, what is it? Ryan
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) are similar in design but the 2015 version has an upgraded X12 alloy in the barrel instead of the X10 used on the 2014 model.
Patrick
I'm a 15 year old sophomore and 145 lbs. who bats in the 2-hole, sometimes lead off. I'm debating on getting this Overlord Ft and the 2015 Rawlings VELO. Can you help? The Captain
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is typically loved by power hitters and will provide an extended barrel length. The Rawlings VELO will provide a more balanced feel and help provide quicker bat speed. At your size and spot in the batting order, the VELO would be a perfect bat typically.
Brandon
I am a power hitter. Would this bat be good for me? I also use the CF6. Is this bat comparable to it? Rich
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have more of a barrel heavy feel compared to the CF6 model. They will not feel comparable during the swing. The OVERLORD FT is loved by many power hitters. Both bats are very durable and high performing.
Brandon
How is this bat compared with last years model? lucas V the G
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT (DXVDC) features an upgraded alloy barrel as well as a stiffer D-Fusion handle for a more responsive feel.
Kelby
I'm deciding whether to get the 2015 Overlord or the 2014. They say there is not much of a difference or is there? jr
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) X12 alloy will provide a more responsive barrel for power and will offer better durability compared to X10 alloy of the 2014 Overlord.
John

Unfortunately, the largest size available for the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is the 34" model.

Is this bat slightly end loaded or fully end loaded? bob
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be fully end loaded. It will have an extended barrel length.
Brandon
What's the difference between the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Paradox and the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT? jase
The X12 Alloy featured in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an upgrade from the X10 Alloy used in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Paradox because it is designed to create optimal strength and performance at its thinnest points. They also have upgraded the D-Fusion handle which is now it is flame tempered (FT). The new handle helps to make a stiffer feel on contact for better energy transfer while providing protection against sting and vibration.
John H
Is this model made in a -5? Also, does a bat have to be BBCOR for Jr. high school play? my brah brah
Yes, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVD5) is the -5 model. Whether a bat has to be BBCOR certified for junior high play is dependent solely on the school. Each school will be different so it is best to check with your school's coach to verify the rules and regulations.
John H
I am a freshman in high school and I am a contact hitter who just tries to hit line drives in gaps. I do not swing for the fences. I had the rip it Prototype 2 and it was end-loaded and I couldn't get to the ball fast enough, so I got the Easton S1 and it is a fine bat except it is too light and I am always out in front of the ball and rolling over. I am looking for a bat that is not completely balanced but not extremely end-loaded. Is this the bat for me? conor
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a noticeably end-loaded feel. The two-piece design may flex a bit more that can lead to added bat speed but overall it would be a more end-loaded feel that would make it feel heavier.
Patrick
Whats the difference between this bat and the Voodoo OVERLORD 2014? derick
DeMarini has made some key differences from last years OVERLORD to this years brand new 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). This year, they upgraded the alloy material in the barrel. They now use the X12 alloy, versus the X10 alloy from years past. This new alloy uses an optimal blend of alloy agents designed to create optimal strength at the thinnest point. They also have upgraded the D-Fusion handle, so now it is flame tempered (FT). The new handle helps to make a stiffer feel on contact while providing protection against sting and vibration. Lastly, the ION-V End cap designed to enlarge and boost the sweet spot. I would say with these upgrades, this years model will be a higher performing one from last years model.
Tessa
Is it worth it to get this over the Paradox BBCOR from last year? i have none
The D-Fusion handle on the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has better sting and vibration reduction technology that provides a more comfortable feel than the handle on the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Patrick
How long is the OVERLORD's barrel? B.P.H
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features an approximate 8.5" barrel.
Tessa

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is more of an end loaded bat, while the Easton S500 senior league bat is balanced.
Frankie
I can hear sounds in my bat that are like rattling. Is that bad? mmmgpo
On most bats like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) a small rattle would not be a big deal. It is usually just a piece of excess glue or epoxy that has come loose or a piece of dirt or a pebble from the field. It should not affect the use of the bat.
Patrick
is this bat more endloaded then the xl1? mike
Both the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) or the Easton XL1 are end loaded bats. The Voodoo is a two piece hybrid while the XL1 is is a two piece hybrid.
Frankie
I'm 5'9" and 134 lbs. What size should I get? Is it more end loaded than the DeMarini CF6? I am more of a person who drops bombs. Ziggy
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has an end loaded swing weight and the CF6 has a balanced swing weight. The end loaded swing weight on the Voodoo OVERLORD FT is great for power hitters. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Jason
Would this bat be acceptable for Wisconsin 7th grade baseball? swagbaseball
Yes this bat will be acceptable for Wisconsin 7th grade baseball.
Frankie
How does this bat compare to the Louisville Slugger EXO? tiger baseball
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features an end loaded swing weight, which is more suited for a power hitter. The Louisville Slugger EXO feature a balanced swing weight, which is better suited for contact hitting. The OVERLORD FT is also a two-piece design, so it will allow for more flex on contact. The EXO features a one-piece design, so it will have a stiffer feel on contact.
Tessa
Does this bat have as much pop as the Louisville Slugger Exo? Spartans baseball
"Pop" is more a term traditionally associated with a player's hitting ability rather than a measurable feature of the bat. All BBCOR certified bats like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have similar maximum performance. What you end up seeing the difference on and what you end up paying for is the feel of the bat (balance, swing weight, feel, sting protection, etc.) and the durability (how long the bat will perform at maximum potential).
Patrick
I am more of a contact hitter. Is the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) good for me? Rode
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an end loaded bat and would suit a power hitter better than a contact hitter.
Damon
I used the 2014 Voodoo Paradox last season and used 2013 Voodoo the season before that. I liked the feel and balance both. Wondering about what bat for this season. Is there no 2015 bat equivalent to the Paradox? Concerned that 2015 Overlord may be too end heavy. Should I get a new Paradox from 2014? Matthew
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is going to be very similar to the 2014 Voodoo Paradox in regards to performance and durability. Essentially, the only changes are the addition of a D-Fusion handle which eliminates shock and vibration as well as a higher grade of alloy to increase overall power. The end-load is designed for power hitters, however the increased mass of the handle directs excess energy back to the barrel for increased performance.
Joe
Is this bat going to be more or less end loaded then last year's Voodoo Paradox? james
While both bats do have a slight end-load, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will feel more end-loaded than the Voodoo Paradox.
Jake
I swung the EXO last year. I heard that this bat was going to be the next best thing. How would it compare to the EXO in terms of pop and feel? tops
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a very high performing bat. It will have a more end loaded feel compared to the EXO3 from last season. The pop will be very close to the same. The durability will be very high as well. No break-in period will be required.

Joe
I am 5'8" and 120 Ibs. I would like to know what 2015 DeMarini I should get. Either the CF7 or the OVERLORD? I am more of a line drive hitter and not a power hitter. bulldog baseball 7
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would be a very high performing choice. It will feel slightly barrel heavy though. Power guys seem to love this bat. Since you are more of a line drive guy, the CF7 would be the more appropriate choice. It will be very balanced and feel light weight.
Brandon
What is the main difference between this year's model and last year's? Is it worth it for double the price? Cole
DeMarini has made some key differences from last year's OVERLORD to this year's new 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Tessa
I am about 100 pounds and just got a 31" 28 oz. 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD. However, I'm wondering if the Vexxum would be a better choice as I am a contact hitter. Will I notice a difference not having the fusion handle. What are the main differences in technology? Cott
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an end loaded bat which is recommended for power hitters. The 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) has an extremely balanced swing weight and is recommended for contact hitters. The Vexxum will feature a C6 composite handle for more flex and trampoline and an Ultra Light N2M End-Cap. The Voodoo OVERLORD which will feature the D-Fusion handle technology that helps eliminate vibration, ION-V End cap which maximizes energy creating a larger sweet spot.
Tom
I'm 5'1" and I'm training to use this for middle school. Should I get a 30" 27 oz. or a 31" 28 oz.? jacob
I would recommend using a 30" 27 oz. bat based on your size. Keep in mind BBCOR bats are intended for high school and collegiate level play.
Tom
Do you have to break this bat in? jacob
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a two piece hybrid bat with an alloy barrel that will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Tom
I'm 5'8" and 210 lbs. Should I get the 2014 OVERLORD or the 2015 OVERLORD? What size should I get? Braden Kelley (BK)
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 OVERLORD are both very similar bats. The 2015 OVERLORD FT now features new X12 alloy in the barrel compared to the X10 alloy that is used in the 2014 model. It ultimately comes down to personal preference, but the 2015 is a slight upgrade because of the newer alloy.
Jason
I'm 6'2", 160 lbs. What size should I get for this bat? Brenton
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 33" 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Tessa
I am 6'0" 202 lbs. Should I use a 33, 33.5, or 34 inch bat? Grant
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 33.5" model in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Jason
I've read conflicting information regarding the end loading of the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT compared to the 2014 OVERLORD. Some reviewers say the 2014 is slightly more end loaded than 2015, and I've also read the 2015 is slightly more end loaded than the 2014. Can I please get a definitive answer as to which is correct? Sean
Unfortunately, "how" end loaded a bat is can become pretty subjective. That's why you'll really see a wide variety of opinions in the reviews. But the balance point of the 2014 and 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD models is in the same spot on the 33" models. If you're looking for a slightly end loaded swing weight, either model year will be a great choice. DeMarini hasn't indicated a designed change to the end load between versions, and you'll feel the barrel on both during the swing.
Mac
I'm 6'0" and 190 lbs. What size bat should I use? Djrobbiec
Based on your height and weight I would suggest using a 33" 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).

Patrick

Joe
Is there a big difference between this model and last year's model? Gary
Both models are going to feature the same end-loaded feel and D-Fusion Handle Technology. The main difference is the alloy upgrade. The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has the X12 Alloy instead of last year's X10.
Chinyere
My son is 6' 3", 195 lbs and is a high school sophomore. He swung a 34" CF6 last spring and summer. What size would you recommend for the Voodoo OVERLORD? LPS884
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 34" 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). The OVERLORD has more of an end loaded swing weight compared to the CF6 though, so if you are worried about swing speed, a 33" would work as well.
Jason
Is this bat recommended for individual use or is it capable of team use? chocolate lava
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) can be used by multiple players. However, the more often it is used, the more its average lifespan will decrease.
Joe
What is the difference between the x10 alloy and the x12 alloy? TJ
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does feature the X12 alloy. This alloy is a higher grade alloy than the X10 used in previous models. Additionally, it will increase the performance and durability of the bat.

Joe
I am a sophomore on the JV team. I was wondering what bat is better, the OVERLORD FT or the new RIP-IT AIR Elite? I am not a power hitter nor a contact hitter. I am 50/50. Which has better feel and more pop? Chris
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will provide a longer barrel design and more of an end load. A power hitter with fast bat speed could get more out of a bat like this. The new RIP-IT bat line will feel much more balanced and have a lighter swing weight. This may give you a better feel and quicker bat speed.
Brandon
Can this bat be used in cold environments? Baseball Dad
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC), like any bat, should not be used in temperatures below 55 degrees. However, that is not always possible. The OVERLORD and its alloy barrel do tend to hold up better than composite bats in the colder weather though.
Jason
I am 5'11", 220 lbs. and a power hitter. I have good bat speed and power. Would this be a good choice? What other bats would you recommend? JakeLes2336
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Additionally, it does offer an end-loaded swing weight which is what we would recommend for a power hitter such as yourself. You could also consider the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) which features a two-piece full composite design with an end-loaded swing weight, or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153) which features a hybrid design similar to the Overlord, with an end-loaded swing weight.
Joe
Is this bat for a contact hitter or power hitter? Lbb
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is designed for a power hitter.
Frankie
What is the difference in the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD the same as the 2014 Voodoo OVERLORD? sj4955
The only different in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD is the cosmetics.
Frankie
I can't decide between this bat or the Easton Mako. I am more of a hitter for average but can drive the ball. I want to know what is the best for me. josh
Both the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) are nice models. The major difference that would determine which one you should get would be whether you prefer a balanced or an end-loaded feel. The MAKO is balanced while the OVERLORD is end-loaded. The OVERLORD would be usually preferred by more of a power hitter while the MAKO can be used by all types of hitters.
Patrick
What size do you recommend? I am a 5' 11" and 170 lbs. I'm a gap/power hitter (freshman). I tried to use a 33" RIP-IT (2014 model). I felt when I did I wasn't getting the right bat speed. I switched to a 32" CF5 (white model) and my bat speed felt like it was back up to 85. Last week I was in a tourney, and I kept hitting the ball off the end of my 32" bat on outside pitches. I tried a 33" OVERLORD and I didn't have any more trouble. I am wondering if you think I should get a 33" or 32.5". Pete
It sounds like the best size in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) for you is the 33". I would stay with that size since it cured your trouble of reaching those outside pitches.
Brandon
Does the 2013 Voodoo have the same feel as the 2015 Voodoo Overlord, such as the swing feel? rob
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a different feel than the 2013 Voodoo. In the new 2015 model, they use the X12 alloy, versus the X10 alloy from years past. This new alloy uses an optimal blend of alloy agents designed to create optimal strength at the thinnest point. They also have an upgraded the D-Fusion handle, so now it is flame tempered (FT). The new handle helps to make a stiffer feel on contact while providing protection against sting and vibration. Lastly, the ION-V End cap designed to enlarge and boost the sweet spot. I would say with these upgrades, this years model will be a higher performing one from older models of the Voodoo. The end load/swing weight will feel the same though.
Tessa
Does this bat or the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 have the best overall for a power hitter? T Money
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is designed for a power hitter while the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 is designed for a contact hitter.

I would recommend using a 32" 29 oz. 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC)
Tom
I am 5'7" and 136 lbs. What size do you recommend? troy
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Tessa
I am 4'10" and need a -3 for this high school season. Any advice on length? I weigh 77 lbs. Chris
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a very high performing bat. But it may be too barrel heavy for you currently at your sizing. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) would feel more light weight and balanced. It also comes in the 29/26 size. Which would be recommended for you.
Brandon
What type of barrel does this bat have? walls
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It will also feature a slightly end-loaded swing weight.
Joe
My son is 5 foot 11 and weighs 175 pounds. He doesn't make as much contact as he should, but when he does, he hits the ball really well and with good power. I am looking for the right bat for him. I was thinking the Easton XL1. Your thoughts? Dave
If the player is more of a power hitter and likes an end-loaded feel, end-loaded designs like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) or the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) may be a good option to help the player maximize the power they can produce. Based on height and weight, we would suggest a 33 inch size of the bat.
Patrick
For a power hitter would the DeMarini Voodoo be better or the Easton XL1? Dusty
There only real difference between the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) is that the Voodoo is a two piece hybrid and the XL1 is a two piece composite. Both will feature an end loaded swing weight, so it really comes down to personal preference.
Tom
I am 6'4" and 167 lbs. I am a freshman, what size do I need? El Paso
For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) in a 34" 31 oz. model. The two-piece design allows for additional flex through the zone, which typically increases your bat speed, however the end-loaded swing weight is more intended for a power hitter. If you were looking for a similar model with a balanced swing weight, we would recommend the 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) in the same size.
Joe
I am 5'2" 110 lbs. I would like to know if a 31/28 is probably to heavy? ballplayer
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). If you are confident in your strength and your swing speed though, you could certainly bump up to a 31" model.

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Typically, the Voodoo is preferred by power hitters due to the end loaded swing weight. Joe
Would you recommend the Overlord or Voodoo for me? I am 5 foot 7 150 pounds. Big Daddy
Which would be better suited for you between the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would be based less on your size and more on what you are looking for. The difference between the bats would be the D-fusion handle which helps to eliminate sting and vibration more efficiently as well as the upgraded X12 alloy. Both of those are featured on the 2015 OVERLORD model. Both bats are nice options and have similar end-loaded feel to them and perform well.
Patrick
After watching the new videos on this Voodoo it says it will have an even stiffer feel than previous Voodoos. If this is true will it feel almost as stiff as a one piece? Also, what is the stiffest bat on the market right now? Vinny
The stiffer feel on the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does give it more of a stiff feel more similar to a one piece. The stiffest bats will still be one piece alloy designs.
Patrick
Is this Voodoo better than the Vexxum? bigmac
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Additionally, it offers an end loaded swing weight as well as the D-Fusion handle. The 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) features a two piece hybrid design with an extremely balanced swing weight. The Voodoo is more suited for power hitters, while the Vexxum would be ideal for a contact hitter.
Joe

No, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will not require a break in period since it features an alloy barrel that is hot right out of the wrapper.
Tom
Would you reccomend this bat for a power hitter or do you prefer another one? Hitter

Whether the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is too end-loaded for you would depend on your strength and your preference of feel. If you like an end-loaded feel, this bat will provide that. If you don't or are moving up from a lighter drop weight, I would say you should go with something more balanced.
Patrick

If you are more of a contact hitter, we would recommend looking at a balanced bat, that will be easier to work on bat speed and bat control. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" bat.

Ben

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has a -3 drop. This means if you take 33 inches minus 30 ounces you are going to get -3. It is the difference of the length and weight.
Frankie

Based on your height and weight, our Bat Coach recommends a 33" 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). Sizing is preferential though, so if you would feel more comfortable going with a 33.5" bat, that is definitely something to take into consideration as well.

Patrick.
Is the end cap heavy? theo
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does have a barrel heavy or end-loaded feel put that is not all necessarily due to added weight on the end cap but more throughout the barrel area.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 6 and weigh 190 pounds. I use a 32 inch 29 ounce bat. Should I still use this size? jason
Based on height and weight, we would think that a 32 inch or 33 inch model of the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). If you are used to a balanced model, you may want to go with a 32 inch in this bat which is end-loaded.
Patrick
My son has a choice to use this BBCOR bat or a drop 5, 1.15 stamped bat in tournaments. What bat would have more pop this 32 inch drop 3 Voodoo Ft BBCOR or a 32 inch Easton XL3 drop 5, 1.15 bat? baseball dad
The 1.15 BPF rating on the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) would allow for a higher batted ball speed and faster swings compared to the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). If he is allowed to use it, the -5 would be the way to go.
Patrick
There seems to be a slight ripple on the barrel of this bat. Is this where DeMarini decreased wall thickness or is it something I should be concerned about? the best
Every 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have that slight ripple just because that is how they are made. It does not effect the performance of the bat in anyway.
Allison
Is this bat the same as the 2014 model? Patty
The overall design of the 2014 and the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is the same. The 2015 model has a new D-Fusion FT handle. The FT stands for flame tempered and gives the bat a stiffer feel.
Frankie

Yes, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does feature an end loaded swing weight like the Easton XL1.
Frankie
Which is better for a power hitter, the 2015 or the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord? The better
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord will both be designed for power hitters.
Frankie
I am 5'10" and 160 lbs. What size should I get? Right now, I use a 33" Louisville slugger EXOGRID. Tyler
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). If you are comfortable with your 33" EXOGRID, then you can certainly go with a 33" Voodoo as well.
Jason
Do scratches/little nicks affect the performance of this bat? bgg2000
If the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) had scratches or nicks on the bat it would not affect the performance.
Frankie
I know that both the Overload FT and the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 are both designed for power hitters but what bat is said to have more power over the other? Mike
It would not be that either the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) would simply outperform the other. It is more about the feel of the bat fitting what the player prefers. The Voodoo has a more barrel heavy feel while the Prime 915 will be more balanced. The preference would come down to which feel you like more.
Patrick
Does it have a lot of vibration? sean baseball
No, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does not have much to any vibration. The D-Fusion handle helps reduce any vibration when you do not square up the ball.

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC has an end loaded swing weight and is typically a better option for a power hitter.

Frankie
What do you recommend for me, I am 5 foot 2 inches and 130 pounds. The CF7 or OVERLORD? jack
Depending on what type of hitter you are will determine which bat would be the best for you. If you are a contact hitter then the DeMarini CF7 would be the best option for you but if you are more of a power hitter then the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC would be the better option for you.
Cooper
I am 6'0" and 185 lbs. Would this bat or the Easton MAKO be better? bob
Both bats are going to be excellent options. It really comes down to what type of hitter you are. If you are a power hitter I would suggest going with the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) since it is an end-loaded bat. If you are more of a contact hitter I would suggest the MAKO since it is more balanced.
Jake
I am a power hitter that drives the baseball gap to gap. I am not sure whether to get the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT or the Marucci Cat 6 one of the workers at the store told me he prefers the Cat 6 because the Voodoo tends to flex. Is there really a noticeable flex? Which of these bats has more power? Colton M.
While the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would have a bit more flex than the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614), it is not an overwhelming amount. In fact, compared to most two-piece bats, the Voodoo OVERLORD FT has a very slight amount of flex. The major difference and what your preference should more likely be based on would be the weight of the bat. The OVERLORD is end-loaded while the Cat 6 is balanced.
Patrick
I've been using a 2014 Voodoo Paradox, would the switch be much of a change or will they have the same feel? big p
The switch from the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Paradox to the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC would not be a big change. They both have the end-loaded swing weight. They main difference between the two is the D-Fusion handle that comes on the OVERLORD which reduces vibration.
Cooper
Can you guys do a comparison of the 2015 Voodoo and the 2015 CF7 please? 2k15
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) are pretty tough to compare because they are so different by design. The Voodoo is an end-loaded, hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The CF7 is a balanced, fully composite model. They both are capable of high level performance but they provide completely different feel.
Patrick
Is DeMarini releasing a 2016 Voodoo Overlord? Troy
A 2016 version of this 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be released by DeMarini at the end of this summer 2015.
Ben
I am stuck on which to choose CF7 or Voodoo Overlord for fall ball? dingerandstingers
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the DeMarini CF7 are both very high performing models. A big difference between the two will be swing weight. The Voodoo model will be more designed for power hitters due to the end loaded swing weight. The CF7 will feature a balanced swing weight which is preferred by contact/gap hitters.
John
Is this bat very or slightly end loaded? Dinger Dan
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be very end loaded.
Frankie
I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 160 pounds and I was wondering if the Voodoo Overlord FT BBCOR being very end-loaded will affect bat speed a lot or a little. Which bat tends to be better reviewed and performing, the Voodoo Overlord FT BBCOR or the Easton S2Z BBCOR? Dinger Dan
How much the end-loaded feel of the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would affect your bat speed would be dependent on your strength and bat speed currently so it would be different for every player. The Overlord reviews a bit better than the 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) but both are great options. The S2Z would be better balanced for a lighter swing weight if you are concerned about losing bat speed.
Patrick
Does this bat have a slight end load, or is it very top heavy? DMAC
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a slightly end loaded swing weight.
Jason
Will this bat perform better than the 2014 Voodoo OVERLORD? Will it hit well against fast pitching? Swag man OG
The main difference between the 2014 Voodoo OVERLORD and the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR (DXVDC) is the upgraded X12 Alloy barrel and the D-Fusion FT handle, which makes the bat a bit more stiff than previous Voodoo models. This bat has an end loaded feel to it, so if you can handle that weight against faster pitching, it would perform well.
Marcus
I am about 5'6" and weigh around 135 lbs. I'm going into my freshman year of high school and have to use -3 bats. I am more of a power hitter and prefer end loaded bats. Would the Voodoo OVERLORD be a good bat for me? Magic Mike
If you prefer to swing an end loaded bat, then the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR (DXVDC) would be the right bat for you. Given your height and weight, I'd go with a 31" 28 oz. bat.
Marcus
How long will this bat last before it loses pop? sfbball
There is no way to tell how long a bat like the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will last given the countless ways and conditions it can be used in. The bat comes with a 12 month warranty that covers any damage so it should last at least that long.
Patrick
I am considering this or the Mako. Do they swing similarly? Are they almost the same balance? vin
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has a heavier swing weight than the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) due to the Voodoo being end-loaded while the MAKO is balanced. They do not swing similarly at all. If you are more of a contact hitter, I would go with the MAKO. If you are stronger or more of a power hitter, you may benefit more from the Voodoo OVERLORD. Both are nice bats.
Patrick
I'm 14 years old and am transitioning into BBCOR bats. I liked the XL3 -5 because it was end loaded, Would this bat feel too heavy? Charlie
If you like end loaded bats, then you would probably like the feel of the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC. Since you're making a smaller jump from a -5 to a -3, you should be able to swing end loaded BBCOR bats just fine with some practice.
Marcus
I'm trying to decide between this or the Marucci CAT 6... which is better? Is it worth it to get this bat or just buy the new RAW? How long will this bat approximately last? g-dizzle
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614, & the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC are all excellent bats. There is no wrong choice. It all depends on what you're looking for. The Marucci CAT 6 is a one-piece alloy design while the RAW & the OVERLORD are both half and half. As far as the bat life goes, that will vary from case to case. Depending on how much and how often you use the bat will decide how long this bat approximately lasts. Additionally, The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR does come with a full twelve month manufacturer's warranty.
John
Would a two piece bat or a one piece bat be better for a power hitter? Im trying to decide between this bat or the velo end loaded. I have had most of my sucess swinging a one piece but every time I try to find my new bat I get sent to the voodoo and i just want to be sure i make the right decision! Thanks Colton Martinez
Typically, power hitter will prefer or be better suited with a one-piece bat that features an end-loaded swing weight. With that being said, the best bat for each player is the one they believe gives them the best chance of success. The end-loaded swing weight of the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would certainly be a good bat to consider if you are a power hitter as would the Rawlings VELO (this bat would be balanced though).
Cameron
I am deciding which bat to buy for my son, the OVERLORD or Raw? He loved the OVERLORD -5 last season, and is in high school and needs to go -3, looking at reviews some comments are the handle on the raw? Which bat do you think we should go with or better what is the difference b/w the OVERLORD and Raw? Luds66
The main differences between the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) are the connection point and barrel sweet spot/swing weight. The Raw features the D-Fusion 2.0 handle technology that will help reduce vibration from off-centered hits slightly better than the OVERLORD FT. As for the swing weight, the Voodoo RAW will feature a slightly more end-loaded feel than the Voodoo OVERLORD FT as the barrel on the RAW begins it taper later than the OVERLORD FT. Since both bats feature end-loaded swing weights as well as the same X12 alloy barrel, we would recommend going with the slightly more balanced Voodoo OVERLORD FT.
Cameron
How does this bat swing compared to the RAW and the 2014 Voodoo OVERLORD? hammer
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC are essentially the same bat except for the alloy material that was used. In the OVERLORD FT X12 alloy was used while the Voodoo OVERLORD had X10 alloy. The other components (connection piece technology, end cap, knob & swing weight - which is end-loaded) are the same. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will have an upgraded connection point technology (D-Fusion 2.0) that will help reduce vibration more than these two bats but the alloy will be X12 just like the OVERLORD FT.
Cameron
I am 5'11" and weigh 120 lbs. What size should I get in this bat? mason
Given your height and weight, I would recommend going with the 31" 28 oz. version of the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Marcus
I am looking for a bat for a heavy hitter (6'1 - 198 lbs). Is this is a good bat, if so what size do you recommend? Amie
Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC would be great for a stronger/power hitter. This is due to the slight end load at the end of the bat, which will create more power. As for a size recommendation, based on the height and weight of the player, we recommend swinging a 33" bat.
Nick
I'm 5'7" and 155lbs. What size should I get? tyler ruff
We would recommend a 32" for a player with your height and weight.
John
My son is 5'11" and 160 lbs. He is a late swinger with hand speed. I suggest a 31" 28 oz. What do you suggest? jay
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC. However, bat speed is the most important thing. If you feel that he is a late swinger then a 31" 28 oz would probably be a better option.
Jason
Which is more balanced? The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD or the Louisville Slugger Omaha? Which would you recommend for a 6'0, 175 lb, line drive hitter? Luke
The Louisville Slugger Omaha will be more balanced in comparison. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature a slightly end loaded swing weight. Typically, end loaded bats are going to be more geared towards a power hitter.
John P.
My son is 5'11" and 190 pounds and consistently hits warning track to center/left center as right handed bat with 33/30oz currently. Would this bat in 34/31 be a wise choice? el
I would recommend keeping him in a 33" 30 oz. for a player with his build. I feel like the 34" may be a little too much bat for him and could cause the bat to drag through the zone.
John
I am a 5'9 160 pounds, 16 years old, and I hit for contact and power. Is this a good choice? heavyhitter
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend a 32" model of a BBCOR .50 baseball bat for you. If you feel that you can handle the end-loaded 29 oz weight of the 32" option of this bat, I would recommend going after this option.
Ben
Which one of these lengths and weights is equal to a -3 or -5? William
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature a -3 length to weight ratio.
John P.
I am 6'0 and 160 lbs, and I hit about 50/50 power and contact. I prefer a bat with a really small amount of end-load, but not too much. Would this bat be good for me, or is there a better option? beast
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC. This particular model does feature a slightly end loaded swing weight but it will not be too much.
John P.
will swinging this bat with the end-load cause a significant difference in bat speed after swinging a bat from demarini's cf series? mr cool
Switching to the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) from the CF-Series you will notice slower bat speed. The CF-Series is very well balanced while the Voodoo has more weight in the barrel to help you drive the ball.
John
My 13 year old son is 5'6" and 120 lbs. Would he be better off with the 32" or 33" bat? Horsten
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model of the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Jason

John
I am 15 and I am a freshman. I currently use a 32 in. -3 bat. I am 140 lbs and I'm 5'6. Should I upgrade and get a 33 in. or just keep using my old bat? zach
For your height and weight we recommend using a 32" length bat.
Angelique
How similar is the end load feel to a 2013 Vexxum BBCOR? Does it have similar feeling weight? Jay
The DeMarini Vexxum features a balanced swing weight while the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features an end load. What this means is that the OVERLORD will have a portion of the weight directed towards the end of the barrel while the Vexxum will have it evenly distributed throughout.
John P.
Is this bat recognized by the NCAA and NFHS as a"legal Bat"? Jeff
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is approved for play in NCAA and NFHS.
John
Hey I'm a 15 year old player at 5'10", 175 lbs. I would consider myself a gap hitter. I am torn between this bat, the Prime 916, and the MAKO. I have hit with the MAKO before and really liked it. What would you recommend? tater
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend going with a model of BBCOR bat in the 33" length (as long as you can handle the 30 oz weight). All bats being considered are two piece bats and will feature flex at contact, but this OVERLORD will have alloy barrel where the other two bats have composite barrels. As well, this OVERLORD will have a slight end-load to its swing weight (other bats are balanced). When deciding between these bats you'll need to decide whether you want an alloy barrel or composite barrel and the feel you want in the bat (end-loaded or balanced).
Ben
I have a boy at 5'4", 102 lbs. He needs a -3 BBCOR model. Would you recommend this bat? matt
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend going with a smaller option of this DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) in the 31"/28 oz size. As long as you feel your player can handle the end-loaded 28 oz weight of the 31" option of this bat, then I would recommend that size option.
Ben
Is this the 2015 model? Culks
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is indeed a 2015 model.
John P.
How does this bat compare in pop and swing weight to the 2012-13 CF5? What size bat should a 6'1 180lb sophomore use if he prefers bats a little bit big and swings way too early on a 32" bro
Based on the player's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 34" bat. This would help fix the problem of being too quick with the 32" bat. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to be a little different than the CF5 that he is accustomed to. That bat is going to feature a two-piece, fully composite design with a really balanced swing weight. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. This bat is also going to feature a slight end load, which is preferred by power hitters. However, it is going to be a little bit different than the balanced swing weight that the player is used to with the CF5.
Nick

I'm debating on getting the DeMarini Voodoo Raw 2016 and the DeMarini CF8. jjp
The biggest difference you are going to see between the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) as well as the Voodoo Raw and the CF8 is going to be the fact that the Raw and Overlord are both end loaded and the CF8 is balanced.
Jake
My son has an Overlord FT. Is there a minimum temperature in order to use the bat or is it good to use when it's 40-50 degrees in early spring? Swick00
We don't recommend using any bat in weather under 60 degrees.

I'm about to get a new bat and I want to know if this bat is better the the 2016 DeMarini CF8? jaxon
This DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a great bat that has received excellent reviews from customers. As well, the CF8 has received great remarks. When making a decision between the two bats, you'll want to determine the build that you want the most. This OVERLORD will be a hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) with an end-loaded swing weight while the CF8 is an all-composite bat with a balanced swing weight. I would recommend going with the build that attracts you the most.
Ben
I'm a 5'10" and 175 pound freshman in high school with pretty quick hands, good power, and a strong top hand. I have kind of a grip it and rip it approach but I can hit for power or average. I am currently using the 2015 Rawlings 5150 and love alloy barrels. I tend to hit in the 2-3 to 5-6 hole and is usually a gap to gap guy that can hit some bombs too. Is this bat a good choice and what size? Also, I'm looking to use this throughout most of high school, so how does the durability look? Thanks! tater
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC. This particular model features an end loaded swing weight which is usually preferred by a power hitter. If you're looking for a bat with an alloy barrel, this bat does feature an alloy barrel with a composite handle. As far as durability goes, the Voodoo OVERLORD FT is very highly reviewed in the durability category. Based on your height and weight, I would recommend that you swing a 33" length. The biggest difference in these two bats is going to be the cosmetics. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature updated cosmetics. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature the updated D-Fusion 2.0 Handle Technology, which is said to help the reduce the vibration and redirect more energy into the ball. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will also feature the Low Pro End Cap, whereas the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features the ION-V End Cap.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
