Best DeMarini CF-Series Bat EVER. YankeesXV coach

Pros: Excellent feel and control, stiffer barrel than the CF6 and better pop -- ball jumps of the barrel. RCK knob is very comfortable. Very balanced bat, excellent bat speed, perfect for a line-drive hitter -- hits lasers all over the field and can launch balls over any fence.

Cons: Expensive, but we tried several of the 2015 bats from the biggest manufacturers, and in our opinion the CF7 is the best performance balanced bat for 2015 bar none.

Pros: just out of the rapper my 10 yr. old hit 1 over and about 16 1 hoppers to the fence and line drives every where out of 60 balls he loves this bat used the combat portent this season and this bat is far better, very balanced bat for power and line drives

Cons: too soon to tell if it will hold up that's all

2015 CF7 Love it!! Happy Dad!! parent

Pros: Hot looking bat!! My 10 year old son loves it. After watching my son swing his 2014 Make 28 inch I thought maybe his new 29 inch CF7 was going to be too big. I was wrong! It looks as though his bat speed has increased. I cant wait till we see his hitting coach next week to see the speed in which the ball comes off the bat. The SwingAway in our basement is getting a workout!!!!

Cons: Price

Great Pop, Great Balance Horrible Quality Josh Montero coach

Pros: Bat has an amazing swing weight, and feel. Great pop and amazing balance makes the bat feel much lighter than it actually is. On a scale of 1-10 the bat is an 11 in terms of performance. I love the bat and it's performance and so does my kid. As with any good bat the durability is compromised for the pop out of the wrapper.

Cons: My kid broke it in under 100 swings in 78 degree weather, and he is an average 10 year old (74lbs) and has an average swing. Have seen at least 6 other bats exact same model (2 3/4 inch barrel) break the exact same way just as quickly. Called Demarini and made them aware of the problem, and the girl acted like she had never heard of such a problem. The warranty only allows one return of the bat, and this scares me since the bat has problems.

Terrible Construction Chris B. parent

Pros: Looks good.

Cons: My son and one of the 12year olds on his team purchased the same CF 7, one month later they both cracked. The bat was always kept warm and never abused. DeMarini replaced it after we shipped it to them, no problem. You guessed it, less than a month later the replacement cracked. As you know or should know DeMarini gives you one replacement and then you they are done with you. So $350.00 later and no bat I am done with DeMarini, sorry guys you have produced a poor quality bat and should step up to the plate with a credit for such a pathetic product.

CF6 w/ New Paint Job Jason parent

Pros: Balanced.

Cons: Not anywhere close to the new CF7 -5 Model which is the only reason I bought the bat. That bat has a distinctive sound and the balls rocket off it. This bat is no different than the CF6, which was no different than the CF5. Just different paint jobs. And, not attractive paint jobs either. No style, no pop. Well, unless you count that $350 price tag. Demarini seems to goose certain models / weights of their bat, but it's all bait and switch. At least for our $700 we have one good bat. It could be worse.

very balanced bat Greg parent

Pros: I have twin 10 yr old boys who play u trip ball. We like this bat because of the balanced feel. They have used the mako. It is a good bat but feels end loaded. My boys r able to control this bat without losing bat speed thus the ball comes off of the bat alot harder.

Cons: have not had bat long so do not know about durability. other demarini bats seem to be very durable though.

fantastic bat! brittain player

Pros: tons of pop, very balanced for any type of hitter, the barrel feels great going thru the zone and balls fly off it. i saw the reviews say it cracks easy, but i have well above average strength and bat speed and no problems with any cracks

Cons: a little bit expensive and the break in period was a little longer than i wanted to be. expect to replace the grip after a few seasons.

Cracked in Five Months Coach B coach

Pros: We bought this bat at the end of summer 2015. It has loads of power and my son's slugging went way up in fall-ball and he loved the bat.

Cons: In February of 2016, during indoor winter workouts in a facility kept at 70 degrees the bat cracked on the sweetspot of the barrel. We sent it back and are waiting DeMarini to ship us a new one under warranty.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will this bat be available in a -5? My son loves his -8 CF6 Paradox, but needs to move to a -5. He loves DeMarini but does not like the Overlord. That is the only model I could find in -5. He does not like Marucci either. Kelly
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) is not made in a -5. DeMarini only makes the OVERLORD and the Vexxum in -5 models. If he likes the balanced swing weight of the CF6, then you might want to consider the 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVX5).
Jason
What is the big difference between the CF6 and the CF7 besides the graphics? a baseball player
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) has a new D-Fusion handle FT which helps maximize energy transfer and eliminates vibration.
Jason
Which is better for a power hitter the 2015 MAKO or the CF7? Vegas
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) and the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK9) are very similar by design and both are top of the line, high performing models. They both should work equally well for a power hitter style player. Preference between the two would come down to brand preference.
Patrick
Can this bat be used in cold weather? Q-Dog
It is not recommended to use composite models like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) in temperatures below 60 degrees. Lower temperatures will decrease performance and increase the potential of cracking.
John H
What do you guys prefer; the Easton Mako Torq or this bat? My son loves the Voodoo Overlord. What is the difference between the two? DDD
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) and the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK8T) are both nice options. They are both top of the line bats in their respective brands. The CF7 is a lighter swing weight and the TORQ has a more extended barrel and a modified handle to limit roll over and keep you shorter to the ball. Preference would come down to what you are looking for. Both the TORQ and the CF7 are extremely different from the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR). They are both balanced and the OVERLORD is end-loaded. The CF7 and the MAKO TORQ are two-piece all composite designs while the OVERLORD is a hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Patrick
Is there a difference in barrel length between the DXCFX and the DXCFZ? Are there any differences between the two other than barrel diameter? rprice
There is no difference in barrel length between the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat DXCFX and DXCFZ. The only difference will be the barrel diameter.
John
What weight do you think a 5 foot 6, 125 pound 12 year old should be swinging? His exit speed right now is typically 65-72 mph on average. Should we go with a -8 or -10? hp
Height and weight would be used more to determine the length of the bat because players of that same height and weight could vary in how strong they are. That being said, a 32 inch length is what we would recommend. Whether he would need a -10 like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) or a -8 like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFR) would be based more on what he has been using. The idea is to have them swinging the heaviest bat that they are comfortable swinging without sacrificing bat speed or form.
Patrick
For my school, I'm in 7 grade. We can't use all composite bats. I was wondering if this is an all composite bat? dante.t
Yes, the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) will be 100% composite in design.
Brandon
My son is 4 feet 8 inches and 67 pounds. What do you suggest? Sherman
Based on your son's height and weight, we would suggest a 29 inch bat in the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX).
Chinyere
I'm looking for a 31"-5 bat for my 13 year old son. Is there a bat (any brand) that is similar in feel to the CF series? Kevin
Unfortunately, the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) was not manufactured in a drop 5 length to weight ratio. The closest model in terms of swing weight, performance and feel would be the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP9155). The Prime features a three piece full composite design that for all practical purposes will perform like the two-piece CF7. Both bats do feature a balanced swing weight and will be very close in overall performance.
Joe
My son is 4 foot 9.5 and 74 pounds which bat would you suggest he uses Brad
Based on your son's height and weight, we would suggest a 30" bat. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) will have a drop -10.
Chinyere
My son is 4'5" and about 77 pounds. What size would you recommend for him? Big Daddy
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) in a 29" 19 oz. model.
Joe
Does this bat have a break in period? Awesome
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) has a composite barrel that will require a 150-200 swing break in period.
Tom
Our player is 14 years old, 5'7" and 105 lbs. What size would you recommend? Is this bat approved for Junior or Senior Little League play? bert
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) in a 30" model. However, full composite models are not legal for Little League play unless they are BBCOR certified, which means the bat you would need to look at would be the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) in a 30" 27 oz. size.
Joe
My son is 5'3" and 115 pounds. He's 13 years old. He wants a big barrel bat. What do you recommend? Lynn
Based on his height and weight, our Bat Coach recommends that he use a 31" 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX). This CF7 features a two-piece fully composite design as well as balanced swing weight, so this would be a great choice for a player who may hit for contact. The balanced swing weight makes it easier to work on bat speed and bat control.
Tessa
I have this bat and my friends were wondering if it had a composite or aluminium barrel? They think it sounds aluminium. Miggy24
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) is a two piece composite model.
Allison
What is the difference between the CF7 and the Voodoo Overlord FT? Mark
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) features a two-piece fully composite design as well as a balanced swing weight. Because of the balanced swing weight, it is generally preferred by contact hitters looking to work on bat speed and bat control. It will also require a break in due to the composite barrel. The Voodoo OVERLORD FT features a hybrid design, so it has an alloy barrel and composite handle. It also has an end loaded swing weight, which tends to be preferred by a power hitter, who may be on the stronger side and has faster bat speed. Like all alloy barrels, the Voodoo will be good to go right out of the wrapper, it will not require a break in.
Tessa
How long is the barrel on this bat? Johnny boy
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) has a barrel approximately 11"-11.5" in length.
John
my son is 4'8 and 100 lbs and is 9... power hitter used easton s3 31/21 2-3/4" barrel no problem swinging it... heard some demarini's are extremely hot... recommendations? size, barrel size, amd which bad for a power hitter which bat
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) would be a good option to consider. Typically, power hitters will prefer a one-piece bat (like the Easton S3) and the DeMarini options are going to be two-piece bats. With that said, the CF7 will feature a balanced feel (like the S3) and would be the best option to consider in the DeMarini line.
Cameron
My son is playing 11U baseball. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. He currently swings a 30 inch 20 ounce. What size CF7 do you recommend him using? Coach
Based on height and weight, we would recommend going with the same 30 inch 20 ounce size for the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) but you may be able to move up to a 31 inch 21 ounce if he is a bit stronger than when he was using the 30 inc 20 ounce previously.
Patrick
Is it BBCOR certified? baseball_player
No, the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) is not BBCOR certified.
John
Is it a 2 5/8" barrel? caleb
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX is going to feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
John P.
What is the difference between the DXCFX and the DXCFR? caleb
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX has a -10 length to weight ratio, where as the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFR has a -8 length to weight ratio. Other than that they are the exact same bat.
Angelique
My son is 13 years old, 5'2", and 135 pounds. Would a -10 or a -8 be better? JIM B
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 31" DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX. As far as whether he should use a -10 or a -8, it is hard for me to recommend a weight as that will vary from player to player depending upon their personal preference, hitting style, and strength.
John P.
my son is 5"8 and weighs 165 and in highschool ball , i have bought a Cf series bat before and i really liked it , i want to get him a new one , What should i do? Jake1
I would recommend that your son swing a 33" 30 oz. model based on his height and weight. If your son really likes the CF series of bats, then I recommend sticking with that particular model. We have the 2015 version of the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC in a 32" and 34" available. We have the 2016 DeMarini CF8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC models available in a 30" all the way up to a 34".
Nick
Hi - My son's bat last year was a 31 inch - 20 oz. bat - I was curious if the 32 inch 22 oz. bat would be good for this year - He gained 4 inches and is 5'4" - still only weights 95 pounds - is a contact hitter / line drives - swings all arms still.....Please advise goya
If your son swings the 31" 20 oz. bat pretty well with quick bat speed, then I think he could reasonably make the jump up to the 32" 22 oz. model. If his bat speed is slower with the 20 oz. bat, then I would not recommend making the jump up in weight. As for his swing, I think the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX would be a great option. The bat is a two-piece construction with a balanced swing weight, which benefits contact hitters.
Nick
Why is the price different between different sizes of the same model? Gary
The difference in prices between the various models that are left of the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX are due to supply and demand as well as the price certain sizes are sold for from the manufacturer to the retailers.
Cameron
My son is going to be playing in the Intermediate 50/70 Little League this year. We just purchased a DEMARINI CF7 WTDXCFX (-10) 2 5/8" SENIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL BAT. Is this bat going to be legal or do we have to purchase him another bat? Confused
Unfortunately, this bat will not be legal for use in the Intermediate (50/70) division of Little League baseball. This division requires composite barrel bats to be BBCOR, to be legal for use.
Nick
whats the diffrence between this one and cf6.is there a diffrent soumd pop ivan
They are going to be very similar in terms of performance and feel. The main difference between the two will be the D-Fusion handle that reduces vibration and re-directs energy back to the barrel to give it a larger sweet spot.
John
How long does it take to break-in the bat? jb
We recommend around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure that you rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch every 15 swings to fully break-in the composite fibers.
John
Can you use jugs dimpled balls with this bat? joe
We do not recommend using JUGS dimple balls with the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX or any other bat for that matter that you plan on using for game play. The reason for this is the JUGS dimple balls do not feature the same weight consistency as a regular baseball and can reduce the durability of the bat.
Cameron
Is it balanced or end loaded? Seba
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX will feature an extremely balanced swing weight.
John P.
How can you tell if the bat is dead? What should the bat sound like at contact? TB
Composite barrel bats like the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCFX will sound more like a wood bat so it can be a little trickier to know when a bat may or may not have lost its pop. First thing would be to analyze the barrel and make sure there are no visible large cracks. If there are no cracks then the only way to determine if the bat is dead is if you feel the ball is not responding off the bat the same as it did previously.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
