Get this bat ! it will make you a hero !!!!!! big kid dad parent

Pros: Where do I start. We got the 33/30 because i read somewhere that said if you can swing it, you should get it. The review said that all sizes had great power, but that the 33 was a beast. What an understatement ! I took the wrapper off and went to the basement and hit a ball off the tee with a nice easy swing and "POP" was the noise i was greeted with. The same noise you got for my sons -5 xl-1 last year when you hit the ball just right. Only difference was that for one, i barely swung, and two it wasnt clean. The sweet spot is absolutly the entire barrel ! Cant even imagine what it will be like when its broken in. Zero vibration, sick paint job, and the handle and knob are the most comfortable combo ive ever held on any bat. Cant believe im saying this but this bat is worth every penny of its $350 price tag. Hope this bat goes unnoticed so we dont have to worry about faceing it this season.

Cons: I guess that if i had to pick a con i would say price. $350 is alot to pay for a senior league bat, but like i said above its worth it in my opinion. I gave the reliability 4 stars only because its too early to judge, but every Demarini ive ever owned has been a study in quality.

Bombs All Day Long Kingme parent

Pros: My 13u son swung the CF7 31 inch 26 oz. for the first time in his MS game. First at bat he went yard over the center field fence. Next at bat hit a laser shot to left and his third at bat hit it off of the left field fence. This bat has incredible pop and a distinctive sound. First time I have seen kids from the opposing team asking what bat he was swinging as he went thru the handshake line. Also can't say enough about the RCK knob and d fusion handle.

Cons: Having to tell your teammates to put your bat down and to get their own CF7

XL1 -5 has met his maker Baseball Dad parent

Pros: Purchased for my son, to replace his 3rd broken XL1 -5. Picked this up a week after it had been release and haven't looked back. My son plays for 2 travel teams one Major and one AAA, so he sees plenty of time in the box. The XL1 -5 is still one of the best bats to swing if you are transitioning into High School. The CF7 -5 is almost identical in every which way as the XL1, with a few positive exceptions. What sets the CF7 -5 apart from the XL1 -5 is the positioning of the endload. The weight is slightly, maybe 1" to 1.5" inches, towards the knob. This may not seem like much, but it does make a difference in swing speed. Pop is amazing and pretty spot on with the XL1 -5. The CF7 is a launching pad, with pop to spare. The sound is very similar to the XL1 -5 as well, no ping like the -9 Mako CF7 (-10 & -8) or -8 XL1. It also has a deeper sounding wood bat like tone similar to the -5 Xl1 minus the weird vibration sound the XL1 tends to make from time to time. No vibration at the hands on

Cons: Son doesn't like the grip, but all the kids (including mine) change it to Lizard Skin anyway.

Performs as advertised Eloverich coach

Pros: Unbelievable pop, the ball jumps off this bat. Balance feels good, a little more weight in the barrel than last years Combat Portent SL-5. Son has only used this bat for one week but it held up well over a long weekend. Ball scuffs seem to wipe off the barrel keeping the finish looking good. Probably has 250+ swings on it and you can hardly see a scratch. The reviews on this bat are 100% accurate. Never been a DeMarini family however we are now!

Cons: None so far

Pros: i used this bat once in the cage because i saw my friend with a cool looking bat so of course i had to, and i was not disappointed. being a powerful pull hitter its hard for me to hit outside pitches but this bat allowed me to take those out side pitches out of the park. outstanding bat!

Wow. Chris player

Pros: Very impressive, Demarini! I'd usually expect Easton to produce such a high quality bat like this. The ball shoots off the bat with an incredible amount of pop even if you barely swing. I placed the ball 50 feet farther with this bat than my Easton Mako. This bat is not too heavy for 6th graders starting middle school ball since it's so balanced. I recommend this bat for anyone; power hitters or contact hitters.

Cons: Price was high, but it decreased

Great bat Scott coach

Pros: Balance. Pop, and handle. Great bat with great balance. Great for contact hitters but power guys will get great swing speed with this bat and just pound the ball. Probably one of the best -5 bats out there - swings and feels lighter than almost all other -5 bats.

Cons: Cost - but get what you pay for

Awesome Bat G parent

Pros: we purchased this bat in little league version last year, my son loved it all the way through state tournament. This year he chose this bat over the Cf8 just for the simple reason he had Faith in the bat. He absolutely loves the Pop, the no vibration. Great Bat. Dimarini really done their Homework with this bat.

This bat is Siiiiiiiiick!!!! proud dad parent

Pros: Well balanced, fast through the zone and unbelievable pop! Distinctive sound when the drop 5 model hits a ball. Sort of like hitting a golf ball with a glass bottle. Seriously, this bat will take the ball out of the park in a hurry! My son is 12 and has already hit 5 home runs since the start of our season in late January. He had is first multi dinger game just a week ago and loves this bat more than any other he has played with (including the CF 5, CF 6, Mako and Marucci Cat6). Buy this bat!! Incredible deal since its last year's model - I can't see how the CF8 would be any better.

Cons: Having to prove to the other team its not a shaved bat. Color scheme is kinda drab.

Dingers all day long T.Kuyk player

Pros: this bat is amazing out of the wrapper and launches balls even when they arent completely squared up i was a bottom of the order contact hitter , but when this season came around i noticed a huge difference , so did my coach i moved all the way up to cleanup in the first game , definitely a great purchase , better than the -5 xl 1 no doubt

Cons: the grip like dissolves after a couple of uses ive had it since christmas and used it in 6 tournaments and has cracked in multiple areas across the barrel still a great buy though

Wow! Just like the CF8 but cheaper John parent

Pros: Ton of pop! Balanced and easy to swing for 130lbs 12yr old. Was going to buy the CF8 but its the exact same thing as the CF7 when it comes to specs. Different color but who cares. We have 3 CF8's on the team and they are no better then the CF7. Bottom line both bats are great I would just save some coin and go with the 7. Longtime Easton buyer!

Amazing Pop P-Parent parent

Pros: I have always been a Easton guy until a parent purchased this bat for his son. My son used this bat on back to back games and loved it's pop. I purchased this bat about two weeks ago and have been doing lots of cage and open field hitting with my son since it arrived. I give this bat five stars across the board and look forward to purchase other DeMarini bats in the future.

Cons: Price when initially released.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this model better than the other CF7 models? Duv3
The whole CF7 line like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) will be made out of the same materials and have similar design characteristics. The differences would be the barrel diameter, length to weight ratio, and certifications for play. No one model would be technically better than the other. The idea would be to get the model that is right for your age, size and style of play.
Patrick
Is cold weather an issue with this bat? pete
We recommend that the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) or any other composite or alloy bat not be used in temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The materials that compose the baseballs will actually become more dense and are thus more likely to damage the bats in colder temperatures. If you play in colder temperatures, we would recommend using this bat only for game purposes and minimizing the exposure to the cold.
Joe
Is this bat end loaded? Bradly
No, the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) features a balanced swing weight.
Tessa
Is this bat more balanced than the Marucci Elite? Devo
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) and the 2015 Marucci Elite Limited Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBE5) will have similarly balanced feels.
Patrick
Is this bat be approved for Babe Ruth? Jose
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) would not be allowed because it is a composite material bat but is not BBCOR certified and has a larger barrel diameter.
Patrick
How would you compare this bat to Easton XL1 with how much pop the 2 bats have? Carsonator
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) is a two piece composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The Easton XL1 is also a two piece composite bat, but it features an end loaded swing weight. Both bats will have similar performance considering they are both have the 1.15 USSSA BPF Certification Stamp.
Tom
I am a 5'5" 145 lb 13u travel ball player. Is this bat right for me? Is the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD better for me? ben richardson
It really depends on what type of hitter you are to determine which option is better for you. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) has a balanced swing weight and is typically better for a contact hitter. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD has an end loaded swing weight and is typically better for a power hitter.
Jason
My son is now 12 and has been swinging the 2013 CF 5 32 inch -8 big barrel since it's release. He plays travel ball from March to November while baseball camps fill his summers. He is a 5 foot 9 185 pound contact power hitter. However, this season it appears the ball doesn't fly or pop as it once did. On his school team he swings a Mako 31 inch -3 BBCOR with confidence. He is DeMarini fan and I believe he should be in the CF7 DXCF5 33 inch until the Voodoo Overlord was recommended in a response for power hitters, and the CF7 for contact. Which would you suggest? A's Dad
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) could be used by contact and power hitters alike. The balanced design could be used by either style of hitter. The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVD5) is end-loaded which would, in general, only be used by a power hitter style player rather than being used by both. If he likes the feel of a composite bat like the CF5 or MAKO, I would go with the CF7.
Patrick
I am 5'11 143 lbs, and I don't know what bat to choose. I am looking at the -5 2015 XL1 or this CF7. Which bat has a better performance? greg z
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) and the Easton XL1 are equally good bats and one will not perform better than the other. It depends on what type of hitter you are to determine which option will work the best for you. The CF7 has a balanced swing weight and is typically better for a contact hitter. The XL1 has an end loaded swing weight and is typically better for a power hitter.
Jason
Is it discontinued or out of stock? I have seen it online but not on JustBats. Was there a problem with the -5 CF7? What is the -5 demarini available for purchase? The XL1 is just too end loaded. Hot but heavy. The BBCOR is lighter. 88
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCF5) has been discontinued from production because they have started making the newer 2016 CF8 model which will release soon. Since it got discontinued, we are unable to order more so when we ran out of inventory we sold out. There is nothing wrong with the bat. The 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVX5) would be another -5 model that would be balanced from DeMarini.
Patrick
Can this bat be used for 14U USSSA sanctioned play? Prez
Yes, the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 is certified to be used in 14U USSSA play.
Marcus
Are thier low quatinites left of the 31/26? john
We do not foresee the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 selling out anytime soon. With that said, as we get closer to February and baseball seasons beginning across the country we forecast that are stock level of this bat will begin to go down.
Cameron
I am 5'0" and 87 pounds. I haven't hit my growth spurt yet and I am capable of swinging a 31 but should I go to a 30? Steven
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5.
John P.
Is this bat legal for babe Ruth 13-14 Mike
Unfortunately, it would not be legal for Babe Ruth in that age group. Babe Ruth in the 13-15 age group requires composite bats to be BBCOR to be approved. The DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC would be the legal model of this bat.
Nick
Can this bat be used for babe Ruth 13-14 year old? Mike
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 would not be allowed for Babe Ruth baseball play as this bat is composite. According to league rules, all composite bats have to feature BBCOR certification (drop 3) to be eligible for use.
Cameron
Is it capable for play for USSSA baseball? Justin Holin
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 features the 1.15 BPF stamp as well as the USSSA certification. With that said, some leagues require composite barrel bats, such as the DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5, to be BBCOR certified (which this bat is not). Before purchasing/using, we would recommend checking with your local league's rules.
Cameron
Could this bat be used in juniors? person
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 will not be legal for play within the Junior divisions of Little League because it is composite and not BBCOR certified.
John P.
is the CF7 legal for Babe Ruth League? Dan
The DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCF5 features a 2 5/8" composite design and it is not legal for play in Babe Ruth because it does not feature the BBCOR certification. Babe Ruth requires all composite barrel bats in the 13-15 and 16-18 division to be BBCOR certified.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
