Exceeds expectations! Scott parent

Pros: My son just received a new 2015 Techzilla. He has immediately taken to it and it is now his #1 bat. Coming from planet composite, I didn't know what to expect. Certainly not power on both sides of the plate - he's a switch hitter. In the past, he'd have a right side and a left side bat. After three practice sessions, looks like this is the year of one bat. While he is only ten years old, we both hope there is a future Techzilla for his Senior League and BBCOR years. Thanks for a fantastic bat that exceeds it's online reputation. As a bonus, it looks sharp and sounds mean. Scott

New look,More Pop! DeerCreekReb parent

Pros: Started the year like most baseball parents, looking for "The" bat. With so many kids in our area playing park and travel ball, league allowed 2 5/8 big barrel bats this year. I was dead set on buying the new Anderson Flex. After conversations with Justbats and Anderson Bat Co and they found out we were owners of the green Techzilla, they said if you like that 1,you'll love the new TZ 2.0. My son is 8 with a good swing n fast hands for his age.We just left batting session, the bat absolutly amazed us! Bigger sweet spot n more pop than we ever expected from a 2 1/4 barrel bat. The ball just flys off the bat, would hate to be a infielder on those single hits and the line drives turn into bombs! Anderson done good with this 1!

Cons: None!

My son's new favorite bat! LarryG parent

Pros: great bat, very well balanced for an "end loaded" bat, excellent POP, wicked sound... My son hasn't touched his Easton bats since getting this drop 9 beast! The barrel more closely resembles his wood "training" bats which he says makes for an easy transition from practice to game time.

Cons: none.

Not the Anderson you remember... Mike parent

Pros: Like the color combination

Cons: Son just switched from Easton Mako (outgrew it) to the new Techzilla. Could not be more bummed by decision...bats sweet spot is seemingly the size of a quarter. Son is complaining of vibration on balls that appears to be solidly hit...on balls that are not hit solidly not only is he complaining about the vibration but you can literally hear reverberation. First time I heard it I thought that the bat must be cracked. Velocity off the bat is noticeably lower then it was off Mako. Sons first $$$ bat was the Nanotek and he loved it, outgrew it during Anderson's shut down and went to the Mako - which he had been very happy with - but he was excited about Anderson coming back which was the only reason we switched back....sadly this bat is not even close to the old Anderson....just a quality name on a subpar product. AVOID this thing at all costs, I have the feeling you will be able to buy them at the local Wal Mart sooner rather then later.

Had high hopes!! hellsredsled coach

Pros: Great looks!

Cons: a lot of the stuff in the other posters post. sounds like a big rattle. im guessing its the double walls colliding on contact. It sounds like a defect! Bad vibration on mis-hits, vibration on good hits. Doesn't have more pop than the major composite bats out there on the market. I had high hopes for this company coming back and putting out another superior product but it appears that was not accomplished. If you take a close look at the graphics on the bat you will notice they are misaligned. The other big bat companies don't have quality control issues such as this.

Techzilla 2.0 Josh Bulski player

Pros: The sweet spot is very good on this bat. The bat almost has no vibration when you get the sweet spot.

Cons: If it is more towards the handle the bat has a little jam to it.

Hot Bat! Jason parent

Pros: Bat has insane pop! My son is 10 and figured he can handle a -9 bat and boy did he! No joke, I had him take BP with this bat and compared it to the mako and demarini and there is a difference in performance with the TZ 2.0. It was really cool to see that the only other bat the kids from the Little League World Series were using other than Easton was the Anderson Techzilla. Big fan of this bat. My boy loves it!

Cons: Might be a bit heavy for younger boys. I would say kids 10-13 years old should be able to handle this bat and maybe some bigger nine year old kids as well.

Techzilla Review Bat Man! parent

Pros: This is a nice bat. Like many others I researched many bats. I have found that the Techzilla hits a ball harder and further than any other bat I have seen in the ball park. Some of the kids that tried it didn't like it because of the feel (Little Heavier than other bats, balanced bat) however they did hit the ball further with it. My son could hit homeruns with this bat, could only hit the fence with the Easton and then the Louisville Slugger I thought was going to be "The Bat". This 2015 is great, however, I think the Green Techzilla was even better. Plus it American Made! Would highly recommend.

Cons: Scratches and dents easily. Other players will want to try out your bat!

Wow Coach Dave coach

Pros: My son is 11 yrs old and very good contact hitter with good power. Last season between travel ball and rec ball he hit just over 600 . Hits to both side's of the field very well . He started this season using the all famous orange bat. I will say the orange bat is a good bat can't deny that . He hit a lot of hard line drives and some deep 180 ft shots . But then the new Anderson arrived to our door. Talk about a game changer 4 outings with this bad and 3 dingers. I'm guessing a extra 20 ft out of this bat versus the orange bat. It's funny how quick the rest of the boy's on his team put down their orange bats . I'm seeing the same little extra pop out of most of the boy's using the Anderson. There's a lot of upset parents because their boy's are hanging up the so called great orange bat..

Cons: Haven't ran into anything yet

Strong and Tons of Pop Jim J parent

Pros: This bat is very durable and has a ton of pop. My son has broken 2 bats in 5 weeks so I got him this bat. I won't say its unbreakable, but it's damn strong.

Cons: Wish it came with Lizardskin pre-installed

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat: YB15TZILLA? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Do you know if the Anderson bats are true to their advertised weight? I know many manufacturers bats are off by as many as 2 ounces but some are essentially spot-on. jonnyballgame
Most manufacturers and the industry overall have an accepted variance in the actual weight of the finished product given that most bats, such as the 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) will be weighed and measured before the final stages of the manufacturing process. This is often done before things like grip tape, graphics, and sometimes even the end cap are added which can add to the weight. For example; even adding the knob jewel that lists the length and weight of most bats can adjust the weight making what is listed slightly incorrect. The idea is that a 30 inch 21 ounce Techzilla, for instance, is going to feel similar to another 30 inch 21 ounce bat rather than actually weigh exactly 21 ounces.

I just purchased my son the 2014 Techzilla. Will the new 2015 model have a longer sweet spot? The bat has some awesome pop, just not a very long barrel compared to the Easton bats. Gary
Yes, the 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) will feature a larger more forgiving sweet spot compared to the previous year's models.
Brandon
My son used the 2013 XL1 29/19 last year as an 8 year old. He had the strength and bat speed and did well with it. He's playing in the same division this year. Should he be able to handle the 29/20? Is the Techzilla end loaded similarly as the XL1? Is the performance similar between this and the new Mako XL? PatW
Yes, the 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) will have a similar stiff feel like the Easton XL1. It probably won't feel as end loaded but similar. He should be able to handle the 29/20. Just make sure his bat speed isn't suffering or slowing down too much. The new MAKO XL will be a two-piece composite design like the XL1 is. The composite is slightly better and the bat will swing more balanced compared to the XL1. All three bats we've discussed are very high performing and would be great for him!
Brandon
Aside from the length-to-weight ratio difference, how does this bat compare to the Easton XL3? Tony
This 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) will be designed with an all-alloy build that will feel more balanced when compared to the 2015 XL3 Youth Baseball bat. The XL3 has an all-alloy build as well, but it is made with more of an end-loaded swing weight.
Ben
Does the Anderson Techzilla 2.0 have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp? herb
Yes, the 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat: YB15TZILLA does feature the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp.
Marcus
What has more pop, the Techzilla or the new Combat-10 Maxum? johncena
"Pop" is more of a term that is associated with the skill of the player rather than a measurable feature of the bat. Due to performance restrictions imposed for safety reasons, most bats within the same certification category will perform to the same level at their peak. The difference, and what you end up paying for, is the feel of the bat (balanced vs. end-loaded, one-piece vs two-piece, barrel size, etc.) and the durability of the bat (how long the bat will perform at that peak level). Which one is best would depend on what you are looking for in those aspects compared to the price range you are looking to stay in. The 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) weighs more so it has more power potential but that also makes it tougher to swing. The 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Youth Baseball Bat (MAXYB110) is more balanced and lighter for a faster swing.
Patrick
What is the difference between the Anderson Techzilla 2.0 (-9) and the Techzilla XP -9? Mel
There is an upgraded alloy on the 2015 Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) compared to the Anderson TechZilla XP Youth Baseball Bat (KTXP) for better durability for longer lasting performance.
Patrick
Will it mess the bat up if you put lizard skin grip on it? bob
No, putting the Lizard Skin Grip on the Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat: YB15TZILLA will not affect the performance of the bat.
Nick
Is it printed approved for "Pony" league on this bat? Big J
The Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat: YB15TZILLA should have the "Pony" league approval on it.
Cameron
Do you have any first hand experience with the improved durability of the TZ 2.0 as compared to the XP? John
After comparing the specifications of this Anderson Techzilla 2.0 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15TZILLA) to the prior model of the Anderson TechZilla XP Youth Baseball Bat (KTXP), it does not appear that extra measures were taken to improve the durability on the YB15TZILLA. For the most part, the bats look to be mostly the same bat with an updated cosmetic look on the YB15TZILLA.
Ben

Did you guys ever have any issues with strange sounds coming off this bat when balls were hit? Did you have any complaints about the bat breaking in any way? We purchased one last year, and it makes strange vibration sounds when you hit it on the ground. It might just be the nature of the bat, but I want to make sure. I doesn't seem broken, nor does it seem likely that there is anything to break.... it is aluminum. GK
We have not heard of any issues like this, no. As long as there are no performance issues, then it sounds like nothing is wrong with the bat. Sometimes aluminum/alloy bats can ping different when tapped on the ground since you sometimes a random vibration pattern can cause different sounds.

About the Brand

A High-Tech Engineer, a Sales Manager for a chemical company, and a Professional Yacht Racer with a background in mechanical engineering are not likely to have much in common. But they did, and still do. You guessed it…SOFTBALL.

Our passion for “Diamond” sports goes back many years, but it was about 10 years ago that we started manufacturing and private labeling our bats for other companies. In 1999, Steven Anderson designed a new multi-wall high-performance bat that featured our patented “Power Arch” technology. After thorough testing, it was ready for the company that we designed it for, but they were going through a transition period and were not ready to move on it.

Here was the bummer, our team was counting on using these bats in a big tournament that was just a month away and we could not put their graphics on the bats until the deal between the two of us was inked.

Steven offered a solution … they are already certified by the governing bodies so why don’t we put our own graphics on them and use them in the tourney. What a great idea and that is exactly what we did.

I was driving to the plant the next morning wearing my championship “T” shirt and had no idea that when I arrived at 6:30 am that the message machine would be filled and the phones would be ringing. The messages and the calls were all basically the same … “How do I get my hands on one of those new Anderson Techwraps”?

That is how it started, and since then we have released the FlexTech, FastTech, RocketTech, TechZilla, Pyrotech, and we are not done.

Let me tell you a little secret……THE BEST IS YET TO COME…GO DEEP, GO VERY VERY DEEP
