The Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BBVELO) is probably one of the most balanced models. However, as a contact-hitter, I would probably suggest a two-piece structure. This will allow you to have a little bit more flex as you swing through the zone. Both models will be balanced, and will both be high performing.

Unfortunately, the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: (B1403A) is being discontinued. Therefore, we will not be receiving anymore of the 32" model back in our inventory. However, RIP-IT will be releasing some new models around the beginning of August.

The 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403E) features a two-piece hybrid design, so it features an alloy barrel and a composite handle. Both models will feature the same R2 Alloy barrel and have a balanced swing weight.

Since the MAKO features an extended barrel, that would be the model that may feel slightly different from the the Easton S1 and the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A), however, they are all still very balanced options to choose from. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.

The would be a fantastic choice for a player who can hit for contact and power. The balanced swing weight is a good for contact hitting, so you can work on bat speed and bat control. The one-piece design (often preferred by power hitters) will provide a stiffer feel on contact.Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.

The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) will flex less than the RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403E) which will give it better control over the direction the barrel is going.

The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) both feature a one piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The performance of these two bats will be very similar. The RIP-IT does come with a 30 day trial period, so if you are torn between the two, I would try the RIP-IT model first.

Both the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) and the 2015 model should actually feel the same during the swing weight. The RIP-IT Prototype will have a more barrel heavy feel to it.

For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) in a 31" 28 oz. model. We don't currently have that size in stock for the 2014 model, so you could consider the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) or the two-piece 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) as well.

The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is BBCOR certified which would make it legal for Little League play in the Juniors division.

The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is last years model and is no longer being made by RIP-IT. Unfortunately, because of that we are no longer able to get anymore of these bats. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat(B1503A) is the newer version of the bat and would be a better option to get the size you want.

My son is in high school and has used a 33/30 for 3 years. He is average size but has no problem with the bat (Rawlings 5150). Since you only have a 33.5/30.5 left in the Rip It Air, I am wondering if it would be very noticeable to him. Baseballdad17
The half inch/half oz difference will not be a huge difference, however the Air does have a slightly different feel than the 5150. The Rip-It models do come with a 30 day trial period, where he can actually try the bat out, so I would recommend taking advantage of that.
