Description

Last season, a revolution was born when RIP-IT introduced their AIR Technology to BBCOR bats. That revolution was built on SPEED, BALANCE, and POWER. Now, RIP-IT has further perfected this design. Made from R2 Alloy, the one-piece BBCOR AIR features RIP-IT's Rifle Barrel Technology. This technological advancement removes weight from the barrel without reducing the overall wall thickness of the bat - keeping durability intact. This is achieved by cutting precise grooves inside the barrel, resulting in dramatically lower M.O.I. nd increasing bat speed. The BBCOR AIR also features an Acoustic Barrel design that channels and amplifies specific performance frequencies to give players a beautiful "ping" sound when good contact is made. Down towards the handle you'll find a Contact Grip that is designed for incredible vibration reduction and extreme durability. RIP-IT is so confident that you'll love this bat, they're offering a 30 Day Love It or Return It performance guarantee. If you don't love your new BBCOR AIR, simply send it back to RIP-IT within 30 days for a full refund. You've got nothing to lose. RIP-IT: Speed Matters! This bat is BBCOR Certfied and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Very balanced and surprising pop for a BBCOR bat. Ball comes off the bat well even when not hit in the sweet spot. My teammates were surprised it was BBCOR. Hits, sounds and feels like old BESR bats.

Number 1 or 2 best Rip-It bat. UCF Bound 2014! player

Pros: I got to try this bat at a demo day in Orlando and this was my second favorite bat of the ones I tried (I liked the two piece Rip-It slightly better). One of the best features of this bat is it was the fastest single piece bat I tried. The extra bat speed helped with with more power and the balance helped with better bat control. If you are a power hitter with good bat speed and strength to start, you may find this bat to be just as good as the two piece Rip-It. Overall solid bat with great performance.

Cons: Only hit two rounds in the cage with this bat and had no problems. The demo bat did look pretty well used because the grip was no longer white.

RIP-IT Bats Andrew Bennett coach

Pros: This is a great bat for hitters of all ages. We've had tremendous success with our college hitters who swing RIP-IT and they consistently give us great feedback about every RIP-IT bat we use. As a college hitting coach, I feel great about the level of production we'll get out of our offense with RIP-IT.

Cons: It can be tough to convince a hitter to make the switch if he's comfortable with a different brand, but we've found that the guys who give RIP-IT a shot usually don't go back to swinging their previous bat.

RIP-IT Austin Bowden - Elgin High School (OH) player

Pros: After swinging the RIP-IT BBCOR Air that coach had purchased, I decided to buy one. Had the opportunity to swing other brands as well, but found this to have everything that I was looking for. Love the new half sizes, which has allowed me to bring a little more bat speed than I was producing with a 33/30. Looking forward to a full Spring season with the new BBCOR Air.

Great all around bat! Brendon player

Pros: Amazing for a contact batter like myself. There's great pop so even when I do swing for a base hit, the ball goes pretty far. With that being said it also has great power within it. Its a great bat for any player who is in need of one.

Cons: When it doesn't hit the sweet spot, it tends to sting a lot more than my previous bats.

Great bat... till the cap came off Aptos player

Pros: -great pop, balance, feel, love the grip

Cons: CAP IS GARBAGE. first one broke within 4 months, thought it was a freak accident so I sent it back. New one came in and the cap was already uneven and put on poorly. Only took 2 months for the cap to start to separate and the bat lost all pop, started to sound like a broken wooden bat and I couldn't hit the ball hard. First at bat with a new bat hit a double in the gap. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK

Pros: I like this bat because it fits my style of hitting. I'm a 6 2" 220 lb first baseman in tenth grade and this bat has just as much pop as any thing your going to find. I hit a ball last night off the fence at a 360 foot left field and I am a lefty....

Cons: i hated the skinny grip so i switched it and now its perfect. I would suggest taking about a hundred swings with it with real baseballs to brake the bat in.

Best BBCOR I have Swung Casey player

Pros: I have owned the BBcor easton omen and the 2014 rawlings velo and i have used every model of the 5150 and easton s1 this bat is the best i have swung out of all of them. i used this bat for the first time yesterday at the cages with real balls and i could not find anything i didn't like about it yet the paint on it isn't to flashy but it still looks good and the ball marks rubbed off easily. the most impressive thing about the bat was the grip it has plenty of cushion and i didnt need my batting gloves.

Cons: Still felt a little vibration but that is to be expected of a 1 piece i can tell the grip will get dirty but that doesn't bother me

Major Durability Issues Steve C coach

Pros: Feels very good. Swings easily. Weighted well. Made in the USA.

Cons: After about a month, it sounded like something was rattling around inside of the bat. Then the cap came off. It was cracked and broken. No reason for this to have happened. In 30 years of coaching baseball, I never saw that happen before. Very disappointed. This seems to be a recurring issue with this bat. Don't buy until the company figures out how to correct this issue.

How would you compare this bat to the 2014 BBCOR DeMarini Voodoo Paradox? H
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR: B1403A Adult bat is a very balanced, one-piece alloy while the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo is a slightly end loaded, two-piece hybrid. The Voodoo still has more flex during the swing; even with the stiffer Paradox composite. Typically contact hitters utilize balanced bats more efficiently and power hitters benefit more from an end loaded model. To decide which bat is right for you, I pick the model that is most similar to the bats you've used successfully in the past.

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) would be a great option. It features a balanced swing weight, which is great for contact hitters. The one-piece alloy design also provides a stiffer feel, which power hitters also like.
Tessa L.
My son is 5'8"; 180 lbs. Last season he was swinging a DeMarini Voodoo, 32", -5. He is currently swinging a 32", -3 wood in winter workouts. He liked the feel of the Louisville Slugger Attack -3 (2013) that he tried at a bat show before the 2014 Attacks were out. Which RIP-IT bat would feel most like the Attack and be a good transition from the DeMarini -5 that he used last season? Also, is the 32", -3 the appropriate bat length and weight for his size? JB1625
Yes, a 32" 29 oz. or even the 31" 28 oz. would be perfect for his size. The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR: B1403A Adult would feel very light and balanced like the Attack he swung. Although, no RIP-IT bats will feature any composite barrels like the Attack does. Another great RIP-IT model would be the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite BBCOR.
Brandon

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) features a balanced swing weight, typically preferred by contact hitters. The one-piece alloy design will provide a stiffer feel when the ball makes contact with the barrel, which power hitters tend to love. This would be a great bat for you.
Tessa L.
What is the difference between this and the Air Elite? AJ
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) Adult is a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The Air Elite is a two-piece hybrid design with balanced swing weight. The RIP-IT AIR Elite has an R2 alloy barrel and R2 composite handle.
Jason
Is there any difference in the performance when comparing the AIR and AIR Elite? Which is better suited for a power hitter? Oliver M.
Yes, the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A Adult) will be the one-piece design and the AIR Elite will have the two-piece design. The feel between these two will be slightly different during contact. For a power hitter, I would highly recommend the AIR Elite. The R2 composite is fairly stiff and tends to be favored by power hitters.
Justin R.
Which bat would be better for me. I'm a contact and power hitter. The 2014 Rawlings VELO? Or the 2014 RIP-IT Air I want the bat to be balanced. David
The 2014 Rawlings 5150 VELO BBCOR: (BBV3) is going to have an air balanced swing weight for faster bat speed and more control. This particular model would work very well for a contact hitter, and it will be extremely balanced. The R2 alloy used in its composition is also very powerful and you will see a lot of pop off this bat. The 2014 Rawlings 5150 VELO BBCOR: BBV3 is also going to be a one piece alloy balanced bat. It uses precision optimized performance technology that will also be very suitable for a contact gap hitter.
Merritt
Which of these two bats, the Air and the Air Elite) is most like the Rawlings 5150? I am looking for a replacement but also for something a little better balance wise. CollegeKid
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) Adult is most like the Rawlings 5150. The Air is a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight.
Jason
On the return policy, can you hit with it and return it if you didn't like it? dbaseball
The 30-day "Love It or Return It" policy does cover bats that have been used. Outside of that initial thirty days, any returns would be based on a warranty replacement basis.
Patrick
Which Rip-It Prototype Air is better between the 2013 or the 2014 model or the Elite? BigHitNick
All three bats are quality products. The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) features an upgraded "R2 Alloy" that is slightly more durable than the R1 alloy used on the 2013 "Prototype." The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) features the R2 alloy in the barrel but is a hybrid design that features a composite handle. This two-piece design can help reduce sting and vibration to the hands and can create increased bat head speeds due to it's flew through the zone. The stiffer RIP-IT AIR single piece would be more desirable for a power hitter.
Patrick
How would this bat compare to the 2014 Easton XL3 BBCOR and the Anderson Ignite BBCOR? ClayMcD15
All three of these models are one-piece alloy designs, but the XL3 features the longest barrel/sweet spot. That extended barrel design gives the XL1 a slightly end loaded swing weight which is generally better for a power hitter. The Anderson Ignite and 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) Adult are much more balanced and allow you to achieve higher swing speeds. If you're interested in the RIP-IT AIR, you can try it risk-free with their 30 Day "Love It or Return It" Guarantee.
Mac
I'm 5'7 and 110 pounds and I'm a contact hitter should I get this bat or the Prototype? Also what are the main differences? Justin
For a contact hitter, such as yourself, I would recommend the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) due to its very balanced swing weight. The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) features a slightly end loaded swing weight, which is geared towards power hitters.
Bobby
How does the Rip-It Air compare to the Easton Mako? Amac
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) are tough to compare because they are completely different by design. The AIR is a one-piece alloy design that has a stiffer flex and an alloy barrel. The MAKO is a two-piece composite design that has more flex to it. Both bats are great options and top of the line in their respective design categories.
Patrick
My son is 17 yrs old and 6'1" 208 lbs. He is looking at the 2014 5150 VELO to replace last year's model, but the RIP-IT and Easton MAKO look like good bats as well. He's a line drive hitter and plays wood bat summer and fall. Also wondering if he should move from 33" to 34". Baseball mom
If your son likes the feel of the Rawlings VELO, the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is very similar in feel and performance. The Easton MAKO is also very high performing. It will have more flex than the VELO or the RIP-IT. We recommend a 34" for his height and weight.
Kara
I am 5' 6" and 125 lbs. What size would you recommend? JD
We would suggest a 31 inch 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) based on your height and weight.

Patrick
I was wondering about buying this bat or the 2014 VELO. Which one do you recommend? I'm about 5' 10" 216 lbs. I bat third and I'm usually a line drive hitter. Which one is best for me? MauerPower
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 VELO are very balanced, high quality aluminum bats. Really, you cannot go wrong with either one, there isn't one that is definitively better. However, RIP-IT does have an awesome 30 day guarantee that allows you to try out the model and send it back for a full refund if you don't love it.
Justin R.
I was thinking about either getting this Rip-It Air or an Easton s1. I am more of a contact hitter. Which bat should i get? Tim
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) will be a one-piece design which is typically preferred by power hitters. The Easton S1 will be a two-piece design which will give a contact hitter more trampoline effect off the barrel. So I would recommend the Easton S1 if you are a contact hitter.
Kelby
My son will be 12 at the end of this month. He is about 5 ft (my guess)and weighs about 118 lbs. He is really strong (usually hits 3-5 in the lineup). What bat would you suggest? ct
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is a great choice for a power hitter. The one-piece, balanced design is ideal for a batter that hits 3rd to 5th in the line up.
Kara
For a power hitter should I get the Rip-It AIR or the Rip-It AIR Elite? Gabe
Both the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) would be nice options. The stiff design of the B1403A would be a bit more preferred by a power hitter but both are nice options.
Patrick
I am looking at this bat and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD. I am more of a power hitter and I currently have this bat in the 2013 model and i love it. What would be the better choice and why? Zach
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight and is good for any type of hitter. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD has an end loaded swing weight and is more ideal for power hitters.
Jason
Which bat is better the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR or RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite? I'm more of a contact hitter. Which bat is better for me? apairman
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) both use the same quality R2 alloy in the barrel. The two-piece design of the Elite is designed for a contact hitter. Both bats are very balanced and high performing.
Kara
Which bat has thicker barrel walls? The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR made of R2 alloy, or the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR made of R1 alloy? JW
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) will feature the same barrel wall thickness as the Prototype BBCOR. The AIR will feel more balanced. The Prototype will have a slight end load.
Brandon
What is the difference between this model and the AIR Elite? mitch4
The difference between 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is going to be a one-piece all alloy design. The 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite will be a two-piece design. The AIR Elite will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle.
John
My son is 14 years old, 5'10", 142 lbs. and is a power hitter. He currently has the Easton XL2 32" 29 oz. and a Marucci 32" 27 oz. . He likes one-piece balanced bats with large sweet spots similar to the Combat B1. My question is, should I get the 32.5" 29.5 oz. or the 33" 30 oz. RIP-IT BBCOR AIR: B1403A? James
Since he is using an end loaded bat, we recommend moving up to a balanced, 33" 30 oz. 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A).
Kara
I am 5'7" and 133 lbs. I am a contact hitter but am looking for a bit more power. Which bat would be better, the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR, or the RIP-IT AIR Elite! nitch
The one-piece design of the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is ideal for a contact hitter looking for more power.
Kara

Both the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) are well balanced to allow faster swing speed.
Damon

Brandon
What is the difference between the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR and the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR? I'm more of a power hitter. Which bat would be best for me? Mavs1034
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) is very balanced while the Prototype BBCOR (B1403) model features a slight end load. Typically, power hitters will use an end loaded bat more efficiently, but it really depends on what you feel most comfortable using.
Mac
I am 6' tall 155 lbs. I am looking for a bat that has a lot of pop and is light. Would this be a good bat for me? josh625
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) has is light swinging and has tons of pop. The balanced swing weight and one-piece design give it a light swing weight and stiff feel. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model.
Jason
Which bat has more pop the Rip-It air or the Rip-It air elite? Tucson kid
Both the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) and the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) use the same R2 alloy in the barrel, so "pop" should be the same. The RIP-IT Air Elite will have the advantage of being a two-piece bat and cutting down on vibration.
Damon
Which one of these is better for a power hitter, the RIP-IT AIR, or the EXOGRID 3? LH
Based on your playing style, I would probably recommend 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR: (B1403A) the one-piece alloy design will make this bat perfect for power players. The R2 Alloy that is used in its construction will also produce a very powerful performance.
Merritt

The 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is very similar to the Rawlings 5150 and the Louisville Slugger 515. All three models feature a balanced swing weight as well as a one-piece alloy design. All three are very suitable for a contact gap hitter looking to work on bat speed and control.
Tessa
Is the VELO or the Marucci Black more balanced for a contact-hitter? tann
The Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BBVELO) is probably one of the most balanced models. However, as a contact-hitter, I would probably suggest a two-piece structure. This will allow you to have a little bit more flex as you swing through the zone. Both models will be balanced, and will both be high performing.
Merritt
Does this bat come in 32" 29 oz. model? big cheese
The 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) was produced in the 32" 29 oz. model, but we do not have that size currently in stock.

The 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403E) features a two-piece hybrid design, so it features an alloy barrel and a composite handle. Which bat is the most balanced: this bat, the 2014 Easton MAKO, or the 2014 Easton S1. Also, which size bat would you recommend for a player who is about 5'10" and about 120 pounds? baseball questionier
All three models will feature about the same balanced swing weight. Since the MAKO features an extended barrel, that would be the model that may feel slightly different from the the Easton S1 and the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A), however, they are all still very balanced options to choose from. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Tessa
I am 5'7" and weigh 160 lbs. I am a contact hitter. Which bat would be better for me, the VOODOO Paradox or RIP-IT AIR? ray
The VOODOO Paradox may feel more barrel heavy, due to its extended barrel length. The 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) will feel more balanced and get you better bat speeds. It would most likely suit your swing better for your body type.
Brandon
I'm a power/contact hitter. Out of all of the bats out there, what kind of bat would perform the best power, bat speed, and balance for a BBCOR? Rob
The would be a fantastic choice for a player who can hit for contact and power. The balanced swing weight is a good for contact hitting, so you can work on bat speed and bat control. The one-piece design (often preferred by power hitters) will provide a stiffer feel on contact.Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.

I was wondering which bat has better barrel control the Rip It Air or Rip It Air Elite? Does the Rip It Air Elite have more control because of the two-piece bat design or does the Rip It Air one-piece bat have more barrel control? J Red
The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) will flex less than the RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403E) which will give it better control over the direction the barrel is going.

is this a good bat for contact and power hitters if not what bats are jrod
No need to look further! The balanced swing weight produced from the one-piece, all-R2 Alloy design will make the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) an excellent choice of bat for both contact and power hitters alike depending upon a specific player's preference!

Which bat is better for a gap to power hitter: the RIP-IT Air or the Rawlings VELO? josh
The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) both feature a one piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The performance of these two bats will be very similar. The RIP-IT does come with a 30 day trial period, so if you are torn between the two, I would try the RIP-IT model first.

Does this bat or the RIP-IT AIR 2015 have a heavier feel? jrod
Both the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) and the 2015 model should actually feel the same during the swing weight. The RIP-IT Prototype will have a more barrel heavy feel to it.

My son is looking for a good gap hitting bat. He is 5'8" and 130 lbs. Mj
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) in a 31" 28 oz. model. We don't currently have that size in stock for the 2014 model, so you could consider the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) or the two-piece 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) as well.

Can you use this bat in Little League Juniors? jld
The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is BBCOR certified which would make it legal for Little League play in the Juniors division.
Patrick
I noticed that all all you had was a 33.5" 30.5 oz. Will you get any more of the 32" 29 oz bats? homerunhitter14
The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is last years model and is no longer being made by RIP-IT. Unfortunately, because of that we are no longer able to get anymore of these bats. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat(B1503A) is the newer version of the bat and would be a better option to get the size you want.
Jason
My son is in high school and has used a 33/30 for 3 years. He is average size but has no problem with the bat (Rawlings 5150). Since you only have a 33.5/30.5 left in the Rip It Air, I am wondering if it would be very noticeable to him. Baseballdad17
The half inch/half oz difference will not be a huge difference, however the Air does have a slightly different feel than the 5150. The Rip-It models do come with a 30 day trial period, where he can actually try the bat out, so I would recommend taking advantage of that.
