Description

The design that has shocked softball with its cutting edge technology is back and better than ever! The Z-2000 employs S1iD Technology that allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance level from SWING 1. Two inner discs are positioned inside the barrel at the sweet spot to stop the barrel from from flexing past the legal limit. For players, this means they really do get MAXIMUM performance allowable and a larger performing sweet spot. Louisville Slugger uses their high quality Pure 360 Composite on the Z-2000. This new thinner high-strength and lightweight graphite fiber blend allows for reduced wall thickness, creating better performance while maintaining durability. The thinner fibers have allowed Louisville Slugger to use more layers in the barrel for added strength, but with an overall wall thickness that is thinner. The iST barrel to handle connection gives players maximum performance, even on inside hits. With an end-loaded swing weight, the Z-2000 is built for performance. For added comfort, the Z-2000 features 7/8" standard handle with a synthetic grip. Louisville Slugger: Be the Best. Or Swing the Rest. The Z-2000 is approved for play in USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

So So J player

Pros: Good grip. Looks good.

Cons: This is my third bat of this generation. Z1000 was incredible. Z2000 black and green was RIDICULOUS. And this new generation of the Z2000 is mediocre compared to previous models. Not sure if mine is a one off, but it is definitely lacking.

LS Z guy Smitty player

Pros: Hot right out of the wrapper. Have over 500 swings on it now and bat is just getting hotter. Overall one of the best bats on the market ask any Z owner!!! Guys on my team that have never hit HR's have hit them with this bat.

Cons: None with the RI. I bought the black and green Z2000 originally and it broke in the first 50 swings but seems like they have fixed the durability issues with the re-issue and the 3000

Hitting bombs Cburns94 player

Pros: I've had warning track power for the last 6 seasons. Right out of the wrapper I was hitting homers. I've started away from two piece bats and this one has exceeded my expectations. After only two games I've doubled my career HR total.

Cons: The grip, replaced with green lizard skin

WOW GREAT BAT!!!!!!! Jacob player

Pros: I've only been playing softball for about 3 years or so and I've bought a couple of bats in that time and they don't even compare to this bat. For one this bat is game ready out of the wrapper and I no you see that all the time on these reviews but this bat is really HOT out of the wrapper!!! Took the plastic off at the field and the out if the 1st 10 pitches 4 of em were hit about 325 and the rest were smoked line drives. If you want a good bat that's ready to go now this is it. Can't wait to see how it hits after a few hundred cuts on it!!!

Cons: none so far. seen some stuff on the internet about the durability issues but I've prolly got 75 to 100 swings on this one and all is good so far so we'll see

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
