Cons: None
Good practice bat Dylan alt parent
Pros: Good feel
Cons: Not much pop, liked the old Omaha's better.
BEST ALUMINUM BAT ON THE MARKET BOOMER SOONER coach
Pros: GREAT WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION, LARGE SWEET SPOT, TREMENDOUS POP OFF THE BAT. THIS IS THE BEST ALUMINUM BAT MY KIDS HAVE EVER SWUNG THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BAT. EASTONS DO NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO THIS BAT. DONT LET THE BLAND PAINT SCHEME FOOL YOU. ITS NOT A PRETTY BAT BUT IT SURE CAN MASH A BASEBALL. IF YOUR KIDS CAN HIT FOR POWER THEN YOU NEED TO PURCHASE THIS BAT. SEE FOR YOUR SELF YOU WILL NOT BE DIAPPOINTED. THIS IS THE FIRST REVIEW I HAVE EVER DONE ON A BAT. THIS IS HOW MUCH I LIKE THIS PRODUCT. WE OWN A GARAGE FULL OF EASTONS AND THEY WILL BE UP FOR SALE I GARUNTEE.
Cons: NOT THE PRETTIEST PAINT SCHEME EVER BUT DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.
Best balanced bat on the market Big daddy frank parent
Pros: This is without a doubt the most balanced bat for bat speed on the market. Very good pop at a competitive price.
Cons: None
great bat will i am parent
Pros: we bought easton s3 first. first cage session it had 3 dents and endcap seperation from a 10 yr old. went with the assault and its been no comparison. we ll never go the easton route again. assault is balanced hot and durable. highly reccomended
Cons: none
nice batman player
Pros: I use this bat in travel ball and it is great.
Cons: one dent.
MSC MSC parent
Pros: None
Cons: Bat makes a dull thud sound when hit. No pop whatsoever. When lined up with other brands of bats, the 28 inch is actually a half inch shorter. Not happy at all with purchase, Louisville Slugger usually makes good stuff, so maybe I have a bad bat. I am in the process now of trying to return it.
Might be the best $99 bat out there! Coach Jack Nick parent
Pros: Balanced swing weight. Great sweet spot. As much pop as BPF 1.15 will allow. You can't go wrong with the Louisville Slugger brand, and this bat might be the best 2 3/4" barrel bat out there for under $100. My 10U son is hitting consistently with this bat, and he's hitting with more power than before.
Cons: None to speak of . . . a little vibration, but that's to be expected.
Very Disappointed Dissapointed coach
Pros: Well balanced.
Cons: Purchased this bat for my 8 y-o in May. It's now August and the bat has seemingly already lost it's pop. Also, the adhesive strip which covers the top of the grip began to unravel within the first month. Lastly, the bat vibrates more than any other bat my son has ever used. Bottom Line: There are much better options than The Assault.
Better Than Any Easton!!!! JIm parent
Pros: This bat is amazing!!! My son just got this bat after one tournament he took all of this other bats out of his bag. Now the entire team is wanting to use his bat. It truly has lots of pop. He was using a Easton Maco and was not getting the power he wanted. Switched to the Assault and just like that he we getting the power he wanted!!!
Cons: ZERO!!!
Its decent Adam player
Pros: lightweight with a bigger barrel
Cons: the end cap will start to come off
Great bat speed Nick's Dad parent
Pros: My 10u son replaced the Easton S1 with this bat. We actually bought the Mako as well. For some reason the Mako is heavier and I can see it in his swing. This bat look like he's swinging a sledge hammer compared to a 4x4 with the Mako. He's not a power hitter so bat speed is critical when he's playing up to 11u and this bat delivers.
Cons: It vibrates like crazy if you don't hit the sweet spot!
Great Bat for the price Coach of the Year coach
Pros: This bat is HOT out of the wrapper. It took our 10 yr old about 150 swings with it to reach it's full potential but this is a great bat, especially for the price.
Cons: None
Loving it! Scott parent
Pros: We bought this for my 10 son and he is loving it. The ball jumps off the bat right out of the box. We are still breaking it in and he is killing it.
Cons: None right now.
great bat Jay parent
Pros: bought this bat for my son he had a 28 in 18 oz he loved this bat upgraded him to a 30" 20oz has great sound ball flies off the bat overall bat is great
Cons: none
Great Bat Greg C. parent
Pros: My son used it yesterday for the first time. He started to hit hard-hit base hits his first time around at batting practice. His second time around, he sent one right over the centerfield wall. he said that the feel of the bat was great, very comfortable. My son is a very laid back young man who very rarely comments on any of the bats that he had previously used, but made sure to tell me what he thought about this one. Highly recommend.
Cons: None to report at this time.
$59 STEAL!!! CTBaller23 parent
Pros: 10U son hitting well with 28/18. Small frame but gives him some big hits. He says he likes way hits & feels. Confidence has gone up swinging new bat. Team has started to use too. For $59 bucks & gave it a shot so after 2 weeks will say worth the $$. Have used LS in the past & had no durability issues. So will end with AWESOME bat for $59!!
Cons: None so far ... kids all like the look of & how hits ... Will update if needed ...
Good Bat for the price Nick Fallert parent
Pros: This is a good solid bat for the price. It has some decent pop and swings smoothly. Good Bat!
Cons: The grip is good and soft but is a little thick for my son. That's the first thing he noticed but is not a break it deal, still a good bat.
Awsome Kade player
Pros: It is the best bat I have ever used I will never use a Easton again
Cons: None
Great bat for the money Rich parent
Pros: Great balance, very good pop! My son is hitting the ball so much better than he was with the previous bat he has.
Cons: None so far
U9 travel Kevin Whelan parent
Pros: Ordered on Saturday at the cages on Monday. My son said the feel and pop on the bat was amazing. Never seen him hit it soon hard and long in my life. Awesome product and customer service
Cons: Did not order it last year
Bang for the buck! Coach Eric coach
Pros: Great pop. The ball jumps off the barrel. I have 3 kids on my 11u travel team making a lot of noise with this bat.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Great Bat new baseball dad parent
Pros: light weight, good pop, nice colors
Cons: little more sting than previous bats.
Parent Steve parent
Pros: Took a couple days to break in, but after a week has added another 10-20 feet to my son's hits.
Cons: None so far
Good bat but lacking durability. Roger parent
Pros: I purchased this bat for my 12 year and he absolutely loved the bat. The bat has great pop with a nice sweet spot.
Cons: After only 2 months of using the bat, a large dent has appeared and we are in the process of returning the bat.
Great bat UTxsLonghorns parent
Pros: My son has used this bat for couple of games. So far so good the bat has great pop and perfectly balanced. I would easily rate it above Easton.
Cons: None so far.
confidence builder! Kenny Clark parent
Pros: From day one you are never sure what you got but the more my smaller 12 year old has used this bat(and he plays up an age) the more confident he is with it. He's not a power hitter by no means but he just started a game with a 12 yr old team where he should be after already playing 2 games , and exhausted he ripped pitch to right with single then lined hard grounder through right side the second time. He loves his Bat and for the price you can't shake it with a stick!!
Cons: None. I kinda like the non flashy look. Gives it the blue collar look. Just there to getter done. Just got my 14 yr. old the bbcor version 31 32 and 33 so he can graduate up but hasn't switched over from his 5150 yet but it's coming soon!! No cons as far as I can see.!
Great price, but stings hands noco_dan coach
Pros: Half the team bought this bat because of the great price. Good bat speed. Good pop. Good sized sweet spot.
Cons: Really stings the hands if you miss the sweet spot. Half the kids who bought this bat are using their old bats because they cannot stand the sting from a miss-hit.
Decent bat for the price - 10U B. W. parent
Pros: Easy to swing - allows for great bat speed Nice feel to the bat - my son loves swinging it Comfortable grip Does not vibrate much - even when not hitting the sweet spot
Cons: Small sweet spot Not a ton of pop - you have to earn it with this bat
Great bat Anthony player
Pros: The bat is just great. It helps out the batter and makes it easier to hit bombs
Cons: The paint on the bat sometimes chips but I have been playing with it for months now so its not hat bad
Really great bat!! Oswego Panther parent
Pros: This bat is amazing! My son has never been a power hitter, but with this bat all of that has changed. He is leading his team in batting average and extra base hits with 3 over the fence. He loves this bat, and I love his confidence at the plate. If you are looking for a new bat this should be it. The price point on this bat is amazing as well. A+ product
Cons: The only issue he has had is that if the ball comes off the hands there is vibration. But, that will happen with any bat.
For The Money--Best Choice--Can't Go Wrong AZ Jim parent
Pros: Purchased for my son. This is his first "big barrel". Right from the get go the bat had pop. Lots of swings in the cages and practice already and it seems like it is just getting broken in. For the money, I don't see how there can be a better bat. I'm sure the Eastons, DiMarini's etc are all great products, but you can buy 5 of these for the price of one of those and yield the same results.
Cons: None at this time.
Grandson Loves this bat Papa other
Pros: Great pop right out the box. Great bat for the price. A friends son has this bat for all the 2015 season with no problems.
Cons: None so far. only had the bat 3 weeks.
Love this bat! Brad Kehm coach
Pros: I bought this for my son, 9 years old, who moved from Cal Ripken regular season to JBO fall ball which allows big barrels. I didn't want to pay more than $100 and it's the best $100 bucks I have ever spent. In two games he is 4-5 7 rbi batting in the 4th slot. Confidence has gone up significantly. This has bat has more pop than his Mako Torque that we spent $350 on!
Cons: None...do yourself a favor and buy this bat. I'm moving away from Easton completely. Louisville Slugger is making some great bats right now.

I made the mistake of buying this bat for my son last year in a 2 3/4" size barrel. It was a mistake because it's time for a new bat and I have bought three 2 5/8" barrel bats (CF7, Voodoo and S3) that can not match the distance my son gets when he hits with this bat so he will not use these. Would the extra distance typically be caused by this style of bat that works for him or the difference between 2 5/8 and 2 3/4? If style of bat any recommendations that would be similar to this bat? About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
