You must get this bat. worth every penny when you see your son running the bases after a line drive into the gap.

My son is 4'11, and weigh is 76 lbs., what bat should he be using? I was thinking a size like 31" 19 oz. What do you think?

Based on the information you provided our bat coach suggest a 30" 18 oz. in the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1). If you are expecting your son to grow into a 31" 19 oz. that wouldn't be a bad size for him.

What is the difference between the MAKO and S1? I know the XL is end loaded. Price is not an issue but I am not rich either. I just want to get the right bat for my son who is 12 years old. He is 5' 4" and 103 lbs. I want a bat that could last him at least 2 seasons to grow into. If you had a choice between the three Easton bats what would you choose? Honestly.

The Easton MAKO will be a combination of the Easton XL1 and the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1 Youth) bats. The MAKO will have a two-piece fully composite design, like both the S1 and XL1. The MAKO will have an extended barrel length like the XL1, but with a super balanced feel like the S1. I would go ahead and grab the MAKO for a player who wants the balanced swing feel and the longest barrel possible.

What are differences/improvements made from the 2013 S1 to the 2014 S1 (YB14S1)?

The 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1) Youth and the 2013 S1 are the exact same bat except for the color/paint scheme.

As the industry leader for over 30 years, Easton Baseball/Softball has continued to raise the bar with innovation, originality and ingenuity. Description for 2014 Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth
New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its third season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece THT100 Scandium Alloy/SIC Black Carbon hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The S1 is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
