Pros:  This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.

Cons:  My whole team wants to use it.

Pros:  The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series.

Cons:  None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

My grandson is 10 years old, weighs 56 lbs, and is 4'4". He uses a 29" or 30" bat now. However, what size and weight should he be using? We are planing on buying him a 2015 junior Easton Torq. He wants a 31" but I know that's to big for him. I know he's still growing though.

Based on the player's approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest 29" in the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK). I think a 30" could also work well, but a 31" might be a little too big.

The clear coating peeling off my son's 2014 MAKO. Should this be sent back to the manufacturer for replacement? Also, what does the actual end cap look like?

The issue with the clear coat on this 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK) may be something that would fall under Easton's warranty, but they would unfortunately have the official word on that. You can reach them at: (888) 259-1297. Concerning the end cap, we do have a picture of it on the site: http://goo.gl/iluQQC. It would be the white piece at the end of the barrel.

Is it a better bat than the 2015 Easton MAKO composite?

The 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB14MK) will feature the same materials and swing feel of the new 2015 model. They will hit very much the same. One is not better than the other.

Quick, easy and affordable. The two bat special was great for my family as I have a son in baseball and a daughter in softball. Worked very well and I thank you for thinking ahead.
