Pros:  This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.

Cons:  My whole team wants to use it.

Pros:  The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series.

Cons:  None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

We are looking at buying my son a new bat. He is 59 inches tall and weighs 91 lbs. Which size bat would work best for him? We are looking at a 31/20. Is that too big? Also, is the 2015 Easton MAKO a better bat than the 2014 Easton MAKO?

Based on his approximate height and weight, I would suggest 30". However, 31" can also work very well for him. This may allow him to use the bat a little bit longer as well, moving up a size. The 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK) and the new 2015 model will have the same material, construction and technology. The biggest difference will simply be a difference in cosmetics (appearance and design).

My son is 11 years old, is 5'2", and 90 lbs. He used a 29/17 bat last year, but we are looking to move up to a big barrel bat this coming year. He is a great contact-hitter and is looking for a bat to ease the transition to a big barrel. Would an Easton MAKO or S1 bat be a better option? I was thinking about the 29/19. Any advice?

The 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK) might be an excellent model to take a look at because it will incorporate a large sweet spot and extended barrel. This model is perfect for contact-hitters and will make generating a fast bat swing very easy. It is also one of the most well balanced models. Overall, this model has also probably been one of our best sellers.

I can't decide between the MAKO and the XL1 for my 10 year old (30/19). Any help would be appreciated.

The biggest difference between both models is essentially going to be the weight distribution. The 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK) will be very balanced, and will be an ideal model for a contact-hitter. The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14X1) will incorporate a slight end-load, and generally power hitters are going to prefer this type of weight distribution.
