Pros:  This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.

Cons:  My whole team wants to use it.

Pros:  The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series.

Cons:  None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

How long does this bat take to be broken in? I already hit about 70-80 baseballs with it.

As you know with all composite barrel bats we recommend a break-in. A good break-in consists of 150-200 hits off a tee or soft toss, start at about 40% power and gradually increasing as you get closer to 150 swing mark. Rotate the bat a quarter of an inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in. You'll feel the pop once the bat is broken-in.

If I get this bat in the 31 inch size will I be able to use this bat next year and still have a lot of pop?

The sizing of the bat would vary based on the size of the player so we could not speculate as to how long that size would be appropriate. As far as durability, the Mako is a very durable model and does have a 12 month warranty for replacement if it is damaged.

I know this bat is a new bat and just cleared by the Little League Association for play. I am afraid to buy a $300 bat and the bat gets banded from Little League when I need it during tournament? Can you guarantee that LL will not band this bat? It is new and they may find a flaw and claim it does not pass their criteria after extended tests? please dont think I am crazy, I got the money for the bat, it is not cheap, I need to know my team can use it all the way through All-Stars. Last year our opponents all had composite bats they killed us with half a swing. We could have won the entire tournament. I want some composite action too.

To our knowledge this bat the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) is approved for Little League because it has the stamp on the bat. They will not band this bat for any reason throughout the year.
