Pros:  This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.

Cons:  My whole team wants to use it.

Pros:  The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series.

Cons:  None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.

My son is 9 yrs old 5'1" and 140 lbs. He has tremendous hitting power. He has hit the ball over the fence a few times this spring. He has a DeMarini 31" 19 oz. I was just wondering which bat would be best for him the MAKO or the XL1, and what size and weight?

The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) is a balanced bat and is best suited for a contact hitter. The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded bat and best designed for a power hitter. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz.

What is the difference between the Junior Big Barrel MAKO and the Youth MAKO?

The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) will have a 2 1/4" barrel and be designed for player pitch. The 2014 Easton MAKO Junior Big Barrel (JBB14MK) will have a 2 3/4" barrel and is designed specifically for coach pitch play.

My son is 8 years old, 4'4" , 117 lbs. What would be the best size for him? He is currently using an Easton Stealth sc900 carbon handle/alloy barrel 29"/16 oz.

I would recommend a 29" bat. The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) would give him a large sweet spot to work with and would be a great fit.
