Pros:  My first two swings out of the wrapper with this bat I hit homeruns. I am a power hitter but was really impressed with the pop!

Cons:  I took two rounds of batting practice in 62 degree weather only using .52/300 balls and this bat cracked badly. Now having to deal with mailing it back to DeMarini and hopefully getting it back to start the season. It cracked in a jagged spider web design. Good bat but have to be honest, wish I had spent my $299 on a different bat.

Pros:  Feels just like the 2013 OG Aftermath. Graphics are definitely better too. Can't go wrong with this bat.

Cons:  Stick to swinging with 52/300 balls. It hits the 44/375 balls well, but might have durability issues over time.

Pros:  Great feel, great sound, hot out of the wrapper, CRUSHES the new 52/300 balls! Teammate picked this stick up for upcoming season -- he hit it at BP, then brought it to us at team practice, and out of the wrapper, this thing is DEADLY! Love it. Swung it more than I swung my Fu Dawg..and I love my FD!

Cons:  None that I can think of....I'm a simple kind of guy on graphics, so I think they could use a little work, so I gave it 4 stars..other than that, this stick is HOT!

Does this bat have a 1.20 rating?

Unfortunately, the 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXFLS-V14) is only approved for play in ASA. ASA does not use the same Bat Performance Test than USSSA uses to regulate bats, so we couldn't confirm that this Flipper would be approved in a league that requires a bat to have a BPF 1.20 rating. I would also check with your league to see if they have an Approved Bats List available.

I heard from a few people that this bat is a better bat for cold weather and doesn't do so well in warmer weather. Can anyone tell me how true that statement is?

The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXFLS-V14) would hit very well in warm weather. All bats, whether alloy or composite, will lose performance and risk damage in temperatures under 55 degrees.

What's the performance difference between this bat and the 2013 model?

This 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) Slow Pitch Softball Bat is regulated by the newer ASA performance certification. The 2013 model was still stamped with the 2004 ASA regulation. In regards to performance, this 2014 model should offer better performance when hitting the .52 COR, 300 Compression softballs that ASA leagues now use. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to quantify the difference in performance you might see.
