Description

For those players that started with a small barrel COMBAT - you will not be disappointed in the all new Portent youth big barrel bat. For those of you that have never experienced the COMBAT difference, here is what you can expect: a swing weight that is right on point, a sweet spot that's almost not even fair, and zero sting/vibration. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It all starts with COMBAT's Localized Stiffening Technology that allows their engineers to lower barrel wall stiffness on both sides of the normal sweet spot, resulting in an enlarged Double Sweetspot area where absolute maximum performance can be achieved! The 100% composite, one-piece Portent utilizes COMBAT's Blended Fiber Technology that blends several different fibers in varying proportions at carefully controlled angles to create a composite material that results in both resilient durability and increased trampoline effect. Separation Barrier Technology also allows this bat to be HOT out of the wrapper! The Portent draws much of its durability from its Seamless Construction; meaning that there are not cuts or splices - just continuous fiber all the way around. Feel, Durability, and Sweet Spot. That's what makes COMBAT the preferred composite bat. COMBAT: For Players, By Players! The Portent features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

This bat is legit Coach coach

Pros: I gotta say this bat has some serious pop! My son plays 11U travel ball and has used several bats over the years, nothing has come close to this bat. Now I understand why there is a warning label on this bat.

Quite possibly the best bat ever made! Bat Fanatic coach

Pros: Hot out of the wrapper is an understatement. My 10 year old son plays on the 11 year old AAA travel team and has always been the top 2 or 3 hitters. This bat has lifted him to the top! He"s now hitting it over the fence and everyone on the team wants to use it. The balance is superb and absolutely no vibration or sting. An impressive bat to say the least!

Cons: Everyone on your team will want to use it!!!

Attention getter in spite of it's plain graphics. TxTornado parent

Pros: This bat is the truth. Major pop and low MOI. If you need batspeed with pop, this is it. My 10 year old plays travel ball, we are practicing at an indoor facility right now, and when he's hitting live pitching, people come and watch. We don't throw meatballs to him either. Several coaches and older players have commented on how hard he's hitting the ball. We switched from a Mako to this bat, and the difference has been visible. We've always used Easton, I used Easton when I played, but I have to give it to Combat this time.

Cons: We'll see how it holds up, but so far so good. I may have to buy another one since the other kids are asking to use it now.

Great composite coach coach

Pros: Great pop and exit speed, this bat takes very little to break in. Performs as well if not better than the 2014 Easton $350 composites, and along with the Combat Wanted 2-piece, these are the bats we're seeing more and more at the early season AAA and Majors tournaments.

Cons: None so far.

My son loves this bat!! Chadd Ware parent

Pros: My 12 year old started off this season 2/8 after hitting .800 last year in 12u rec, as an 11 yr old. New bat arrived before our first tnmt. Day 1, he only goes 2/5, but every ball was hit well. Day 2, 4/5, with a 240 foot HR. Our team is sponsored by DeMarini....but we will never go away from Combat. Instant pop, right out of the wrapper. He's 5'6", and 106 lbs.

Cons: None yet. Everything up top is accurate....5 stars. Too soon to report durability.

Amazing Da beast with friends player

Pros: I have had this bat for a while now and it seems better and better every time I pick it up. My friends have composite Easton's like the s1 or the mako. So we had a competition of which bat could hit the ball farther we all took turns. The combat went 260 compared to the Easton's 230 for all of us. In three games I went 7 for 10 with 1hr 2triples 3doubles1si and2 so and a groundouts

Cons: Nope

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat: PORSL110? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son, who is 10, seemed to be more of a contact hitter. However; he has been swinging the bat a lot faster over the past several months, and seems to be getting quite a bit stronger. I have been debating whether to get the 2014 Voodoo or the 2014 Portent. Not sure I understand the differences well enough. For a 10 year old close to 70lbs, athletic build, with an increasing bat speed, which would be a better fit? Christos
If your son has increasing bat speed you might consider going with a slightly end loaded bat like the DeMarini Voodoo. This will help him generate more inertia and kind of balance his bat speed.
Noah
My son is 11 (12 baseball age) and a pretty strong kid with good bat speed. He has been swinging a B4 Portent 30" 20 oz. and I was thinking about the new B4 31" 19 oz. i figured the combo of an extra inch with reduced weight would keep his swing weight pretty close. Is there anything other than the B4 that you can recommend? We really love the pop of that bat. Paul
The 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 is a -10, but they make that same model in a -12. The 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL112 Senior League is one of the only -12s made with a 2 5/8" barrel. The only other option is the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Catalyst: SL13C, which won't have the extended barrel like the Portent. The Portent will also be slightly higher performing than the Catalyst.
Katie
My son is 9 and a big kid for his age at 5ft tall and 90 lbs. He has grown out of his 28" 18 oz. Easton S3 and is currently using a 29" 19 oz. Vexxum. He has adapted well to the end load and has good, but not great bat speed. It seems to be getting faster as he gets stronger. We are looking to upgrade his DeMarini. He really likes the feel of the COMbat bats he has tried. How would he fare with the Portent or is there another model (Combat or other)better suited for his size/strength? Kelly
The 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League is a balanced bat and would be great for player that needs to increase their bat speed. The 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 uses top of the line composite material for outstanding performance and durability.
Kara
My son has loved the B3 bat and done very well. He is 12, 5'2" and 80 lbs so definitely a contact hitter as opposed to power hitter. We have been waiting for the 2014 B4 to come out. What is the difference between that and the Portent? jm
The 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League is more balanced than the COMBAT B3. This is great for a player who needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
My son is a big 9 year old. 5' 125 lbs. He is very strong and was thinking about the 30" 20 oz. or 30" 22 oz.? Plays travel ball and in Pony league. D's Dad
Based on his height, weight, and ageand we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League.
Kara
My son is 11 and is 5'2" around 105 lbs. He has been using a DeMarini Voodoo (29/19) for a year now with good success. I am trying to decide what is the next bat size to get for him for 2014. I was leaning toward a 31" COMbat Portent, but cannot decide between a drop -10 and -12. Thoughts? Jaxdad
At age 11, the -10 sizing would be more typical on the 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League. This would be an ideal choice for any younger player looking to add performance.
Brandon
My son is 12 1/2, weighs 90 lbs, and is 4' 9". He's short but strong. Last year he hit the Combat B3 30" 22 oz. and did well. Should I keep him in a 30" 22 oz. or is the 30" 20 oz. better suited for his age and stature? Baseball Dad
If your son was successful last year using a -8 COMBAT we would not recommend dropping down in weight and using the 30" 20 oz. 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League.
Kara
What is the difference with this portent and the b4 portent? Is this bat good for line drive hitter who has lots of power? Big A
The only differences between the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) and the 2013 B4 Portent are cosmetic. This bat would be a good choice for a line drive hitter with good power because it is a one-piece composite.
Tori
How dose this bat hold up in the cold temperatures? Bob
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) Senior League is a one-piece composite design and should not be used in temperatures under 55 degrees.
Jason
What is the difference between the PORSL110 & the PORSL210? bob
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) Senior League features a 2 5/8" barrel and the PORSL210 has a 2 3/4" barrel.
Jason
Is this bat legal for any other league besides USSSA? Do you know if it's legal for Dixie league? EricJ.
This bat would not be legal in the Dixie Leagues, and is only certified for play in the USSSA sanctioned games.
Derek
What is the difference between the PORSL110 and the COMBAT B5 Da Bomb? dj
This 2014 COMBAT Portent: (PORSL110) Senior League offers a very comparable design to the COMBAT B5 Da Bomb, but the Portent's composite is made through a new technique that eliminate voids/gap in the material and gives you a more durable and better performing bat. That B5 Da Bomb is a special edition model that was also a balanced one-piece composite design.
Mac
Besides the diameter difference, are there any other differences between the Combat PORSL110 and the PORSL210? Does the 110 have more pop? Is the material different? Why would I buy the PORSL110 when I could buy the PORSL210 with a bigger diameter? IndyBatDad
The only difference between the COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) Senior League and the COMBAT Portent XL (PORSL210) Senior League is barrel size. They are constructed with the same material, so pop will be the same. Some league do not allow the 2 3/4" barrel which is why someone could purchase the 2 5/8" barrel.
Damon
What is the difference between the 2014 COMBAT Portent and the COMBAT B4? Which one has more pop? Mikey Baseball
The 2014 COMBAT Portent: (PORSL110) Senior League bat's composite material has been improved upon from the material used in the B4 Portent. COMBAT utilizes a new manufacturing technique that improves the quality of the composite giving you a stronger design that should also increase performance. Both are very balanced bats and feature the same BPF 1.15 performance certification.
Mac
Are the barrel lengths the same between the PORSL110 and the PORSL210? Thanks. Detroit Joe
Yes, the barrel lengths should be very similar between the 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL110 Senior League and the PORSL210 models.
Brandon
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth League 13-15 year old? DeanJ
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) features a composite barrel, so it will not be legal for the Babe Ruth League 13-15 age division. If a bat is composite, it must be BBCOR certified.
Tessa L.
Is there a difference in barrel length between PORSL110 and the PORSL112? Brad
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) and the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL112) will have a similar barrel size.
Kara
According to the 2014 Dixie League Rule book this bat would be legal for "O" zone division as long as it is no greater than 2 5/8 in diameter and 33" in length. Do you agree with this? kaceman
Yes, 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) is legal for play in the "O" Zone division of Dixie Youth Baseball.
Bobby
Does the bat have a big sweet spot? pr
Yes, the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) has one of the largest sweet spots available on the market. The high end composite material, along with the balanced swing weight, make this one of the best bats you can get.
Justin R.
My son is a big 8 1/2. 4'7" and 87 pounds. He is a power hitter, many triples and a fair amount of homers. He loves his Easton S3 29" 19 oz., but it is dimpled. He needs a bat for the all star season and hopefully next season. We are debating between the Easton S1 and the COMBAT Portent. We were looking at 29" 19 oz. for both. What is you suggestion? We need composite. Jay
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) and the 2014 Easton S1 (SL14S110) are both very high performing composite bats. The S1 is a two-piece composite and is best for a contact hitter. The one-piece design of the Portent is better for a power hitter.
Kara
Would you recommend the Combat Portent or the Easton S1 or S3 for a 12 1/2 year old? He can hit with power or hit the gaps pretty equally. rbl
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110 Senior League) and the Easton S1 would be great due to their full composite designs. The S3 will be a one-piece fully alloy model. All will be very balanced and easy to swing.
Brandon
Can this bat be used in Little League Intermediate Division? Ron
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) is not legal in Little League Intermediate Division. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified.
Kara
Would you recommend either the DeMarini CF5 over the COMBAT Portent for a contact hitter? Mr.Baseball
No, I wouldn't recommend the CF5 over the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110). Both feature very high performing composite materials and have a nicely balanced swing, which is ideal for contact hitters.
Justin R.
My son is a small 11 year old. He is 4' 5" and 70 lbs. He is a contact type of hitter. Which is better for him the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) Senior League or 2014 COMBAT Wanted (WANSL110) Senior League? jim
If he is a contact hitter I would recommend the 2014 COMBAT Wanted (WANSL110) Senior League because it is a two-piece bat which should help more with swing speed and also cut down on vibration when he makes contact.
Damon
Which would you recommend more for power: this or the 2014 Marucci Elite? swingman
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) is a balanced, one-piece fully composite bat. A power hitter will tend to prefer a one-piece design because it will provide a stiffer feel on contact. The Marucci Elite is a seamless two-piece hybrid model, which will feel somewhat similar to the one-piece design of the Portent. However, it is a two-piece bat so it does allow for a little more flex on contact than than the Portent. If you are more of a power hitter, the Portent may be the better option for you.
Tessa
Would this out perform the Voodoo OVERLORD? mr.baseball
The 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL110) Senior League and the OVERLORD are both extremely good bats. The Portent has a balances swing and usually performs better for a contact hitter. The OVERLORD has an end loaded swing weight and typically performs better for a power hitter.
Jason
Any thoughts for big barrel recommendation for my 10 year old son? He is 55", weighs 61 lbs. He has good bat speed and is a good contact hitter. Tommyboy
The 2014 COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) would be a great option for your son. It features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters. The balanced swing weight will make this bat a great option to work on increasing bat speed as well as control.
Tessa
what is the difference between this bat and the 2015 version Bballboy
Beside the different graphics the Portent G3 will have Ultra-Premium Lizard Skins grip.
Damon
Which Combat bat would be comparable to the Combat Pure Sr. League Composite Baseball Bat? David
The 2014 COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) is going to be the closest to the Combat Pure. Both are balanced full composite designs.
Frankie
Is there a difference between a PORSL1 and PORSL110 or are they the same bat? DRod
I am unsure where you are seeing the model number PORSL1 but the 10 at the end of the model code for the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) indicates that it is a -10 length to weight ratio. Similarly, the -8 version of the bat is listed as COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL108) and the -12 is COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL112).
Patrick
Is this bat legal for the Pony Baseball League? Friz
Yes the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) is legal for the Pony Baseball League. The new USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp is located on the on the lower part of the barrel.
Liz
What are the differences between the Portent and Wanted -10 SL bats besides the Portent one-piece and the Wanted two-piece designs? The descriptions for both bats are almost identical. Which one is more balanced? My son will be 8 this summer and he is 4 foot 7 and weighs 73 pounds. He has been using the 2014 Portent 28 inch -10 and is ready for a larger model. RL
The fact that they are different one-piece versus two-piece construction would be the only major difference between the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) and the 2015 COMBAT Wanted Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip (WG3SL110). They both use similar techniques for their composite construction and both will be similarly balanced.
Patrick
What's the difference between this bat and the COMBAT B5 Da Bomb -10? Why don't u sell the B5? sickgame
The COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) offers a very comparable design to the COMBAT B5 Da Bomb, but the Portent's composite is made through a new technique that eliminate voids/gap in the material and gives you a more durable and better performing bat. That B5 Da Bomb is a special edition model that was also a balanced one-piece composite design. The B5 Da Bomb is no longer produced by COMBAT.
Tom
Can this bat be used in Dixie Youth in Alabama? gann69
All composite bats, like the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110), must have a BBCOR .50 Certified Stamp on it.
Tom
My son is moving up from Little League"s 2 1/4 inch diameter bat to travel ball with a 2 5/8 inch diameter bat so I am trying to decide on what bat would be his best option without breaking the bank. The preliminary options are a 29 inch 19 ounce Combat Portent or a 29 inch 19 ounce DeMarini CF7. He was fond of his 2 1/4 inch DeMarini Vexxum 30 inch 16.5 ounce (-13.5) that he used in Little League, but has also liked a teammate"s Combat. Suggestions? RW
Either the COMBAT Portent Senior League Baseball Bat (PORSL110) or the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) would both be nice options. The CF7 will have a bit more flex for added bat speed and a bit better sting protection. The Portent will have a bit larger sweet spot. The preference would come down to which design feature you like more.
