Description

The Axe handle was a truly revolutionary concept when it was introduced last season. Now, it's developed into a must-have for players around the country that are looking to bring power and consistency to their game! The Axe Avenge BBCOR starts out traditionally with a two-piece composite design constructed from Plus Plus Composite that features the lightest, most durable carbon fiber on the market. Reinforced on the hitting side of the barrel using the Axe's new Engineered Hitting Zone, Plus Plus Composite makes it possible to have superior composite performance with the Axe handle. This year's model features a much more elongated barrel that delivers a HUGE sweet spot! But it's the handle that really makes this bat stand out. Refined this year with improved ergonomics that deliver better performance and comfort, the Axe handle looks exactly like what it sounds like - the handle of an axe. It defies conventional thinking, but the Axe handle fits perfectly in your hands, pushing the bat to the fingertips where it's supposed to be. The Axe handle's oval nature establishes a single swing plane for ridiculously consistent performance, swing after swing! Axe is so confident that you'll love this bat, that they are offering a 30 day, no questions asked, money-back guarantee. If the Axe handle isn't for you, simply send it back. What do you have to lose? Get the power of an Axe in your hands! Axe: Unleash Your Swing! The Axe Avenge is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Not a gimmick, just a 'makes sense' great design. Owen S. from "North" player

Pros: Easy swing adjustment, comfortable bat because of it's no-nonsense design to the handle. It makes for an easy transfer of your core power to the extention of the bat. Your swing is made so easy to adjust because of lack if the 'knob edge' jamming into your palm. Just like its namesake, the "AXE" accomplishes it's purpose, and without having to be turned around constantly. Think about it. Why don't they have a knob on a real Axe handle? The answer is painfully obvious/simple. Because it would be uncomfortable, and its accuracy diminished. It's such a common sense approach to the design of a quality bat. Why it took so long for somebody to apply it to a bat handle is a mystery. This is no training bat, its a real, technically sound approach to making a "better mouse trap". We have 4 AXE bats. The L-180 hard maple comp. for batting cages, AND wood bat leagues, the 'Avenge' for High School, the 'fungo', and the short training bat. All the 'haters' have become big fans after using them.

Cons: The only 'con' is overcoming the 'stigma' of being something "new". If you aren't a good hitter, stop glaring at the bat after hearing "strike 3". Its you, not the bat. (;-)

Just OK LBJ_0661 player

Pros: Great marketing story around the knob shape is pretty cool

Cons: Aside from taking a little while to get used to the new knob design, the bat is just ok. Pop and feel are very average and probably not worth the $400

Axe bats Step player

Pros: Decent pop for a bbcor bat but there are better. Little vibration unless you get severely jammed. Increased bat speed.

Cons: Feels awkward if this is your first time using them. The bat really does change your swing path, but if you've been swinging Easton's all your life it can be quite a shock and adjustment to get used to. Increased bat speed makes it hard for the barrel to stay in the zone very long.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Axe Avenge BBCOR Baseball Bat: L140A? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does the Axe compare with the MAKO and CF6? bob
This 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR: L140A Adult is a balanced two-piece composite that features barrel technology that expands the sweetspot. This design is very similar to that of a MAKO or CF6. With this bat being brand new, we have not received any feedback on it. But Baden does offer a 30 Day Money-Back Guarantee on this model, so that you may try it out risk-free. The Axe handle promotes a freer release through contact and more consistent swing plane which would not be found in either the MAKO or CF6.
Mac
Does this bat require extensive break-in before game use? High School Prospect
The 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR (L140A) Adult model bat features a composite design that will require some breaking in to reach its maximum potential. We recommend completing between 150 to 200 hits off of a tee or in a soft toss situation to get those composite fibers broken in.
Patrick
How durable is this bat? Baseball
The 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR: L140A Adult is going to be a very durable bat.
Jackson
Under normal circumstances, a bat is supposed to be rotated on a regualar basis. That doesn't seem practical with the AXE bat. Will using one side of the bat diminish the life of it? John
No, AXE designs their bats with this one-sided hitting concept in mind and makes the hitting side of the barrel extra durable, giving it the same lifespan as any other bat on the market.
Kyle J.
Does the 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR L140A come with a free wood bat? Trevor
The 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR (L140A) does not currently come with a free wood bat. Previously it had come with a free L180 Maple Composite BBCOR Wood Bat but that is no longer a featured promotion.

About the Brand

Launched by Baden Sports in 2011, the Axe line of bats was hailed as a breakthrough in bat technology by players and coaches from youth leagues to the Pros. The makers of the Axe line of bats often pose the question, "What does your traditional knob do for you?" Most players don't have a good answer. Axe engineers have created a handle that is not only more comfortable and safer in terms of hand injuries, but also helps improve the hitter's swing by keeping them on an even plane. Although Axe is new to the market, they are backed by Baden Sports, Inc., an independent, family-owned company that has been making baseball products since 1979. Their passion to create a better game is unparalleled, making it no surprise that the Axe handle is set to be baseball's next big thing.
