Description

New for Always looking to take slow pitch softball bats to the next level, Miken proudly introduces the new Triad Maxload! The two-piece Triad defies Miken's conventional one-piece composite design, but is still made with the same high grade carbon fiber Miken's fans are used to. Triad is not only the name of the bat, but also the name of Miken's newest technology. Triad Technology revolutionizes bat construction by using triple pressure application to harness the thermal expansion of Mken's high grade aerospace carbon. The result is unparalleled durability and jaw-dropping performance! The handle of the Triad is made with Vortex Technology that uses the power of a braided reinforcement to increase the strength of the handle and optimize performance. Each braided layer distributes the load evenly, while all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex and performance. On the other end, the Triad features Maxload, or end-loaded, weighting to give players extra momentum behind each swing for maximum power! Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The Triad Maxload features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA only. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Game or tourney ready right out of the wrapper. Good Bat! This thing is sick. It puts some of the older ASA bats to shame.

Cons: It has new technology, so I have to see how it holds up with every day use.

Blackhole(shortstop)

Pros: This has to be one of the hottest bats if notTHEE hottest bat out there right now. Easily hitting 320-350 ft bombs. UNTIL IT CRACKS

Cons: Only problem is the durability when playing in a league that uses 44/375 balls. I have had to send my bat back twice. !st one cracked within 5 days and the 2nd one in 1 Mo. and a 1/2. Miken has been graciously working with me but This bat should come with an unlimited warranty till Miken gets the Technology right.

Pros: It's true, this bat is very hot out of the wrapper .

Cons: If you miss the Small sweet spot it will sting to your hands,I added a thick tennis racket wrap and that fixed the sting problem,I bought the bat Jan.3rd 2013 and as of yesterday ,Feb.21st and using it in double headers and 4 tournaments,it came apart at the handle, also notice a few hairline cracks.will try another and see how it goes,in our Mesa,Az. Senior slowpitch league I know of 13 Triads that have had the same problem. :-/

cookie monster(thirdbase, shortstop)

Pros: Great pop, love the design, hot hot hot!

Cons: Very poor durability, after my second indoor practice of doing soft toss with league balls the bat separated at he handle. To the point that the barrel would slide down over the handle. After being a multiple Miken bat owner I've never been more excited to get a bat only to be disappointed.

Big Sam

Pros: The Triad ASA bat is the best/worst bat that I ever owned. It's the best bat, because it is a hot out of the wrapper.

Cons: The worst because of serious durability issues, after around 20 swings a bad rattle accrued. Sent bat back to Miken, it took almost a month to receive my bat back and under 100 swings later the bat is peeling apart and has another serious rattle. My Ultra 2 senior bat is holding up better than the Triad and that's scary! I have been warning players that it is a lot of money to spend for a few hits and a lot of headaches!

Pros: INITIAL POP, DISTANCE, AND LOOKS. BAT WAS TRULY HOT SINCE THE FIRST SWING.

Cons: AFTER USING FOR 5 MONTHS NOW THE BAT HAS DEVELOPED A RATTLE INSIDE, DUE TO A PIECE OF MATERIAL INSIDE. ANOTHER SIMILAR BAT FROM AN OPPOSING TEAM HAD SAME RATTLE. IT ACTUALLY DISTRACTS ME. ALSO, A LOT OF THE POP HAS DIMINISHED. THINKING OF SENDING IT IN. NOT HAPPY WITH IT ANYMORE.

Pros: It has a distinctive when the ball is hit off the sweet spot. I knew I hit the spot the first time I heard the sound and the ball really took off. It feels very solid on contact and seems to need little break in.

Pros: The feel and swing of this bat is the best I've had in years. I have 3 Freak 98's, an NRG, and a Decoy. I also just got an Ultra. This Triad is now my favorite. The pop and movement is fantastic. The fence is this bat's friend.

Pros: I put about 25 to 30 cracks on it and then the bat really started to open up. got a few solid line drives in my first game. in my second game hit a shot to left center that hit the upper part of the light pole on a 310 foot fence. Bat is the truth! according to Miken sports the new 2014 wrapper for the barrel is a lot more durable and have made significant changes to improve durability.

Hot Bat but durability is horrible. AJ player

Pros: This bat is hot out of the wrapper. I hit it today in 65 degree weather. Hit a few shots over a 310 foot fence with a 5 -10 mph wind coming in. I hit a lot of different bats and this and the aftermath are the best ASA bats out there.

Cons: After 100 cuts there are several small cracks in the outer finish of the bat. Also, there are 3 small cracks where the barrel meets the handle. I'm not sure how long this will last.

Great bat for a very short time Mario Rivera player

Pros: bat drops bombs for short time

Cons: Mine telescoped after the first game . Sent it back and replaced. I babied it until this year and first Bp it exploded. Did hit a few bombers before it self destructed. Miken should have warrantied this 300 stick for a few years knowing the bats short lifespan.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken Triad Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: STRIMA? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this bat have the 2013 usssa stamp? Rubio
The new 2013 Miken Triad Maxload, does feature the new 2013 ASA stamp, but not the new USSSA stamp.
Ryan
Aside from being a two-piece, how is this bat different than the Freak NXT Maxload? Nh916er
The other main difference is the Triad Technology used in this bat. Triad Technology revolutionizes bat construction by using triple pressure application to harness the thermal expansion of Mken's high grade aerospace carbon. The result is unparalleled durability and jaw-dropping performance! Also, the handle of the Triad is made with Vortex Technology that uses the power of a braided reinforcement to increase the strength of the handle and optimize performance.
Tyler
Does the max load add .5 or 1 full oz. extra weighting on the TRIAD? JesseJames
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload: STRIMA will have a 1 to 1.5 oz. endload.
Tyler
On previous question they asked if it will have the usssa stamp and you guys answered yes , now the bat features it says ASA only . Will it be legal for usssa or is there a usssa version ? If so will it be a difference between them ? They say new ASA bats are hoter... Oz
The new 2013 Miken Triad Maxload features the new 2013 ASA stamp, but not the new USSSA stamp. It has never carried the new USSSA stamp and there is not a USSSA version of the Triad.
Tyler
When you say the end load is .5 to 1oz does that mean you can order the end weight to what you want? and is there a balanced version of this bat? moondoggy
The endload can not be customized unfortunately. The Triad is only available in a maxload design.
Tyler
Does this bat have an .05oz or a full oz end load? tacorice
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload will have a 1 to 1.5oz. end load.
Noah
Is this bat "hotter" than the new Miken Ultra for ASA play. B
Both the 2013 Miken Triad Maxload: STRIMA Slow Pitch bat and the 2013 Miken Ultra ASA: SOULTA Slow Pitch bat feature the new ASA stamp and have to meet the new ASA certification.
Aubrey
Is the triad rated at 100 or 98 and will this bat's performance be similar to miken's famed recoil which ASA banned miken's production A
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload: STRIMA is only approved for ASA play. Unfortunately, ASA no longer uses the 98 mph and 100 mph ratings or tests on their bats. It will be a little higher performing than more ASA bats of the past, and will have similar performance to the Recoil.
Tyler
Can i order the bat with black tape instead of the white tape? Larry Legend
Unfortunately, we are unable to customize the grip tape on bats.
Tyler
Are we allowd to use this in league play or tournaments without the USSSA stamp? awatata
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch is only approved for ASA league play. You could use it in any unsanctioned league/tournament as well.
Marcus
I regularly swing a balanced 30 oz. but I really like the end loaded feel. So would I benefit more from buying a 30 oz. with a 1 oz. end load or would I benefit more from a 28 oz.? Jaws
The 28 oz. 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA will feel more like a balanced 30 oz. bat. If you prefer the end loaded feel we recommend the 30 oz. with a 1 oz. end load.
Kara
Does the end load add to the bats weight? For example, if I buy a 27 oz. Triad, will it actually weigh in at 28-28.5 oz.? Or is the end load included in the total weight? Miken has been known to not include the end load weight in some bats. Ben
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA has a 1/2 oz end load that is included in the weight of the bat.
Kara
Which bat is equal to the Miken NRG? 3rd
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch bat is going to be a similar bat to the old Miken NRG Maxload if you are looking for an ASA bat. If you are looking for an USSSA bat, the 2014 Miken REV-EX Maxload USSSA: SREVMU Slow Pitch bat will work well.
Robert
What core/compression balls are suppose to be used with this bat? I hear that a harder ball will cause the bat to telescope quickly. brad
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch should be used with the low compression balls. If they are used with the harder balls they can crack or dent more easily.
Kara
Does it matter which softball I use when batting with the Traid? beaver
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch features the 2013 ASA stamp and is designed to be used with the lower compression softballs (ie. 50 COR or 52 COR). If bats with the new ASA stamp are used with higher compression softballs, they will be more susceptible to cracks or dents.
Mac
How would this bat compare to the 2012 Miken Freak Maxload FX 700? I use the 28oz Maxload version of that, and have loved it. What could I look forward to in this bat, compared to the Freak? Big Nasty
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch will be a end-loaded bat and more for a power hitter as the 2013 Miken Freak Plus: SPFKPU Slow Pitch will be more balanced and for more of a line drive hitter. I have heard great things about the pop in the 2013 Miken Freak, they say it out performs most slow pitch bats.
Chad M.
Does this bat have the 1.20 Certified stamp on it? Asian Beast
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch bat will only feature the new ASA Certified stamp and markings.
Brandon
What is the difference between STRIMA and STRIMU? Sergio
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch bat is approved for ASA league play, and the 2014 Miken Triad Maxload USSSA: STRIMU Slow Pitch bat is approved for USSSA league play.
Robert
Compare to the 2008 Miken Maxload Recoil (red one), what is the difference between them? Also, compare with 2014 ASA 750X. Thanks. DKL
Both the 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch and the 2014 Miken Ultra 750X Maxload ASA: SULTMA Slow Pitch use upgraded materials compared to the 2008 Miken Recoil. The Miken Ultra 750X Maxload ASA is a one-piece bat like the Miken Recoil, but will feature new technology for better performance and durability.
Kara
I bought this bat and I play fastpitch, but i'm strong enough to be swinging the weight of the bat. Should I be worried about the speed of the pitches with this bat? abby
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch can only be used in slow pitch softball. This bat will not be legal if you try to use it in fastpitch.
Noah
I swing the Miken Psycho in 27 oz. We are moving to an ASA league, so would you recommend a 28 oz. Triad, or will they feel similar in weight? MBeers
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch has a Maxload end load weight which is 0.5 oz. The Psycho you have has the full, 1 oz. end load. If you're looking for a similar swing feel, you could definitely consider going up to the 28 oz. model.
Mac
What is the difference between Maxload and balanced? juancho86
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch has a 1/2 ounce end load at the end of the barrel. This is best for a power hitter. A balanced bat has the weight evenly distributed throughout the bat. A balanced bat is better for a contact hitter or a hitter that needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
I'm thinking of getting this bat, I am looking for more power and more distance. I am stuck between the Triad and the Miken 750X Maxload. Which one would be better suited for a player that is looking for more power and distance? Big Papi
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch is a great option for power hitters, due to the max load design, which will put more max behind the ball. If you struggle with swing speed, the two-piece composite design will provide flex in the handle, which will create a whip effect through the zone for more swing speed. If you do not struggle with swing speed, I'd go with the Miken 750X Maxload, as its one-piece design will transfer energy more efficiently for an already powerful player.
Katie
Would you recommend this bat for someone that wants to get extra distance on their hits? I play ASA, and I currently swing the Miken Ultra 750X and I am looking for another bat that is similar. What would be your recommendation? Big K
The 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch will have a similar end loaded feel as The Miken Ultra 750X.. It will have more flex because of the two-piece composite design. If you are searching for a one-piece composite bat with and end loaded feel, the 2014 Miken Freak 4 The Fallen ASA: 4FALMA Slow Pitch would be a great alternative.
Kara
I am normally a one piece bat guy, never swung a two piece and I am thinking about getting this bat. Will the flex on this bat comprimise distance? I know it does help with bat speed, but I still want to hit with power. Padres Fan
The flex of the 2013 Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch will not compromise the distance. The half ounce end load will assist in proving outstanding power and distance.
Kara
Is this the best ASA Miken bat to use with the new .52 core softballs? My league will be starting to use the new .52 core balls and I'm looking to get a new bat that is better hitting that type of ball. I use a balanced bat but want to start using a Maxload. Kdo
Yes, the Miken Triad Maxload ASA: STRIMA Slow Pitch bat will feature the new ASA stamp and hit the .52 core balls very well!
Brandon
Is this bat certified for Senior Softball Leagues ? Lou
The Miken Triad Maxload ASA (STRIMA) is only approved for ASA. However, some Senior Softball Leagues to not have restrictions. We recommend contacting your local league official for rules in your league.
Kara
I swing a 30 oz. 2013 Easton Salvo Comp 98: SP12SV98 and hit bombs with it. I want this bat but am not sure which weight will be best due to being a different company. Help! B Mac
The Miken Triad Maxload ASA (STRIMA) is slightly more end loaded than the Easton Salvo. We recommend a 28 oz. bat.
Kara
The inside of the bat sounds like little rocks inside the bat after only 3 practice 1/2 swings. Has this happened before? Big Papi
A rattle inside the bat is typically indicates a piece of the composite material has come loose inside the bat. The rattle will not affect the performance of the bat. However, the rattle would be covered under warranty.
Kara
Is this bat half aluminum and has a composite handle? Barndog
The Miken Triad Maxload ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: STRIMA has a two-piece fully composite design. The barrel and handle are both composite.
