Description

New for It's time to step your game up to the NeXT level. The Miken NXT Freak is the bat that's going to take you there. By combining the most advanced layering handle system on the market with Miken's new HBF Technology, the NXT Freak is clearly a cut above the competition. HBF, or Hyperbolic Barrel Flex, Technology allows the multi-layer walls of the NXT Freak to become "fully released" for hot out of the wrapper performance! The proprietary layering of these walls extends the barrel flex to produce a 20% larger sweetspot. Vortex Handle Technology also uses multiple layers, and harnesses the power of composite braids to distribute the load evenly and increase the bat's strength. This also helps all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex and performance. The whole bat is made from Miken's classic R900 Composite that has proven year after year that it is capable of enduring grueling play and delivering unrivaled performance. Enhancing the NXT Freak's durability even further is Miken's proprietary Durashell Technology (DST). DST acts as a composite shield on the outer shell to maximize out of the wrapper performance and overall bat longevity. An Extreme X-Tack Grip finishes off the NXT Freak to give players the comfort and tack they would expect from a bat this phenomenal. Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The NXT Freak is approved for play in USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

MATMAN

Pros: I picked up this bat and the orange resmondo. The ressy is definately better out of the wrapper but this bat quickly catches up to it. After about 200 hits this bat is as good or maybe better because of the extra endload. great feel and hammers the ball with big sweet spot. This is definately one of the top 3 bats I have ever hit with the ultra II included.

Cons: none yet

Rick

Pros: This bat is no joke! Very little break in time, if any. I have about 40 hits off my bat and the ball flying. Trust me, you will not regret this bat, it's well worth the price tag.

Cons: nothing so far

Got ripped

Pros: This bat i so stiff and unless its a ZN nothing comes off it well. I have about 150 swings on it and shows no sign of breaking in. I have played for over 20+ years competitively on A/B teams and believe me it stinks. So as for PROS None to tell about.....maybe the look....

Cons: Everything.......but the looks.....save your money.....I bought it at 299 and now its 249 for a reason....Its a Dog......

Buying a Stealth

Pros: Bat looks good, other than that nothing really special. Hits decent knuckling line drives, but not a lot of deep threat out of it.

Cons: Has about 100 swings on it and is not really broken in. Selling it to buy the new Stealth my teammate has. Not very impressed with my first Miken purchase.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken NXT Freak Maxload USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SNXTMU? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

what is the difference in the maxload and supermaxload james
They refer to the same end load design.
Shelbe
Does the maxload feature make the bat less durable compared to the balanced weight? Earthworm
It does not. The maxload feature just means it will have a more endloaded swing weight. This bat will be just as durable as the balanced weight, but it will feel end heavy instead of balanced.
Jennifer
Is this bat legal for use in 2012? Bob
This bat features the new USSSA stamp, so it is not only legal for use in 2012, but it will also be legal in 2013 and beyond.
Jennifer
I really liked the Freak Plus. Does this bat swing like it? AJ
The Freak Plus and the Freak Maxload are both end loaded and will have a similar swing.
KB
How does this bat compare with the miken MSU2M Maxload? Rj
The MSU2M is a Senior Softball bat that exceeds even USSSA performance standards. Because of this, the MSU2M will be a higher performing bat compared to the NXT Freak. The SNXTMU is one of the hottest USSSA bats on the market though, and if you play under USSSA rules, then it's a great choice. The MSU2M is not USSSA certified.
Tyler
What's the biggest difference in the Maxload over the balanced bat? I am a good line drive hitter but does have okay power. Which of the two would you say would work the best for me? sjc
The MaxLoad will have more weight at the end of the barrel. End-loaded bats are best suited for a player with lots of power.
Kara
Do you generally recommend this model or the SNXTMA? I am more of a base hit guy than the long ball kind of player. I own the bass Mandingo and love it. Obviously I play with many power hitters. Which would you recommend? Justin
That depends on if you play under USSSA or ASA rules. The SNXTMU is a USSSA bat that is non-ASA approved. I would recommend the SNXTMU for a player in a USSSA league. The SNXTMA is an ASA approved bat. I would recommend the SNXTMA for a player in an ASA league. Both are endloaded bats great for power hitters.
Tyler
What is the difference in this bat and the Miken Freak Plus? Jacoby

Is this bat single wall or double wall? TJ
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak Maxload USSSA: SNXTMU Slow Pitch bat is technically a multi-wall bat. The walls are made of multiple layers of composite material.
Nick D
Is this bat end loaded a full oz or .5 ounce? Jacob
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak Maxload USSSA: SNXTMU Slow Pitch will be closer to a full ounce end load.
Zach
What is the difference between the Supermax and the Balanced NXT? It needs to be ASA and USSSSA approved. I am a female so don't have the strength males do. Do you recommend one over the other? jane
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak Maxload USSSA is non-ASA approved and will have more weight at the end of the barrel, better for power hitters. We recommend the 2013 Miken NXT Freak Balanced ASA: SNXTBA Slow Pitch bat better suited for female players.
Kara
I have used a Max Load NRG 600 34/28oz Loved it. Will this bat be the same weight or will it be heavier? Should I get a 28oz or go with a 27oz? saviorcrash
The Maxload model of the NXT Freak will have the same feel as the Maxload NRG you had. I recommend sticking with a 28 oz model.
Tyler
I currently own a Miken NRG 600 34/26 Maxload and a Easton Trizone 34/27 balanced and I find that I keep returning back to the Miken because of the weight and feel of the bat. Will this hit much the same as the NRG or will it be even better? cn23
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak Maxload will have upgraded composite materials and great pop as well and being end loaded. It will most likely have some more pop than the Miken NRG Maxload.
Damon
What is the biggest difference in the new legal bats for 2013 and on and the old bats you could use before 2012? Yuhhhhh
If you are referring to the new USSSA stamp, then all the new bats have the new stamp, whereas all the older bats do not have the new USSSA stamp. This is the only difference.
Tyler
I have a Miken Super Freak Maxload 2013. How does this compare? Andrew
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak Maxload USSSA uses new Vortex technology in the handle for increased durability and performance.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
