Pros: My son was disappointed when LL outlawed his Freak bat 2 years ago. This NXT Freak bat is even better than the Original. Great Pop. Very cool color scheme. He's having a lot of fun breaking it in!!

Cons: Some people may not like the color, but everyone knows when he's up to bat!

Pros: This bat has amazing pop! Sweetspot is like a trampolene. Well balanced and nice barrel size. 9 year old hits really nice line shots with it and even a home run in batting practice.

Cons: we are working on the third bat, exact same model. My son is 09 year old and swings hard. The first two that we had broke at the handle because he was hitting right off the end cap. Thanks to Miken for honoring the warrenty! Hope this one don't break because the barrel performance is unmistakable.

Pros: This bat was pretty good from day one. Now that it has several BP sessions and games under the belt, it is better. The sweetspot seems to be getting bigger, and the pop is really impressive.

Cons: Durability may be a concern, but so far so good.

Pros: Very Balanced. My son likes his Combat B4 a little better but he hits harder with the Freak. Swings easily. Have not experienced the paint issues that others have described.

Cons: Sweet spot smaller (but harder) than Combat B4. A little vibration when hit down towards handle. From sweet spot to cap end of the bat this is a very solid bat.

Pros: Awesome bat. My 6y/o in coach pitch is just slamming it. He's sending it in the air on average 150'. Lots of pop even out of wrapper. I can't wait to see it broken in.

Cons: It's really bright, and white grip tape gets brown fast.

My son loves his Miken Heat, (30/18) but I fear he has out grown it. He is 11 years old 5' and 100 lbs. Is this a good next bat or would the Easton S or XL series be better choice? Thanks. Coach Rey

I always recommend sticking with what the player knows and is comfortable with. If he is been using the Heat with success, I absolutely think the NXT would be a great choice.
