When will the 2013 bats be featured in "Bat Packs", such as the Marucci Elite?
The 2013 bats will be put into bat packs when a newer model comes out. Since the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult is so popular it will be awhile before you see it in a pack.
Is it a composite barrel or alloy? It said that it was both, but how does that make sense? Does it feel more like an alloy bat or composite bat?
The Marucci Elite BBCOR sounds more like a Alloy bat. It has technology that fuses both alloy and composite to create a faster swing. It is a really unique bat and would have the pop of a composite barrel product.
My 15 year old, 6' 2" and 175 lbs. son has been swinging a Black 32" for about a year. He has plenty of bat speed as a line drive, gap hitter. He is thinking about getting a 33" bat and that is the size your seem to recommend. Should he stick with the Black or switch to the Elite? If there is little difference, I will choose to save the $100.
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult and the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult are both hybrid designs with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Elite replaces the last few inches of the alloy barrel with composite, taking out some of the "dead" weight to make it more balanced, allowing the player to increase bat speed. We recommend a 33" for a player his size and age.
