Description

New for There's a good chance that if you're only exposure to bats is through slow pitch softball, you may not have heard about the HOTTEST new series of bats sweeping through the ranks of baseball. The Easton POWER BRIGADE was created with one thing in mind: Increasing a player's POWER! Easton understands that power is not achieved the same way for every player. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into the Speed Series and XL Series. Speed Series bats feature an evenly balanced swing weight for players that aren't quite as strong. This allows them to maximize their swing speed and, consequently, produce more power with each swing. The XL Series on the other hand, features a slightly end-loaded swing weight so that stronger players can get more mass and momentum behind each swing... lso resulting in more power. The XL2 features a one-piece Single System Composite Design for increased bat control. The 12" barrel on the XL2 is constructed from Easton's IMX Composite that optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance. Isn't it time you started MAXIMIZING YOUR POWER? Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL2 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Six (6) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Good right out of the packaging. Single, double and 2 Homers in first game. Manufacters 6 month warranty a plus! 26oz bat but feels like a 27. Not too heavyu for line-drive hitters. HAs good power too!

Cons: Does not come with 33in option through Just Bats. Just 34oz. No option for length just weight.

Pros: The color is perfect being a Steelers fan. Also the bat is lite weight thus improving my muscle memory with hitting the ball. Im a stocky guy who appreciates the slight endload.

Cons: None thus far..

Pros: Awesome grip, feel and results from bat so far. The end loading of the bat feels good on the swing. Had people asking if my bat was doctored after having 9 RBI's last game with 3 homeruns in cold weather...the ball just flies off the bat. Very satisfied with it so far.

Cons: None so far, I can see everyone wanting to use it as a team bat in the future though. Not the bats fault though.

Pros: I hit the ball further with this bat than any other bat I have ever swung. Great feel, great endload for easy swings.

Cons: The reason I gave it 4 stars is because after 30 swings it started to spiral web looking like cracks pretty badly. After about 500 swings it completely cracked through and broke. I sent it back to Easton yesterday to get my replacement. 6 month warranty is awfully short if they are gonna break this soon.

Cons: The temperature that it has to be to use my bat can u have a cold temp bat but not loose the feel and production on the field can't wait to use it though I'm excited for 2013 season

Pros: This bat was hot right out of the wrapper. Hitting bombs! but...

Cons: Started to Web after 20 cuts, end cap broke off after about 50 swings on it, six month warranty. A bunch of my softball buddies also have this bat and experienced the same. Very weak end cap!

Pros: Purchased 4 weeks ago and it was hot right from the start. After several practices and games it remains just as hot if not a little better.

Cons: the only down side is the Steelers colors

Pros: Great grip and feel. Break-in time was minimal.

Cons: This is my 2nd Easton bat and last. The end cap broke on the 1st bat after one game and something broke off on the inside of this one and just rattles around and that was only after about 75 swings. Don't even want a replacement, just want my money back or a credit from Easton.

Pros: Very nice end loaded bat...swings easy. Love that they kept the grip from last years class. Nice pop with the bat (Review is based upon 34/26oz hitting 44/375)

Cons: Spiral webbing after ~100 hits. 6 month warranty after Easton's notoriously good warranty of 400 days stinks. Bats are "repaints" from previous year models (no factual proof).

XOXO

Pros: Love, Love, Love this bat! First, it barely scuffs and if it does I'm not sure how this works but it wipes off?!? I am not a home run hitter what so ever and this bat has me batting over 700. Being a woman at 125 lbs., I am hitting consistent line drives with an occasional 320 ft. bomb. For the price you can't beat it! Requires very little break-in, maybe a dozen hits and your good to go. (34" 26 oz.)

Cons: Wish it came in a different color.

Pros: Love this bat. Normally a singles hitter, but right out of the bat launched 1st hit to the fence. This bat took didn't take any time to break in. My team mates all started using this bat with 4 going yard the 1st game. This bat has lots of pop and performs very well. So far it's the team favorite.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Have had the bat for two weeks now, about 100 hits on it. It was good out of the wrapper but now is sending ball over the fence 300+. It has a great feel too, it says end loaded but you can't feel it, which I love about it, it Feels great.

Cons: Looks like a banana.

Pros: This bat is sick. Red hot out of the wrapper no break in time needed at all with this one.

Cons: After two months with minimal use the bat has a crack in it already. I am a little disappointed may have to go back to Mizuno Blackout. 6 month warranty is to short as well. I will send it in for a replacement.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP13X2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does the XL2 compare to the Salvo Comp 100 SP12SV100? Dave
The 2013 Easton XL2 is going to be a one-piece composite bat with an end loaded feel. It is going to be the ideal bat for a power hitter. The 2013 Easton Salvo Comp 100 is going to be a two-piece bat with an end loaded feel, but is going to be geared a little more toward a contact hitter because of its two-piece design allowing the barrel to flex. As far as performance, both bats will be high performing models.
Noah
What is the difference between a one-piece and two-piece composite bat? Any more power? This would be for slow pitch softball. marko
A one-piece bat is usually preferred by a power hitter. A two-piece bat will have flex when you swing to increase bat speed. The Easton XL2 is a one-piece composite and is slightly end loaded. An end loaded bat is also good for a power hitter.
Damon
ASA Approved..old specs or new? Ron
The SP13X2 does have the new ASA stamp.
Patrick
trying to decide between the 2013 easton XL2 and the 2013 easton S2.I am more of a contact hitter with decent power for the gaps. Which bat would you recomend? Any big differences? Moe
The XL2 is endloaded and best for a hitter that has above average strength and swing speed. The S2 is well balanced and best for a hitter that has average to below average strength and swing speed.
Tyler
How does the XL2 compare to the 2011 Synergy SRVBH? Are there ant new bats that Easton makes that would be comparable to the SRV? Dave
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch bat was made to replace the Synergy. It will have similar feel and performance compared to the SRVBH.
Tyler
Does anyone know if Easton is coming out with a new Salvo this year? If so does anyone know the release date? Mike
Easton will not be releasing any more Salvo bats for this year.
Tyler
Which is better the XL2 or the S2? As well as are there any other bats like the stealth? Davis
Both the Easton XL2 and the S2 are great bats. The only real difference is that the XL2 is slightly endloaded. The Easton S1 would be like the Stealth.
Chad M.
I currently have the Easton Salvo SRV5 slow pitch bat and looking for something equivalent. Would this be the bat? Mike G
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch will be the closest equivalent to your Salvo.
Kevin
Is this XL2 comparable to a Synergy in the way the ball comes off the bat? I am looking for that type of feel rather than the Stealth feel. Guerty
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch is the spiritual successor to the Synergy.
Kevin
Is this a 1 or 2 oz. end-load? aircuellar
The 2013 Easton XL2 has a slight end-load. It would be a .5 oz.
Chad M.
Which is a better choice the XL2 SP13X2 or Miken Ultra Soulta For Power hitting? Pete
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch is going to be the best for a power hitter because of the full end loaded design of the bat.
Noah
I'm a power hitter, how does the Easton XL2 compare to the L6.0. Other than the end load weighting? Performance, technology, etc.? Dubster
2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch has the same technology as the 2014 Easton L6.0. The extra end load on the 2014 Easton L6.0 would add pop because of the added weight.
Chad M.
I just had to trade my Salvo in for the new XL2 under warranty. I loved that bat but it didn't last me long before it broke. I'm nervous the same thing will happen with this one. Has anything changed with the way the bats made that it will last a few years? I worry about the 6 month warranty. ballergirl
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 has average to slightly above average durability based on our return numbers. There have been no glaring durability or manufacturing issues with this bat.
Tyler
Given that the Easton is end-loaded, what weight would you recommend I purchase given that I'm used to swinging a 30 oz.? Mike
The 28 oz. weight of the 2013 Easton XL2 would probably work best. It would feel the closest to the 30 oz. that you normally use.
Derek
How does the XL2 hold up in the colder weather? Dylan
We do not recommend using any bat, including the 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch, in temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. At those temperatures, the balls become much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of the bat.
Mac
Is it NSA approved? Brian
The 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch bat features the NSA 2012 stamp and is currently listed on the NSA Approved Bat list: http://www.playnsa.com/ApprovedBat.aspx
Mac
I am looking to purchase a bat for my 8 year old niece. She is in her first year of slow pitch softball and she weighs 98 lbs. and is 4' 6" tall, what do you recommend? Thanks. Scott
Due to her age and size a 31" bat length is recommended. She would need to be searching for bats in the fastpitch category, not slow pitch. Try this model: Worth Lithium Storm HyperLite: FPST13 Fastpitch. It will be very balanced and light in swing weight.
Brandon
Will this perform better with what type of COR. Balls .47, .44, .50, .52? AM
All of the 2013 and 2014 bats like the 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch bat will hit best against the .52 COR balls.
Brandon
I've been using this bat for a few seasons, and recently noticed the plastic end cap has a crack in it. It doesn't seem to be affecting it at all, but is it something I need to be concerned with? If so, is there any way to fix or repair it? SS
If the end cap on the Easton XL2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP13X2) is damaged you may want to contact Easton directly to see what repair options are available to you. If it has not come off the bat or caused any problems in terms of performance, it may not be an issue that needs immediate attention but if it gets worse you will want to try to get it replaced or fixed.
