Description

New for The Half and Half bat that put DeMarini on the map returns this season and it's as mean as ever! Players have been crushing the ball for years with their DeMarini Vexxum due to its heavy-hitting, high-quality design. The Vexxum's power starts with the C6 Composite handle that has a wider weave and stiff feel for the powerful feel you desire while still maintaining a light swing weight. Joined to the C6 handle is an aluminum barrel constructed from DeMarini's new X10 Alloy. X10 features a proprietary blend of alloy agents and is finely tuned to give the Vexxum the thinnest, lightest, and strongest barrel walls possible. Its Longbarrel design gives the Vexxum the largest possible hitting surface so that players can do the maximum amount of damage swinging the bat. The sweetspot on the X10 Alloy Longbarrel is enhanced through the use of Half and Half technology that provides a burst of ball-launching energy every time contact is made. The end result of this design is MAD POP. The Vexxum is topped off with an N2M End Cap that is scientifically tuned to absorb vibration so that players can swing away and never be slowed down. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Vexxum features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play in and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Bought new 2013 Vexxum 29/19 last night and today fresh out of the wrapper with only 5 or 6 BP swings... my 9yr son hit his first HOMERUN over left centerfield with his 10U travel team and hit another rocket shot off of the yellow line top of the fence centerfield..he almost had 2HRs in two games today. Great pop and solid line drive shots, over half of the whole team was using the bat today and the balls were flying all over the field. Thanks DeMarini as you say the Vexxum is the "Original Gangster" the OG of G.O.N.E. My son has been quoting that to his mom and teammates after the games today. His goal this year was to hit a HR and the Vexxum help him accomplish that.

Cons: none go get this bat!

Pros: My son had the Easton sv12, which he really liked. We went with the Vexxum, because the sv12 handle split on the side and there is no comparison. He hit with both this year and he is hitting it with much more pop with the vexxum. He with out a doubt likes the vexxum more.

Cons: Only used for a couple of tournaments and nothing bad to say yet.

Pros: This bat is awesome, I use the 33 -5 for myself in adult league, my 10yr old uses the 30-20 he is on the bigger side, 100lbs and very strong. Crushing balls with it.

Cons: Bat is end weighted. My 12 year old doesn't like it, he uses the EXO grid because it's more balanced. This bat is for a strong swinger. My opinion.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Vexxum -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVXR? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat BBCOR? Can I use it in Juniors? Brian
This bat is not BBCOR approved. Only adult -3 bats will have that certification. Since this bat has an alloy barrel, it is legal for play in Junior leagues.
Jennifer
if i get the bat today will it come tommorow jaysmooth
If you purchase the bat today, it will ship on Monday. I would need to know where exactly it was shipping, to give you a more exact idea of when you would receive the bat. We ship everything out free ground UPS, unless you expidite shipping with our Fed Ex option.
Derek
Is this end loaded or more equally weighted? KC Dad
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum is going to be slightly end loaded. It will be end loaded because the handle is made of composite and the barrel is made of alloy. Therefore, the bat will have more weight on the barrel.
Nick
My son has a 29" 20oz Voodoo that weighs in at 22.3oz. He also has a Distance that we got for bp and thought it would be a little heavier since it is a -8 but it only weighs 21.3oz. The Voodoo is a little to heavy for him right now can you tell me what the 2013 29" Vexxum really weighs? I also wonder if it is as end loaded as the Voodoo? What bat other then this would you recommend in a 29" 19oz. for a kid with a perfect swing ;) Thanks - love the bats. batman
The 29" 2013 DeMarini Vexxum weighs 19.84 oz. The Vexxum is slightly end loaded like the Voodoo but has a little more flex.
Kara
Does this bat need to be broken in? If it does how do I break it in? ruffinator
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum does not require a break in period.
Kara
What do you consider a better bat, the new 2013 Vexxum or CF5? Dman
Both are great bats, but designed differently. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite barrel. It is slightly end loaded. The CF5 is a two piece all composite, balanced bat.
Kara
What has more pop? The 2012 Vexxum, 2013 Vexxum, or the 2012 Voodoo? Hunter
All three have excellent pop. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum uses the newest alloy technology and will have more flex than the 2012 Vexxum and 2012 Voodoo.
Kara
Which bat is better? The DeMarini Vexxum better than the 2013 Voodoo? jonathan
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is the model higher than the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum. The Voodoo uses upgraded materials for improved performance and durability.
Nick
I bought the Vexxum at a tournament and it didn't have ths USSSA stamp on it what do i do? Pepi
You can either contact the individuals who sold the bat to you, or, you can contact DeMarini at 1-800-937-2287 and they may be able to do something for you.
Tyler
What does bpf mean. Does it make the ball go further or shorter than a regular bat or stay the same. Jonny
BPF stands for "Bat Performance Factor". This is just a test that is performed on all bats to ensure they don't exceed the set performance standards. This is something that's been in place for a while, and performance won't be effected.
Tyler
Is the Vexxum or M2M more suited for contact hitters with good bat speed? Ajay
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum would be more suited for a contact hitter with good bat speed.
Kara
Does this bat have more power than the 2012 Vexxum? Also, does an endloaded bat take time getting used to if you have used balanced bats your whole life? First timer
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum uses upgraded materials for added performance and increased durability compared to the 2012 model. If you are used to swinging a balanced bat, then it will take some time to get used to an end loaded bat.
Nick K.
Does this bat have any improvements or changes from the 2012 model? Bhoot
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR features the new X10 alloy barrel. Here is a link to further compare the two models. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
If I don't like it can I send it back? baba
All of our bats come with a free merchandise return label. We take back any unused bats. Any bats that have been used can't be returned to us. Here is a link to our return policy. http://www.justbats.com/customer-service/warranties-returns/
Tom
Does this bat have flex and is it evenly weighted? jbelf
Yes, because the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is a two-piece bat it will have flex. It has an even weight distribution.
Tom
My son had a Combat 52 Caliber last year and I'm getting him a DeMarini 2013 Vexxum. Would there be a weighted difference since I believe his is composite and this is composite/alloy. DBrown
The COMBAT 52 Caliber and DeMarini Vexxum have similar balance... Assuming you're comparing the same weight between the two, weight and balance will be similar.
Tyler
Can the Vexxum be used in the batting cages using those yellow balls? Rick
The yellow dimple balls are more dense than a regular baseball, which can do damage to the DeMarini Vexxum. I would recommend using leather baseballs for batting practice.
Nick K.
Whats more balenced the vexxum or the vodoo? orldream
The Vexxum will have a more balanced feel compared to the Voodoo.
Tyler
Does the 2013 Vexxum have similar grip as previous models? (hybrid c grip?) Roy
The 2013 Vexxum has the same grip as the 2011 and 2012 models.
Tyler
are there suppose to be any changes in bat requirements for USAAA in 2013 or can I safely purchase this bat now? CDH
USSSA will not be changing their rules for 2013. If a bat has the new USSSA stamp, it will be legal in 2013 for USSSA.
Tyler
Will this bat be legal for 2013 USSSA? Smh
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp.
Damon
I play 12u and im fast and a contact hitter would this be a good bat for me? Aaubaseball
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is a great bat with very good pop. It's a balanced bat and would be a great option for you.
Tyler
Is this big barrel? Me
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is a big barrel bat. Any time you see "Senior League" in a product's name, that means it's a big barrel bat.
Tyler
Is it end heavy? like a boss
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum is an end loaded bat.
Kara
if it is cold outside and i use it will it hurt the bat? kyle
All bats are more likely to damage when it's colder than about 55 degrees. Just be sure to limit how much you use your bat when it's colder than that outside.
Tyler
Hi i was comparing this bat with the nxt freak My son is 11 4 "10 98lbs strong hitter with power. which bat is more balanced? 30/20 tHanks John
The Miken NXT Freak will be a little more balanced compared to the 2013 Vexxum.
Tyler
My son is an 11yr 90 lb first year in travel ball player. We are looking at this Vexxum 31/21 and the CF5 & the Voodoo. He is more of a contact hitter whats the differences in these bats and which one do you recommend for him. Joey
The DeMarini Voodoo is not offered in a 31" 21oz. model so if that is the particular size you were looking for you can eliminate that from your list. The DeMarini Vexxum has a composite handle and aluminum barrel and is slightly end loaded, whereas the 2013 DeMarini CF5 is fully composite and the weight is more evenly distributed.
Tom
My son is a bit undersized (4ft 3in and 55 lbs and just turned 9) and is looking for his first senior league bat to add some pop and distance. Average swing speed and looking at the 29/19 model. Can't use full composite bats in his league -- Is this a good size, and and should he look at composite handle or full alloy? Chris
Based on his height and weight, a 28 or 29 inch bat with a weight between 18 and 19 ounces is most common. A young player, around 9 years old, won't notice the minor differences between a two-piece hybrid bat and a one-piece alloy bat. A two-piece hybrid bat like the Vexxum is a great option, as these types of bats often offer a little more vibration reduction.
Tyler
Is this bat top heavy or is it like the Easton S1 or in between? Aaubaseball
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum is going to be slightly end loaded.
Nick
I am 5'0" and 77 pounds. I'm fast and I go for line drives and I'm going to get a 31" 21 oz. Should I get this bat? Aaubaseball
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum would be a good choice. It will be slightly end loaded though. If you were looking for a balanced bat, then I would look at the DeMarini CF5.
Nick
Do you know of a bat that is like this bat and swings like it? Aaubaseball
A few similar bats to the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR from different manufacturers would be the Nike MC2 and Easton S2.
Tyler
My son is 4 feet 9 inches tall. He is 13 and wants the 2013 Vexxum. He's in Pony League and travel ball. Would this bat in a 31/21 -10 be good for him? kazman14
A lot comes down to his weight as well. I recommend our Bat Coach. It's a great tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
I ordered this bat on Sunday and I got free shipping when will this bat come in? Aaubaseball
If you ordered the bat on Sunday it would have shipped out on Monday. Our free shipping is guaranteed within 5 business days.
Tom
Will this bat be back in stock with the 32/22 ratio? Warrior hitter
Yes, we will be getting more of the 32" 22 oz. DeMarini Vexxum's in stock very shortly.
Tom
I am 5 foot 80 lbs. with normal bat speed. Would this or a Voodoo be better 4 me to hit with more power ? schmidty24
The DeMarini Vexxum has a slightly lighter swing weight, so if you're swing speed is just average, that would be my recommendation.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for play in Pony? Chris
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum is approved in Pony League.
Kara
Does this or a Easton S2 have a lighter swing weight? shya
The Easton S2 will have a slightly lighter swing weight compared to the DeMarini Vexxum.
Tyler
When will demarinis new line come out? boss
DeMarini's 2013 line has already been released. A release date for their 2014 line has not been set.
Tyler
is the vexxum end loaded or balanced. What is biggest difference between end loaded and balanced. jp
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is a pretty balanced bat, but due to it's long barrel design, some say it has just a slightly end-loaded feel. End-loaded bats are bats that are top heavy with more of the weight distributed towards the end of the barrel. Balanced bats are bats that have more evenly distributed weight throughout the entire bat.
Tyler
Is the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum any different in performance from the 2012 Vexxum? I'm trying to decide which one to get for my son. rv
The 2013 and 2012 DeMarini Vexxum models will be very similar in performance. The 2013 model uses X10 alloy compared to the SC4 alloy used in the 2012 model.
Aubrey
Is the DeMarini Vexxum better than the Combat B4 th wis
Both are good bats. The COMBAT B4 is a one piece composite so will have more pop as you break it in, whereas the DeMarini Vexxum is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel.
Damon
Senior League bats are like big barrel bats right? big papi
All Senior League/Youth Big Barrel bats are Big Barrel bats. They will have a 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" Barrel Diameters. They will have a -10 to a -5 drop range. These bats need to have a USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification to be legal.
Brandon
MY SON USES A 27 INCH BAT, 17.5 OZ WITH NO PROBLEM. THE SMALLEST THIS BAT THAT I WANT TO GET COMES IN IS 28" 18 OZ. WILL THAT EFFECT HIM? JESSICA
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat will be very balanced in swing weight. This will help your son if he is upping the true bat weight by 1/2 an ounce. That actually isn't a very big jump in swing weight. I would assume he would still be able to swing the bat easily. But the extra inch added to the length of the bat may take some getting used to. If he has ever had trouble reaching the outer half or third of the plate, that extra inch will come in very handy. He should be able to transition from his old bat to this new one with out any problems.
Brandon
Is this bat legal for little league play? Jim
That depends on the division you play in within Little League. I recommended visiting www.littleleague.org for official rules.
Tyler
My son is 11 1/2 and is 108 lbs. He is joining his first travel team. His current bat is an Easton Omen-12(30-18). He has what I call a slow swing. Coach recommends a big barrel-10 bat. Which bat would you recommend that won't feel like it's a few ounces heavier? He'd like a DeMarini bat and I am considering the 2013 Vexxum and 2013 cf5. Big barrel with-10 ratio. con
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is an end loaded bat and is better for a player with some power. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is more balanced and would be better suited for a player with a slower swing speed.
Kara
Is this bat approved for 13U Babe Ruth? con
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat will have the new updated USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp located on the barrel. It will be legal.
Brandon
My son is 13 yr old, 5'5" and 125 lbs. Last year he used a Vexxum 30/20, but would like to move up this year. Is a -5 too much of a jump, or should he stay with a -10 and just go with a longer 32/22 bat ? Matt
A -10 bat isn't recommend for a 13 year old. Reason being, before too long he'll have to start using a -3 bat for High School. A -5 or -8 bat would be recommended, and would provide for a much easier transition for when he has to start using a -3 bat. I would find some -5 bats locally and have him take some dry swings with them to get an idea of how they feel.
Tyler
Dear BW: my son is 13 1/2 years old. He weighs approximately 150 lbs. and is about 55 1/2" tall. He is not overweight, he will be playing 13 u travel ball this season. He has average bat speed I read an earlier post you had for another customer stating that this bat may be too much of a drop, seeing that next year 2014 he will be going into high school (-3 drop). Would you recommend the Vexxum? If not, what would be a good choice? Once again, he would only be using this bat for the 2013 season. Thank you in advance! dan kaz
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat will be -10 in length to weight ratio. This size is typically, used around age 8-10 years old. As a 13 year old I would recommend this bat: DeMarini Vexxum: DXVX5 Senior League. It will be a -5 length to weight ratio. This will suit him better at his age.
Brandon
My son is moving up from a Combat B4 30/18 2 1/4" Barrel this year to a 2 5/8" Barrel bat. I have pretty much narrowed our search down to the 2013 Demarini Vexxum DXVXR 30/20 and the 2013 Easton S3 30/20. My question is which one of these bats would be the most like the combat B4. The combat b4 seems like a very balanced bat and he is more of a power hitter than a contact hitter. davew72
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. The S3 is more balanced than the Vexxum and is also a one-piece bat like the COMBAT B4. That would be my recommendation.
Tyler
Is it BBCOR? Gloria
No, the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat is USSSA approved. If you need a BBCOR version, go with this bat: 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC Adult.
Brandon
my son has been using the easton XL1 29" 19oz. with a end load he wants to go to a big barrel bat would this be a good bat? matt
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is a very popular big barrel bat with above average performance.

My son is 10 yrs old, 85 lbs and currently uses a 2012 Voodoo 30/18. He is playing AAU this year and is allowed to use a big barrel bat. Would this bat be comparable in feel to the Voodoo or would you suggest a different bat? Mark
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum would be a great choice if you wanted a comparable bat to the DeMarini Voodoo. I would also suggest going with the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo. The difference between these bats will be the specific composite materials used in the handles.

Last year (11u), my son used a 29/19, 2 5/8" I think, it was a DeMarini. He was 70 lbs, not overly strong, but the bat worked well. His hitting coach suggested a minimum of a 31/21 this year, he hasn't grown that much in height/weight, but several baseball people said his former bat was too light. I'm looking at the DeMarini Vexxum DXVXR 31/21 2 5/8". His hitting lessons off season have been with a 31/21, not sure the width. Does this sound like a good size? He's not a power hitter, he's struggled some, but with lots of hitting lessons, has gotten much better. Thoughts on length, weight, barrel width? Chris
Well, his hitting coach is going to know best, as he is in the best position to analyze your sons swing and offer the best size recommendation. It's 100% natural and recommended a player move up 1-3 ounces with every new bat, and if he had good swing speed and bat control with his 19 oz. bat last year, he should be just fine moving up to a 21 oz. model.

How does the Vexxum compare to the Voodoo? Smittyre
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat be created like the DeMarini Voodoo. Both will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Voodoo will have a more barrel heavy feel to the swing weight. It will be end loaded. The Vexxum will be slightly more balanced.

My son is 12 yrs old 4' 6" tall, 75 lbs. I was going to purchase him a new bat this year and was wondering which bat would be better suited for him. I am looking at the 2013 Vexxum -10 28" 18 oz. and 2013 CF5 -10 29" 19 oz. He is small for his age and does not generate a lot of bat speed and is a contact hitter. Just looking for bat that will give him a little help, thanks. Eric
The 28" 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR is the right size for your son. However, he might be better served by the 2013 DeMarini CF5's two-piece all composite construction.

I have strong 7 year old 4' 5" son, I thinking about buying the COMbat Portent or the COMbat Pure. That was until I read on the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum not sure which is better for him. He is a power hitter which one would you advise and what size? I was thinking 28" 18 oz. al
Giving his height and since he will is growing we suggest a 29" 19 oz. bat. I like that both the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum and the COMBAT Pure have a huge sweet spot on the barrel. The best material is the COMBAT B4 Portent. It is a One-Piece composite bat with new technology that make it hot right out of the wrapper. But for the price you can't bet the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum.

Is this bat BBCOR certified? Mike
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is not BBCOR certified since it is a Senior League Bat. BBCOR certified bats are all approved for high school and college play. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC Adult is the BBCOR model this bat.

My son is 7 and a half years old, 55 inches and 85 lbs. I don't know anything about baseball and was directed to this site by his coach, he's currently using a 28" $20 bat from Walmart and does pretty well but it's too short. What would you recommend to purchase? He can use a big barrel bat. Tisha
The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: Senior League is a great bat, and for the price it can't be beat. With your son's height and weight given we suggest a 29" bat.

My son is 12, he is 4'8" and weighs 85 lbs. he is playing in two different travel leagues this year. One allows a 2 1/4" barrel and the other a 2 5/8" barrel. He has been using a 2 1/4" 29" 20 oz. bat for over a year. I am looking to purchase two bats. He will see much faster pitching in the league that uses the 2 5/8" barrel bat. Any suggestions? Mark
For the league that allows a 2 5/8" barrel, the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League would be a great fit. For the league that uses a 2 1/4" barrel I would consider the Anderson TechZilla XP: KTXP Youth.

Is there any difference between this bat and the 2014 Senior League Vexxum? Riddler
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League will be more balanced than the previous DeMarini Vexxums. The 2014 Vexxum is actually DeMarinis most balanced bat.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
