With the proper care, it could last through high school. It is a one piece all alloy, and they used the MeC-30 Max Energy Collision alloy, which is very durable.

I would suggest getting the 31/28 for that size. A 32" may be too heavy and slow his swing down.

How is this bat compared to the black DeMarini Voodoo? Terence
The Nike Aero Thunder Fuse is a one piece alloy design, which is going to be pretty stiff and usually preferred by power hitters. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Two piece bats are usually preferred by contact hitters because of the flex that causes a whip like effect that helps their hits. Since they both have alloy barrels, the "pop" is going to be pretty similar on both bats. It basically comes down to if you prefer a two or one piece bat, but both are great choices and you can't really go wrong with either.

A good length for that size of player will be 32"-33". The 33" will give you more room to grow and move coverage over the plate. Try also using our Bat Coach listed at the top of the page.

This is an Adult -3 BBCOR bat. Rules vary by league, but if they can use a -3 Adult bat, this will work. If you want a traditional Senior League bat, you should look in our "Youth Big Barrel" section

Based on your height and weight, it looks like the 32" would be a good size for you. When it comes to sizing a bat, it comes down to what you are comfortable swinging. While the 32" suggestion is recommended for your size, if you feel comfortable swinging a longer bat then I say go for it!

Based on what we have heard from customers, this bat does have really good pop. As far as how long it will last, it is hard to say. Bat's don't come with a predetermined life span and there are a lot of factors that go into the life of the bat (how many people use it, proper care, etc). However, we have not heard of any durability issues with this bat. We are supposed to receive more 32" bats in stock, and once we do that size will be listed on the website again for you to choose.

Unfortunately, the Nike Aero Thunder Fuse BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBATF Black is a one-piece alloy bat and it does not feature any added vibration reduction technology. If you want better sting prevention a two-piece bat would be the best option. This is also an older model that is not being produced anymore and we no longer have this bat in stock.
