2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Vertex: SL12VXL Senior League |
Average Customer Review
This bat is great. My 10yd old was using the Prodigy and was hitting balls 200+ feet. He used his friends Vertex in the cage and I was so amazed. He got one for his birthday, now he is hitting ball 225+. I would highly recommend this bat!
The white grip will get stained but other than that, no problems.

Ask A QuestionMy son is 11 years old, 55 inches and 71 pounds, he is using a Demarini Voodoo 30 inch 17 ounces for Little League and travel ball. We are looking at the Vertex Senior League -9.5 for travel ball and am not sure if he needs a 28 or 29 inch bat. He is a contact hitter (righty) with most hits to center or right.
I would suggest only moving him up an ounce and a half in weight. Meaning the 28" 18.5oz. It's hard to suggest making him go down 2inch in length to make up for the weight ratio.
My son plays USSSA, you say this bat is legal for 2012, but what about 2013?
The SL12VXL has the new USSSA stamp. It will be legal in 2012, 2013 and beyond.
Hi, I just ordered this bat for my son in a 29/19.5. He is playing 9U Select and is 59 lbs 4'6" tall. He has been swinging a 28/18 Easton Cyclone (2 1/4) bat comfortably, but not getting the pop on the ball. Will the 1.5 ounces be too much of a transition right away?
Moving up an ounce is recommended from year to year. This helps make the player stronger and gives them a little more power due to the added weight behind the ball. The more practice he has, the quicker he will become comfortable with the added weight. We do not think moving up 1.5oz is too much of a transition.

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime. Here's a short video promo from Louisville Slugger.
