Another great bat by Easton Les Eastman coach

Pros: Bought this bat for my son we have used it in the cage only so far, but the swing weight is very light and it seems to have great pop out of the wrapper. The grip is very nice and he has not said anything about vibrations or stinging hands.

Cons: Graphics and paint are a little plain but that does not affect the quality of the product.

Nice Bat! exp831 parent

Pros: Got this bat for my 16yr old son and he loves it! He really likes the big barrel which is bigger than his XL3 and the overall feel of the bat. has really good pop and even has a little bit of that old aluminum bat ping but not as loud and annoying as the pre BBCOR bats. Due to the increase barrel size, the bat is end loaded but if you can get the barrel around on time then you should be okay formthis bat. For the price you cant beat the performance of the bat so he's happy with it so am I because I didn't have to spend an excessive amount of money for a bat that's supposed to have the same standards(BBCOR) and perfrom the same way.

Cons: nothing so far.

A Great Overlooked Bat AT51 parent

Pros: Very balanced, swings light, with a larger barrel than last year's S3 model. My son, who is a contact hitter, really likes it. It's a very "simple" design - 1 piece alloy that performs well. You don't need a 2-piece, composite, etc. bat that costs $500. I'd recommend you give this bat a good look before buying a Mako or other more complex design.

Cons: None seen yet.

great bat. must have brian player

Pros: The pop on this bat is tremendous. This bat from what ive witnessed have more pop than the mako and velo. The barrel size on this bat is much longer than it was years before. It is comparable to the XL series. It is veey balanced. It isnt too top heavy or handle heavy but just top heavy enough to feel the bat through the zone (could be pro or con depending on hitter. I am a hitter who hits .450 and 25 hr. I play at the triple crown/usssa/grand slam high major level) I personally hate the mako because toy cant feel the bat through the zone. Lastly it has that nice satisfying aluminum ping. When you hit that ball on the sweet spot, you know for sure its gone. And on all bats Eastons 1 year warranty

Cons: This bat since its is aluminium has more pop that composite bat bats but that pop comes at the price of denting after 1 tournament- 8 months. Bu there is a 1 year warranty. The only other con is that if you take a ball of the hamdle or the end cap it has much more vibration and feedback (in stinging hands) than composites

Outstanding JMK player

Pros: Easy to swing. Extended barrel allows me to make solid contact on pitches that I'm a little late on. Excellent pop for an all alloy bat. Don't want to spend $300-$400+, get this bat. Several of my teammates are using my bat now and they love it..

Cons: Not a truly balanced bat in my opinion. Slightly end loaded, probably because of the extended barrel. (Not like an XL3 or other end loaded bats). Just wanted to share that with you guys.

Contact Hitters Dream Bat Old Ball Coach parent

Pros: Purchased this bat for my 9th grade high school ball player. He is a contact hitter at 5'6" and 110-115 pounds. We compared the S3Z (one piece matrix alloy) to the S1 (two piece composite) and found his bat speed and comfort/confidence level to be better with the S3Z. The S3Z feels better balanced and less end loaded when compared to the S1. The bat has plenty of pop to it and my son appears to have no issues getting the bat through the zone. Additionally, he just happens to prefer a one (1) piece and likes the handle/grip. Overall, good purchase. In comparing S3Z to S1 there are differences, despite the fact that both bats are designed for the "contact" hitter. I think the alloy is the way to go, especially if your son needs a little more pop than the composite can provide. The Torq, Mako and S1 may be the "cool" bats to own, but this is the best bat for my son. I would have paid the $400+ for the other bats if I thought they were better, but they weren't.

Cons: None other than after seeing my son hit with it in the cage, I am left to wonder why Easton doesn't advertise this bat more. That is probably a function of folks willingness to line up and pay $400 or more for the Torq, Mako or S1.

Parent of HS player Parent of High School Player parent

Pros: Bat is well balanced and seems to have good pop.

Cons: However, bat paint has several chips and dented after 3 games. Son has used the bat against pitchers throwing between 88 and 92 at the varsity level. I am hoping it was just a lemon and I know warranty covers it but I am surprised that it had taken such a beating so quickly. I thought that the Z-core was a better quality aluminum than what the speed was made of years past. The team Marucci that he has used over the past year seems to be more durable. We shall see what the replacement Zcore is like. I will comment on it when he gets the warranted bat from Easton and after several games.

Amazing One Piece Bat M. Doherty player

Pros: I've always been a fan of Easton bats and I love aluminum barrels; one piece, two, as long as I'm getting that lovely ping sound. This bat is well balanced and has a stiff feel which I love. Got mine in a 34/31 and has never let me down. I launched 4 of my 5 HR's in my last year of Babe Ruth, and performed well in Varsity ball swinging this bat. You want a well balanced aluminum bat, the s3z is the way to go!

What is the difference between the 2015 S3Z and 2014 S3? fnava
Aside from the obvious cosmetic changes between the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S3), the Z Core technology in the new S3Z helps maximize the sweet spot and durability while still maintaining the low M.O.I expected of the Easton Speed Series.

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat: (BB15S3Z) will be very similar in comparison, especially to the 2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: (SL14S310). This new 2015 Easton model will incorporate a new material called Hyperlite Matrix Alloy. This material is designed to improve durability and control. This particular model will also include Z-Core Technology which is designed to boost power, and create a large sweet spot on the barrel. One of the biggest differences will be the weight distribution. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat: (BB15S3Z) will be very balanced making it very easy to generate a fast bat swing.
Merritt

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Omaha 515 are both great options for contact and power hitter. They both feature one-piece designs with balanced swing weights. Therefore, this model will be extremely hot right out of the wrapper, and will initially have more pop simply because of the material it incorporates. It will start out a little slow, but once broken-in, this material will continually heat up and excel in performance.

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Mizuno Generation are very comparable bats and have similar sweet spots. The S3Z has a slightly larger sweet spot, but it is a minimal difference.

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a terrific bat for a contact hitter and a power hitter. The balanced swing weight is great for contact hitters and the one-piece design provides a stiff feel for power hitters. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" bat.
Jason
Which bat has a bigger barrel the 2014 XL3 or the 2015 ZCORE? _Michael_
The barrel lengths should be very similar on the 2014 XL3 and the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features a balanced swing weight.

My son is 15 years old, and is a 6'3" 220 lb power hitter that uses the entire field. Which bat do you suggest? tom
Based on his big playing style, I would probably suggest the 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat: (B1403E). It has been highly reviewed, and will provide players with a high level of performance instantly.

Jason
I was wondering if the S3Z was great for me? I am a small kid and I need a light weight bat that is BBCOR. Is this bat right for me? new to bbcor
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features an extended barrel and is not as balanced as previous S3 models. The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14S4 is a very light swinging BBCOR bat that is very similar in design to the S3.

This 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) does offer Z-Core Internal Technology that provides a longer barrel than the 2014 S3. But it is also made from the new Hyperlite Matrix Alloy that improves the performance and durability that the S3Z can offer.

I can be a contact hitter and power hitter would this bat be good for me? Reyesbaseball
The stiff flex but light swing weight of the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) give it appeal to all types of players and could be used well by both power hitters or contact hitters.
Patrick
I am 6 foot 1 and 180 pounds and I don't know if I should get this bat or the 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR? Keelay
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB1) are both very similar in terms of design. The S3Z has a slightly more balanced swing weight but other than that the preference would come down to which brand you prefer more.
Patrick
My son is 6' and 155 lbs. He is 15. I'm deciding between the 2015 Easton S3Z BBCOR and the XL1. He is more of a power hitter. Which one and which size length? can't decide
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) a great bat for a power hitter or a contact hitter. It features a fairly balanced swing weight and an extended barrel, which is great for any player. The Easton XL1 has an end loaded swing weight and is typically the best overall option for a power hitter. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 33" model.
Jason
I have been using Easton bats for years. I am now using a 2014 XL1 33 inch 30 ounce. I am 6 foot 4 and weigh 210 pounds. What does the S3Z give me? Should I switch? If so, why? RR
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) would not necessarily be considered an upgrade from the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1). they are both nice models. if the XL1's end-loaded feel is something that has worked well for you, it may not be best to move to a more balanced S3Z. The S3Z is an improvement from last years S3 with its hyperlite Matrix Alloy that adds durability and allows an extension of the sweet spot without having to add barrel thickness. The XL1 is a different feel so if that has worked the change to the S3Z may not be an improvement.
Patrick
Could this bat be used in high scool leagues? Is it BBCOR certified? jo
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be BBCOR certified. It is legal for high school and college ball.
Brandon
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this alloy bat compared to a composite bat like the S1? BP
The Easton S1 will be more balanced, eliminates vibration more efficiently, and should provide a longer useful life than the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z). However, the one-piece design of the S3Z, combined with the expanded sweet spot, make this a great choice for a stronger player which transfers energy very efficiently to the ball on contact. The alloy design is also hot right out of the wrapper, while the composite barrel of the S1 will require a break-in period prior to game-use. Neither bat is proven to outperform the other, but each player will likely prefer one design over the other.
Mac
What bat has a bigger sweet spot, this bat or the 2014 DeMarini Overlord? nick
The sweet spots on both the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball (BatDXVDC) are extremely similar. The Easton S3Z ZCore features an extended Barrel which will lengthen the sweet spot while the Voodoo OVERLORD will provide D-Fusion Handle Technology that prevents vibration in the handle while simultaneously extending the sweet spot.
Ben
Which one performs better: the S2Z, S1Z, or S3Z? raytw
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the two other bats apart of the Easton Speed Series (The S1Z and S2Z) all must meet the performance standards of the regulations they will be under. What will differ between these bats is their construction. The S3Z is a single piece alloy model while the S1Z and S2Z are two-piece models.
Ben
I am an all contact hitter, and am looking to hit the ball farther. I usually hit just over the infield, but am looking to hit the ball more deep in the outfield. Do you think this bat is right for me? Also, is this bat balanced, and will let me get the barrel around faster? Cody_16
Usually contact hitters that are looking for a little extra "pop" will look to bats with a two-piece design that will give them some flex within the bat when they swing. If a player's swing isn't designed to create power by itself, the flex can create a little more "jump" or "pop" needed to put some more distance into the ball. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will probably be a little heavier in the barrel. I would suggest looking at the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) for a well-balanced two piece offering from Easton.
Ben
I am 14 135 pounds wich size do u think would b good for me GoBlue
Based on your weight and age alone it would be impossible to accurately size you. Height is an important factor to consider when sizing people for a bat like the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
Patrick
I am a contact hitter looking for a little more power to drive the ball. Which bat do you recommend? dylan
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z). You might also consider the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) or the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB).
Damon
With an extended barrel, does the S3Z have a similar balanced weight to Louisville Slugger Omaha 515? ATK
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be very balanced. It will have a similar feel to Slugger's Omaha 515. It will also have a longer barrel length compared to the Omaha.
Brandon
Is this bat USSSA approved? Says
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a BBCOR certified bat and it is not USSSA approved.
Frankie
My son is 13, 5 feet tall, and about 125 lbs. What size would you recommend? Cheryl
For his size we would recommend a 30" in the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
Allison
I'm 16, 5'8" and about 140 lbs. I'm looking for a bat to get me deeper into the outfield with more pop. I'm mostly a contact hitter. Would this single piece aluminum bat work better than a 2 piece bat like the Easton 2014 S2? TAC
Typically for contact or gap hitters, we recommend a two-piece balanced bat. This is due to the fact that two-piece bats actually flex when being swung through the zone. This flex will allow you to increase your bat speed. A one-piece bat will be much stiffer through the zone, and won't have quite the same effect on your bat speed. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a one-piece bat, therefore it will not have the same effect on your bat speed as a two-piece model.
Joe
My son is 4'8'' weighs about 75 lbs. His Pony League now requires a -3 BBCOR bats. Looking for a 30/27 bat. Would you recommend the S3Z or S4? KSH
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a combination of the Easton S3 and the Easton XL3. The S3Z has a slightly heavier design and it will feel a little more end loaded. The S4 is an extremely balanced bat and is designed for players that are going into BBCOR for the first time. The S4 will provide him with the easiest transition and provide him with the quicker bat speed.
Jason
I'm 6' 0" and have been wondering which bat has the lightest swing weight? I'm more of a line drive hitter. Warrior22
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) would be an excellent option for more of a contact hitter. It is going to be a one-piece alloy balanced bat with a light swing weight.
Jake
Is there a big difference between the S3Z Zcore and the XL1? What are the differences? Also, I am 5'3" and weigh 105 lbs. What length do you suggest I buy? Lookouts39
There are some key differences. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be a one-piece all alloy balanced design. The XL1 is going to be a two-piece fully composite end-loaded design. The S3Z is going to be for more of a contact hitter, whereas the XL1 will be geared more for a power hitter. I would recommend a 30" length.
Jake
What is the diffrence between the Easton XL3 and the S3Z Zcore? Player39
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be a balanced and made of alloy, while having Zcore technology to help create power through the swing. While the Easton XL3 is going to be an end loaded bat and will be made of alloy.
Frankie
I have quick hands and rely on my fast hands. I usually hit for power to gaps. Is this the bat for me? TZ
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be balanced bat, great for contact/gap hitters. The ZCORE in this bat is designed to help the player boost power. I think this will be a great bat for you.
Frankie
It seems to me that the new S3Z ZCORE is similar to the old white Easton Stealth, without the composite handle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the potential barrel performance sounds similar because the stealth was a great bat. Car Car
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features the new Hyperlite alloy and when paired with the Z-Core internal technology is a definite step up in terms of feel, performance, and durability.
Jake
Which bat will have a lighter swing weight: this S3Z, the 2015 Rawlings 5150, Mizuno Generation, or Louisville Slugger Omaha 515? I had the 2013 Velo and I loved it but I can't afford that this year so I want to get the lightest swinging bat like the Velo and those are my options. bg123
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be similar in design to the Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBVELO) but the new 2015 Rawlings 5150 Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB5150) is closest in terms of construction and similar performance.
Patrick
What's the difference between this and the S4? Mason
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be a 2 5/8" barrel and is going to have ZCORE technology in the bat to produce more power behind the swing. The Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S4) is going to be a 2 1/2" barrel providing a faster swing.
Frankie
Is the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z approved for 13-15 year old Babe Ruth league? Danny
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is approved for play in 13-15 year old Babe Ruth.
John
Is it BBCOR certified? Is it approved for college ball? That dude HA
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be BBCOR .50 certified and be approved for play in college baseball (in the product pictures you'll notice that this bat has the BBCOR .50 certification).
Ben
Can I take the bottom grip off of the 015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z)? Danny
You can technically take the bottom grip off the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z), however, that may effect the warranty. To be safe I would check with Easton: (888) 259-1297.
Allison
How evely weighted is this bat? Is it certified for high school baseball? I'm 5'6" and 130 pounds, what size would you recommend or what other bats would you recommend? Nick
Based upon your height and weight, we would recommend going with a 31" BBCOR option. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will have a single-piece, all-alloy construction that should create a balanced swing weight. I might also suggest looking at the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) which will have a two-piece, all-composite construction and have an even more balanced swing weight than the S3Z.
Ben
Are BBCOR bats approved for Babe Ruth league play? danny
Absolutely. BBCOR bats like this 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) are approved for play in the 13-15 and 16-18 year old age division of Babe Ruth Baseball. In the 16-18 year old division, BBCOR is required.
Mac
Is it OK to use S3Z at the batting cages that use rubber balls? Will it damage it or void the warranty? rolo
We wouldn't recommend using any game bat in a batting cage that uses rubber "dimple" balls. Those balls are a bit more dense than the regulation game balls that these bats are designed for. Easton also lists a few exceptions to their warranty on their site: http://www.easton.com/support/warranty-and-returns/bat-warranty/. One of those is that they will not accept bats under warranty that have "been used in a commercial batting cage".
Mac
Is this bat good for contact hitters and is it high school approved? bgas1278
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight offered in the Hyperlite Matrix Alloy. This is an ideal model for a gap to power hitter. Additionally, it is a BBCOR bat and approved for high school and collegiate play.
Joe
I'm a batter looking for a good solid feeling in a bat. I'm more of a contact hitter and was wondering if this bat would be good for me? I have tried the Voodoo and it doesn't feel right due to the smaller handle. They are too light feeling and balanced. Would this bat give me a good solid feel through the zone? Is it more end loaded? franbaseballguy
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will actually be a very balanced model. It is not end loaded. It will feature the one-piece fully alloy design. It will feel pretty stiff and give you that solid feeling through the zone.
Brandon
This bat or a Marucci Cat 6? I'm 5'8" 150 pounds and I'm a contact hitter with occasional power. coopwil25
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will both feature a one piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The S3Z will be a bit more balanced than the Cat 6, however, their performance will be very similar.
Joe
I'm 5'11" and weigh 210 pounds. I'm more of a contact hitter but I like a stiffer heavier bat. Would you recommend this bat or something else? What length should i get? john
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) in a 33" 30 oz. model. The S-series by Easton will feature a balanced swing weight as well as a one piece alloy design for this particular model. If you prefer a heavier end-load in a one-piece model, I would recommend the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403).
Joe
My son is 5 foot 11 and weighs 155 pounds. He used the Rawlings 5150 in a 31 inch 28 ounce size last year. What is a similar bat that he could use this year as he has grown about 4 inches taller since last year? Baseball Dad
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) would be a close design and we also have the same bat (Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB513) available in the size he would need as well. Based on height and weight, we would suggest going up to a 32 inch 29 ounce.
Patrick
Is the barrel on this bat bigger than the one on the 2014 Easton XL3? Bob Saget
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Easton XL3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB11X3) not only have the 2 5/8" barrel diameter, but both bats feature the extended barrel as well.
Chinyere
does this bat have faster swing speeds than the louisville slugger omaha 515? and is it more balanced than the demarini voodoo paradox? tcuball
The Eastpn S3Z and the Omaha 515 will have a similar balanced feel, and so they will both have around the same swing weight. The S3Z and the Demarini Voodoo Paradox will both be slightly end loaded and will have large sweetspots, but expect the S3Z to have a lighter swing weight.
Jason
During the 2014 season I used the Easton XL3 which was one of the best bats I have ever used. How similar is the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE to the 2014 Easton XL3? What are the differences? max
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the XL3 are actually completely different bats. The XL3 is going to be end-loaded whereas the S3Z is going to be a balanced bat geared more for contact hitters. The materials are the same, but swing weight is completely different.
Jake
How balanced is the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) going to feel? thebig32
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight offered in the Hyperlite Matrix Alloy. The S3Z is going to be a very light swinging bat.
Liz
Is this bat completely balanced or is it slightly end loaded? Ted
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will have a balanced feel.
Frankie
Which bat would better suit me, the Easton S3Z Zcore or the 2014 Easton S2? I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 125 pounds. speakman15
Which bat would be better for yo would be less based on your size and more on your preference between the two. Both the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) are nice models. The S3Z is a single-piece alloy design while the S2 is a two-piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The S3Z will offer better control while the S2 might give you better bat speed with the added flex.
Patrick
Since this bat is end loaded, what will it do to my swing? Scans
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) actually features a balanced swing weight as well as a one piece full alloy design. It will be fairly stiff through the zone, however the balanced swing weight allows for relatively quick bat speed.
Joe
Is there anything different from last years to this years model other than color? And I was wondering if this one was slightly end loaded due to reviews saying that it was. Ben0692
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features the new Hyperlite Matrix Alloy which will provide a larger sweet spot compared to the previous 2014 S3 model that featured a THT100 alloy. They will be very similar in terms of swing weight. Both will have a balanced design.
Frankie
I had a 2015 Combat Portent G3, but it broke, and the warranty expired. So, my choices for bats are between the Marucci Cat 5 BBCOR and the S3Z ZCORE BBCOR. My dad wants me to get a bat with lots of pop, too. Revolution_17
Either bat would be a great choice. The Marucci Cat 5 (MCB2) is the more popular bat, and features anti-vibration technology to help reduce sting. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features the Z-Core Technology that helps boost power. Both bats will feature an extended barrel and large sweet spot.
Chinyere
Is the Cat 5 better than the the S3Z ZCORE? Revolution_17
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features a one piece full alloy design with a very balanced swing weight. The Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The performance of the bats will be very similar, however I would recommend the S3Z as the Hyperlite Matrix Alloy it features has a slightly more balanced feel.
Joe
Is this bat end-loaded compared to the Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBCA2? danny
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be balanced just like the Rawlings 5150 BBCOR bat.
Jake
Should I use a BBCOR model if I am 5' and 90 lbs.? matt
BBCOR models such as the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) are intended for high school and collegiate play. They are also required for certain middle schools as well. If you are playing in a league that requires a BBCOR model, we would recommend a 30" 27 oz. model for a player of your size.
Joe
What is the difference between this 2015 model and the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR model? Is it worth $100 difference? GPa Baseball
The new 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) has an improved alloy from the Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S3) which allows fro better durability and a bit more extended sweet spot area.
Patrick
Which has a more balanced feel the S3Z ZCORE or the S2Z ZCORE? chany
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the S2Z ZCORE are both going to have the same weight distribution and have the same balance.
Frankie
My 12 year old son is playing middle school and requires a BBCOR. He is 5 foot 1 and only 81 pounds. Good 29 inch bats are hard to find. What would be the lightest feeling BBCOR out there? The Easton S4 would have been a great fit, but it is discontinued. Vic
BBCOR bats like the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) are usually not produced in a 29 inch size. The only model we have that has come in a 29 inch size recently was the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) but we unfortunately do not have it anymore.
Patrick
How balanced is this bat? Is it more top heavy or handle heavy? Also, would this be good for power hitters? Drew
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a balanced bat, however, one-piece bats can have a stiff feel that power hitters may prefer.
Chinyere
Is the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE better than the RAWLINGS 5150? A-RIOD
Both bats are one-piece aluminum bats, so they are similar in construction. However, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will feature an extended barrel.
Chinyere
What has a more balanced feel: the Easton 2015 S3Z BBCOR bat or the 2014 Easton XL3? gunnar
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be balanced and geared to contact hitters, whereas the XL3 is going to be end-loaded and geared towards power hitters.
Jake
If you have had success with an XL3, which is closer in feel, the SZ3 or the XL1? Jeff
The XL1 will feel similar to the XL3. Both of those bats were designed to have an end-loaded feel. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will have a balanced design.
Chinyere
Is this bats weight mostly in the handle? CStaggs
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features a slightly end loaded swing weight.
Jason
My son is 5 foot 5 inches and weights 120 pounds. What size bat would you recommend? vic
Based on your sons height and weight I recommend getting a 30 inch in the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
Frankie
Is the handle tapered? alex #15
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to have a slight tapered handle.
Frankie
Is this bat composite? T
No, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCore BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a one-piece all alloy design.
John
How does this bat compare to the Louisville Slugger Omaha BB136? Willymo
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) are both balanced one-piece alloy bats. The newer 2015 Easton S3Z will have a higher quality alloy.
Damon
It says this bat is balanced with fast swing speeds. I haven't been able to get my hands on one. I was wondering if it feels as balanced as the new DeMarini Vexxum NVS? I know the Easton is a one piece and the DeMarini is two piece, but just concerned about the balance. Chris
The DeMarini Vexxum is specifically designed to be ultra light. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be balanced but not as balanced as the Vexxum.
Liz
Why does this bat has a real loud ping instead of a loud crack like last years S3 model? I'm not sure I like the ping. moon
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) features an upgraded Hyperlite Matrix Alloy, which may be the reason for the difference in sound from last year's S3 to this year's S3Z. In year's past, the S3 models were contructed from Easton's THT1000 Scandium alloy.
Tessa
is this a good bat for contact hitters? rodie
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Chinyere
I am 5 foot 1 and weigh 90 pounds. What size do you recommend? jason
Based on height and weight, I would suggest the 30 inch size of the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).

Patrick
How does this bat compare to the 2014 MAKO and the DeMerini CF6? butterball
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a one-piece alloy balanced bat. It is geared more for contact, gap, and line drive hitters. The MAKO and CF6 are both going to be two-piece fully composite bats and are the top of the line bats for each manufacturer.
Jake
Have there been any problems with denting with this bat? If so, does it effect performance? Crimson
We have not seen many issues with the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) in terms of denting. Small dents should not affect performance but larger ones could affect the barrel compression which can reduce performance.
Patrick
How is the swing weight compared to last year's S3 model? Does the extended barrel make it end loaded? Frank
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will feature the same balanced swing weight as previous model year's. This model does feature an extended barrel design, which typically means that it will have an end loaded feel to it, however, this model is made from Easton's all new Hyperlite Matrix alloy. This alloy allows the bat to still be very balanced. The upgrade in alloy also means that it will be higher performing and have better durability than the older models as well.
Tessa
My son swings the Easton XL3 BBCOR model bat. I wanted to know what Easton bat is comparable to this XL3 bat? JOHN
The XL3 is going to be an end-loaded bat. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be a balanced bat and will not feel like the XL3. The closest thing to the XL3 would be the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Jake

Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is going to be a balanced bat.
Frankie
Would this bat be easy to transition to from an ash wood Louisville Slugger bat? baller

Frankie
I am 5 foot 6 and weigh 140 pounds. What size should I get in the BBCOR S3Z? cadanhartten

Patrick

The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2016 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBR53) are too similar in design and performance to rule one as better than the other. It would be a matter of brand or style preference which would come down to what you personally think.
Patrick

Patrick
I play in the MABF. Can I use it? We can use USSSA bats. Nate
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a BBCOR certified bat which is a more strict restriction than the USSSA standard. If you are unsure whether it would be allowed, it would be best to ask a league official or coach.
Patrick
I am 5'4" and 100 lbs. What bat size do you recommend? t4
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
Jason
Is the 2016 Z core BB16ZA the same bat, with updated graphics. If not, what are the differences jef217
The grip on the 2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZA) is a bit different than the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the cosmetic look is different but the performance and design features should be very similar.
Patrick
Is the bat very well balanced? roadie
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BBB15S3Z) will be a very well balanced design.
John
Is this bat similar to the last Exogrid that was mad made at all? dinger
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is not really that similar to the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13EX). They are both hybrid designs but the Exogrid is unlike any other bat on the market in that its composite material is in the form of inserts in the handle rather than a solely composite handle.
Patrick
Is this bat good for a contact hitter? fore
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a great option for a contact hitter due to how balanced it is.
John
What bat length do you recommend for a 9th grader, 120lbs and 5'5"? MuffyKat
We would recommend a 30" in 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) for a player with that height and weight.
John
Would this bat suffice for a 6'2 270 sophomore? I'm a big hitter and need a bat that can help me get around quicker. Marsh
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) has a very balanced swing weight which will help increase bat speed. For your height and weight we would recommend a 34".
John
How does this bat compare to the 2016 VELO? TH24
Yes, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will be very similar in design to the 2016 Rawlings VELO. Both models will be a one-piece all alloy design with a well balanced swing weight.
John
I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 110 pounds. What is a good bat size for me? phlippy
Based on height and weight, we would suggest a 30 inch size of the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
Patrick
Does this bat have weights in the handle under the tape? Tk
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z does not contain any additional weights in the handle underneath the tape.
Marcus
How do you compare the Easton S3Z to the Marucci One? I am a 5 foot 10 140 pound 14 year old and I consider myself more of a contact hitter. Which would you recommend? jack1234
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the Marucci ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB1) compare very closely and both would be great options. Either one should work well for you.
Patrick
I'm 14 years old, 5'9", and weigh 160 lbs. What size would you recommend? Robert pounder
For a player of your height and weight, I would recommend going with the 32" 29 oz. 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z.
Marcus
Is this bat more balanced then the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR? johnny
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z and RIP-IT AIR BBCOR will be similarly balanced one-piece alloy bats.
Marcus
If I am 5 foot 5, should I buy a 31 inch or a 32 inch? ethan
We could more accurately size you if we had both height and weight but, for the most part, we would recommend a 31 inch 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) for you.
Patrick
How durable is this bat new. Would it last a couple of years if it is used during baseball season?? And how long is the barrel ?? Im also gonna use it in high school next year!? j4
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a very durable bat. It features a 2 5/8 inch barrel and has an expanded sweet spot. If the bat is taken care of properly and the ball is hit near the sweet spot of the barrel consistently the bat should last awhile. Also, if the bat is not used in cold weather (below 60 F) it will help the bat perform better for longer. With all that said, all metal bats will not last forever and are susceptible to denting/breaking. It is tough to say that it would last for a couple years but with a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty there is a chance it could happen.
Cameron
I had the S3 senior league bat in the spring and it dented within 2 games. Then I sent it back and it dented again. With the zcore sleeve do you think I should try a bbcor model of this bat. Tristen
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) would be a great option to consider. Alloy bats do have a tendency to dent after time, especially in colder weather. To help save the life of these bats, try using another bat for BP/practices and during cold weather do the best you can to keep the bat warm.
Cameron
What is the difference between the s3z and the cf7? 123
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a one-piece alloy bat while the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is a two-piece fully composite bat.
Cameron
If I were to get lizard skin on it should I get 1.1 or 0.5? j4
What type of lizard skin, 1.1 or 0.5, thickness will be completely dependent on your preference. If you prefer a thinner handle feeling then we would suggest 0.5 MM. If you don't have a preference then we would suggest 1.1 MM.
Cameron
Is the 2015 S3Z ZCORE the newer version of the 2014 XL3. Also, what is the 2016 model of the 2014 XL3 if there is one? Gill
No, the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a different design in that it is balanced rather than being end-loaded like the Easton XL3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X3). Unfortunately, there have not been subsequent models of an end-loaded alloy BBCOR from Easton since that model.
Patrick
Is this bat legal for USSSA? ctuck123
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is BBCOR Certified which makes it approved for play at the high school and collegiate level. This bat will not feature the USSSA stamp.
John P.
Is the Easton S3Z or the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD more balanced? Which would you recommend for a 5'11" 170 pound freshman that hits for power? Which one lasts longer? luke
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is more balanced than the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD features a slightly end loaded swing weight and it is typically the better option for a power hitter. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model. Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict the lifespan of a bat as there are too many factors that can determine that. Both bats are very durable though and they should last quite a while as long as you take care of them.
Jason
I am 6' and weigh 170 lbs. What length of this bat would you recommend for me? ltrain
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z in a 33 inch 30 ounce model.
Cameron
Which bat has the longest and biggest barrel the Omaha 515 the Easton S3Z or the Rawlings 5150? Trey Gwinn
All of these bats have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z has an extended barrel unlike the Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBO5153 and the 2016 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBR53.
Angelique
does tbis bat have the USSSA stamp? is it USSSA approved? Rachelle
This bat does not have the USSSA stamp, but it would be USSSA approved. It is a BBCOR baseball bat, which has tougher specifications than USSSA. BBCOR requires a .50 BPF, whereas USSSA requires a 1.15 BPF.
Nick
I am 6'3 and 220 pounds. What size bat should I get? pranked
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 34" Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z.
John P.
I am 6'2 and around 195 pounds. What size bat should I use? reece
For a player with your height and weight we would recommend a 34" in the Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z).
John
My son has a 2011 Easton XL3. What Easton bat is comperable with the same end loaded feel? mako?? Reef
As far as BBCOR bats go, the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKL is going to be the most similar in terms of end loaded swing weight. However, the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKL is going to be a two-piece fully composite design, whereas the XL3 was a one piece fully alloy. Easton does make a fully one piece alloy (2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZA), but that bat will not be end loaded.
Nick
If my son loves his 2014 Easton S1, what new bat would be closest in comparison? IBStoked
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is only similar to the S1 by its balanced swing weight. The S3Z is a one-piece alloy and the S1 is a two-piece composite. The most comparable bat to the Easton S1 would be the Easton MAKO.
Jason
My son is 13 5'10" 140lbs what size bat do you recommend you Mom
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 33" bat. With him being 13, he could benefit from using a -5. This would help him transition to having to use a -3 when he gets to high school.
Nick
What year did this model bat come out? Dad
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a 2015 model. It was first released in late November in 2014.
John
I'm 5'9" and 210 Ibs. Which bat is more recommended, the 2016 Omaha 516 or this 2015 S3Z? TURNup32
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend looking to a 33" option of a BBCOR .50 bat. This Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is a single-piece, all-alloy bat with a balanced swing weight just like the 2016 Omaha 516. This BB15S3Z has received the most customer testimony and most of the testimony has been very positive. I would suggest going with this S3Z model.
Ben
This S3Z or the S2? ty
If you are looking for a bat that has a single-piece design and offers a stiff feel at contact, I would recommend this Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) over the S2. However, if you like the hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) and flex at contact, then the S2 is the route I would recommend going for a bat.
Ben
I have one question. What will happen if a power hitter uses a speed bat? Biilly Joes
A power hitter may find that a lighter weight balanced bat like the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) does not have enough mass and weight behind it when they swing especially if they are already used to more of an end-loaded bat. With that being said the S3Z ZCORE is a one-piece all alloy bat so it does provide the stiffness that power hitters tend to like more.
Jake
How many pitches until the bat is broken in? cole
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is a one-piece alloy bat and it does not require a break-in period. It is hot out of the wrapper.
Jason
Does this bat have good, overall performance? cs
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z has a lot of positive reviews with a five star overall rating.
Angelique
My son uses a -5 XL3 that he really loves. He will need a BBCOR bat next year. Since the XL3 is discontinued, would this be a good replacement, or is there another bat you would recommend? Matt
The Easton XL3 is a one-piece alloy bat that will feature an end-loaded swing weight. With BBCOR bats, there isn't a bat that is going to be similar. Easton does make the MAKO XL; this bat features the end-loaded swing weight but is a two-piece composite bat. The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z will be a one-piece alloy bat like the XL3 but will have a balanced swing weight. If a balanced swing weight is something the player feels comfortable using then the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is a great bat to consider.
Cameron
What is the difference between the 2015 and 2016 S3Z BBCOR? mike
The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z has a performance diamond grip and the 2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZA has a HYPERSKIN grip. The 2016 model also features a lower swing weight for a more balanced feel compared to the 2015 model.
Angelique
Is it composite? lenny
No, the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z will feature a one-piece fully alloy design.
Nick
I am 5'7" and 135 pounds. What size bat would you recommend? Cameron

Angelique
The Easton S1 model is a great model for a balanced swing weight. What bat would be most similar to the S1 model? mikeyc33
The bat that would be most similar to the Easton S1 in construction and balanced swing weight would be the Easton MAKO. Both bats will feature the two-piece fully composite construction with a balanced swing weight.
Cameron
Is the S3Z Little League approved? charlotte
The Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z is only approved for play within the Senior League and Big League divisions of Little League.
John P.
What is the difference between the Easton S3Z and S2Z and which one would be better for someone who is 5'7" and weighs 105 lbs? rICKY bOBBY
The main difference between the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z and the Easton S2Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S2Z will be the connection point that the S2Z will feature, making this bat a hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel; this will allow for better vibration reduction from off-centered hits when compared to the S3Z.
Cameron
Should I get this or the Cat 6? Zach
Both the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z and the Marucci Cat 6 are one-piece, fully alloy bats with balanced swing weights. Both of these bats would be great options to consider for either a power or contact type hitter.
Cameron
I played HS ball in the -5 era and college ball at the -3 era. I cracked or broke nearly every -5 model I ever used, but have never used a BBCOR bat long enough to know the durability. I am more of a power hitter when I bat right handed, but since I switch hit, I tend to bat a lot more left handed to improve contact. I also tend to drop down to a 32" model. Do I need to consider a composite bat for batting right handed or will this one be okay? old man on the diamond
There are some options of every bat that will break down, but this S3Z shows pretty good durability (and I would say BBCOR bats show solid durability overall). This Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) will come with an all-alloy build to it and it will also features a balanced swing weight. Composite and alloy bats both feature the same potential for displaying performance. A decision between the two materials just comes down to a player's preference. We have gotten solid reviews from customers on this bat and if you feel a balanced model will help you as a player from both sides of the plate, I think this will be a great model for hitting right and left handed.
Ben
What size should I use? I am 5'9" or 5'10" and 150 pounds. Chris
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z.
Jason
What is the closest bat to the Easton 2015 S3Z? G
The most comparable model to the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB15S3Z would be the 2019 Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL.
