This is the bat for 2015 CMontague parent

Pros: My son was invited to "Bat Wars" yesterday by a sports store owner. Basically he hit every 2015 bat. The CF7 was hot out of the wrapper. It was line drive after line drive. He did hit one out with the new Easton...but he said he couldn't feel the shots he was hitting with CF7. And they were HOT.

Cons: I need to see him hit it more than 30 times so I know about durability.

Best Demarini so far! Coach Brian coach

Pros: Great pop. Excellent balance. No sting. Mako and XL1 users on our team were skeptical about the performance of a Demarini until they saw the hitting display put on with it. Gonna be a sleeper among all the Makos in the duggouts this year.

Cons: Color wears off grip.

So far, so good Tom P. other

Pros: The drop 11 has helped speed up my Grandson's swing and has produced more solid hits.

Cons: In order to get a lighter bat, I needed to go to the smaller barrel. His league allows a 2 5/8 inch barrel.

MAKO KILLER Sunnybrae coach

Pros: Just bought the 29" 18oz. size for my 8yr old son who was over-pulling the ball and in need of an longer/slightly heavier upgrade. Noticed a huge difference the first day it arrived when we hit the cage. Ball jumps off the bat much faster and he's been hitting solid line drives. Still in the break-in phase, but excited to see the full potential of this bat once it's warmed up and my son's more comfortable with it. Nice to see Demarinis standing out in dugout full of orange and green Eastons.

Cons: Bat is heavier than the advertised 18oz. Broke out the food scale and the CF7 weighs 20.4oz. I can notice at practice and in the cage after a bucket of balls that he starts getting tired and his usual consistent pull to left field starts to shift towards center/right. Thankfully, a couple kids on his team have the lighter Demarini Voodoo that he uses in games when the pitcher's throwing gas. A truer weight stamp would be better.

Best of the best. Doug Slaughter. parent

Pros: Purchased a 2015 Mako. Was a little too heavy so we purchased the CF7. Wow! In the All Stars he had 17 hits in 22 at bats and had a few that hit the top of the fence in center field. Now Im the worlds best dad. Awesome pop after breaking in. Another great Demarini product.

balanced as they come coach joe coach

Pros: this is absolutley the most balanced bat i have ever seen. its a super quick bat that smacks line drive after line drive after line drive after...u get picture. the ball comes of this thing hotter than any other bat on the market, ive seen em all. the eastons, maruccis, LS, you name it. the ball screams off this bat. HR's can be hit off this bat, but because of how balanced this bat is, its the cream of the crop when it comes to line drives. ive seen kids crank homers with tge end loaded eastons and then have trouble crankin em out with this until they get used the balance. but the ball without a doubt comes off the cf7 hotter than any easton, just without the lift an end loaded bat. but i do love this bat. the speed and pop of this bat is second to none

Cons: none really. just takes kids a little time to get used to how balanced this bat actually is.

Dad Bball dad parent

Pros: good pop, very balanced, nearly no vibration.

Cons: I was moving my son up from 17oz to the 29" 18oz. his easton is a 17oz and on the scale it is 17.1oz. this bat is 18oz and on the scale it is 20.5oz. that is a massive discrepancy. 2.5oz above what it is stamped.

Mako? Cf7 is the way to go frosty player

Pros: I love this bat i used to swing the voodoo and i wanted to make the jump to a heavier bat. I was debating whether to get the Mako or CF7 and since I like denmarinis products better i chose the Cf7 and I'm glad i did. The color is amazing. The pop is unbelievable and i feel nothing when hitting with this bat. I can swing at the inside pitches and not have to worry about sting. If you are debating whether to get the CF7 or Mako get the CF7.

Cons: Nothing except a lot of teammates want to use it and i don't like that

LL Mgr. BSBL Dad

Pros: Lot less bat shock than MAKO or Aluminum, good carry on a square pop, bat surface seems to hold contact to ball cover real well for a little extra bite on grounders or chip hits, looks good. Still evaluating.

Cons: Not what the weight stamp advertised. 2-3 ounces heavier (balance beam) on the 30"/19 so it is creating a bit of a drag and drop to my kids swing which is causing more ground hits. Feels more "end loaded" than what a balanced bat should be.

Best all around bat Ryan Fowler parent

Pros: My son has a mako, s1, and this cf7. spoiled..... absolutely. This is the cream of the crop. This bat is superbly balanced. My son says there's no better feeling of contact from any other bat. There isnt any vibration even with poorly hit balls. He can put the ball where he wants because of the control this bat provides. It can put them ovrr the fence with ease. Down the 3rd base line to the fence or such a hot grounder that the infield cant handle it.It took about 700 hits before really becoming alive and it seems to just keep getting better.I would guess he has hit 1500+ balls with it and durability isnt an issue. The grip is the best out of the wrapper and the color scheme is our all time favorite. Very pleased with this purchase. Would buy again and again.

Cons: The paint seems to be chipping a little but thats why you buy a bat to beat it up. Not really a con except its such a good looking bat. To bad people dont give demarini a chance over a mako.

Hello just bats experts, I am debating on whether to use the -10 2/58 cf7 or the 2015 -10 s1? JDR
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) features a two-piece full composite design with DeMarini's Paradox Carbon Fiber composite. Additionally, it offers a balanced swing weight as well as the D-Fusion handle which does a great job of absorbing most of the shock and vibration. The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) will feature a two-piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. In terms of performance, both bats will be very similar. The D-Fusion handle to me is the difference maker.
Joe
I have a 3rd grader that is 4'10" tall, but not very strong. What drop weight should I use? jakesaunt
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a drop 11 length to weight ratio. Typically, we would recommend a balanced two-piece model for a player of that size. You could also consider a balanced model in a drop 12 such as the 2015 Easton S1 Composite Youth Bat (YB15S1) or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Youth Baseball Bat (YBP9152).
Joe
My son is 4'7" and about 82 lbs. What size CF7 youth bat should he swing? big daddy
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 29" model in the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).
Jason
My nephew is 13 years old and he is 5 foot 4 and weighs 105 pounds. I know he should swing a 32 inch bat, but I'm not sure of the bat weight. Also, I'm debating between the Easton Mako and DeMarini CF7. He is an opposite field line drive hitter. Any suggestions? Clyde017
At 13 years old, most leagues will have the players using bigger barrel design bats than the 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter featured on this 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL). You would probably want to look at a heavier and larger barrel diameter model like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFR) or the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK9). Going with a -8 or -9 bat like these will help the player start transitioning toward using heavier bats which they will need to do before reaching high school where they will be required to use a -3 model.
Patrick
my son is 5'2" and 80 lbs. What size does he need? v
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in a 30" 19 oz. model.
Joe
My 12 year old son is 5 foot 2 and weighs 96 pounds. He currently uses a 30 inch XL1 for the past two seasons. He thinks he needs a 32 inch bat and likes the look of the CF7. HD
Based on height and weight, a 32 inch size bat could work for your player but a 31 inch may be able to work as well. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will be more balanced than his Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) so it would have a lighter swing weight.
Patrick
My son is 5 foot 2 inches and weighs at 102 pounds and were arguing between the MACO Youth XL and the DeMarini CF7. Which one should we get? annette
Both are great bats. The 2015 Easton MAKO XL Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MKX) is more end loaded for a power hitter, whereas the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is more balanced for a contact hitter.
Damon
My 10 year old son is 5' and 90 lbs. What size would you recommend for him? How does this model compare to the MAKO? grm
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in a 31" 20 oz. model. The CF7 will feature a two piece full composite design with an extremely balanced swing weight. The overall performance of the CF7 will be very similar to the MAKO, however the CF7 feels slightly more balanced. Additionally, the D-Fusion handle on the CF7 does a nice job of absorbing most of the shock and vibration.
Joe
My 10 yr old son is 4'6" and 78 lbs. What size bat would you recommend and should he get a big barrel model? djl1010
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in a 29" 18 oz. model. Big barrel models provide a larger hitting surface, however they also tend to be considerably more expensive as well.
Joe
What is the break in process on this bat? Brad
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) does require a break in period of 150-200 swings off of a tee or slow pitch, and rotating the bat a quarter of an inch on each swing to break it in evenly.
Frankie
What size/weight would you recommend for a 5'5" 115 pound boy? alex bb
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" 20 oz option in the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).

My son is playing as a 7 year old in pitching machine play. He is 49 inches tall and 65 pounds. He has been using an 26 inch 16 ounce Easton Brigade. It has dented majorly. What would be the best bat for him? jeremey
What would be the best model for your player would ultimately come down to their preference in feel and design rather than one bat being perfect for every player of his age and size. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is a very nice option and has good sting and vibration protection which is a good feature for young players to make them more confident to swing through the pitch.

I am a 13 year old and I am 6 feet tall and weigh 145 pounds. What length should I use? dingers for days
If you are needing a youth model like the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) I would recommend a 32 inch size. If you are using a bigger barrel design, I would suggest a 33 inch size.
Patrick
Other than graphics, what is the difference between this and the CF7 for softball? Drew
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFS) have different certifications, ratings and barrel designs. You would not want to use a baseball bat for softball or vice versa. Reduced performance, damage to the bat, and having the bat ruled illegal would result.
Patrick

Patrick
My 9 year old son is 4 foot 5 and weighs 63 pounds. Would the 29 inch 18 ounce work for him? Rikky
I would think that would be a great size of the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) for a player of that size.
Patrick
My Grandson swings a 30"-19 Mako bat and is looking to move up in size to the CF7. He is 62" tall and 103 lbs. He will turn 12 years old in one week. He is growing very fast and has a fast swing. Do you think a 32"-21 oz is too much for him at one time, or do you think the 31"-20 is better for him? Dennis
Based on his height and weight, a 31" 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is recommended. Sizing is preferential though, so if he would feel more comfortable going with the longer 32" bat, that is something to take into consideration. Ultimately, it will be a matter of preference.
Tessa
My son is 12 years old. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds. He swings a Mako 29 inch 18 ounce. It seems small to me. Should he use a 31 inch 20 ounce instead? We are looking at the CF7 or XL3. JB
Based on height and weight, a 31 inch should be able to work but a 30 inch may be a bit more appropriate. If you go with the 31 I would suggest going with the more balanced 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL). If you go with the smaller 30 inch size, an end-loaded model like the 2015 Easton XL3 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15X3) could work as well.
Patrick

Frankie
Besides the two-piece vs. one-piece, how does this compare to the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM drop -10 2 1/4" barrel in relation to vibration, balance, bat speed and sweet spot size? Camo
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will be more balanced, have better anti-vibration tendencies, but will have a smaller sweet spot. The Combat MAXUM being a one-piece will tend to have more vibration, but will have a loner extended barrel.
Jake

The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) is not BBCOR certified. The BBCOR certified model is the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). To be a BBCOR certified bat it must be a -3.

It is fine to use the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) in batting cage situations as long as actual baseballs are used. If you are using the yellow dimpled cage balls or anything that isn't an actual baseball, it can cause damage to the bat.
Patrick
Does the CF7 have an extended barrel like the Easton Mako? If so, is it as long as the Mako? If not how much difference in barrel length is there? BJB
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) features a slightly less extended barrel than the 2015 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MK) but has a bit better balance to it. The differences would be small between the two models.

The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) compares extremely closely to the 2015 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MK). The preference between the two would be more about brand or style preference.

Will this bat give me a lot of power? Beast
No one bat will necessarily give you more power, but you should see great results if you square the ball up with the 2015 DeMarini CF7 (DXCFL).
Marcus
I have heard that the actual weight of bat is sometimes not factual as stated on bat and publication. Why is there a discrepancy? Bossy
Within the industry there is a about a 2.5 ounce threshold of an accepted variance from the listed weight to the actual weight. This is because the bats are checked for weight earlier in the construction process before things like grip tape, decals, and sometimes even the end cap are added. Adding even something like the knob jewel that lists the length and weight can throw off the weight to make what is listed not true.
Patrick
How does the CF7 compare to the Voodoo Overlord FT? It is the first time my 9 year old is switching from a wood bat to an alloy/composite league. Bacdoc13
The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL) will have a bit more flex than the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Youth Baseball Bat (DXVDL) and will have a different feedback. The composite barrel of the CF7 will have more of a thud or a crack when hit while the alloy barrel on the Overlord will ping. Both are great performers.
Patrick

Which bat is better, the DeMarini CF7 or Louisville Slugger Select 715? Zach
The DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat: DXCFL and the LS Select 715 are both great bats to consider. They are going to be slightly different in that the DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat: DXCFL will be a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight while the LS Select 715 will be a two-piece hybrid construction (composite handle with alloy barrel) with a balanced swing weight. The pop and sweet spot size will be similar on each. Comes down to whether or not you want to break a bat in (the DeMarini, since it is a composite barrel, will require a break-in period of 150-200 swings rotating the barrel a 1/4" after each swing - off a tee or soft toss) or not (alloy does not require a break-in period).

I am a 13 year old who is looking for a BBCOR bat that is balanced and very quick through the zone. Would you recommend this bat? And if not, what bat do you recommend? tommy stewart
The DeMarini CF7 BBCOR bat is a two-piece composite bat with a balanced swing weight. This bat would certainly be a great option to consider is you are in the market for a balanced bat. Composite bats in general will typically have a lighter swing weight feel so we would suggest looking at other composite barrel bats for comparison purposes.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
