This 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZHT) is a hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) just like the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT. The difference that will exist between the bats is that this Z-CORE model has a TORQ handle that will rotate the full 360 degrees on the bottom portion of the handle. As well, I think the Voodoo OVERLORD FT features more of an end-loaded swing feel. If you guys specifically want a bat to feature the TORQ handle, then I would recommend this Z-CORE Hybrid TORQ. However, if you want a hybrid bat with no TORQ handle and more of an end-load, I think the Voodoo OVERLORD FT would be the option to get.

This 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZHT) will come with a two-piece, hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) and a TORQ handle on it. The BB16MKT will be different as it is a two-piece, all-composite bat that also features the TORQ handle. Since both bats will be two-piece bats, there will be a considerable amount of flex in the barrel of each bat when making contact with the ball. However, the barrel material on each bat will be different. Neither material is inherently better than the other material, it just comes down to the preference of the player swinging the bat.

With BBCOR bats being so highly regulated it is tough for one to be significantly hotter than another. When trying to figure out what bat is best for a power hitter it all comes down to personal preference on the swing weight feel of the bat as there is not one bat that is better for power over another. To have a bat last longer, may want to consider just using this bat for game day use only and an older bat for practices.

Based upon his height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a BBCOR bat in the 30" or 31" length. This 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZHT) is currently only being offered in the 33" and 34" sizes. Unfortunately, for BBCOR bats there will not be any bats that come with a -5 length-to-weight ratio (only -3 for BBCOR). As well, before you were to get MAKO TORQ, you would need to make sure that you enjoy the TORQ handle before buying.
