My son upgraded from a -8 to the 5150 Alloy -5. Confidence shot way up with the extra weight and farther hits.
Cons:
Rawlings advertises the bat speed cap, but good luck trying to find one on the market.

Pros:
Bought it for 13 year old son as a transition bat to use before high school when he will move to drop 3. He just moved up to the larger field. He hit first homerun on the big field in his first game with it. Bat has good pop and doesn't feel heavy. Son says it swings just like his drop 8, same feel. Great bat for the value!
Cons:
Miss the sweet spot and you will get a little sting. Of course, that is the case with most bats.

Well constructed and nice balance. For some reason, it seems to be a line drive bat.
Cons:
Doesn't have the pop of the Plasma Gold. My son is still using the Plasma. Will try the composite 5150 once his Plasma hits the grave yard.

Pros:
Well balanced and durable. My son has used it for 80 games this year and it still has great pop. Great transition bat for kids getting ready for high school (-3) and it will not break the bank.
Cons:
Only thing negative I can say is that I hate the sound, "PING". But, I can always tell when my son is at the plate.

paint chipped off ALOT on mine. The only thing i can read left on my bat anymore is the 0 and alloy under it. it doesnt affect hitting performance though. It stings a little off the handle or hands

got this bat to get ready for middle school.it has great pop and i hit 3 homers in 20 games.nothing but line drives and hard hits.only 11 years old and hit 300ft far with it.
Cons:
ping is disturbing(not as bad as prodigy). chipped paint on the handle but who cares for looks!

Bought this bat for grandson after the summer season. Should have bought it before the season started.He says it is the best bat he's ever had.Hit his first home run in 2 years out of the park in fall league.Says it has a "sweet" sweet-spot. Previous hits weren't past the infield, now over the infield.Has boosted his confidence tremendously. He loves the "ping".Will order again,superfast delivery!

Test of time,U 14 team hit this bat all season and it never miss a beat. Half the team used this bat and hit the ball solid.Batting practice turned into a home run derby. Lots of fun. Thanks Rawlings
