Description

Debuting at the Little League World Series, the brand new Easton Omen has already turned some heads this season! Made from Easton's patented IMX Composite, this bat will allow players to hit farther than they ever thought possible! The IMX or Integrated Matrix Technology strengthens and optimizes the composite structure, giving you a bat with extraordinary performance and extreme durability. This durability is even further enhanced by Easton's CNT or Carbon NanoTube Technology. The CNT enhances the proprietary resin system in their composite bats, creating the longest lasting bats in the industry. The Omen also features Easton's patented ConneXion Design System which optimizes performance using "hinge" technology for efficient energy transfer and flex. The ConneXion design separates the barrel from the handle which creates an expanded hitting surface and completely eliminates any chance of sting or vibration. And with a lower M.O.I., the player will notice a lighter swing weight and faster swing speed. Combine the faster swing speed with the MASSIVE sweet spot on the Omen, and you get a bat that will scare opposing defenses out of their cleats. Put this new Easton bat in your hands and receive your Omen for a successful season! The Easton Omen is approved for play in all major youth leagues allowing bats with a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter. Easton: Know-Feel-Be The Difference. This bat comes backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: My Son's coach pitch Stealth(28' drop 12) is on its last leg after 3 years of great service. I bought him the Omen 30' drop 12 last month. Even though he is eight, he can swing the bat with authority due to its center balance which he likes a lot, even though it is 2 oz heavier than his coach pitch bat. He is a power hitter, been the strongest hitter on each team he has been on. He has had strong hits with his bat, but has had the realy big ones yet, which i think is a combination of its weight, need to be broken in and confidence in the bat. He loves the grahics.

Cons: Have take some time to break in

Pros: Coach and President of a travel organization in NC and I have bought over 2k worth of bats in the past calender year. This bat has the best pop i have seen since the Blue Combat B2 and the Easton Blue Stealth Speed LSS1. Swing weight is great and the players feel everything. I don't think you can go wrong with this bat, Plus it is only $199.99.

Cons: Doesn't preform as well as some of the composite bats I have when the bat gets cold. I purchased bat warmers and that has solved the problem.

Pros: Some kid just bought this bat and it became the bat everyone wanted to swing. Our team at that practice hit over 40 homeruns clearing a 225ft for a 12u team. Balls werent just going over fence they were flying over, hitting palm trees, dumpsters and one kid hit the lights! Amazing bat highly recommended!!!

Pros: Looks great and plays even better!I went up a size hoping for an extra year of use for my son & figured he'd just have to choke up initially. NO NEED! The bat is flying through the zone and he's pulling any pitch he wants with authority. 8 1/2 years old and raking with a 31 inch stick! Great bat & service to match from JustBats.com! What else can be said?

Cons: Having to buy TWO new bats within ONE year due to the composite moratorium imposed by Little League.

Pros: Very happy with the bat so far. In the cage the balls are jumping off the bat. The balls even sound well hit -no little "pings" when the ball is hit solid. The two piece construction does a great job preventing sting.

Cons: I would note that this 29-19 feels heavier than my 10 year-old son's 29-19 Combat B2. I think he'll adjust but we might have gone with a 28-18 or a longer -12.

Pros: I bought this bat for my son after LL "banned" composites, excepts Easton and Demarini and other LL sponsors. My son likes it. He has a B3 Gear, which has more power and a little bit longer barrell. Omen has more weight in the handle so it's a little heavier to swing - not as much balance. B3 Gear is better but banned.

Cons: We bought a 29/17 Omen, but it actually is heavier than the B3 Gear 29/19. I weighed them both. The "-12" Omen weighs a tiny bit more, so it's really 29/19, not 29/17. I don't know what the -10 weighs. I won't buy another Easton based on pricinple - this bogus ban.

Davis's Dad.

Pros: My son looked at this bat vs. several others including some large big barrel bats. In the end he liked the feel of this bat better than the others, it felt right to him. The bat is light to his hand and he can get it through the strike zone quickly and accurately. Nice grip and the balance are excellent in this bat. In the end my son has confidence he can hit with this bat and in the 6 or 7 times he has used it he has shown he can, to all fields with equal power.

Cons: Negatives, I don't see any, if there were I wouldn't have shelled out the money!

Pros: This bat is very well balanced with a very large sweet spot. My 10 year old Major player loves this bat. It has great pop! we have only had it for 2 weeks and he has hit 3 doubles and 1 tripple and many hard drives up the middle for singles. He is a big 10 yr old, at 5' 135 lbs so I got him the 32" 20Oz. We are very happy with it!

Cons: The only problem I see with it at this moment is a small crack in the rubber band in the middle, which will probable be covered by the warantee.

Pros: This bat has awesome pop and great balance. My 7 year-old is 46lbs. and swings the 28" drop 12. He still has great timing with this bat even though it's heavier than the 27" drop 13 he was swinging. He loves it. only two at bats with hit so far, but there is a noticable difference.

Cons: On his first at bat, he hit a line drive stragiht into the opposing pitchers nose! the kid was OK, but did not return to the game. Like I said, the bat has GREAT pop so tell your kids to keep their eyes open.

Pros: Over all he has hit the ball pretty good . many people say it needs broke in , But the ball usually travels farther than when he hits with his $60.00 bat .

Cons: it seems like every so often while hitting there is an odd sound and the ball does not go far , We describe it as a flat spot in the bat . But I am not sure what it is , Could be he is just not connecting just right .

Pros: Purchased this bat for my son in the Spring looking for those ground balls to turn into line drives... Worked to PERFECTION..He has turned into a extremely good hitter mainly because of this bat..The pop is UNREAL in this bat and has really helped his confidence as a hitter..

Cons: The only CON for this bat is that every kid on the team is using it, because of the change in my son's hitting

Pros: My son is about 4'-2" & 62lbs. He loves this bat! Has good pop out of the box, it's light and easy to swing. The balls are traveling considerably farther over his aluminum bat. So far the bat seems durable enough to last at least 2 seasons (All-Stars included.) The handle fits great for youth players, grips well & the bat swings fast. Will make a good hitter better but won't overcome bad mechanics

Cons: The only 2 cons with the Omen: Despite the 2 piece design, you still get some sting from vibration...more than I would have expected...when you get to the outer edges of the sweet spot (another pro is the large sweet spot!) The other con is the price, the bat is worth $150, but $200 plus shipping is a little high. We will most likely by another Omen when we need to step up in size again.

Pros: I ordered the Omen for my 8 year old last January, because it was LL approved and well reviewed. We ordered a 30/18. My son had a break-out year. Previously he had been a contact hitter, but this year he really drove the ball, hitting 5 triples, 2 HRs and driving in 48 runs in 33 games. The bat has great pop, good balance, a nice sound and is very durable. He'll use it again next year.

Pros: Great pop and balance. If you make solid contact on the sweet spot it cranks it. Also, I've found out the perfect sweet spot with the most pop is between the "N" and the "O" in the Easton logo on the side. It looks amazing and has never failed me. It is by far my best bat yet, better then the Surge and H2!

Pros: Larger sweet spot than most bat aimed at youth players. The two piece construction is a plus as it helps reduce hand sting. Well balanced to help younger players get around quickly with it, maintaining bat speed. The bat seems to instill confidence in younger players, which is necessary for them to win the battle at the plate. My son typically uses two bats, a lighter bat for faster pitchers and a heavier bat for slower pitchers. With this bat he is fine with just one bat, no matter what they throw at him.

Pros: Great bat, solid feel - my son is an 8 yr old playing up in a 9-10 year olds league - he went 2 for 3 in his first outing. Both hits were sharply hit to the outfield. Have a question about the Easton Omen Youth Baseball Bat: LNC1XL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

is this bat approved for dixie youth baseball in 2011? Lip
This will be legal for Dixie in 2011. They have not put any restrictions on the use of composite bats.
Brett
Is this bat Babe Ruth approved? Tom Haverford
Yes. This bat is legal for Babe Ruth play. Babe Ruth lifted their ban of composite 2 1/4 inch barrel bat.
John
do you have a 30/18 in this style of bat moose
We only show what we have in our warehouse and ready to ship. When we receive new shipments, we put them up on our warehouse so you are able to order them.
Brett
Is a 2 1/ 4 barle consitered a big barrel smart
2 1/4 in barrel is considered small barrel. 2 5/8 and 2 3/4 are considered big barrel bats.
Brett
Do you know the difference between this one and the LNC2XL? paul
Difference is the length to weight ratio. The LNC1XL is a drop 12, the LNC2XL is a drop 10. Example: A 30 inch LNC1XL will weigh 18 ounces. A 30 inch LNC2XL will weigh 20 ounces.
John
What is the lowest temperature you would use the Easton Omen? TMan
Easton recommends their composite bats not be used when it is colder than 60 degrees outside. That doesn't mean you absolutely can't use it when it's colder than that, just try to limit it's use.
JH
what is better the youth easton omen or demarini cf5? yankees stink23567
Both of these bats are going to be at the top of the line of youth bats. These are the hottest bats on the market right now at every level. The Omen will have a little more pop but the CF5 will have a little better durability.
Brett
Is the Omen youth bat going to be approved for 2012 season? My grandson wants this bat but don't want to spent this much money on a bat he can't use in the 2012 season. Sheila
The bat is being grandfathered in next year to leagues that require the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on the bat. This bat says USSSA 1.15 BPF on it, but does not have the stamp. You will be able to use this bat in 2012.
Todd
What is the date of manufacture? Is it legal for Dixie Youth 2011 and 2012? Valerie
This is a 2011 bat. This bat does have the USSSA 1.15 BPF writing on the barrel of the bat. This is most likely what your league will be looking for and this bat has that.
Todd
Hi Do you have a 27 inch 15 ounce version of this bat. Also will this bat be good for 2012 and after that. Please let me know. Thanks, John John
A 28 inch 16 ounce is the smallest size this bat comes in. It depends on what league or organization you play in. There are many different organizations out there and not all of them abide by the same rules and guidelines. I don't want to give you any false information, so I would suggest checking with your coach or league director.
TJ
did the league lifted the composite bats ban for little league age group also? tony
The Easton Omen has passed all the requirements to be little league approved. That does not mean that all composite bats have met the requirements, but a lot have. All bats on the website that have met the Little League approval, are marked as such on the site.
Dave
Yes, they lifted the moritorium, and have since allowed some all composites back onto the approved list. The Omen is one of the all composites allowed.
lkh
What is the best way to break-in the bat and how long before optimal pop? Jeff
Best way to break in a bat is to just hit..rotate 1/4 turn..hit. The amount of hits varies, but average is about 100-150 hits.
lkh
is it a bb core jo
No, BBCOR bats will be -3 Adult. Youth bats will not be BBCOR.
Kris
Of the three bats listed which would you recommend for my player and at what lengh - CF5 - Omen - Vodoo - just turned 11 at 115 lb and 5ft2inches - above average power/line drive hitter - wants a bat to finish out 2 years of little league before he moves up - currently swings 29 vexxum or 29 older voodoo - thanks Chuck
If you go by his height and weight, he should be in about a 31" bat. If he had the Voodoo before and liked it, I would stay with what wprks. The Omen might swing too light for what he is used to.
lkh
Is this bat legal in little leage Large
Yes, it is in Little League International play.
Mark
which has the best pop the s1 s2 or the omen and which has the best bat speed uno
Pop wise, they are all about the same. The new speed series will give you a little more bat speed.
Mark
is there a big barral version and is it approved for school ball because im on the team and need a new bat D
It comes in a big barrel in a Senior League version and a BBCOR version. The BBCOR is the only big barrel legal for high school and college.
Kara
Other than the drop in both bats (LNC1XL and LNC2XL) and the fact that the 2XL would be a liitle heavier is there another difference? Visually the 2XL seems like it has a longer barrel. My son is used to swing -12 what could I expect if he switches to a -10 Jose
There is no difference between the 1XL and 2XL besides the length to weight ratio.
Ryan
how long does it take to "break in" the easton omen? BTompkins03
The break in takes about 150 to 200 swings with a quarter turn after every hit
Sean
Does the bat have stamped approved for dixie youth baseball? Rosa
Yes. It will say approved for Dixie on the barrel.
Ryan
Is this bat approved in Dizzy Dean baseball? juter
According to the Dizzy Dean website, all composite bats are banned.
Kara
Hi Do you or can you make a 27/15 version of this bat. Please let me know. Thanks, John John O'Brien
Unfortunately, Easton does not make the LNC1XL in a 27 inch 15 ounce model.
Derek
how does it take to break in i only had it for 4 week seaton
A good break-in for a composite bat shouldn't take longer than about 150 hits. I recommend taking about 150 swings off a tee starting at about 40% power and gradually increasing. Be sure to rotate the bat about a quarter of an inch between each swing to ensure even break-in.
Derek
my son is 11 and is 4'11 and wieghs 112. he has a combat thats 29/17 and needs to upgrade. i am looking at the easton omen and trying to decide on appropriate size.i want to get correct size but not jump too much. thx paul
The general rule of thumb is, you don't want to move a player up more than one inch or one ounce, at a time. That way you don't throw off their natural mechanics. So, if you want to move him up, I would suggest the 30/18.
Linda
There is a slight gap between the barrel and the rubber ring, about the edge of a quarter, seems to be getting bigger. Is this going to effect the performance of the Omen? Tore
This will not effect the performance of the bat, but you might run into an issues with umpires allowing in play. There is a 400 day manufacturer's warranty with this bat which would cover this issue.
John
Is the Omen PONY league approved and stamped to say so? Dave
This bat is approved for Little League play.
Linda
My son uses a Anderson Nano 28/16. I was thinking of purchasing the Omen in a 29/17. Is there a larger sweet spot on the Omen compared to the Nano considering the barrel is so much larger? Daniel
The Omen is going to have a little bigger sweetspot than the Nano.
Kara
Out of all of the youth bats legal for Cal Ripken 10u, which bat do you feel has the largest and best sweetspot for a batter using a 29/17. Daniel
The Easton Omen is going to have one of the best sweetspots for a youth bat.
K.B.
Is this bat approved for USSSA? k4444
This does not have the newest stamp on it. But it does have the old USSSA 1.15 bpf stamp on it. We were told this would be grandfathered in.
Linda
Is this approved for Dixie Youth Baseball JJ
Yes,this bat is legal for Dixie Youth.
Linda
will this bat be approved for dixie 2012 spring season tay
Yes, most recent info says yes, it will be.
Linda
Do you have a 31 18 in stock karyn
This bat is not available in a 31" 18 oz. it comes in a 31" 19 oz and a 30" 18 oz
Sean
Will this bat be changing at all in 2012. Is this eastons top rated youth bat if not what is? #8
This is one of Easton's best. They also have the new Speed and XL lines that are great also.
Linda
Is this bat approved for Pony Baseball for 2012? O-man!
If you are allowed to use small barrel bats that have a composite barrel, then this bat will be legal for you to use. I would make sure with your coach or the head of the league to make sure that you are able to use this bat.
Todd
will this bat be changing in 2012? 6
This bat is discontinued, the Easton S1 (YB11S1) will be the replacement for this Omen.
John
My son is 11 yrs old 5' 2" 127 lbs and has above average power even for his size. What size Easton Omen bat should he be using. S.H.
First question I would ask is, is he allowed to use the big barrel bats? If he is, get him in a big barrel. If not, then I would go no lighter than a -10 for him. With his size and strength you want to get him in a little heavier bat.
Linda
I purchased this bat (28/16) 3 months ago and have now been informed that I must have a USSSA -approved bat. Is this bat approved for USSSA play? It does not have a stamp. Brian Butler
It does have the old usssa stamp on it, which we were told is being grandfathered in. I would check with your league to make sure they are going to honor that.
Linda
I purchaced an omen -12 in May, afrter 6 months of use (750-900) hits on it it seams to have no more pop like it once had.BIG POP!!! Is this common to lose pop in a composite bat? catchers dad
Yes, it is common for all bats to lose pop after extended use
Sean
My son almost 10 yrs. old, is 4'3" 60lbs. Contact hitter who has never had a great bat. I want to give him any advantage I can with his traveling team this year. I think he could use a little more bat speed. The ball doesn't seem to pop off his bat. Early in the season it is fairly cold in Washington. What bat would you recommend? Looking at the Omen, S1, S2, S3 and CF5. Michael
This is a very good bat. The Omen, CF5, and S1 will be similar bats. They will be 100% composite and have very good pop. They will be top of the line youth bats. The S2 has an alloy barrel and a composite handle and the S3 is an all alloy bat. These bats have no break in period and will be hot out of the wrapper. You will get more pop off a composite barrel bat as they have better trampoline effect.
KG
Two questions. Will this bat be legal for Babe Ruth in 2012? My 10 year old son is 4'6" and weighs 86 pounds. I'm thinking of a 30/18 bat. Does that sound right? Thanks. Stuckman
Yes, this bat is approved for Babe Ruth
Sean
Is this bat approved for USSSA in 2012? Tpop
This does not have the newest stamp on it. But it does have the old USSSA 1.15 bpf stamp on it. We were told this would be grandfathered in.
Sean
My son is 4'3" 60lbs. Average strength for his size. What is the better size for him, 29/17 or 28/16? Frediam
The average size for his height and weight is a 29"
Sean
I have heard by a few the Omen's weight isn't necessarily as advertised. (heavier) Can I EXPECT a 17oz bat with the 29/17? Michelle
We have not heard that the weight is heavier than it is listed
Sean
Is this bat BPF 1.15 certified? This would be for Cal Ripken league. JAU
Yes, this bat is legal.
Linda
My 8 year old son is 4' 2" and weighs about 55lbs. He has been using a 29" Vexxum 13.5 drop with a bat choke above the knob. Would you recommend 28/16 or 29/17 Omen? How does it compare w/ Vexxum? Mike
If he is comfortable choking up on the bat then I would go with the 29/17. The Omen is a two piece all composite bat and the Vexxum is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Omen is going to have more pop because it is an all composite bat. However, it will take some time to break in.
Kara
Is this bat approved for Dixie Youth baseball in 2012 rtoler

Linda
do you recommend this bat 30/18 or DeMarini CF4 29/18 for a solid 10u Tourney player? andy
I would recommend the 30/18 bat as this will give you more coverage over the plate and will give you room to grow into the bat. This is a very good bat with tons of pop and will have a balanced feel.
KG
Is there a label on the bat for USSSA use? keithk
This bat has the old label and does not have the new USSSA stamp.
KG

Kara
Was just told could use composite in Dixie Youth for 2012 is this so ?Had a sv12 cracked it got the surge to replace. How much more pop does this have ? fly
Do not know what is approved for Dixie Youth in your area. I would check with your coach or league offical first. I would recommend the Omen over the others.
Ryan
Is this bat approved for USSSA? Thanks. Connor
Yes this bat would state on the barrel that it is USSSA BPF 1.15 approved.
John
Considering a 30/18 composite bat for my son...it would be his first composite. What should I expect vs Easton's Reflex aluminum bat (30/17)? SoCal Dad

KB
which of the easton bats havethe biggest sweet spot, the omen , stealth speed, or the power brigade? also does the omen have the usssa stamp on it? also how about the compared to the demarini cf5? Thanks eddie
All of these bats have the USSSA stamps. The Stealth, Speed, and Omen are all the same exact bat. They are also very comparable to the CF5.
Jennifer
What do you feel is the life cycle for this bat? Is there an amount of hits you max out on before it is time to get another one? slugger
There is not a set life cycle for any bat. Proper maintenance and care will help ensure a long life cycle.
Kara
My Omen must be a little older, and it doe snot have the "USSSA STAMP" but it does have writing on the barrel that say "USSSA 1.15 BPF". Is this a legal bat for play in USSSA 2012? P1ZK
The Easton Omen: LNC1XL is legal for the 2012 and 2013 season because it states that it is USSSA approved. But, for the 2014 it will require the new USSSA stamp.
Brad
What is the best youth bat in a size 29-17? peanut
The Easton Omen is a great bat and will have good pop. This bat is 100% composite and is a very popular youth bat.
KG
What is the break-in time for the Omen. Nicky
We recommend hitting 150-200 balls off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the bat about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers throughout the barrel.
John
My son is 8 yrs old 56lbs and is starting kid pitch this year looking for a new bat that he can get around on the ball. I'm looking at the Omen,Surge and S3. Which would be the best bat for him. he is swinging a -13 Easton flex 27" 16oz now but the pop just isn't there like some of the other bats the kids are using. Thanks shane
The S3 is going to be the lightest and most balanced out of all three bats. If you are looking for quick bat speed then the S3 would be the best choice.
KB

This bat will be approved for play in 2012. It will state on the barrel "USSSA 1.15 BPF."
John

Kris
Easton Omen: LNC1XL Youth The league says the bat must be marked with BPF 1.15 stamp. What about this bat or direct me to another model. Thanks KYLE
This bat features the old USSSA stamp, which is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season. However, starting 2013 all bats will be required to have the new USSSA stamp. If you are looking for a bat similar to the Omen that will have the new stamp, I would suggest checking out the Easton S1 found here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1--yb11s1-youth/14430/. This is the bat Easton produced to replace the Omen since it is being discontinued. It will be very similar to the Omen and is a great bat.
Jennifer

These are the length to weight ratios (or "drops") and identifies the difference between a bat's length and weight. For instance, a 30 inch bat with a -10 length to weight ratio will weigh 20 ounces. A 30 inch bat with a -12 length to weight ratio will weigh 18 ounces.
Tyler

The LNC1XL has a BPF of 1.15. But it does not have the new USSSA stamp required for youth bats in 2013.
Tyler

This bat is approved for Little League play. It has the old USSSA stamp, which is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season, but it does not have the new USSSA stamp that is being required beginning in 2013.
Jennifer
Does anyone have an issue with this bat when the weather is under 50 or so? Baseball Dad
Since this is a composite bat, it is recommended to not use in temperatures that are 50 degrees or colder. The colder temperatures affect the balls and not necessarily the bat, so the chance of damaging the bat can increase in those cooler temperatures.
Jennifer
Do you think there will be any problem with Little League approval down the road? Paul
As of right now (3/13/2012) there have been no talks about this bat being illegal. This bat is still Little League approved and we have not heard anything about it being deemed illegal in the future.

Jennifer

That would be the length to weight ratio. The LNC1XL has a -12 length to weight ratio. The LNC2XL has a -10 length to weight ratio. They are the same otherwise.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for usssa I see it has usssa on it but no stamp? Jason
The Easton Omen Youth Baseball Bat: LNC1XL was discontinued following the 2012 season. However, it should be allowed in a USSSA league as those rules have not shifted for quite some time. If you are looking to still use this bat, I would recommend reaching out directly to a league official to see if they will still be allowing the model.
