Description

Marucci takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci bat is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. Marucci uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. Marucci bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. Marucci uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that they use. "Boning" bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat and try their newest custom wood bat designed for Andrew McCutchen. The Cutch 22 Pro Model allows hitters who prefer a balanced feel to swing a larger barrel. The tapered handle distributes the weight of the powerful barrel evenly throughout the bat so hitters have complete control of their swing from the load all the way through the zone. Best wood I have swung. Ethan Morris player

Pros: The feel of the weight and the handle is great and feels perfect from the first swing. Within the first ten swings I took with it hit it to the fence, Im a freshman and the fence is 312 ft. The laxton cherry finish on the bat is a great look and is beautifully finished. The bat is very balanced and has a slightly larger barrel than the AP5. I have yet to use the bat in a game, but I am really looking forward to using the bat.

Cons: The handle is a little slippery on the first touch, recommend taping it up or using good quality pine tar.

response to all amateurs realplayr player

Pros: Very well balanced for having such a long barrel. Great pop if you know how to hit with wood, it had better pop than most aluminum bats out today.

Cons: None... Thus is for all you amateurs that give bad reviews to good wood bats because they aren't "durable" they only break quickly because you don't know how to swing wood! Stop buying top of the line bats when you don't know how to use them yet! And unless you have some experience and credentials to do so... Do not review a professional grade product with amatuer skill.

Best bat I've ever bought!!! SamJ825 player

Pros: I absolutely love this bat! When I first started using wood bats, I was swinging a size 32 Louisville Slugger, same size bat I swung in high school. I hit okay with it but it wasn't what I felt comfortable with. My cousin swung Cutch22s and had great things to say about them. So I decided to buy one. I chose to buy a 31 to see if it would be more comfortable for me and man was it! My bat speed, my contact rate and my power have all gone up since getting this bat. I love it, it's worth the price.

Cons: NONE

Is this considered a big barrel wood bat? I've bought a few bats recently: Sam Bat Youth 31" and a Louisville Slugger 31". But my son noticed the barrels are smaller than the barrels on his teammates' bats. Do I need to buy adult bats for him to get a bigger barrel? He's 13 years old, 5' 2", 125 pounds, and is playing 13U (60/90 dimensions). If so, any recommendations? He's a contact and line drive hitter. mach
There are some wooden Youth Big Barrel models on the market, and you can see all of the options we carry through this link: http://goo.gl/p2AFA3. But the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22NC) is still considered an Adult bat, even though the barrel diameter is larger than that offered by Youth models. At 13 years old, most players should be beginning to transition to the Adult models with -3 length to weight ratios because that is what will be required in high school and some middle school leagues. Whether or not he needs to use an Adult model really comes down to what his particular league requires. If he does not yet need to use a -3 model, and you feel he wouldn't swing one well at this point, I would recommend the Rawlings Velo Big Barrel (SL151V) in the link above because its -5 length to weight ratio would be a good transitional size that would prepare him for a -3.
